We visited Protasov Yar on Sunday. We arrived at the opening. In the morning there weren't many people skating, but after lunch it was necessary to go downstairs carefully so as not to catch anyone. The number of skiers and snowboarders increased significantly.
For Kiev residents, the Protasov Yar Ski Complex is an excellent alternative where you can go skiing and snowboarding in Kiev. Moreover, it is good to train in the complex, there are many instructors. We saw absolutely crumbs, only three years old, who are happy to receive skating lessons.
Night skiing on Protasov
In addition to daytime skiing on the Protasov Yar, you can also ski at night. Night skiing is open from Saturday to Sunday. The complex is equipped with special lighting on the slopes, which makes it easy to ride. Lifts and equipment rental are open from 22.30 to 4.00. The lifts can be used without restrictions. There is a café for skiers and snowboarders to keep warm. It is open until 5:00 am (until the first train of the Moscow metro).
The cost of night skiing on Protasov is 300 UAH. The price includes an unlimited number of climbs and exits to the snow and a deposit for the card. Equipment rental is available at weekend rates.
After 2:00 am the cost of night skiing is 150 UAH. (unlimited use of the ski lifts and access to the snow, taking into account the deposit for the card).

We liked the ski complex Protasov Yar more than Vyshgora and Gvozdov ... The tracks are much larger and wider, especially in Kiev. Night skiing is available, which is not unimportant. Equipment rental is expensive, in our opinion, but in Kiev it is not a problem. We will definitely visit Protasov. After all, with the onset ski season I want to ride even more!)

