Yalta in May how to dress. Rest in Yalta. What are the prices for holidays in Yalta in May

Yalta is the largest pearl in the crown of the Crimean coast. It is located on the shores of the Yalta Bay, on three hills, in the valley of two rivers, surrounded by a semi-ring of the Crimean Mountains. The city and suburb of Yalta form Big Yalta, by analogy with Big Sochi.

The name of the city comes from the Greek "yalos", which means "coast". Venetians, Genoese, Turks alternately lived in this place, but the city remained a small village. After a strong earthquake in the 15th century, no one lived here for a long time. Only in 1823 did the Governor-General of Crimea M.S. Vorontsov began to allocate land plots in this place. Here, like mushrooms, palaces and castles began to be built.

The end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries was a time of rapid construction and development of the city. New rest houses and sanatoriums were built, in 1925 the pioneer camp "Artek" began to function.

Now the city is annually visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists. For accommodation there is a large number of hotels, mini-hotels, hotels, boarding houses, living rooms, sanatoriums, rest homes, and the private sector is also widely represented. For you, we can select and book accommodation, without intermediaries, for every taste and budget.

The main treatment in Yalta: sun, sea and air. By the way, there are more sunny days here than in Sochi. There are a great many beaches in Yalta: some of them are free, and some are paid. Paid beaches belong to sanatoriums and holiday homes. Basically, they all have a pebble cover, but some are covered with imported sand. The sea, in the area of the bay, sinks sharply into the depths. The water is warm and clean. The beach infrastructure on the paid beaches is well developed, but the public ones have only the bare essentials.

The food industry in the coastal zone is well developed. The city is full of excellent restaurants, cafes and canteens. There are markets where you can always buy fresh food, fruits and vegetables.

Yalta is called an open-air museum. Primarily of interest are the "Swallow's Nest", the palace of the Emir of Bukhara, the Massandra Palace, the Livadia Palace, the Chekhov House-Museum, the schooner "Escagnola". The zoo, the sea aquarium, the Glade of Fairy Tales Museum are interesting for children. Another attraction is the cable car; from a bird's eye view, you can immediately see the whole city. You can always buy a ticket to visit any sightseeing in Crimea from numerous travel agents.

Since there is no railway in Yalta, all transportation is carried out by road. The longest trolleybus route from Simferopol is laid here. Taxis, minibuses and buses run constantly between the cities of the coast.

Yalta is a city of republican significance with the status of a resort. There is the concept of Big Yalta, which includes over 100 settlements. The population of the city is 78,000 people. The municipal infrastructure is quite well developed here, but there are no large industrial facilities. Also, the city is a major transport hub through which passenger traffic is carried out between the capital of Crimea and settlements on the South Coast.

The name is of Turkic origin and translates as “on the shore”. The first mentions of the city are found by the Arab historian Idrisia and date back to 1154. They say that in the XII century there was a settlement of Polovtsians, although people in this area settled in the V century BC. The city began to develop intensively since 1823, when the redistribution of local territories was carried out.

What to do on vacation

Even coming on vacation to Yalta every year, you will need more than one vacation to see all the local attractions. We finished resting and have already arrived home.
We all really liked Yalta!
The place where they lived is gorgeous, an alley to the sea and back through the shade, a restaurant where they cook delicious food in the courtyard with a fountain, live music.
The administrator and the maid, two Olga, very good, kind and helpful, tried in every possible way to please the vacationers, cleaned the rooms, changed the towel and bed linen, responded to requests promptly, there were no adequate ones))
There was one small minus when the windows are open at night, sometimes it is noisy from the rest, under the window.
but these are trifles.) The quality of the repair corresponds to a good three rubles. Price too.
everything else is very decent!
Thanks a lot!
We will recommend this place to friends and acquaintances.

I would like to express my gratitude to Anatoly. We liked everything. Accommodated 10 people (7 adults and 3 children). We rested from June 24, 2019 to July 1, 2019. Everything as Anatoly told about the house was real. The sea is in a 3-minute walk. Yalta embankment is also nearby, in 10 minutes. Grocery and fruit shops on the way from the beach. The sea water was very clean. There are not many people on the beach. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and acquaintances. Thank you very much for our vacation !!!

We rested in June. Check-in was quick. By the way, if you arrived much earlier, then you can leave your things and take a walk, and there is where to walk here. Nearby everything. Parks, beaches, restaurant, dining, water activities, shop, promenade and more. There is fishing, surfing, boating. A big plus is free parking. We lived on the first floor. The room is clean. The room had everything for a comfortable stay. There is a large sofa, a comfortable bed, a TV with many channels, a large kitchen with a dining area, a dishwasher, a microwave oven, a refrigerator, and dishes. There is a washing machine. Everything is thought out to the smallest detail. The bathroom is clean with a large shower. The cottage has a beautiful terrace with a barbecue area and a large dining area. There is a small fish pond. The terrace is surrounded by greenery. There are sun loungers and swings. There is also a gorgeous sauna. The owners of the cottage, Yana and Roma, are very nice and helpful people. They will tell, show and try to do everything for a good rest of tourists. I advise everyone to visit this place. You will definitely not regret it. We will rest now only here! You feel at home here.

Yalta is my favorite city in Crimea. It is considered a resort, and the tourist season lasts from June to September, but at any time of the year I have a great rest here and find something to my liking.

