Due to the fact that the pull-up points were located in different time zones, the action started in Sydney (Australia), continued in Asia, Europe and Africa and ended in Los Angeles (USA). Russia became the winner of the action - 9 thousand Russians, who together pulled themselves up 122 thousand times, led their country to victory. This year Muscovites and guests of the capital have the opportunity to break their own record.

The strongest will be revealed among the athletes
Several major competitions will be held within the framework of the City Day in Luzhniki. More than a hundred athletes will take part in the open workout festival, within which competitions will be held in four disciplines.
Among 25 athletes, the best in the Russian Strongman Cup will be identified. Jeff Monson, an American and Russian athlete performing in mixed martial arts and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, will be a special guest of the event. Monson is a two-time ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship winner and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion.

If you love speed and technique, then several sites will attract your attention at once. Do you love Formula 1? Then you will not be left indifferent by the platform with the "Formula-1 of the XXI century".
It is a modern racing sport at the intersection of computer games and technical creativity. Competitions are races on radio-controlled drones (quadcopters). Vladimir Meshcheryakov, winner of the last year's World Championship held in Dubai, will compete in this unique sport.
For those who like to conquer the air, a real drone school will be presented at one of the Luzhniki sites.
All visitors of the festival will be able to try their hand at the races of radio-controlled off-road vehicles, which will be held on a specially designed track.

On the City Day, Luzhniki will host the Autumn Festival of Student and Youth Sports - a traditional sports festival for students and youth of the capital, which includes tournaments and entertainment zones in its program.

FOR THE CAPITAL GYMNASTS, NUMBER 13 WAS HAPPY
The Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championship has ended in the Italian city of Pesaro. The Russian national team took first place in the overall team classification, having won 13 medals. All these awards are the merit of Moscow athletes.
In Italy these days eight sets of awards were played. Moscow gymnasts won seven gold medals out of eight. The Russians also have five silver medals and one bronze medal.
Sisters Dina and Arina Averina won most of the gold medals. Dina has three gold medals on her account - in exercises with a hoop, with clubs and in personal all-around. Arina was the best in ball and ribbon exercises. In addition, the Averins have four silver medals and one bronze medal in individual competitions.
By the way, for the Averin sisters, this world championship was the debut in their careers. Experts doubted whether Muscovites would cope with the excitement. We did it! - When I won the hoop, I was happy, but when I took second place with the ball, I was even happier, because I understood: my sister has a gold medal and I have. I think we did our best. We are lucky that we support each other so and always insure, - admitted Dina.
Only on the decisive day of the competition, according to the results of the all-around, Dina outstripped her sister in the number of gold medals, becoming the absolute world champion.
Pleasant tiredness! These are medals earned so hard! - Dina summed up. - There were tears of joy, and when Arisha still met me and we hugged, then we began to cry together with happiness. I'm very happy! It all worked out so well.
The success of Dina and Arina Averinykh was commented on by the vice-president of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics (VFHG) Tatyana Gorbunova.
We always expect that we will have only gold, but all the same, this is a sport, this is a matter of chance, these are children, after all, who first entered the world arena, '' Tatiana noted. - But the fact that they did not make mistakes the first time and won all the gold suggests that they are real champions. It’s so fortunate that we have two of them! Muscovites Anastasia Bliznyuk, Evgenia Levanova, Ksenia Polyakova, Anastasia Tatareva, Maria Tolkacheva and Maria Kravtsova won two gold medals as part of the Russian team.
First, they won in the group all-around, and on the last day of competition, in the group exercises with three balls and two ropes.
We went for a very long time towards this, it was very difficult, - says the head of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics Irina Viner-Usmanova. - We made a lot of substitutions. The last change was the inclusion of the Olympic champion Nastya Tatareva, who had an old injury. But she pulled herself together. And when Sophia Skomorokh was injured with us, but could still continue to perform, I decided that Nastya Tatareva would get up, because she is more experienced. And so she became the world champion.

OUR DUET GATHERED THE WORLD'S STRONGEST FIVE FIGHTERS
The Russians won the Kremlin Cup in modern pentathlon. Athletes competed in swimming, fencing, show jumping, shooting and running.
The Kremlin Cup has been held since 2011. The tournament was conceived as a competition for the stars of modern pentathlon and has become one of the central events of the world sports calendar. Competitions were held in the discipline "mixed relay". Each of the 12 teams brought to Moscow a mixed duet - an athlete and an athlete. Russia fielded a couple - Alexander Lesun and Gulnaz Gubaidullina.
The strongest pentathletes of the world gathered in Moscow - 48 athletes from 11 countries took part in the tournament. The largest prize fund in the history of this sport was drawn. The victory was shared by the Muscovite Alexander Lesun and Gulnaz Gubaidullina, who plays for the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and the Moscow Region.
The competition started in the pool, where Alexander and Gulnaz immediately became the leaders. The most intense struggle took place at the running distance with shooting.
The athletes started a few seconds apart, but the Muscovite managed to bypass all the rivals.
As a result, the victory went to the Russian duo.
In addition to the main pair, Russia was represented at the competition by a youthful duet - Sergei Baranov and Adelina Ibatullina. Their twelfth final place speaks only of the most serious composition of the Kremlin Cup participants. The Cup competitions were held at several venues.
Swimmers competed in the CSKA swimming pool, fencers were hosted by the Martial Arts Palace. Show jumping and harvester (running and shooting), as well as the opening ceremony and awarding of the winners took place at the equestrian center of CSKA.
By the way, modern pentathlon is becoming more and more popular. Next year in the capital, in the Severny district, the world's largest sports complex for this sport will be opened. It will host both training camps and international competitions.
