Bai Sao Beach, Phu Quoc, Vietnam. White sand beach in Fukuoka. Phu Quoc. Bai Sao beach. And yet: heaven or hell? How much does a taxi cost to bai sao beach

We spent a full seven days in Fukuoka. We drove the island up and down. We visited basically all the places mentioned in travel booklets and not only. I decided to build this review on the principle: place - description, abandoning the more familiar structure of a diary by day. Recommendations for choosing the area of the island for accommodation and our hotel will be at the end.

How to get to Fukuoka

In 2012, Fukuoka opened new airport (PQC code) which accepts regular flights from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Haiphong and Can Tho. In addition, hundreds of charters fly here from all over the world.

The most convenient way to get to this Vietnamese island is from Ho Chi Minh City. Depending on the season and day of the week, the number of flights per day from Saigon can reach 10 or more. The journey takes only 1 hour. Flights are operated by Vietnam airlines, VietJet Air, JetStar. Ticket prices range from 4,000 rubles. up to 20,000 rubles. per round trip per person. We took tickets for New Year's dates 5 months before departure (in August). Low-cost airline - "JetStar", price - 4 300 rubles (round trip). I recommend booking tickets in advance if you want to save 10-15 thousand rubles. Aviasales to help.

Road from / to Fukuoka airport

If I am not mistaken, the island is absent public transport... You need to get from the airport to the hotel by taxi or by a previously ordered transfer at the hotel. Taxi stands are at the exit, also in the baggage claim area. Everything is simple here, we show the hotel reservation with the address, pay for travel at the counter, get a voucher, go out into the street. We fall into the hands of the driver, who, according to the voucher, takes them to the hotel without any problems or questions. The island itself is not small, so the price of a taxi will be from 100,000 dong to 300,000 - 400,000 dong, depending on the location of the hotel.

Fukuoka beaches

The map below shows all the places we visited in Fukuoka:

Perhaps you need to start with what people fly here for 10-15 hours - the beaches. The features of the climate in Fukuoka are such that:

 • November to March is dry season, wind blows from east to west;
 • From April to October, the rainy season, the wind blows from west to east.

Accordingly, all hotels and resorts are located on the western coast, since in winter, in season, this coast is quiet, closed from the winds. On east coast in the winter months - waves and a huge amount of dirt and household waste, washed up from all over the Gulf of Thailand.

Bai Sao Beach - the pearl of the island. Phu Quoc and Vietnam in general

The place is very beautiful. The beach is located in a small cove surrounded by rolling hills covered with tropical vegetation. White sand.

At low tide (after lunch), the coastline increases greatly. The beach, especially in the photo, looks heavenly.

We failed to enjoy this natural beauty, relax, swim in the sea. There is so much dirt and debris that there are simply no words. Wild thrash. The entire coast is strewn with packages, bottles and other filth. The desire to swim here immediately disappears when a pack of condoms floats next to you and pulls a meter long snag along the bottom.

Infrastructure: along the beach there are several cafes in traditional Vietnamese style - dirty tables, dishes, waiters sleeping on the go. I had no particular complaints about this, since this is Vietnam.

Each establishment diligently "removes" its coastline from dirt and debris. It happens like this: a Vietnamese rowing garbage into a bucket, moving beyond the territory of the restaurant's shore and pouring it out where the beach area does not belong to anyone. The sea again takes all this garbage in a wave and eventually nails it. Such is the cycle of idiocy.

One of our compatriots, who has been living on the island for more than 5 years, assured me that after the change of wind the beach would be removed and it would be exemplary. Local residents have the following mentality: why clean up today, if tomorrow the sea will again bring all sorts of rubbish.

I don't post a photo of dirt, so as not to spoil the impression of this place, because it is actually amazing. I hope the local authorities will pay attention and put in order this beach, which has no equal in beauty on the island.

Beach - continuation of Bai Sao

If you face the sea on Sao Beach, then on the right is another beach, which is different in the color of the sand, it is yellow.

