How to get from Copenhagen to the Faroe Islands. Why go to the Faroe Islands? Faroe Islands geography

There are many utilities with which you can create a bootable USB flash drive with an operating system or program. Many users abandon the time-tested UltraISO program because of its sophisticated and complex interface. However, as practice shows, images created with the help of this software are recorded very quickly and are extremely rarely obtained with errors. In addition, using this software is very simple. Today we will tell you how to burn Windows to a USB flash drive via UltraISO.

How to write an image to a USB flash drive via ultraiso: preparing for recording

You can download the trial version of the program from the official website of the developers for free. For the full version, you will have to pay about $ 30 (after all, the utility has rich functionality in addition to recording images, but today is not about that).

Since this is not a portable version, you will have to install it. After installation, run the program as administrator. To do this, right-click on the shortcut and select the appropriate item. In the utility window that opens, click "File", then "Open" (for this action there is a hotkey from the Ctrl + O combination). Select the image you want to write to the USB flash drive. Please note that the image always has the extension .iso... To view the file type, go to its properties and see detailed information... After adding the image to the program, in the upper right window you will see the files that make up the image.

If you do not know where you can get an image of the operating system, then you can use a proprietary utility from Microsoft to create a bootable drive (for more details). In addition to creating a bootable USB flash drive, MediaCreationTool can simply download the current version of Windows 10 as an image. Why not immediately use it - you ask? You can do that, but UltraISO has more functionality that can be useful in different situations. In addition, you can create your own image yourself, and not download a ready-made solution, but this is only suitable for advanced users who have some skills.

Insert the drive into a free slot and format the device to the FAT32 file system. When formatting, all existing data on the drives will be erased, so copy all the necessary files to the USB flash drive in advance. The utility also knows how to format drives. If you go to the "Bootstrapping" section at the top of the program window and select the "Burn Hard Disk Image ..." item, you will be taken to the recording settings menu. By selecting the appropriate item in it, the formatting menu familiar to you will open.

After formatting the drive, you can proceed to the rest of the settings. The "Disk Drive" option allows you to select the media from which the bootable drive will be created. Nearby you can put a checkbox in the "Check" item. Due to this, after recording, the integrity of the recorded files will be checked, which will avoid errors in the future. Based on experience, let's say that this item can be skipped. UltraISO is a reliable tool that rarely crashes, but you can play it safe.

Using the line titled "Image File", you can make sure that you have selected the exact image you want. In the adjacent field, check the correctness of the image address. The recording method should be “USB-HDD +”. Hide Boot Partition - no. After that, you can proceed to the process of creating an image using the "Burn" button.

You can perform other actions in the system while recording, but Windows may slow down. As soon as the drive is ready, the program will notify you with a pop-up window with the inscription "Recording completed".

How to burn Windows to a USB flash drive via UltraISO using a folder with files

If you do not have an image with a distribution kit, but there is only a folder with Windows, you can also make a bootable USB flash drive using UltraISO. To do this, in the program at the top of the window, select the "File" menu and click on the item "New" - "Bootable CD / DVD image".

This will open a window offering to download the executable file. In all types of operating systems, it is usually located in the folder Boot... Find a file named bootfix.bin.

If you did everything correctly, the distribution files will appear in the lower right part of the window. All of them must be moved to the upper part of the window (where the files appear if you open .iso). Don't confuse with the folder itself! You only need to discard its contents, not the entire folder! Then the process is no different from what is described above. "Boot" - "Burn hard disk image". The only difference is that you do not need to specify anything in the "Image file" field, leave this line completely blank.

In the upper right part of the window there is an indicator of the overall image size. If it glows red, then sometimes when trying to write an image from the hard disk, an error pops up with the text “ New image crowded". The fix is very simple: right-click on the indicated volume and select the one that fits your image. To solve other problems, you can use the help located in the "Help" menu in the upper right corner of the program window.

