Bear Lakes are located in the Shchelkovsky district of the Moscow region and represent three reservoirs connected to each other by channels.

Initially, there were three lakes at this place. One of the lakes became shallow back in the 19th century and now it is essentially a wetland, therefore the other two lakes are called Big Bear and Small Bear.

Bear Lakes are surrounded by a forest that smoothly merges into the Losiny Ostrov National Park. On the banks of the reservoirs there is the village of Bear Lakes. Shchelkovskoe highway also passes through this place.