There are huge boulders in the water and on the shore. The coastline is slightly narrower than that of Bai Sao. There are no restaurants or sun loungers here. In a way, this is a plus, since there are almost no people, you can throw a towel and lie down in solitude.

The main problem is again garbage, but oddly enough there is much less of it here, there is almost no water in the water, although there is no more than 1 km from Bai Sao. Apparently the tide features.

Ong Lang Beach

Most well-groomed and clean beach in Fukuoka. The sand is fine, golden in color. On first coastline there are many decent hotels and restaurants, hence the impeccable cleanliness, the adjoining territory is regularly cleaned. The sea is very calm and warm.

In some places there are areas with stone banks.

Large areas of this beach are occupied by hotels, mainly of the "bungalow" type. Since all the beaches in Fukuoka are public, this does not cause problems. You can swim and relax along the entire coastline. Restrictions only on the use of sun loungers and other beach equipment that belongs to the hotel.

Ganh Gio Beach

Ganh Gio Beach - located south of the beach Ong Lang on the western side of the island. In fact, it is no different from Ong Lang. Unless access to the beach is possible only through the territory of the Shells Resort hotel (one of the most expensive in Fukuoka). You can say the beach is private.

The territory of the hotel may not be allowed, therefore, if you have not stayed at this hotel, then there is nothing to do on Ganh Gio Beach.

The rest of the beaches in Fukuoka

The above are places that I have studied well. We spent enough time on these beaches to form a concrete opinion about them. In addition to these places, during our stay on the island we were brought to several more beaches, I will say a few words about them.

Long Beach - the center of everything beach holiday Fukuoka. Its length is about 20 km. Probably 90-95% of all hotels and resorts are located on this beach and in its vicinity. I try to avoid places of such a crowd of people, so I will not give recommendations.

Duong Dong Beach - garbage dump, not suitable for swimming or relaxing

Thom Beach - garbage dump, not suitable for swimming or relaxing

More things to do in Fukuoka

Judging by travel brochures and notes, Phu Quoc is famous for not only beaches. We had enough time to take a close look at island life and all the tourist attractions. In addition to a beach holiday, Phu Quoc offers activities to guests for every taste:

 • hiking trails in tropical forests;
 • one day snorkeling / diving excursions to coral reefs and islands;
 • modern amusement park with water slides and attractions;
 • safari zoo;
 • rich excursion. Pepper factory, pearl factory, local fish sauce production
 • Acquaintance with the traditions and way of life of the locals (markets, street food, etc.)

Night market

I read a lot of comments and reviews about the night market before going to the island. People have described this place as a paradise for seafood and street food aficionados in general.

The market consists of several streets with street cafes, shops with nuts, souvenirs and other junk. Every reputable establishment has aquariums and fresh catch counters.

There are really no questions about the products, everything is fresh. A wide selection of shellfish, fish. There are exotic things - for example, sharks and other unknown creatures. It is interesting to look at marine life and tap them with your finger on the glass. This is a kind of miniature oceanarium.

Guests are invited to choose their own dinner. They cook, without exception, according to three recipes: grilled, boiled, boiled / stewed with local spices.

I can't stand obsession, so walking around the market was not very comfortable for me. The Vietnamese prevail from all sides, everyone offers to sit down in his institution. Cherkizovsky market in Moscow in the nineties, one to one. Only instead of sneakers and tracksuits they sell shrimp and squid here.

All eateries, and they cannot be called otherwise, are the same. Therefore we sat down where there were people and the most decent tables and tablecloths.

I don’t consider myself a squeamish person, but here the dirt is excellent everywhere. You can stick to the table tightly. I had to drink beer from a bottle, I didn't dare pour it into a glass. The seafood is fresh, you can endure it, let's go choose your own dinner. Took: shrimp, squid, sea urchins, oysters and some other shells. They didn't manage to spoil the shrimps, and what the hell were the rest of the dishes, for me was a big question.

With a clear conscience, I tried everything. Then my stomach ached wildly and we got away from the Night Market.

