Applying for a visa for a child to Bulgaria

Bulgaria is a wonderful place for tourism and recreation, Russians have known about this since Soviet times, when Bulgaria was an accessible tourist center for residents of the USSR. Now, when you can travel almost everywhere, many people still choose Bulgaria as a place for a family holiday with children, but do not know if a visa is needed to travel to this country. However, even when traveling to friendly Bulgaria, both adults and kids will need it. How to do it easily and correctly?

There are several types of visas that are used by travelers to visit Bulgaria.

Visa regime for children

The conditions of the visa regime with Bulgaria are now somewhat simplified, and if a citizen of the Russian Federation has one, then you can use it to visit this state.

The law states that a child is a citizen who has not reached the age of majority at the time of entry into the country. General standards for visiting Bulgaria for young citizens:

  1. Small children (under 14 years old) can travel with mom and dad without their own passport when their details are included in the parent's passport. At the same time, children aged 6 years and older will need a photo pasted into their parent's passport.
  2. Children whose age is between 14 and 18 years old can leave Russia for Bulgaria only if they have their own passport.
  3. To obtain a visa to Bulgaria, the passport must be valid for more than 90 days at the time of completion of the trip.
  4. In 2005, a rule was introduced that if a minor travels with relatives, you must confirm the relationship (even if the surnames are the same).

List of documents for a child in addition to a visa

When traveling with children, it is required to prepare some documents, in particular:

These documents will be required even if the child has a visa prepared in accordance with all the standards and a foreign passport - without this package of papers, the child will not be released from the country, and no one will be able to compensate for the cost of visa documents, let alone air tickets.

Most often, parents are not very aware of how to obtain a visa, but such information will be provided at any visa center.

Aspects and nuances of obtaining a visa

You can apply for a visa to Bulgaria on your own, at the visa center, or with the help of intermediaries - for example, in a travel company. But the documents you will need are the same, no matter which method you choose.

So, what is required in order to make a child a visa to Bulgaria:

  1. Passport of a child or mom and dad. It is very important to check that the document will remain valid for more than three months after the trip is supposed to end. The passport needs at least one page without stamps (no stickers and marks). And also you need to make a copy of the first spread of the passport. If the child is over 14 years old, then his signature in the passport will be required. By the way, when applying for a double-entry visa, you should pay attention to the fact that the validity of your foreign passport must be 9 months or more from the expected start of the first trip.
  2. One color photo 35*45 mm. The photo required is the same as for a passport - on a white or gray background, the face image should occupy 70-80% of the image area.

Please note that the photo must certainly be professional - pictures taken with an amateur camera or phone will not work, there should not be frames on the photo card, and the presence of dark glasses is unacceptable. There should be no red-eye effect from the flash. Everything can be found here.
