Fill out the application form for a Finnish visa

One of the most important steps in obtaining any Schengen visa is filling out an application form. And, despite the fact that for the most part the requirements and filling out rules in all Schengen countries are brought to a common standard, there are still some differences. Therefore, we will carefully study what features the application form for a Finnish visa in 2019 will offer us.

Filling rules

There is a wide choice in which language to fill out the Finnish visa application form. You can use Russian, but write Russian words not in Cyrillic, but in letters of the Latin alphabet. Suitable languages ​​are English, Swedish and Finnish.

On the completed application form you need to paste a photo that complies with the Schengen standard and is no more than six months old.

All answers must be true and supported by documents. There is no need to put dashes if the question does not apply to you. It is better to write the negation word “no” or put a tick next to the answer option “no”.

Each applicant must fill out their own application form and sign it independently. This is a mandatory and very important condition.

If the signature on the application form does not match the sample signature on the passport, you can easily get a refusal. Each applicant must have a personal application form. This also applies to children, only parents or persons replacing them must fill out and sign for them.

What to write

Let’s look point by point at how to fill out a visa application form for Finland.

1-3. The first and last name are indicated exactly as they are written in the passport. Ladies who have changed their last name indicate the previous options in the second field separated by a space, without commas.

  1. The names of settlements are indicated as they were at the time of your birth.
  2. Accordingly, the country of birth for those born before 1991 will not be the Russian Federation, but the USSR.
  3. This item is indicated only in the application form for minors.
  4. Citizens of the Russian Federation indicate “no”.
  5. The country of primary destination must be Finland, otherwise you will simply be offered a visa from another country.
  6. The maximum number of days is 90.
  7. When are you planning to travel to Finland? For example, June 30, 2015.
  8. The date at this point will depend on the type of visa requested. If you noted that you want a one-time visa for two weeks, then count two weeks from the start of the trip (06/30/2015) and write 07/14/15. And if you need a multiple visa for a year, then you need to write the expiration date of its validity, that is, 06/30/2016.
  9. Write the name of the city in which you will submit documents. It is better to enter the date directly at the institution.
  10. Your signature is required here.
  11. Be careful: the application form for a Finnish visa must be signed at least twice. And those who have applied for a multiple visa will have to confirm with their signature their agreement to provide medical insurance for all subsequent trips.

    On the website of the Finnish visa center they recommend using the electronic version of the application form, where filling out takes place online. But you can also fill out a paper version.