The bottom line. Feelings such, resentment for a wasted evening on the island, besides, stomach pain after "delicious" seafood. In my opinion, there is absolutely nothing to do here. As a last resort, if you are really tired of sitting in a cozy restaurant on the coast with a glass of beer or wine, enjoying delicious and most importantly safe food, then go here to look at the bizarre critters in the aquarium, but in no case eat anything here. Not tasty and not safe.

Phu Quoc Pepper Farm

There are several pepper factories, or more precisely, pepper farms in Fukuoka. At least there are about five marks on the mapsme map. We visited the most "tourist" of them. It is located a couple of kilometers from the city of Duong Dong. See the map above.

At first, I did not understand whether we arrived correctly or not, since there were practically no identification marks of the factory, apart from the signs on the road. Anyway, the place looked more like an ordinary farmhouse. There is also a shop near the road where they sell pepper and coffee. The guy showed us how to get to the farm.

The place is a plantation where peppers are grown - austere rows of climbing plants.

There is a small orchard.

In the store you can buy many different options for ready-made seasoning. Black and white pepper, peas and ground, ground with garlic and soy sauce.

Perhaps that's all.

We stopped at a farm on the way with Bai Sao. You won't be able to stay here for more than half an hour, since, in fact, there is nothing to watch and do.

My opinion is that if you drive by, you must stop in order to buy pepper for a year in advance and then distribute it to all friends and relatives as a souvenir. I don't see any point in going here purposefully to see the farm.

Fish sauce factory, pearl factory

Both of these establishments are a common trick of local residents to get the attention of tourists. You go there and find only a shop where you can buy pearls or fish sauce. There is nothing more to tell. not worth going.

Tracking in Fukuoka (Ganh Dau trail)

There is no tracking routes, in the usual sense of the word for me, in Fukuoka. Let me explain a little: the island has a huge national park - a tropical forest where monkeys, parrots and many others live in their natural environment. There are lakes, waterfalls, rivers, hills. Only here is the infrastructure and access to these nature reserves not. Continuous impassable jungle.

In total, we had three trips to different parts of the island, in order to see wild monkeys, listen to tsecad, and generally get acquainted with the local flora and fauna.

In the north (map above) there is a route marked on tourist maps - Ganh Dau trail.

It is a path about 2 km long through the forest. The route is dead-end. Went to the end and back.

A couple of times there are such trees

On the trail, you feel that the forest is simply teeming with insects, snakes and other creatures. We were already closer to sunset and completely alone. Feelings are creepy, I'm happy.

It's all. More equipped tourist routes not in Fukuoka. Once we turned off the road and followed a path not marked on tourist map (on my map "Forest")

After 15 minutes, we went out into a clearing, where the Vietnamese diligently cut the jungle. It looks like it's under construction for a hotel or something. They looked at us wildly, apparently it was unusual for them to see white people in the forest, and not on the beach.

A couple of times we tried to find a more or less sane road / trail that we could walk through the Phu Quoc National Park. Judging by the maps, there is a path that crosses the entire park, but we could not get out on it. Locals They looked at us as if we were plague, waved their hands and sent us away from the forest.

The road DT973 (Duong Dong - Bai Thom) runs along the jungle. You can ride a scooter to the north and back comfortably along it to look at the local landscape. We had a chance to meet wild monkeys along the way.

In general, as I understand it, the national park is a wild and undeveloped place. Even the locals don't go there. According to verified information, there are over 61 species of reptiles alone. You can read about the park here.

My opinion:

To me, as a lover wildlife it was just necessary to try to climb into the jungle, to see wild monkeys. I was pleased to see the nature of this region. Since the infrastructure for such a vacation on the island is completely uncomfortable, not everyone will like such entertainment. For those who are bored of lying all day on the beach, I can advise the following:

 • Walking route Ganh Dau Trail - will take 1 - 2 hours, you can "feel" the jungle a little, especially closer to sunset;
 • Take a scooter ride along the Duong Dong - Bai Thom road along National park... Will take about 1.5 - 2 hours round trip. You can meet wild monkeys.

