The Alliance Although loses by the number of participants (26 airlines) and (20 airlines), but on the total size of the fleet and the number of destination items goes with Skaytim almost in the same time. In many ways, due to the fact that the key airlines Alliance - the huge amount of American Fleet and Big Qatar Airways, British Airways, Qantas and Latam.

If we talk about airlines from Europe, then there are three of them in OneWorld:

  • british British Airways.
  • finnish;
  • and Spanish Iberia.

Russia is represented in OneWorld Airlines S7 Airlines, which before joining the International Alliance significantly improved the quality of service, updated the aircraft park, replacing outdated Soviet aircraft on modern Airbus, Boeing and Embraer liners. Now the carrier fully complies with all international safety standards and quality of service.

Perhaps, over time, ONEWORLD will have another air carrier from Russia, but at the moment the Alliance declares its plans to expand its presence in other regions - especially in Africa and in China. There, OneWorld is practically presented now, unlike Star Alliance and SkyTeam.

Bonus programs of airline - members of OneWorld

There is no bonus program under a single brand in OneWorld, but all participating airlines recognize bonus points of other alliance partners. It is enough to register in one bonus program of any of the members of the Alliance and on this bonus account to save points from any flights committed on the flights of the OneWorld participants.

Accumulated points can also be spent on the services of any airline alliance. But it looks like a list of privileges, which opens for participants of the OneWorld bonus program:

The main thing is that it is not required to register in several programs of different carriers - it is convenient!

And one more distinctive feature of the OneWorld Alliance bonus program. You can save points not only on flights of full participants in the Alliance, but also affiliate airlines (as a rule of subsidiaries for one or another carrier).

oneWorld: Security and Incidents

Today, OneWorld places very strict requirements for airlines that are its members. Security standards are united for the entire alliance. Before entering, each airline passes a number of serious certification procedures. They show its compliance with the requirements and standards.

Each airline that claims to enter OneWorld passes an external audit. It includes a company check for 118 points. Most of them are associated with security.

We checked international aircraft databases to find all the incidents with the dead, which happened to airline airplanes in Oneworld.

  • American Airlines's liners have happened at once two planes from the moment of its entry into OneWorld. Two passenger aircraft were destroyed on September 11, 2001 during the terrorist attacks in New York. And in November of the same year Airbus A300 crashed - the aircraft fell off the tail stabilizer. 260 people died on board.
  • In July 2007, Airbus A320 Lan Brasil Airlines (now Latam Airlines Brasil) when landing in Sao Paulo rolled out beyond the runway and crashed into a warehouse building. All 187 passengers died, as well as the crew and 12 people on Earth.
  • In August 2011, when entering the landing, Boeing 737 LAN Colombia (now Latam Airlines Colombia) collapsed. 2 people died, 114 were injured. The cause of the catastrophe is a zipper into a plane.
  • Two catastrophes in 2014 happened to Malaysia Airlines liners. In March, it disappeared from radar screens flight MH370, which was performed on Boeing 777. There were 239 passengers on board. It is still unknown even the approximate place of the aircraft. The second liner (also Boeing 777) was shot down in July of the same year in the sky over Ukraine. Killed 298 people who were on board.

Note! We analyzed the catastrophe with airplanes by a busy airline only from the moment of its entry into the alliance! We only took into account the incidents that caused the death of passengers.

There were also several crashes and cases of the death of aircraft from different airlines, but they were without the death of passengers or people on Earth. Catastrophes with S7 Airlines liners happened long before the airline entry to the Alliance.

ONEWORLD development prospects

For all international alliances, one of the most promising markets is now Indian. There, OneWorld is not represented now. Also in the Alliance there are no African airlines or often flying in Africa countries. It is logical to assume that these are the main directions of the development of the alliance.

On the other hand, ONEWORLD is a strong representation in most Latin America countries, thanks to Latam airline. And in Asia airlines Malaysia Airlines and Srilankan.

Perhaps, in the near future, another or more airlines from Europe will enter the Alliance. And in 2018 it is expected to join the Alliance of the National Airlines of the Republic of Fiji - Fiji Airlines (in the past - Air Pacific).

Airlines - members of the Alliance and their divisions are characterized by a high degree of cooperation in planning, ticketing tickets, loyalty programs, links for flights, sharing terminals of airports, which reduces costs and allows you to share experiences. Combines 15 airlines, including S7 Airlines, British Airways, American Airlines, Airberlin, Finnair and Iberia.

The Russian airline S7 Airlines (former Siberia), the largest in Russia in Russia in the number of passengers transported on internal airlines, from Monday became a full participant in the global Aviation Alliance OneWorld ("One World" with English. - "One World"). "Entry into the alliance will strengthen our financial position by increasing the income from the passengers of other members of the Alliance, which will be used by the routes of our network," says S7 Airlines General Director. In addition, according to him, membership in OneWorld will allow the airline to reduce costs: S7 will receive access to the total resources of the alliance.

