Between Novy Afon and Gudauta, you can find another good camping site - Achandar. Its territory is guarded. Therefore, guests do not have to worry about the safety of cars or tents. On the territory there are amenities in the form of a toilet, shower, cafe. This campsite is very young, has only been operating for the second year, but has already earned a lot good reviews, recommended for recreation not just by tourists, but by the Russian Caravan Club.
Camping Achamdar is located on a flat area planted with poplars, there are options for setting up tents or placing cars. There is a beautiful pebble beach 30 meters from the parking lot. Therefore, most tourists come here to enjoy sea, water and air procedures, as well as admire the stunning local landscapes.
The Abkhazian village of Tsandripsh is also well known among those who like to rest in tents or trailers. There are several comfortable campgrounds around the village, one of them wears beautiful name "Pearl". The territory is guarded, there are showers and a toilet. Of the minuses - the proximity to the road, although, on the other hand, the traffic is rare.

With my husband we prefer to go to bask in the sun and live in tents. For the third year we are returning to Abkhazia! It is not for nothing that they say that if you like it the first time, then you will not be able to live without it, and if not, then you will no longer want to go there. We fell in love with her! Mountains, gentle sea, extraordinary flavor, interesting story country!
Let's start from the very beginning- from the road) We leave Kaluga by car usually in the morning, at four o'clock. The husband is driving alone and he can go for a long time without sleeping, so in about 26 hours we reach the border with Abkhazia. And then how lucky you are with the road: traffic jams, repairs, streamers - you can't guess.
Border - we have been driving for three years, and each time there is something new in its passage)) The fact that passengers pass separately from the car drivers is always accurate. Require: from passengers - a passport, from a driver - documents for a car, passport, driver's license. I can't say about the children, we don't have them yet, but I saw that they were looking at the birth certificate and talking to the child: What is the name of the mother, how old is the baby and similar questions to establish the identity of the child. Each year, the time passed in different ways, the first year - in 20 minutes (we got to the border immediately after midnight); the second year - 30 minutes (at the border were at five in the morning), the third year - 40 minutes (arrived only at six), every year there are more and more people) In the morning it's bad, because bus excursions just at this time they are approaching the border. In 2015, there were three times more people than in 2013. Abkhazia is becoming more popular))).
After the border - in 2013, since we arrived at the border in the middle of the night, we did not dare to go out on the highway (we read reviews and were tired), having passed the border point, stopped in the parking lot and slept until dawn. Abkhazians are very hospitable, so when we got out of the car in the morning, we immediately offered accommodation, we said that we had already agreed and were going to New Athos... The main thing with them, as with all people, is to be polite and not rude. Yes, in principle, why is it necessary on vacation)) For the next two years, we immediately moved along the road towards New Athos.
Nature, roads, cows, cities - as soon as you enter the road, you seem to find yourself in another world! Country of greenery, palm trees, mountains! The difference between Sochi and Abkhazia is felt very much. Trees, shrubs, palms, air, sea! The road along the main highways is asphalted, follow the signs and everything will be fine))) In 2015, they began to stop a lot of Russians, before this was not the case. The driving style of the Abkhaz is very interesting - they drive as they want, overtake them in solid lanes, honk their horns, do not observe the speed - you should not follow them! You can be stopped and fined for this, and the fines there are also decent. Cows and horses can be found on the roads))) these are practically holy animals - the breadwinners of every family. There were also pigs on the road))) It is not very convenient there are signs on the road, the end of the speed limit sign is not clear. Therefore, in the city it is better to go no higher than 50 km / h, and look more closely at the signs! Violations are caught by the police, they are hiding behind trees, maybe not in an official car, albeit with antediluvian radars))) On the way to New Athos we pass Gagra, Gudauta and other small villages. On the right is the blue sea, on the left - the mountains, I adore Abkhazia for that! It takes about an hour and a half to two hours to get to New Athos with an average speed of 60-70 km / h.
Residence - so I got to the house). For three years in a row we have been going to New Athos camping near the Kamarit hotel. In 2015, there were already so many people that the cars were parked outside the campground. But the whole territory is guarded (although how to say it is guarded - the entrance and exit is closed at night and the guards really sit still, but anyone who wants to get to you along the shore)), but this has never happened). We liked the camping very much the first time: firstly, it is located on the seashore, i.e. you fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the sea; secondly, the camp has two showers with hot fresh water (though when there are a lot of people, it unfortunately runs out and remains barely warm or cold), two bathrooms, refrigerators for storing food, 220V sockets, a washbasin with a mirror. Minus - in 2015 there was a queue in the morning for the toilet, and in the evening for the shower there was such that it stood for 20 minutes. But when you are on the shores of the wonderful Black Sea and you have nowhere to rush, you can stand the main thing so that it does not pour rain or does not really want to the toilet)) I also want to tell you a little about rain and bad weather: in 2013 and 2014, rain, downpour and cold drove us out of Abkhazia ((the tent got wet, it was also impossible to dry all the things, since there was no sun. lucky - it was raining for a short time and then immediately the sun warmed up)) and we changed the tent and the new one withstood better storm winds)
By cost - in 2015, the cost of the tent was 600 rubles a place + a car, although my husband's parents went with our own tent (we have it 11 sq. M.) In two weeks and they took 500 rubles from them, so it is difficult to determine the exact cost, it depends on the mood of the guard) )) on the site in this moment they have 500r written for a place of 5x4, no matter how much we tried to say that our tent is smaller, it's useless.
Life, food - I took with me a full car of things from a first aid kit to a shower (just in case, suddenly there will be no places in Kamarita). I collect the first-aid kit at home; in Abkhazia, medicines are very expensive. We take chairs, a table, an inflatable mattress to sleep, pillows, a blanket, bed linen, a car refrigerator (we took the first year, it was convenient to cool the water), oh well, everything, everything, everything on the little things) You wake up there early - at seven hours the sun creeps out from behind the mountains and begins to actively heat up the tent and it becomes impossible to sleep there - so we run out into the sea * buzz * this year we lived like this - 20 meters from the water)), then we had breakfast, swam, walked, in the evening, it gets dark early, at eight o'clock it is already so dark that, willy-nilly, you will want to sleep, so at about half past nine we climbed into the tent and slept. Our tentative neighbors took someone with them, saw an inflatable sofa, a slow cooker, an electric kettle, refrigerators (not cars, but small ordinary ones), plastic shelves, TV)
The shops are empty there. There are their local products: cheese, jerky meat, pastries. The rest is all imported from Russia or Turkey - and everything is more expensive than ours. Therefore, canned food, pasta, sunflower oil, sugar, tea, coffee, I took everything with me. This year we lived for 18 days, so sometimes we went to the canteens. The canteens are more budgetary, and the food is just as tasty) for 110r you can take a side dish + cutlet. The cafes did not particularly visit, although prices there are much lower than on ours black Sea resorts... In the evenings, they grilled fish, meat, sausages, potatoes on the grill. They have a problem with shish kebab)) meat is sold frozen from Brazil in briquettes and with a large weight of 220-250r per kg, or fresh, but high price - 450r kg. They took it when they did - they made fresh, ice cream, and chicken) There is a supermarket in Sukhum, there are more goods and more familiar goods for our eyes.
There is not much entertainment in the tents, so cooking and the sea are the most important entertainment. In 2015, cafes with Wi-fi began to appear in Abkhazia, but we used a local SIM card and connected it to the Internet (not a very convenient connection, dial a combination of numbers every day and be sure to cancel it at the end of the day, otherwise the payment changes).