Snorkeling / diving in Fukuoka

There are no living creatures and corals on the beaches of Fukuoka. Travel agencies offer one day excursions to the small islands that are located north or south of Fukuoka. We took a tour to northern islands, as in the south because of the wind there were unfavorable conditions. There is no difference which islands to go to, the program is the same everywhere and includes:

 • Transfer from your hotel to Duong Dong Pier where the boat is waiting
 • The way to the islands by boat 1-1.5 hours
 • Fishing for about an hour on the donka
 • Snorkeling at the islands, about 2 hours
 • Lunch after snorkeling
 • free time on one of the beaches of Fukuoka, to which the boat brings

Price per person per group excursion about $ 20-30, depending on the travel agency. We took a $ 120 private trip from Phu Quoc Beach Travel, an office located in the Ong Lang Beach area. It looked like the most decent agency, you can pay by card, there were even brochures in Russian with a description. Additionally, they offered to take a Russian-speaking guide for $ 20, we refused. As a result, the guide was our Russian former pilot who settled on the island in retirement.

We went to several other agencies: in one, the Vietnamese did not understand what a Private tour was and just pointed her finger at the brochure, in the other there was no one at all.

Since we had a private tour, we didn't have to go to Duong Dong to the pier. The boat itself sailed to us on Ong Lang beach, next to which we lived.

The purpose of the excursion is small islands: Fingernail Island (Little finger island) and Turtle Island (Turtle island). The journey takes about an hour. Next to them you can go fishing from a boat to a donk, swim with fins and a mask.

It is difficult to call them islands. Small pieces of land that can be reached by swimming.

We tried fishing and decided not to waste time on it. firstly, it didn’t bite, and secondly, catching fish with the palm of your hand does not cause much interest.

We spent all the allotted time in the water on a coral reef

You can get out on land, have a little rest. There is garbage on the island that comes from the sea, and there is a lot of it. Some bottles, flasks in appearance have been here for years. Since they bring tourists here, why not collect all the dirt. The area of the island is only 100 square meters. But this is Vietnam, nobody cleans up the garbage here.

Two hours is enough to swim over the corals and look at small fish.

On way back from the islands, lunch is offered, which is represented by local dishes: Pho soup, rice, chicken. The meals are simple and tasty, especially after 2 hours on the water. From exotic for an additional fee, you can try sea urchins.

By 15:00 we were brought back to Ong Lang beach.

General impressions: If in your life you have not seen anything under water except sand and stones, then you must take an excursion. For beginners, snorkeling in Fukuoka will delight. It so happened that I first got acquainted with the underwater world when scuba diving in the Red Sea and now snorkeling or diving in other places does not cause me strong emotions. The local underwater world is scarce and not so motley and colorful, but it is here. I like active rest, I would rather swim for 3 hours and look at corals than lie on the beach, so I recommend.

Safari Zoo in Phu Quoc (Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc) + Vinpearlland Amusement Park

Since we had plenty of time on the island, we decided not to bypass the recently opened Vinpearlland amusement park and Safari Zoo. They are located in the north of the island. We traveled around the island on a rented scooter all seven days, so we did not encounter a problem to get to one or another part of the island, but it seems that free buses also run from Duong Dong several times a day.

General tickets for 1 day (Vinperalland + Vinpearl Safari) were bought at the ticket office of the zoo at the price of 850,000 Dong per person. It was decided to start with the zoo, since its opening hours are shorter, from 09:00 to 16:00. The park is divided into 2 zones:

 1. Animals in cages;
 2. Safari Park.

The zoo is very decent. The territory is well-groomed, everything is thought out and worked out to the smallest detail.

The animals are nice to look at. Clean, well-fed. Their cells are very large, there is where to roam.

The second zone is the zoo safari. Tourists are transported by bus from one area to another. In each zone there are certain animals. The downside is that this bus is an ordinary one, the same as on the city route in Moscow. You have to look at the animals through the glass. It needs a high double-decker bus with an open second floor.