ONEWORLD Alliance includes airlines such as American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Lan Airlines, Malev Hungarian Airlines, Mexicana, Qantas and Royal Jordanian, as well as about 20 affiliate airlines. OneWorld is the third of the existing world aviation alliances along with Star Alliance and SkyTeam.

The S7 became the second Russian airline that joined the international avialyant.

In 2006, Aeroflot, the largest airline of Russia, became a member of the Alliance Sky Team (Alitalia, CSA). In argue that the international route network of the Alliance allowed the airline to attract new passengers. In 2006, he invited the Russian AIRUNION Aviation Alliance to enter Star Alliance, but in 2008 AIRUNION went bankrupt.

Actively move towards international markets S7 began a few years ago, when the company was still called Siberia. S7 One of the first Russian airlines moved from the Russian appliances to a foreign one, one of the first introduced an electronic ticket instead of paper blanks. At rebranding and renaming the company in S7 was spent about $ 5 million, the purpose of these procedures was and an attempt to get rid of the image of the company-failed. In 2004, as it is known, suicide terrorists blew up the Siberian plane - Tu-154. And the last A310 catastrophe in Irkutsk (in July 2006) happened in the midst of the rebranding campaign, which caused an additional blow to the airline. Entry into ONEWORLD Alliance imposes additional flight safety obligations on S7.

However, in the tragedy associated with the terrorist attack, to blame the airline is difficult, says the head of the Analytical Department of the Airport. And the difference between the provincial Novosibirsk airline Siberia, which flew five ice back, and the S7, which was seen a year and a half ago at first meetings, representatives of British Airways, obvious, he recognizes. However,

the adoption of S7 in the Alliance is rather an advance, which in the future she will still have to justify

experts consider. Aeroflot before joining Sky Team had a serious international route network and easily integrated into the Alliance. S7 integration will be more difficult. Because of the problems with obtaining commercial rights to international flights (flights between Russia and other countries are governed by individual intergovernmental agreements), the commercial network of international S7 routes is developed not as oneworld would like.

In addition to S7, another Russian airlines are of interest for international alliances - "UTair" and, which have a good branched route network. But in the companies themselves, there are no such plans yet. "There are examples of carriers who have entered alliances, and it did not help them successful. Therefore, an option to join the Alliance Our management is considering at the angle of successful development in the future, "- CEUs the general director of Transaero. According to her, only if the airline sees that entry into one of the global alliances will benefit the company, primarily passengers, Transaero will consider such an opportunity. Now Transaero is developing bilateral cooperation with leading world carriers, increases the number of agreements with them.

Today there are several aviation alliances in the world, but only three of them have the greatest weight and significance. Founded in 1999, the OneWorld Alliance enters this top three leaders. It has 45 airlines, both full participants and affiliated.

The story of the formation of the "Unified World"

Alliance OneWorld is the first aviation community that began to apply a centralized system for managing its flights. The headquarters of the Union is in. Management is carried out by the managing partner and the Board, whose members are the leaders of airlines of full participants of the Alliance. Today, OneWorld performs regular flights to 152 countries of the world in 992 directions. The cumulative passenger traffic is about 500 million people per year.

The official date of the creation of the Alliance is considered to be February 1, 1999, when OneWorld began its operating activities. However, the agreement on this issue was accepted by the year early, five airlines: the American, Canadian, British national carrier, Australian, who has a nickname "Flying Kangaroo" and the Hong Kong flagship Cathay Pacific. In 1999, the Spanish National Airlines and the Finnish flagship joined the newly formed carrier union.

In 2009, the Mexican flagship joined the Alliance, which took place in Star Alliance, and a year later, the Russian airline was part of the staff as a full participant. In 2014, also after the release of Star Alliance, the Brazilian flagship was joined to OneWorld.

OneWorld in the Unified World of Airports

Since one of the advantages of airliners is a priority registration for flight and convenient location, they all try to accumulate in the main. The combined alliance reception racks can be found at Barajas International Airport, Terminal 4 (Madrid, Spain), at the airport. J. F. Kennedy, Terminal 8 (New York, USA), Domodedovo (Moscow, Russia), Charles de Gaulle Airport (Paris, France) and others.

Single corporate style

Airplanes Participants of the Alliance have a special logo on the entrance door. Also, aircraft of permanent participants are closed in a special livery, which occupies almost the entire aircraft of the aircraft and makes them noticeable at a high distance.

ONEWORLD privileges for frequent flying passengers

Depending on the status, passengers are provided with the following advantages:

  • priority registration, the ability to choose a place in the cabin of the aircraft, an additional luggage.
  • access to high-needed waiting rooms (more than 550 worldwide), accelerated passage of pre-flight inspection.
  • using accumulated miles for travel around the world, improving the service class, the ability to transfer the accumulated miles to another user.

Improving the status of the user and an increase in the list of privileges depends on the number of flights performed by them for one calendar year.