May is a good time to relax in Yalta:

  • the sun does not bake yet, there is no sweltering heat, it is warm. I go hiking in the mountains with a tent and enjoy the beauty of nature;
  • there are few tourists, there are no queues, you can get on all the planned excursions;
  • It is convenient to take pictures, no stranger constantly interferes in the frame;
  • the prices are reasonable, there is still no excitement among vacationers, it is easy to rent housing.

But the sea is cold and you won't be able to swim. Water temperature - +13 ° С. But you can wander around the heated pebbles, sunbathe, take a walk along the coast.

At the end of May last year I was lucky enough to swim. The temperature during the day during the week reached + 20 ° С, the sea quickly warmed up, and I had a chance to open the swimming season.

For walks in May, the most optimal weather conditions. Little precipitation falls, it gets dark late, and the thermometer approaches +18 ° C during the day. It's time for hiking and conquering the top of Ai-Petri. You can visit the Uchan-Su waterfall before it dries up from the heat. But at nights it is still cool - 12 ° С. Long sleeves, sneakers, windbreaker will come in handy.

May Yalta air is light, fresh, filled with aromas of flowering trees and flowers. I returned from rest full of strength and energy.

In the evening, I advise you to walk along the embankment and breathe in the sea air. There are many attractions in the city: palaces, parks, the Botanical Garden, the zoo, the Glade of Fairy Tales Museum.

It will be interesting for children to visit the dolphinarium and the water area. They show performances of marine animals. Instead of lying on the beach uselessly, I tasted all the corners of Yalta.

Yalta resort in May: what is the weather, prices and tourists

For several years in a row, the Crimean peninsula has been the favorite destination of Russians for the May holidays. People come here to relax, bask in the sun and, if possible, swim in the sea. According to tourists, the weather in Yalta in May 2020 is sunny, and precipitation is expected towards the end of the month. As for the temperature of the water in the sea, it is, unfortunately, low and the most courageous and hardened swim. But you should not be upset, because Yalta is a beautiful place, beautiful nature and unique views that you will forever remember in your memory.

The last spring month is very much awaited by all residents and tourists of the city. After all, it is with him that the real spring warmth comes to the region. Dull rains are left somewhere behind, cold winds have changed direction and are now blowing warm, and nature comes to life, and prepare in summer.
Many are sure that May is the most suitable month for a trip to Yalta. And even if you fail to swim, you will see stunning nature, which is only here. And the weather will not prevent you from enjoying your vacation.

When going on vacation to Yalta, you should take light beach clothes and warm clothes with you. During the day, the sun shines here, warming the air up to +18 +20 degrees. Closer to lunchtime, the thermometer rises to +23, and then it is more comfortable to be in shorts and T-shirts. At the end of spring, the temperature rises rapidly, catching up with what was missed in April. And now after the middle of the month no one is surprised by +27, and closer to summer and all +30 heat. So May is a record month for temperature changes.

But this is only during the day. At night, when there is no sun, the air temperature is still low and does not tend to be higher. The average night temperature is about +12 degrees. At this time, you will need warm clothes. They will also come in handy in the evenings if you decide to walk around the city or along the sea. It immediately gets colder after sunset. And if in the sunlight it was +25, then, as soon as the last rays go beyond the horizon, it will immediately become +17. And every hour the temperature will drop until the sun reappears in the morning.

Most people associate Yalta with the sea and beach holidays. I hate to upset you, but you won't be able to swim here this month. The sea water is about +13 degrees, and only by June it will warm up to +18. But despite such low rates, there are those who wish to enter the water with joy and even do the swims. If you also decide to test yourself in cold sea water, then be careful, warn others that you are going to swim and let them watch you. In such water, legs, arms can become narrow, or simply become ill, so your friends should see you at sea and, in case of danger, inform the rescuers.

The spring sun warms up very strongly every day. There is no precipitation in the first half of May, but they begin at the end of the month, when the air becomes hot. And, as a rule, it is not a quiet spring rain, but a heavy southern downpour with a thunderstorm. Do not be afraid of this weather, because in the summer months, when it is even hotter, showers and thunderstorms are even stronger. According to statistics, about 30 millimeters of precipitation falls per month, and there are 2-3 rainy days.

Daylight hours are very long, about 15 hours. This is the time when at least one sunbeam shines over the city. And the whole day lasts almost 17 hours. Vacationers like this, because you can rest for a long time and sleep a little.

Yalta in May: what is it like, what to do?

There are not many tourists in the resort at the end of spring. No, they are, but if you compare their number with the summer months, then they are few. But the prices from this are not lower, and even sometimes higher than the summer ones. This is because of the May holidays, when vacationers come here. Usually houses are rented upon arrival, and having arrived there is nowhere to go, you have to take it at the price that is. To save money, it is better to find and book a house or a room at the right price through the sites in advance.

What to do in Yalta in May? Yes, you will hardly be able to swim in the sea, unless you are a "walrus" and are not accustomed to such water. But you will be able to sunbathe under the spring sun, which is not yet very active, which means that your skin will not cause much trouble. Plus, fishing is great these days, so grab your rods and you won't regret it.
And do not forget about the nature, which here, according to tourists, is one of the best on the entire peninsula. And the sights in the city will help you get acquainted with the history of the city and the whole Crimea.