We could not stay here for more than two hours, the scorching sun is simply unbearable. the more we got here at the very peak of the heat, arrived at 12 and walked up to 2x.

Further about Vinpearlland. From the zoo by scooter about 10 minutes drive. The park is divided into several zones and offers the following entertainment: water slides, attractions, aquarium, shows dancing fountains and others. In a word, they collected everything that is possible. We went here on a previously purchased single ticket at the zoo. I'll make a reservation right away that we were only interested in the park with water slides, we didn't go anywhere else, we didn't look at anything. So here they are for a solid 4k. There are no queues. There are enough slides, there is a place for a child and an adult to ride. You can read more about the park.

General impression about Vinpearlland + Zoo.

I can only recommend spending a day at Vinpearl if you have visited all the other places from the list above, and you still have time on the island. Also, such parks will probably be of interest to tourists with children. You can spend the whole day here. It is better to start in the morning (from 9 o'clock) with the zoo, while the heat can still allow walking under open air... There is little shadow in the zoo. After 12 you can move to Vinpearlland to water slides and attractions.

Asia is famous for its sunsets, Phu Quoc is no exception in this regard. You can watch a beautiful sunset on everything west coast islands. The sight is truly impressive. Every day we planned to arrive at Ong Lang Beach at 17:30 with a bottle of Tiger. No comments are needed here.

By 18:00 the sun sets in Fukuoka, people start to wander around the hotels and by 18:30 - 19:00 decent restaurants are full. You can sit down, but not always at a comfortable table.

Where to stay in Fukuoka

When choosing a hotel in Fukuoka, the east coast of the island must be swept away immediately. There is no infrastructure here, the coast is one continuous garbage dump.

95% of the hotels are located on the west coast. For myself, conditionally, I divided all hotels into 4 zones (from north to south):

1st zone: Northwest of the island. Vinpearl neighborhood

At the time of our trip, this territory was actively developed. Huge multi-storey premium chain hotels were built here. In addition to Vinpearl amusement parks, a casino is to open here in the near future. For whom all this is being built and who will live here, I don’t know. Europeans and Americans will not go here when they have Las Vegas, Miami, Ibiza, Nice at home. Moreover, given the mentality and service of local residents. Wouldn't recommend this area of the island. Who wants luxury, the road to Dubai, and by no means to Phu Quoc.

2nd zone: Hotels located along Ong Lang Beach

We lived in this area and I can safely say that this the best placeto stop at Fukuoka. Long Beach is the cleanest on the island. Local hotels have large green areas, almost all accommodation in "bungalows" and houses. This allows you to be closer to nature. Local residents do not live here, there is silence and tranquility. This area is located in the heart of the island, so it is very convenient to make excursions to other parts of Fukuoka from here.

Zone 3: Hotels in and around Duong Dong

I won't pay much attention. Only suitable for backpackers, and even then you can find more impressive options in other parts of the island for little money.

Zone 4: Hotels along Long Beach

Long Beach is not much inferior to Ong Lang. There is also a very clean coastline here, a large number of hotels for every taste and budget. The difference from the Ong Lang area is that the concentration of tourists here is several times higher. Hence the vanity, constant movement.

For those who value tranquility and privacy, I would recommend staying in the Ong Lang beach area, for everyone else - Long Beach.

We stayed at the Palm hill resort. A mid-range place, about $ 60 per night. The hotel is not located on the first line, about 10 minutes walk to Ong Lang beach. There is a green area, a small pool. Accommodation is exclusively in a bungalow. The cuisine in the local restaurant is about nothing, the only thing I can recommend is the fruit milkshakes, very tasty. Overall, the place is cozy and well worth the money.

