Before collecting documents for obtaining a visa to Finland, you need to figure out which type of visa is needed for departure.

There are the following types of visas:

  • One-time tourist for 3 months. The document indicates or the number of days to which the visa is open, or the date to which it acts;
  • Schengen multivisa. Since Finland is among the countries participating in the Schengen Statement, it is possible to get into the country according to the standard document without additional difficulties. This document gives the right to stay in the country within 90 days;
  • Transit visa allows the traveler to drive through Finland, but it is necessary to leave it not later than in 5 days;
  • The return visa is not issued to the country in the Consulate of Finland in St. Petersburg or other cities, it gives her local police a citizen of a foreign state, which arrived on a tourist pass and who is forced to leave, and then return to Finland.

Most often, travelers are required to receive a tourist or Schengen visa, this is done in the center of issuing documents of Finland in Moscow, St. Petersburg or other cities.

The general list of documents can be found on the Consulate website, or seek help in travel agencies. Visa documents are needed as follows:

  • The passport, in which there is at least 2 clean pages and the validity period of which at least three months;
  • Insurance Medical Policy;
  • A copy of the passport of the Russian Federation;
  • Tickets confirming that the tourist does not intend to stay in the country;
  • Receipt of payment of duty.

The questionnaire for obtaining a visa is better to fill on the site, in the online mode. Language can be English, Swedish or Finnish, but you can enter data and in Russian, if you use Latin letters and transliteration rules. One instance of the questionnaire must be printed, bring and give together with the rest of the documents.

The photo should be printed on a light background, 35 * 45 mm. Most must occupy the face of the passport owner. The photo must be done by the face, and on the face there should be a neutral expression.

The passport must act longer than the visa, this is another mandatory condition for obtaining the right to enter, and it must have at least 2 pure pages.
If there were several passports, then their copies should be brought to the visa center.

Visa documents also need to be complemented by tickets booked on both sides, and a hotel or a hostel in which the tourist plans to live during the trip. Tickets and reservations can replace a letter from the travel agency.

All documents, except for passports and tickets, are left in the value, so you need to remove the copies in advance.

Usually in the visa center in Moscow or another city, when collecting documents for a visa, specialists clarify whether a child travels with his family. The presence of a child expands the list of necessary documents, for small travelers will need another child's birth certificate, his passport (if he has already been issued), and the certificate of marriage parents. If the baby travels only with one accompanying, then it is necessary to present a notarized consent of the second parent for the removal of a child from the country.

Children's visas in Finland are issued for a period that both parental visas are operating. In other words, if one of the parents has a document ceases to act earlier than that of another, the child's right to stay in the country will end at the same time as the visa of the first adult will cease.

Children under six years old can do without filling the questionnaire, and the duty for their entry will be less. For older travelers, parents must collect a full package of documents, including photos, medical policies and completed by all the rules of the questionnaire.
