10 most visited beaches in the world. Rating of the best and unique beaches in the world. Lazy Beach, Rongsanlenm, Cambodia

Ocean and sea beaches have long become one of the most popular recreational facilities. Everyone is drawn here: young and old, single and family. There are innumerable beaches around the planet, so the choice of vacationers is almost limitless (if the wallet allows). Most often, people prefer sandy beaches. But even here it can be unsafe, so it is useful to know about the Top 10 most dangerous beaches in the world.

1. Gold Coast in Queensland (Australia): poisonous box jellyfish and man-eating sharks

Lovers beach holiday regularly flock to Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, to enjoy the excellent weather and always warm water. The Gold Coast is a paradise for divers; extreme coral reefs with unique species of plants and animals attract here. But at the same time, not everyone knows how dangerous they can be local beaches... Even in coastal Australian waters, sharks of all kinds are constantly swimming, from the near-harmless prickly, carpet, zebra saddlery and feline to the deadly tiger, great white, blue and sandy. Over the past 45 years, 329 shark attacks on humans have been noted, in 136 cases they resulted in the death of bathers.
But in the local waters there is also a more tender death - box jellyfish ("sea wasps"). They have one of the most effective toxins in the animal kingdom, their stinging cells cause burns that can kill a swimmer in minutes. In the water, sea wasps are practically invisible, so people often become their victims. Although deaths from contacts with box jellyfish have become less common in recent years, this does not apply to children, for whom such meetings are almost certainly fatal.

The best beaches combine not only soft silky sand, caressing the azure sea, fresh air and enchanting nature, but also quite developed and ...

2. Fish Hook beaches (South Africa): white sharks

When talking about the dangers of ocean beaches, sharks are the first to come to mind. There are especially many white sharks near the beaches of Fish Hook, which often attack people. At the same time, the largest predatory shark can attack the prey even in shallow water, and only a few manage to survive after meeting such a “killing machine”.
Special protective nets do not always help, sharks somehow manage to penetrate behind them and attack, attack ... Climate change in recent years makes white sharks even more often attack people, and people themselves often provoke this - for example, risky attractions in which those who wish in a metal cage are dipped into water teeming with sharks, and to attract the latter, he is given pieces of fish. Butchering animal meat on the shore, and in the past, burying in the ocean have also taught sharks to loit closer to the shore.
Over 45 years of observations, 276 white shark attacks were noted, in 2010 there were 21 such cases, 6 of which resulted in the death of a person. Surfers are also attacked by the most aggressive bull sharks. What can we say about a person if the remains of large crocodiles are found in the stomachs of white sharks!

3. Zipolite Beach (Mexico): strong current

The Zapotec Indians called this beach "the coast of the dead". With turquoise waters and gorgeous white sand, Zipolite Beach is actually one of the most dangerous in the world, as it has powerful underwater currents during high and low tides. It is especially dangerous in summer. Even a good adult male swimmer cannot cope with a powerful stream, which is difficult to notice from land, and under the water there are sharp rocks and reefs, which the wave hits the swimmer. The authorities do not spare funds for organizing rescue work on the beach, because despite the obvious danger, foreign holidaymakers still tend here because of the magnificent views.

4. Bikini Atoll (Marshall Islands): high radioactivity

The amazingly beautiful beaches of this atoll have long been unsuitable for recreation, since from 1946 to 1958, Americans tested their nuclear and thermonuclear weapons on these paradise islands. Almost all the inhabitants of the islands have died from cancer. Until now, the radiation level here is far from normal. But some foolish tourists looking for isolated spots, despite strict warnings, still show up on Bikini. From April to November, weekly tours for 12-15 people are even organized here. Another way to get to Bikini is to become a member of the Central Pacific Expedition.

5. New Smyrna (USA): water accidents, sharks, wildlife attacks, lightning strikes

Florida has long become one of the world's centers for tourists from all over the world, ideal conditions for a beach holiday have been created here, so you usually want to return here. But only if something has not happened to you on the beach of New Smyrna. Its dangers await from different directions: in addition to the expected attacks of sharks, one should beware of collisions of boats, lightning strikes and other unusual threats.
In 2010, 640 ship collisions were recorded there, 68 of which were fatal - a sad record for the United States. Over the past half century, 459 people have been killed here by lightning strikes. The thing is that a person standing on a flat beach is high point, and during a thunderstorm it serves as a kind of lightning rod, and thunderstorms often happen here ...

You can talk about Crimean beaches for a long time, their beauty is very diverse, they still do not get tired of surprising vacationers with something. After all, there is even sand on them ...