For myself, I noted two of the most attractive hotels in which it is best to stay in Fukuoka in the Ong Lang beach area:

Coco Palm Beach Resort & Spa is the same price range, around $ 60 per night. The hotel is located on the first line. Excellent green area, 20 meters from the sea. There is a restaurant main feature which is again the location, it essentially stands on the beach. We dined here most often. It is better to come early, from one to three you will hardly be able to sit down. All the people from the beach are drawn here. Kitchen for a solid four. For the money, this hotel can be called one of the best on the island. On the territory of only 4 bungalows, the demand is huge. To get here in high season, you need to book 6 months in advance.

Mango Bay Phu Quoc Resort is the most best hotel in Fukuoka. If I come back to the island, I will definitely come here. The hotel has a huge green area. The beach in front of the hotel is quiet and secluded. Lots of sun loungers, hammocks. Mango Bay Restaurant is another reason to be scattered with compliments. Situated naturally on the shore. There is a veranda, sitting at a table, you can watch the stunning pictures of the sunset. Menu, service, food - everything is in the best European traditions. During the season, a night in this hotel starts from $ 200. The price is decent, but worth it. You need to book a room, probably a year in advance. There were no rooms available 7 months before our travel date.

How to get around Fukuoka

There is no public transport on the island. You cannot rent a car, as tourists are prohibited by law from driving in Fukuoka.

The most convenient, in my opinion, way of getting around the island is a scooter. You can rent it at any hotel. The price is 150,000 dong per day. No documents, contracts, insurance. It's simple, took the bike and drove off. The traffic on the island is not as crazy as in Ho Chi Minh City or any other metropolis, so you can move around safely and without fear.

If, for some reason, the option with a scooter is not suitable, then all that remains is a taxi. You can call at the reception of any hotel. The taxi runs on the meter.

General impression of Fukuoka

Should you visit Phu Quoc? Most likely my answer will be no. In Southeast Asia, there are much more beautiful and interesting placeswhere you can spend your vacation: Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia.

If you still decide to visit this Vietnamese island, then I would recommend to devote no more than 5 days to it. This will be enough to relax on the beach and see Phu Quoc. My recommendations:

 • Hotel: Mango Bay or Coco Palm
 • Beach: Ong Lang
 • Excursions: Snorkeling to the islands
 • What to see: Bai Sao Beach, pepper farm, walking route, Vinpearl Zoo

One of the most beautiful beaches in Southeast Asia "Bai-Sao" is located in the southern part of the Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc. This is the perfect place for family vacation, as the depth grows slowly - the descent is gentle. The sand is very fine, white, and the water is clear, with a turquoise hue. To the south, the sand becomes more grainy, this part of the beach is not very popular with tourists. But it will suit those wishing to enjoy solitude and silence.

At Bai Sao Beach you can rent a sun lounger for VND 60,000. Also available for amateurs active rest jet skis, kayaks, boats and surfboards are available at local hotels. There are several restaurants on the beach with an extensive menu. It should be borne in mind that "Bai-Sao" is enough expensive place... A standard seafood dinner with drinks will cost approximately VND 800,000 for two. Local traders walk along the shore selling juices and snacks for 20,000-40,000 VND. There are many gazebos and hammocks on the beach where you can relax after a hearty meal.

Practical information

From Fukuoka Airport to Bai Sao Beach, the most convenient way is to order a taxi, the services of which will cost approximately VND 300,000 one way. However, there is always an opportunity to rent a motorcycle for 200,000 VND per day, you just need to be careful - the road leading to the beach is not very good quality... Phu Quoc Island beaches:

Bai Sao - a paradise beach in Fukuoka?

Do you dream of heaven on earth and the travel agency told you that it is on Bai Sao? Don't be fooled - the beach is cool, but absolutely bounty. Many call it the best beach in Phu Quoc Island and in all of Vietnam, but we don't think so.

Tourists are brought to the center of the beach. These are mainly Vietnamese and Chinese - social creatures, where they all wallow in the water in one heap.

To the right, to the stones, there is an almost deserted beach, and it is no longer so clean there. Only single couples come here. The left side is more habitable: there are cafes, hotels, they sell fruits. Near the Paradiso restaurant there are slender palms leaning towards the water. Most of the Chinese live here: who would miss a photo shoot in fluttering chiffon dresses on a romantic swing?

