We took a Standard room for two. Clean enough, there is a refrigerator, hairdryer. Shower directly to the floor, water flooded the entire bathroom. Towels were changed every day. Breakfast is a buffet, you can eat, but the choice is small, not everything is tasty. The receptionist was unfriendly and was reluctant to answer questions.

Very dirty. Old furniture, old plumbing. Antediluvian TV, which shows 2.5 channels, and those with interference, despite the fact that from the windows of the hotel you can see the Ostankino TV tower. Lack of opportunity to have dinner in the evening. The KPSS cafe is a hymn to the scoop. The unsanitary conditions are terrible. We must close and not disgrace ourselves.

I cannot objectively assess the quality of services and rooms due to the fact that I have not lived in this hotel. A friend came from Yakutia and he checked into this hotel. I got to it by public transport for about half an hour from metro Alekseevskaya, the best option was a bus, 150 m from the Baikal hotel bus stop, the option from the metro further. It was evening and I did not immediately find the building, I had to ask around people. I photographed the layout of the buildings, maybe it will be useful to someone. Especially I went to the booking, to beckon suggestions in the VDNKh area. In terms of prices and photographs of rooms, the booking gave me, in my opinion, more optimal options, but once again I note that the opinion is subjective. As for myself, when I was a "guest of the capital", I preferred other hotels in this area.
I would like to note that all hotels have rooms that correspond to requests, the only question is the price.
At the reception, the receptionist was polite to me, allowed me to wait for the guest in the lobby on the couch. My friend liked the hotel, I didn't hear anything negative from him.
To summarize, you need to get to the hotel by transport, the hotel yard is difficult to find the first time, the territory is insufficiently lit. The reception staff are polite.
The rest is your choice ??

It is convenient for me that it is close to VDNKh
The room is cozy and small, but there is no hairdryer ?. Maybe I got it, maybe eat better.

A 3-bed room was booked. On Saturday we arrived at the hotel, a little earlier than the check-in time, at about 13:10, there was a queue, there is one reception with ONE employee for 6 buildings. The girl said that there were no vacant rooms so far and said to come exactly at 14 o'clock. They came at 14, stood in an even longer queue, called various people for a long time, found out something, it turned out that there were no clean rooms, and the time was already 14:30, but a logical question, she calmly answered, as if this was a common thing for them, that there were few employees, not have time. I sent it to building 6 for the keys, they didn’t give us the keys there. the room will still be cleaned for 30 minutes, i.e. we could call in at 15 o'clock at best. There was no time to wait, they offered to leave things in the storage room, and I had to change there. Of course, the food went bad in a day without a refrigerator, and of course you can't wash after the road. In the evening we arrived, at about 23 o'clock, building 6 was closed, they did not open the call, they let guests in, neither the administrator nor the guard, went back to 5, the administrator proved for a long time that everything was in place. As a result, she herself gave the keys and went to open the storage room. Arriving at the 6th building, I really did not find any employees. Then the administrator of the 6th building nevertheless appeared, but he could not explain where he disappeared. It all took another 30 minutes, instead of resting at a later time. Nobody even thought to apologize somehow, all communication is indifferent. After picking up the things and receiving the keys, we went up to the 3rd floor, and there we were waiting for parquet, which apparently had not changed since the time of construction, dry, creaky, dangling boards that were covered with a dirty worn carpet and all this was accompanied by the ancient smell of the 70s. Going into the room, what a surprise it was when there was no chandelier in one of the rooms (!). Only two bedside lamps. Is it okay? Okay, let's say. The room is dirty, the cleaning is formal, the tables, window sills, are wiped clean, it seems clean. And the fact that dust collects on other surfaces no one knows, apparently, there was a candy wrapper under the bed. In dignity. a knot in a bathtub in a drain for water someone's hair, the tiles are falling off, the shower apparently changed, they bought the cheapest one, but the fact that when you insert it into the mount, instead of pouring from top to bottom, it pours horizontally to the opposite wall, nobody cares, type and so it will come down. Water is drawn into the toilet barrel with the sound of a passing diesel locomotive. Tapak, no dental supplies. Three were given 5 towels. How they should have been divided is not clear. The mattress was pressed down, springs were felt, I had to lay a blanket and cover myself with a blanket. Breakfast in their "restaurant" is a separate topic. There are a lot of people, there are no dishes, there are not enough seats, the tables are dirty. Several times he turned to the employees with a request to bring the dishes and clean the tables, they answered in a raised tone that they were not in time.

It may seem surprising to someone, but mountain skiing in our country was practiced not only in the mountains, but also on the hills near Moscow. The future winners of the all-Union competitions began their training in Moscow on the Sparrow Hills and on the slopes near Moscow.

Perhaps the most real ski Mecca in the Moscow region is the vicinity of the Tourist station along the Savyolovskaya railway. Located in the north of the Moscow region at the foot of the Klinsko-Dmitrovskaya ridge, this area was downright ideal for skiing.