Aviation Alliances are one of the main concepts that any tourist should know. I will try to briefly explain why these knowledge will help save on flights.

Three global aviation alliances

Currently, there are three global airlines alliances in the world: SkyTeam (Skaytim), Star Alliance (Star Alliance), OneWorld (Van Verld).

Airlines are combined into alliances in order to reduce air transportation costs, optimizing business processes and passenger traffic growth. But we are not quite interesting to us all the usual passengers.

The airlines inside the alliance unify the following elements:

- Booking system

- bonus programs for passengers

- Enter joint flights

- Coordinate flight schedules.

Speaking easier, when organizing connecting flights is easier, cheaper and more convenient to fly by airplanes of one aviation alliance. When organizing your travels in Asia, the United States, Europe and other areas, I always use flights only within the framework of one aviation alliance, thanks to which there was already a lot of money.

Get acquainted with all alliances closer.

Alliance Airlines SkyTeam (Skaytim)

This is the second largest aviation alliance in the world. I can say for sure that the Russians and especially the inhabitants of the Far East most often use it with its services. Indeed, the Alliance includes Aeroflot - Russian Airlines (Aeroflot - RussianaInes) and Koreanair (Korean Eyre), widely represented in Vladivostok.

In addition to them, the following airlines include as part of the Alliance:

Europe:

Air Europa (Eyrevrope)

AIR FRANCE (Eyrfrans)

Alitalia (Alitalia)

CSA - Czechairlines (CSA - Czech Airlines)

Asia:

ChinaAeasternairlines (Chinese Eastern Airlines)

China Southern Airlines (ChineseAnnyAvalia)

Garuda Indonesia Airways (Garudindoneesia)

Vietnam Airlines (VietnameseValia)

Xiamen Airlines (XiameniAviavia)

America:

Aerolineas Argentinas (Argentina Airlines)

Aeromexico (Aeromexic)

Delta Air Lines (Deltaireline)

Africa and Middle East:

Kenya Airways (Kenyaairez)

Saudi Arabian Airlines (SaudiarabianaLyleline

Tarom (Tarom)

I believe that SkyTeam (Skaytim) is particularly well suited to Russian passengers when organizing flights in Europe.

Alliance Airlines ONEWORLD (Van Verld)

While this is the smallest aviation alliance, but it is rapidly gaining momentum. I have already flown the alliance with airplanes several times, and I especially want to note the favorable offers that the clients can take advantage.

In Russia, the Alliance participant has recently become the airline S7 Airlines, also actively represented in Vladivostok.

Other members of the Alliance:

Europe:

Air Berlin (Eyrberlin)

British Airways (BritishValia)

Iberia (Iberia)

Finnair (Finnair)

Asia:

Cathay Pacific (horizontalization)

Japanairlines - Jal (Japanese Airlines - Jal)

Malaysiaairlines (Malaysia Airlines)

SRILANKANAIRLINES (Sri Lanka Airlines)

America:

Americanairlines (American Airlines)

Lanairlines (Lan Airlines)

Mexicana (Mexican)

Tamlinhasaereas (there Airlines)

USAIRWAYS (YUS EYRVAZ)

Australia and Middle East:

Qantas (Quotas)

Qatarairways (Qatari Airlines)

Royaljordanianairlines (Royal Jordanian Airlines)

In my opinion, OneWorld is very well suited for flights in Asia and in the USA.

Star Alliance Airlines Alliance (Star Alliance)

This is the oldest and largest aviation alliance in the world, but I put it late in my review. This is due to the fact that so far no Russian airline is involved in this alliance.

Members of the Alliance:

Europe:

ADRIA AIRWAYS (Adria Airway)

AEGEAN AIRLINES (Aegean Airlines)

Austrianairlines (Austrian Airlines)

BrusselSairlines (Brussels Airlines)

Croatiaairlines (Cross Airlines)

Lotpolishairlines (Lot Polish Airlines)

Lufthansa (Lufthansa)

SAS - Scandinavianairlines (CAC - Scandinavian Airlines)

Spanair (Sponair)

Swiss International Air Lines (Svissyryneshnlaleline)

TAP PORTUGAL (TAPPORTUGAL)

Turkish Airlines (Turkishaviavia)

Asia:

Air China (Eyrrecina)

Thai Airways (ThaiAviavia)

Singapore Airlines (Singaporeviavia)

All Nippon Airways (Allniponairweep)

Asiana Airlines (AsianaLine)

Eva Air (Evaeir)

America:

AIRCANADA (Air Canada)

Unitedairlines (United Airlines)

Australia, New Zealand, Africa:

Air New Zealand (Eyrnyuziland)

Egyptair (ijhipteir)

Ethiopian Airlines (EthiopianaLine)

South African Airways (Sauzafrikanway)

The coverage of the alliance allows you to plan the flights with it almost in any part of the world.

The most important thing