6. Cable Beach (Australia): crocodiles

In recent years, huge crocodiles have been in the habit of appearing on this Australian beach. These reptiles are protected by Australian law, they are prohibited from hunting, which has led to an increase in their population and increased contact with people. In 2009, the Australians asked for a partial lifting of the moratorium on crocodile shooting, however, the authorities refused them, fearing that the beaches will flood crocodile hunting tourists. For a quarter of a century, there have been 10 cases of crocodile attacks on people, which ended sadly. The largest number of such attacks occurs in Northern Australia - near Darwin and in the resorts of Queensland.

7. Copacabana (Brazil): a crime scene

Located in Rio de Janeiro famous beach Capocabana is one of the most dangerous in the world, but you should not be afraid of sharks here, but your own kind. On it such phenomena as prostitution, rape, drug dealing, robbery became commonplace. In 2010 alone, 30 people were killed on the wonderful sand of the beach, and over 80 were subjected to other types of crimes. But once the local high society rested on Copacabana, politicians, entrepreneurs, artists, writers and artists built their houses nearby.

8. Boa Viagem (Brazil): shark attack

Located in Recife, Boa Viagem Beach is deservedly one of the most beautiful in the world. But after 1992, sharks began to frequently swim up to him, as a result of which over 50 attacks were recorded, 19 of which were fatal to humans. The reason for this migration of sharks, ecologists call the actions of fishermen, who every year catch fish closer to the shore.

9.So Paulo (Brazil): sharp-toothed piranhas

Going to summer rest to Europe, many people first accumulate information about the countries where they are going to go, make a plan to visit worth ...

Hardly anyone has not heard the heartbreaking stories of how these cute fish in a minute are able to gnaw a large animal to the bone. Most of these schooling fish are in the tributaries of the Amazon. For example, in 2002 in Santa Cruz, on the Conceao beach, 38 swimmers were injured by piranhas, and in 5 days off. The next outbursts of piranha aggression occurred near the cities of Yokanga and Itapui. In total, 50 people suffered from piranhas in half a month. In 2009, 74 people were bitten by them in a month. True, statistics are silent about deaths in connection with piranhas.
Recently, it is believed that the beaches of São Paulo have become dangerous for swimming. Scientists suggested that the construction of river dams made the piranhas aggressive, as a result of which they began to multiply indefinitely. Then their shoals rushed to unusual habitats, which are the beaches. Some piranhas grow up to 30 cm in length. It will not be difficult for an adult piranha to bite off a person's finger. Of course, not all species of piranha are carnivorous, there are vegetarians among them who eat plants, seeds or algae.

10. Gansbaai (South Africa): white sharks

In the South African province of the Western Cape, a fishing town has become popular resort... A colony of 60,000 fur seals lives in its vicinity. These eared seals are a favorite delicacy of great white sharks that are teeming with the waters of Gansbaai. Therefore, thrill-seekers are lowered here under water in steel cages. And it is simply impossible to swim here freely - it is unlikely that even a mask will swim to the shore, because sharks know their job well.

    My ranking of the best beaches in the world 2017

    In four years my top best beaches have changed a lot.
    If in the previous article I loved the Caribbean region - most of my favorite beaches were there, now the Caribbean is at the bottom of the list.

    Now, going to rest at sea, I in addition to the budget of the trip, I also estimate the hardships of the road: flight duration, airline service, ease of movement and transfers on the spot.

    The Caribbean is not an option and I wrote about this after returning from another trip from Central America: .
    However, the criterion for assessing the beach for me is the same and I quote myself:

    What is the best beach in the world for me

    - clean, clear and fairly calm water;
    - Convenient entry into the water - in order to swim, I don't have to walk 100 meters knee-deep;
    - cleanliness of the beach

    Best option: coral white sand that does not heat up in the sun like a frying pan
    - minimum of people on the beach.

    If sausages are launched on the beach by parachute, jets are thundered by aquabikes - this beach sucks;
    - maximum wildlife: I like to have something other than a seal lying next to the beach, because I can't lie on the beach for more than 5 minutes.

    The easiest and most affordable sea vacation for me is.
    Judge for yourself: fly to the place 3-4 hours ().

    Understandable and healthy food: meat, fish, vegetables, herbs, feta cheese, olive oil.
    The cleanest sea and beautiful nature around.

    Affordable, albeit modest housing - apartments (search on booking.com or on the airbnb website)
    Therefore, I'll start with Greece.

    Greece

    Forgive me Portugal lovers! Your favorite beaches - I absolutely do not like it.

    Croatia

    Thailand

    - in last year the holiday season had shifted, and these beaches, usually calm in winter, were quite exciting.
    But still Phuket is the easiest and fastest way to get into summer from the wet Russian autumn / winter (