Now you can create a bootable USB flash drive using the UltraISO utility. We are sure that there is nothing difficult in this process and even a beginner can do it. This software is not the only one of its kind and it has many analogues, which we will discuss in other publications. After the drive is ready, all that remains is to load it using simple manipulations in the motherboard BIOS and reinstall Windows.

Booting the computer from the installation media

At the time of loading, you must press the key, which is responsible for starting the BIOS settings of the motherboard. The BIOS settings menu is entered by pressing certain keys or even key combinations, and depending on the manufacturer of the motherboard, these buttons may be different. In the list below, you will find all the keys in decreasing order of frequency:

 • The DEL button is the most common.
 • The keys "F1", "F2", "F8" or "F10" are also used quite often.
 • The "TAB" button, which is located on the left side of the keyboard and in addition to the name is indicated by two oppositely directed arrows, is used much less often for the purposes we are considering.
 • If none of the above buttons works, use the combination of simultaneously pressed buttons "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Esc" or "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "S".

If you did everything correctly, then you will be taken to either the BIOS settings menu or the Boot Menu. Boot Menu is part of a lot of motherboard firmware functionality. With its help, you can not delve into numerous configuration items, but immediately boot from the desired drive. If you got into the BIOS itself, then find the Boot tab, and in it, respectively, the Boot Menu, in which also select the desired drive. After that, we save the settings and go to reboot using the F10 key.

Surely no one doubts that UltraISO is one of the best utilities for burning discs. (in terms of recording ISO images, even the legendary NERO cannot oppose anything)... However, not everyone realizes that you can create a bootable USB stick to install Windows or any other operating system.

Are you still installing Windows from an optical disc? - Then we go to you! Unfortunately, many users still believe that it is more difficult and slower to install a system from a USB flash drive ... in fact, there were difficulties before - now it is easier than ever to write an image to a USB flash drive, and with such utilities as UltraISO or Rufus, it even questions the expediency of a DVD drive in general (why is it needed at all ... I have not used it for 10 years for sure!)

Not so long ago, I already published a note about - now I want to tell you more specifically about UltraISO. Of course, experienced ones will write that apart from Rufus nothing is needed ... and, probably, I agree with them. However, do not forget about UltraISO - this program can do something that cannot be done with Rusuf, but more on that later!

To write an ISO image to a USB flash drive through the UltraISO application, we need (oddly enough) the UltraISO utility itself. Softina is paid, but it has 30 days of freebies - a demo period is enough for us - download it from the official website (our language is Russia - the download server does not matter)

There shouldn't be any special problems with the installation. The only recommendation is to uncheck "Associate .iso file with UltraISO" and "Install ISO CD / DVD emulator (ISODrive)" if you do not plan to use the utility in the future.

The next step is to launch UltraISO (it is highly desirable to do this on behalf of the Administrator, especially in Windows 10. To do this, right-click on the shortcut and select "Run as Administrator").

Due to the fact that we have a trial version, when you start in the window "Welcome!" choose "Trial period ..."

I think we sorted it out with the launch and installation - now we turn to the most interesting ...

Burn ISO image to USB drive

If you are looking for a way to record ISOshnik, you probably already have it ... all the misunderstandings in UltraISO are associated with out-of-the-box thinking.

How do I imagine the recording? - Open the program, choose to write the image to a USB flash drive, select the image and press record ... in this utility, everything is a little different!

Open the UltraISO utility and on the main screen click "FILE"> "OPEN ..."

... select the preloaded ISO file with the operating system distribution or any other information ...

In the program interface, in the menu bar, select "Bootstrapping" and click on the "Burn hard disk image ..." item to start the write window to the USB flash drive.

Pay attention to the message of the utility about exceeding the maximum ISO image size in the demo version. Despite the limit of 650 megabytes, I did not have any problems with recording an image of more than 4 gigabytes

In the "Write Disk Image" window, select your USB flash drive, leave the rest as default and click "Write". You must understand that all data on the flash drive will be erased (even if you have a lot of free space).

I myself have not encountered such a situation, but they say sometimes it is necessary to change the recording method - this is usually an exception and is necessary for special images or non-standard computers

You can watch the recording process almost endlessly ... but on a USB3 stick it happens much faster!