Now, few of the winter recreation lovers have not heard about the ski club of Leonid Tyagachev, about the sports and entertainment parks Volen, Yakhroma, Sorochany. However, the mass hobby of alpine skiing began long before the appearance of these modern complexes, equipped with the latest technology.

"Leonid Tyagachev's Ski Club" was opened in February 2001, and skiing from these hills began much earlier. Already in the 70s of the last century, the first lifts were installed here. These were handicrafts, most often made in a single copy. And almost each of them was a very original technical solution.

"The best ski area of the Moscow region ..."

The railway station was opened here much earlier - in 1901, and it was named Blakhernskaya - after the name of the nearby monastery. In 1934, the Society for Proletarian Tourism and Excursions, or simply OPTE, opened the first tourist base on Vlakhernskaya. Routes around the base and travel to it were described in a reference book published in 1935: “Blakhernsky junction of the Savyolovskaya line of the Northern railway. One hour 45 minutes drive from the Savyolovsky railway station. The base is located on the picturesque bank of the Yakhroma river. The Vlakhernskaya area is the best ski area in the Moscow region. " By that time, the construction of the Moscow-Volga Canal, which was mainly created by the labor of prisoners, was completed. The sheds, the stable and the building of the school - the former estate of the Luzhins nobles - in which the prisoners of Dmitlag were previously housed, were given under the base.

Leafing through the files of old newspapers, I came across an article that attracted attention with the heading - "Moscow Mountaineering". On the yellowed page of the newspaper Pravda, dated January 6, 1935, we read: “The favorite place of excursions of Moscow climbers is the Vlakhernskaya station of the Savyolovskaya railway. ... Hills overgrown with spruce, pine and birch, numerous slopes into deep ravines make this a beautiful place the center of skiing for Muscovites. "

In 1936 the station received its current name "Tourist". And a year later, the Young Tourist House (DYuT) was opened at the base and schoolchildren began to come here to get the necessary tourist skills. It was only after the collapse of the Soviet Union that they were no longer given the USSR Tourist badge. The base is located at the turn to the village of Mukhanki. Currently, due to a change in ownership, the base is closed, but I would like to hope that it will continue its work.

And here is a photo from my friend's home archive. It was made in the winter of 1941, six months before the attack of Nazi Germany on the Soviet Union. It shows a skier dressed in the fashion of the time and in the appropriate equipment, on wooden skis and with bamboo poles in his hands, captured in a dashing turn. Why don't you freeride? This picture was taken on the slope of the Paramonovsky ravine, located 5 kilometers from the "Tourist" near the village of Paramonovo. And this was long before the appearance of the first lifts, with which the local slopes were equipped only in 1973, and that's another story.

Yuri Borisovich Trista, an experienced skier, chairman of the amateur league of the city of Moscow, participant and organizer of various competitions, also got up on skis in these places. He told how, as a boy, he and his mother made the first skiing trip from the Tourist station. And it was in 1949, and Yuri was only six years old. A steam locomotive with several trailed carriages went to "Tourist" from Moscow at that time. From the station they went first to the village of Mukhanki, and then through Strekovo to the village of Paramonovo, where they rode along the steep slopes of the Paramonovsky ravine. Then, also on skis, we returned to the station. The length of this route, not counting the downhill skiing, turned out to be quite serious for a six-year-old boy - more than 10 km.

The village of Shukolovo, which now houses the Tyagachev Ski Club, is closest to the "Tourist". In the 50s, Vadim Gippenreiter, the first USSR champion in alpine skiing and a wonderful photo artist, rode on the Shukolov slopes. Of course, there were no lifts here then, and it was necessary to climb up on foot. In the 60s, local skiers began to master these slopes, and soon a sports school of the Trud society was built here.

"We get on the trains ..."

The stagnant 70s became a real heyday of the popularity of alpine skiing among the "common" people. The main part of this "people" was made up of the intelligentsia and students. A song was even composed with the following words: "Intelligent, get up on your skis, neck anorak and move up the mountain!"

It is possible that it was the years of stagnation that contributed to the rapid growth in the popularity of alpine skiing. After all, the speed, whirlwinds of snow, a state close to the sensation of flight, delivered a lot of emotions that made it possible to forget about the dull dullness of everyday life.

The equipment was then obtained with great difficulty, but at a price it was affordable even for students. True, everything required some improvement. The boots were still leather, with laces, soft and not too adapted for a tight connection with the skis. To increase the rigidity, the boots were first heated in the oven and then covered with molten paraffin. After that, they were put on their feet, and the lucky owner patiently waited for the paraffin to solidify. Having cooled down, the boots became as hard as a stone, but another problem arose: how to get out of them ...

A little later, Czech "Botas" on clips appeared. They were already much tougher. And even too much, and for many also too narrow. Even when compared with the "Spanish boot", the medieval inquisitors quietly "smoked" on the sidelines. And then the seventies began ...

