The most beautiful places of the new year. Beautiful cities where you can celebrate the new year. Where to go for the New Year in Europe

This year Moscow is best decorated for the winter holidays! The traditional GUM fair has already unfolded on Red Square. Outwardly, it hardly differs from its predecessors last year, even the attributes are the same. The only thing was added to the design of the festive retro postcards, which this year GUM is decorated with.

1 | The tradition of decorating non-coniferous trees on Red Square also continues. Unusual and beautiful.

2 | Nikolskaya Street is the most beautiful place in New Year's Moscow! Probably, even the street itself thinks that this is just a Christmas dream)

3 | People stand in front of the decorations, as in front of a stage, many cannot hide their delight. The most popular phrase on Nikolskaya: "Like in Europe!" (although many cities in Europe are decorated much more modestly). In second place is the question: "Is this really Moscow?"

4 | The entire street has been turned into a festive light corridor. True, the decorations look more modest from the Lubyanka than from the Red Square.

5 | Decorations of the Tretyakovsky passage have been traditional for a couple of years. From the new - the security guards have learned not to bang on a tripod and now do not equate it with the "spy attribute of the competitors of the shops presented here." How can you not believe in miracles after this?

Last year, one barrier chief tried to forbid me to shoot with a tripod. Sent politely, of course. I did not calm down, I even called a policeman. Was sent a second time, already by the police.

Maybe the guards at White Square are now also not so strange? And then they also looked at the tripod as a weapon.

6 | Ice slide on Revolution Square. Alas, today it thawed a little and was already closed.

7 | Fair at Manezhnaya Square. Great place!

8 | For history)

9 | For the second year, a huge ball appears at Manezhka. Unlike its predecessor, it now shimmers in different colors.

10 | As before, you can go inside. They say the ball makes wishes come true

11 | Bolshoi theater in the crown!

12 | The fountain.

13 | The second most beautiful place after Nikolskaya in the center!

15 | Fair in front of TSUM.

16 | Carousel.

17 | Chic Kamergersky.

18 | Let's go through it.

19 | From the side of Tverskaya on Kamergerskoye, they put the luminous numbers 2016. They are also found in other places of the city - on Trubnaya, Tverskaya, Pushkinskaya.

20 | A cozy fair on Tverskaya Square. The most difficult thing for a photo is to capture a moment without people. There are a lot of people walking, so sometimes you have to wait a long time. I was told that there were photographers who, while waiting for the right moment, managed to read a whole volume of War and Peace!)

23 | And smaller tunnels)

Finland

If you are looking for where to fly on New Year 2020 with a group of friends, take a look at Finland.

Finns prefer to celebrate the holiday not on the streets, but with their families, therefore a good option would be to rent a cottage for the period of Christmas and New Year holidays.

You can rent both a lonely house in the middle of the forest, and a cottage located near ski resorts and SPA centers - depending on which type of vacation is closer to you.

Popular ski resorts where you can celebrate the New Year in Finland are Levi and Saariselkä. And for those who choose where to go for the New Year with children, you can advise the vicinity of the city of Rovaniemi in Lapland - from there it is easy to get to the residence of Santa Claus.

In Helsinki, the center of festivities is located on Senate Square, where fireworks are launched. Switzerland

Switzerland has a big advantage over other European countries - in late December and January there is almost always snow (at least in the mountains). Real, shaggy, lying in large snowdrifts along streets and houses.

If you want to catch the holiday itself, it is better to go to Switzerland for Christmas, since the New Year is practically not celebrated in this country. For noisy festivities and festive fun it is worth choosing one of the major cities - Christmas markets are held there, sweets and souvenirs are sold.

If you want peace, you should choose one of the ski resorts: the celebrations there are not so large-scale, but there is an opportunity to enjoy the privacy and beautiful mountain landscapes.

The best option, in our opinion, is to celebrate Christmas in the city, and then go skiing or snowboarding to one of the Swiss resorts.

Flights. Air tickets to Zurich in December cost from 13,900 rubles; to Geneva - a little more expensive. Search for tickets to Switzerland →

Hotels. On the outskirts of Zurich, 2-3 star hotels can be rented for no less than 6,000 rubles, closer to the city center - even more expensive. The cost of more fashionable hotels is from 10,000 rubles per night. Find hotels in Zurich →.

In Geneva, hotel accommodation during the New Year holidays will cost 10-20% less.

Another good option is to celebrate the New Year in one of the restaurants in Rome, just book your seats in advance. There are numerous cafes and stalls where you can buy food and drinks. Before the trip, we recommend reading about the Prices in Italy for food and products.

Thailand

One of the most popular Asian New Year travel destinations is Thailand. Bangkok and Thailand's beach resorts Phuket and Pattaya are good places to celebrate.

In Bangkok, the holiday is celebrated everywhere, but the coolest place is the square in front of the Central World shopping center, where thousands of people gather to count down the last seconds of the outgoing year.

Then you can go to the Sirocco Mediterranean restaurant located on the 63rd floor of the skyscraper, or take a cruise along the Chao Phraya River - with cocktails and ten kinds of Thai dishes.

Going on vacation to Thailand, read our article Where is the best to go: Phuket or Pattaya. She will help you choose the right resort for your vacation.

If you are interested in inexpensive beach holidays abroad for the New Year, you can spend New Year's holidays in Phuket. In December and January there is excellent weather, the sea is suitable for swimming, there are all conditions for families with children.

For fans of noisy parties, we recommend going to the Koh Phangan for New Year 2020, where a grandiose New Year's party is held on the kilometer-long beach, gathering 20,000-30,000 people. It is better to book accommodation a few months before the New Year. And don't forget the buckets.

How to relax for the New Year cheaper

  1. The most important - try to buy hotels and tickets as early as possible (in September - November, or generally in summer). Wherever you go, as the New Year approaches, prices for tours and self-catering are growing every day.
  2. If it is not critical for you to celebrate the New Year directly abroad, but you want to plunge into the European Christmas culture or go to the sea and the beach, look for options with a return BEFORE or departure AFTER New Year's Eve. Such options can cost several times cheaper than a trip that includes New Year's Eve.
  3. Sales in Europe start in January - if shopping is important to you, plan your holidays for the New Year so as not to return to Russia at the very beginning of January.

We hope this selection of countries for holidays for the New Year 2020 in Russia and abroad will help you decide on a vacation spot for the New Year holidays!

Planning your vacation yet? We will be glad to receive your comments, recommendations and feedback!

  1. Plan your holiday break from December 24th or even earlier. Then you will be able to choose the most favorable tour in terms of price-quality ratio.
  2. Consider non-standard countries and cities for your New Year's holiday. In any case, you will be satisfied, because the New Year is an international holiday.
  3. Choose tours based on the company in which you are going to relax. For example, families with children will surely like Finland, where there is a residence of the Finnish Santa Claus and a school for young skiers.