How to get to the slides?
Those who are just starting to get acquainted with winter sports are often interested in how they can get to the ski complex. It is quite easy to do this by car or public transport... How to get to the ski slopes and by what transport? The answer here is simple: those who live far from this area will first have to take a ride on the subway, and then change to route taxi... If guests follow to the Vokzalnaya metro stop, then they will need to take a minibus from No. 198 to a stop next to the Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery. From the metro called Olimpiyskaya, minibuses No. 450 and 495, as well as trolleybus No. 40, go directly to the complex.
Ski trails
The ski complex "Protasov Yar" offers its guests as many as 4 slopes of varying difficulty.
The simplest and shortest is the 150-meter-long children's learning slope. Next in length and difficulty is the track for those who have just started skiing or snowboarding. Its length is 275 meters, and the height difference is small - about 60 meters.
There is a 500 meter long trail at your service. This is a combined slope that is perfect for those who are already quite confident in snowboarding and skiing, but strive to improve their skills and just have fun. The difference in height here is 60-80 meters.
There is also a special track for professionals on the territory of the complex, which has even been certified by the International Ski Federation. Its length is 320 meters, and the height difference is as much as 80 meters. This slope is perfect for the most experienced skiers and even for real athletes.
Lift prices
There are 2 ski lifts on the territory of the city ski resort. Both of them are tow-type, however one of them is single and the other is double. To use them, any visitor must purchase a special card called a ski pass at any ticket office of the Protasov Yar complex.
Prices for 1 lift depend on the type of lift and the length of stay. For example, in the high season (December 21 - March 9) a single trip on a small and large lift from 10 am to 6 pm will cost 12 hryvnia, from 18 to 22 hours - 15 hryvnia. On holidays and weekends, a small lift will cost 25 hryvnia, and a large one - 30. Stay in the complex up to 6 hours or the so-called going out on the ice is paid separately here: 25 hryvnia on weekdays and 40 on weekends and holidays. To convert these prices into rubles, it is worth considering that one hryvnia costs an average of 21 rubles.
For those who often visit the ski complex, it is more profitable to purchase season tickets. The slope entrance fee is already included in them. There are two types of such subscriptions:
- "Morning", which gives the right to unlimited visits from 10 am to 15 pm. Its cost in the high season is 3000 hryvnia.
- "Unlimited", which does not apply only to night skiing. Such a subscription costs 9000 hryvnia in high season.
Skating training on the territory of the "Protasov Yar" complex
If visitors to the ski complex in Kiev want to ski or snowboard for the first time, they can use the services of special schools at any time. It is worth remembering that beginners should definitely learn from professionals, because alpine skiing is quite traumatic. A competent instructor will not only teach you how to go down the slopes well, but also show you how to fall correctly so as not to get serious injuries.
As many as six specialized educational institutions cooperate with the Protasov Yar resort. The instructor of any of the schools will always help with the choice of suitable equipment (if the visitor does not have it yet), help to make the first correct movements on skis and snowboard, teach you how to ride on simple slopes, and then on more difficult routes... At the same time, the services of schools can be used by people who have never stood on a snowboard or alpine skiing and those who already skate well, but want to improve their skills.
Other services for visitors to the complex
Most often on ski slopes people come with their inventory. If some of the visitors do not have it, then you can contact the local point where they offer ski rental. "Protasov Yar" provides vacationers with any necessary equipment, from skis and boards to helmets and masks. You can rent separate missing items or a whole set at once. Fitting takes place right at the rental point.
The complex has special storage rooms where everyone can leave small items. They are located at equipment rental locations and work as long as the lifts function. You can use the storage service for 20 hryvnia.
At the resort "Protasov Yar", if you wish, you can arrange some kind of event. Companies often use this service to organize a corporate party. Such a holiday will be remembered for a long time by all employees. But it should be borne in mind that on these days from 15:40 to 18:00 athletes train on the slopes and slopes, so ordinary skiers are not allowed there at this time. But on Saturdays, night skating is practiced. The trails are open from 10 am to 4 pm the next day.
Trails and lifts
Of course, in Kiev there are not mountains, but only hills. Therefore, the ski complex "Protasov Yar" for a long time had only three slopes. Two of them have a vertical drop of 70 meters. But one track is steep and the other is flat. They are also different in length. A steep track stretches for 500 meters, a gentle one - for three hundred. There is also a training descent designed for beginners. Its length is 150 meters. The fourth, a short track, was recently opened. There is also a special park for snowboarders with a complex of jumps and rails. The ski lifts also correspond to the tracks. There are two of them, and they are all drag drag. There are lifts for two and one person. Their lengths are 650 and 350 meters. Lines may form to the lifts. But you usually don't have to wait too long - a maximum of 15 minutes. The track for athletes has an international certificate, and members of the Olympic team train there. There are five ski schools on the territory of this complex.
Complex "Protasov Yar": prices, where to stay
This ski resort has both one-time tickets and season passes. Night skiing is paid as unlimited - 300 hryvnia (a little more than 610 rubles) from ten in the evening to four in the morning. But most of the time, skiers pay for one-off climbs. On weekdays, until six in the evening, the price of one rope rope to the top of the slope is 15 hryvnia (30 rubles), and after 18:00 - 20 (41 rubles). On weekends and holidays, the cost of the lift increases. This is a common practice for ski resorts. A one-time rise on Sundays and holidays costs 35 hryvnia (71 rubles). Would you like to buy a season ski pass? For this you will have to pay at least 2500 hryvnia (5105 rubles). Ski rental in "Protasovy Yar" costs 200 UAH. (410 rubles) per day, and a snowboard - 250 UAH. (510 rubles). However, prices may change depending on the season. There is also a hotel in Protasov Yar where you can stay for a weekend so as not to break away from skiing. This is a mini-hotel "Fortel". A double room costs from 450 hryvnia (920 rubles). There are also two cafes on the mountain. One of them is located at the very top of the ski slope and offers a good panoramic view. This is the Do-Ski restaurant. The cost of an average dish in these cafes is from 80 hryvnia (163 rubles). They serve home cooking, good coffee and mulled wine. On Saturday, cafes are open until six in the morning, until the metro begins to run in the capital.

Slavske
The ski slopes of the Slavskoe ski resort are located on 4 mountains: Trostyan, Pogar, Menchil and Vysoky Verkh.
On Mount Trostyan there are 11 tracks with a total length of 22 km. Mount Pogar is a place for extreme skiing. There is a certified track for holding a slalom competition, as well as tracks for freestyle, hang-gliding, giant slalom. There are 4 trails for beginners on the Menchil mountain, and on the Vysoky Verkh mountain there is ski area with ski fields.
Bukovel
Bukovel is located at an altitude of 850-1372 meters above sea level near the village of Polyanytsya. Its ski slopes stretch for a total of 51 kilometers (three roads - Dovga, Bukovel and Chornaya Kleva). These are mainly tracks of medium difficulty, but there are also black tracks for pros and blue ones for beginners.

Protasov Yar