In the mid-seventies, the third carriage of the electric train became a special center of attraction for the ski and tourist fraternity. Yuri Vizbor usually rode in it. On Saturday - there, on Sunday - back. His place was always in the third row, and no one except him took him. Those who managed to get into this carriage were considered lucky, as there was not enough room for everyone. The train got under way, Vizbor picked up a guitar and began to sing. And he sang until the very "Tourist". There, not far from the station, in the village of Novlyanka, he rented a hut. I filmed, like many who came here to go skiing. In 1976 he even composed a song called "Novlyanka Village". There are these words:

Let's get a horse here!

Bottles here, bagels!

Bring me, friends

To my village - Novlyanka!

Coming to the station, the skiers were divided into three unequal groups. The most numerous headed towards the village of Shukolovo, the other towards the village of Mukhanki. And, finally, the third one was loaded onto a local bus going to the village of Paramonovo. Even then, there was a toboggan run more than a kilometer long, on which all-Union competitions were held.

At that time there were not many sports bases where one could stay overnight in order to re-enter the hill the next day. There were several of them in Shukolovo - Trud, Wings of the Soviets, Zenit, in Paramonovo - Lokomotiv. Many rented rooms in village huts from local residents, left their skis there so as not to carry them with them every time.

The first lifts in Shukolovo began to appear in the early 70s. In addition to stationary lifts with an electric motor, mobile ones with a two-stroke gasoline motorcycle engine were also used. At that time, the club system was developed, when each lift belonged to a specific club, created by any large enterprise. Most often, such clubs were created at enterprises of the defense industry or research institutes. The companies themselves provided assistance to the clubs. We built bases, bought skis, made lifts at the production base. Kurchatov Institute, Krasnaya Zvezda, Academy of Sciences. And it turned out that the lifts were used by privileged members of the clubs, and "uninitiated members" skiers climbed along the slopes of the slopes "ladder". That was, in general, a good physical workout. Yes, and during the ascent, it was possible to look at others, and at the same time discuss the technique.

It was always noisy and fun at the Krylya Sovetov ski resort, which is no longer there now. There were held not only trainings and competitions, but also many other interesting events and all kinds of rallies ... At that time, its director was a wonderful coach Alexander Schroeders. He was a very lively and very cheerful person. And then one day "Papa Schultz", as everyone jokingly called him, decided to breed carp in a local pond. Twelve selected specimens were released into the reservoir near the base. But then friends arrived and a dispute arose: who would catch these fish more. The stake is a box of cognac. Needless to say, there are no carp left in the pond ...

"Russian miracle" from Shukolovo

If we talk about big-time sports, then by all means it is necessary to talk about the school of the Olympic reserve (SDYUSHOR), where the coach of the USSR national team Yuri Sergeevich Preobrazhensky became one of the main ideologists. Among his first students were Viktor Belyakov (a participant in the 1968 Olympics) and Leonid Tyagachev, who had been at a sports school from the age of seven. Subsequently, Tyagachev will become the winner of the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR, a member of the USSR national team, and then its head coach. It was here that the most famous and titled skier of the USSR, Alexander Zhirov, made his first descents. His performances on the World Cup tracks made the Shukol slopes famous all over the world.

Leonid Tyagachev was born in the village of Dedenevo, next to the "Tourist". The most successful Russian alpine skier, Alexander Zhirov, also comes from there. Alexander began skiing at the age of seven on the Shukolovsky slopes. His first coach was Valentin Mikhailovich Shirokov, then at the age of 15, Alexander moved to CSKA, where he trained with Viktor Talyanov. And in the USSR national team he was preparing for the competition with the participation of Leonid Tyagachev.

In 1981, under the leadership of Tyagachev, the USSR men's alpine skiing team achieved the biggest success in its history, winning five stages of the World Cup in a month. Valery Tsyganov literally snatched the first victory in downhill, and then Alexander Zhirov won four times in a row. In the Bulgarian Borovets, Zhirov was ahead of the legendary Stenmark by more than a second. Subsequently, the Swedish alpine skier, behind whom 86 victories at the World Cup stages, will say the following: “Zhirov was a wonderful alpine skier. I guess ... he was a genius. "

But before that, our skiers had never won at the stages of the World Cup. This period was called "24 days of the Russian miracle", and the then composition of the national team - "golden". In the same year, Leonid Tyagachev was recognized internationally as the best ski coach in the world.

For phenomenal success, Tyagachev is awarded a Citroen car, and Alexander Zhirov receives a Volvo 244 from ski sponsor Rossignol.

Unfortunately, after this tremendous success, Zhirov's sports career began to decline. In the 1982/83 season, he did not participate in the World Cup races, and in May 1983 he died in a car accident near his native village. By a tragic coincidence, he crashed in the same Volvo that he received for his World Cup victories. Alexander was buried in the Shukolovsky cemetery near the slopes, where his ascent to the ski Olympus began.
