Actions after receiving the RVP

In 2019, obtaining a temporary residence permit is a rather difficult process, which in itself requires a significant waste of time. But this is far from the final stage, and if you intend to gain a foothold in the Russian Federation for a long time, this is only the first step on the way to obtaining Russian citizenship. Regardless of which scheme you go through - standard clearance, temporary asylum, or another system, you will need to know what to do next.

So, what to do after receiving the TRP in 2019? You have submitted an application, submitted all the necessary documents, waited a certain period of time and acquired a long-awaited permit - what should you do next? After that, you should not relax, as you will find a number of labor-intensive operations that require some knowledge in the field of jurisprudence. And the first such operation is obtaining a residence permit, which is also registration after receiving a TRP.

Nowadays, registration at the place of actual residence is erroneously called registration. Many years ago, this term was relevant, but soon the propiska institution was changed to registration at the place of residence. But such a term as “propiska” can still be found even on legal portals, which sometimes confuses people.

According to the laws of 2019, registration at the place of stay must be done within a week from the date of receipt of a temporary residence permit in the Russian Federation.

To apply for it, you need to contact the local branch of the Federal Migration Service - in this case, binding on a territorial basis is very important. In the application for a residence permit, you must indicate the address of the residential area at which you intend to register.

If you cannot register at the place of stay, you must register with the migration authorities. It is worth recalling that this is not a recommendation, but rules that must be strictly followed. And if you do not follow these instructions within the allotted time, then administrative responsibility will await you. And repeated administrative responsibility, according to the rules of 2019, can be the reason for depriving you of the RVP, so it’s better not to joke with this.

Confirmation

The next step is to confirm the TRP. It must be completed within 60 days of the receipt of the permit. To do this, you must send a notification to the local branch of the FMS. With this notification, you inform the migration services that you live at the specified address and officially carry out labor activities. To confirm your income, you will need a relevant certificate from the tax office.

After all these procedures, you can freely live in Russia for three years. It is impossible to extend the TRP, according to the laws of 2019. Do not forget that you do not have the right to arbitrarily change your place of residence during these three years.

You can change your place of residence only in certain cases:

  • If you own housing in another subject of the Russian Federation;
  • If your family members live in another subject of the Russian Federation;
  • If you intend to take part in the State program for the resettlement of compatriots (not to be confused with the provision of temporary asylum).

You can also work only on the territory of the subject of the Russian Federation in which you received the TRP.

Resident card

If three years of residence in Russia is enough for you, and you do not need additional registration after the temporary residence permit, you can do nothing after obtaining the temporary residence permit and registration. But if you intend to become a full-fledged citizen of the country and apply for a Russian passport, your next step will be to obtain a residence permit. This will become available to you only after you have lived more than two and a half years in Russia.

Residents of Belarus and Turkmenistan can immediately obtain a residence permit, without a temporary residence permit. In addition, you can even skip this stage and immediately apply for citizenship. It is available to the following categories of citizens:

  • High-class specialists and their relatives;
  • People recognized as native speakers of the Russian language.

After obtaining a residence permit, you can already make yourself Russian citizenship - this is the procedure in 2019.

What to do after registration of the TRP for those who received temporary asylum?

Temporary shelter requires special consideration. If you have used temporary asylum in the Russian Federation and want to continue living here, you need to obtain a temporary residence permit - there is no other procedure for 2019. Do not think that the TRP will invalidate your right to temporary asylum - it will still remain valid.

After that, the RVP confirmation procedure awaits you - it is performed according to the same standard scheme. You will need to send a notice to the Federal Migration Service that you are officially working and earning income while living at a registered address. Even if you used asylum and did not receive a TRP, you must follow this procedure.

Unlike a temporary residence permit, temporary asylum can be extended. To do this, you need to submit an appropriate application to the FMS 30 days before your temporary shelter expired.

In 2019, you can often find announcements of assistance in obtaining the right to temporary residence, and this is especially true for TRP in Moscow. Many sites and businesses promise to help with the design and promise to complete everything in the shortest possible time. The price of the issue is usually considerable, but still, many people find it easier to buy a permit, no matter how much it costs, than to do it yourself.

But this is just a common misconception. Yes, many law firms provide real help by helping people put together the right course of action and providing the necessary advice. But usually you have to deal with ordinary crooks who simply disappear after receiving the money. The fact is that in 2019 the TRP is issued by the FMS, a public service that works without intermediaries. Accordingly, it is not clear what kind of assistance these numerous one-day firms offer.

Of course, we can talk about FMS employees who do everything around the law, but using such services is, to put it mildly, risky. Follow our instructions, remember our tips, and you will be able to do everything yourself, at no additional cost.
