I will say right away that we tried all 3 options. Basically, we always carry our son with us. Rest must then be adapted to the child. We also do this for the reason that we have no one to leave it to. I do not particularly trust my mother-in-law, and my parents live far away. Therefore, 95% of our adventures we share with our son. I was just talking about a vacation in Portugal, Corsica, Italy ... We also went to Holland with him, flew to Japan. Of course, vacation with a child is a completely different vacation. Here and daytime sleep, and transportation of diapers, and unexpected illnesses. And visiting those places that I would not have gone to without a child (car parks, all kinds of science museums, etc.). As well as not being able to visit other places where it is fun without a child (theaters, museums, clubs ...)
As for the vacation with my husband, we organized it only once. We went on a tour to Naples for 4 days. My dad was with my son ( only person, whom I trust 100%). It was, of course, great. how honeymoon... But I would not agree longer. I missed a lot ... Now my dad is also arriving for a month, and he says fly together, but as a result, we have planned a bunch of trips with him and our son in France and Belgium.
The third option, it seems to me, is also not bad. More than once we went to all-inclusive hotels on the sea or skis. You can leave the child for a couple of hours. They study with them, organize concerts, competitions. Children are not bored and parents can relax in peace. But, I admit that now my son has grown up and I'm getting bored in these hotels ... Better on my own!