You just have to wait until the image is written to the USB flash drive and our bootable media is ready - everything is extremely simple!

Offtopic for UltraISO utility

Of course, now it is most convenient to use Rufus to write an ISO image to a USB flash drive. (this is what I recommend!) ... however UltraISO can write an ISO image to an external HDD or SSD - which of course Rufus and other similar problems cannot!

Instead of a conclusion

The UltraISO utility is good for everyone, but there are already more advanced and free applications for writing bootable flash drives - which makes the program under review not so interesting ... but I consider it a pioneer in writing ISO files to flash drives and it is deservedly considered one of the best!

Hello friends, today I will touch on the topic of bootable media again. I have already written a lot of materials on how to create a bootable USB flash drive. They cover a bunch of tools to do this. Perhaps I will list these articles below. And today we will see.

First, let's see how to write an image to disk, and then to a USB flash drive. This can be done using the UltraISO utility.

How to burn an image to disk via UltraISO

The well-known program UltraISO for working with images allows you to record something on optical media, but also has many other useful functions. I would like to make a review of this wonderful program, but is it necessary? Write in the comments.

To write the image to disk, you must first launch UltraISO. Selecting a section "File" and press "Open"... We select an image, for example, Windows.

The window is divided into four parts, the first shows the directories inside the image, the second section contains files and folders. If the files are loaded in the window, then the image has been selected successfully.

Then go to the tab "Tools"by choosing the option "Burn CD Image" (or click on the button F7). In addition to the above, on the taskbar of the utility there is already a corresponding icon that means writing to a disk, it is shown as a burning optical disk.

Moreover, you will be provided with not only low prices, but also guarantees for the quality execution of any order, as well as the protection of all payments made.

A window opens where we press the button "Burn"... Be sure to insert a disc before doing this.

(At the time of writing the article, my laptop did not have a drive, instead it was a hard drive, so you see such a screenshot, if you have a drive, the write button will be active!)

As you can see, it is very easy to write an image to disc using UltraISO. The disc can be used for its intended purpose.

Well, here we come to the true topic of the article. We will not delay, but get straight to the point.

Now it is desirable to run UltraISO with elevated privileges. Then we select the desired image, as I described above.

In field "Disk Drive" choose your flash drive. It is usually detected automatically. We leave the recording method USB-HDD +. Press the button "Burn".

A message will appear warning that data on the drive has been destroyed. Agree by clicking on the button "YES".

When the creation of the bootable USB drive is finished, the window will display the message "Recording completed".

The USB stick is ready to use.

How to make bootable media using Windows tools

On modern Windows systems, the image icon looks like this.

This means that the system already has a built-in imaging tool. For example, double clicking on the icon will connect the virtual drive.

You can do it as follows: right-click on the image and select the parameter "Burn disk image".

Here I showed three more options for creating bootable media. Now you know how to write an image to a USB flash drive via UltraISO, to an optical disc and how to use the standard Windows tool for recording images.

Going through our site, you probably found quite a few recommendations on the topic - how you can create a bootable USB flash drive for window's 10, and now - even unusual options using the UltraISO program. You do not have this wonderful program yet - do it with us or go to the developer's site and choose the Free Trial option. Installation does not require special knowledge and skills, it is simple and intuitive to understand.

 • "File / File" → "New / New" → "Bootable CD / DVD image"

 • Find the directory "boot" in the folder with the required Windows → file "bootfix" or "bootfix.bin" - depending on your settings, check the parameter "Hide_extensions_for_registered_file_types"

 • In the lower left part of the UltraISO window, find the directory with the required version of Windows and click the left mouse button (LMB), so a list will open in the lower right part.

 • Go to the lower right part of the window and press + [A] - select all
 • Move the cursor over the selected files and hold LMB and drag up, also to the right side.

At the top in the right corner, there may be a red highlight - indicate the required volume of the device:

 • Right-click on the red field and select the volume of your flash drive, the field will change its color to pale green.
