Basic rules for filling out an application for a visa to Finland

  • Clause 11 (internal passport) is optional.
  • Clause 12 "foreign passport" is marked with a tick.
  • Items 13-16 must be filled in exactly according to the data of the international passport.

  • Clause 18 for Russians living in Russia is put "no".

  • Clause 19 and clause 20 - an indication of the occupation, real contact details of the work. If the questionnaire is filled out in English, you should refer to the dictionary and write the correct name, and not transliterate the word of the Russian language. For students - data of the educational institution. For the unemployed "not working" or "notworking". The main thing - no dashes.
  • P.21: designation of the purpose of the trip.
  • Item 22: country of destination, in this case Finland.
  • Item 23 when obtaining a Schengen visa, the first country of entry is Finland.
  • P.24 - indicate how many times it is supposed to enter.
  • P.25 - indicate the period of the expected presence in the country. It can be 30, 45 or 90 days, but usually for the first time 30 days are given for a period of six months.

  • In paragraph 26, if this is the first trip, put "no". If there was before, indicate its dates.
  • P.27 - data on the collection of fingerprints for obtaining a biometric passport.
  • Item 28 is filled out only for a transit visa, it can be omitted in other cases.
  • Clause 29 and clause 30 - dates of opening and expiration of the visa. The first is usually placed 8-10 days later than the submission of the questionnaire, and the second - one day less than six months or a year after the first date.
  • P.31 - data of the one who made the invitation, more often it is information about the hotel, hotel or campsite.

  • Item 32 is filled in only for those who go to work, not to rest. Tourists skip this point.

  • Item 33: indication of data on the financing of expenses for the period of the trip. If independently, then a tick is placed in the “applicant” box and then on the subparagraphs. Items on payment for transport and accommodation are noted if the applicant has documents confirming hotel reservations and transport tickets.

  • Paragraphs 34-35: if the applicant has no family ties with citizens of Switzerland and the European Union, skip the paragraph.

  • In paragraph 36, we indicate the name of the settlement where the application will be submitted, and the date of submission of documents.
  • Item 37 - personal signature of the applicant.

Online application

In 2019, in order to apply to the Consulate General of Finland, applicants are required to fill out an online application form, in electronic form on the website. After filling it out, you need to print it along with a barcode. Applications are accepted only in paper form, but the attached barcode is required for their quick identification.

Consideration of the application starts from the day when the Consulate/Visa Center receives a printed application, additional documents and a receipt for payment of the visa fee.
