Is it allowed to leave Russia abroad with a temporary residence permit

TRP - temporary residence permit - a document that allows you to live and work in any region of the Russian Federation for up to three years. The question often arises, is it possible to leave Russia with a temporary residence permit? Let us first consider what RVP is and what opportunities it gives.

Advantages of RVP

A person who has issued a temporary residence permit is obliged to fully comply with the laws in force in the Russian Federation. A person who breaks the law will suffer the same punishment as a citizen of Russia.

Also, a person who has a RVP is endowed with some advantages, namely:

  • He is allowed to get a job in the absence of a patent.
  • Gets the right to free medical care.
  • Can start his own business.
  • Does not require additional permits.

Most importantly, a foreigner is not allowed to reside outside the region where he received a permit. Also, so that the RVP is not canceled, it is necessary to personally confirm your stay on the territory of the Russian Federation every year.

It is necessary to check in within 2 months by handing over to the migration service your application and data confirming income. In special cases, a delay of up to 6 months is allowed, but only with strong arguments.

A temporary residence permit is given only once, after a three-year period, it is mandatory to obtain a residence permit, or leave the country.

Travel abroad

In general, yes, it is possible to travel abroad with a temporary residence permit. However, there are some limitations.

If you expect to visit a country that does not require a visa, then there will be no problems, collect the minimum set of documents - a passport / international passport and a TRP and go ahead.

If you are planning to go to a country requesting a visa, then a “temporarily staying visa” is issued, it is issued to persons staying in the Russian Federation on a temporary residence permit. Documents are submitted to the Consulate of the country you are going to visit.

The most important thing when leaving is to take into account the fact that you can leave the Russian Federation only for a certain period. The maximum period for which you can leave the country is 6 months a year. The number of days of absence in the Russian Federation is summed up, i.e. you cannot leave for 6 months, come back for a few days and leave again for 6 months. If this rule is violated, punishment follows - the temporary residence permit is canceled, and it will be possible to apply for a new one no earlier than one year later.

Cancellation of TRP

As mentioned above, a temporary residence permit can be canceled in case of violation of the period of stay outside the Russian Federation. However, not only this can lead to undesirable consequences. There is a whole list of violations, RVP will be canceled if a person:

  1. Forcibly tries to influence the main provisions of the constitutional order of the Russian Federation or threatens public safety.