But even on the "best" beach in Vietnam, you will behold a dump. The Vietnamese don't pay attention to garbage. Why export? We just throw it into the bushes.

We were very lucky: on the beach we did not find an abundance of sun loungers, inflatable trampolines, jet skis, boats and other activities. They did not understand why they were not there, because they wrote something else on the Internet. Get away from tourists, it will be quiet. But rubbish! In general, I liked the beach, but there was a feeling of annoyance after visiting. We did not return to Bai Sao again and we cannot call it the best beach in Fukuoka.

But enough about the cons. Here are the pros of the beach: clean water, fine white sand, very shallow entrance (good for small children), picturesque nature, almost seclusion, there are rudiments of infrastructure (resorts, cafes and restaurants, paid shower and even a free toilet).

How to get there. A taxi costs 300-400,000 VND, but it is cheaper and more interesting to rent a bike (150,000 VND per day). There are also excursions. Distance from the main beach of Long Beach is about 25 km.

So, you went to the beach. There are two roads leading to Bai Sao: one to the south of the beach (behind the stones) - and here is a real dump. The other goes to the civilized part. Both roads are concreted. The second one is very narrow, it is barely dispersed on it. As a result - traffic jams. The Vietnamese, in their favorite manner, simply did not complete the last 500-meter section of the road.

Hotels on Bai Sao beach

There are resorts and guesthouses on Bai Sao Beach, but for some reason they are not presented in online booking systems. On Roomguru.ru we found only My Lan Guesthouse and The Beach House An Thoi (right by the sea) - such things. And on Booking.com there are hotels further away - Phu Nam House and Hanh Mai Hotel.

Long Beach is the most comfortable beach in Fukuoka

Connoisseurs of convenience will love Long Beach. Probably 95% of the hotels of the whole island are concentrated along the beach! You can find food without getting up from the lounger - or rather, she will find you herself. Besides hawkers, there are many cafes both on the beach and along the road.

Many people criticize the beach - they say it is dirty and noisy. We have not observed anything like that. Let's just say: the beach is the most ordinary, it does not cause emotions. Yellow sand, pure water. There are no waves, the approach is gentle.

Minuses: although the beach is municipal, some hotels do not allow to settle on their territory - they are banished. Plus a little shadow, and beach strip very narrow. There are few civilized outlets to the sea - you need to either go around, or fight or secretly pass through the resorts (but almost always the security will prevent you). As you can see, there are many inconveniences - this beach cannot be called the best in Fukuoka either.

Hotels on Long Beach, Fukuoka

Long Beach has such a variety of hotels and resorts that it is difficult to choose. Many tours are sold specifically to hotels on Long Beach.

 • The Hill Resort 3 *. Nice brand new hotel. There is a pool, breakfasts, quiet. Price - $ 40.
 • Miana Resort 2 *. Hotel-garden. The best of all where we lived in Fukuoka. Cozy bungalows surrounded by flowers. Open bathroom, large pool, royal breakfasts. Price - $ 42.
 • Cozy Resort. Spacious bungalows surrounded by plants. There is no pool. Price - $ 25.
 • Sailing Hotel 2 *. Cozy breakfast hotel with 70s style rooms. Price - $ 25.

Rush Wem is the most beautiful beach in Fukuoka!

Bãi Rạch Vẹm is a beach with starfish, which are innumerable here. We consider it the most beautiful and impressive in Fukuoka, this is the best beach on the island! There is an unusually white and fine sand. We were stunned by such beauty and constantly photographed the beach.

Rush Wem is more suited to nature and stargazing than a traditional beach holiday. There is no infrastructure here, except for one seafood restaurant on the water. The beach area suitable for relaxation is narrow and small. The sea is shallow. There is almost no shadow - only 4-5 gazebos and one shed (a former cafe). Therefore, there are very few people!

Probably the title paradise beach we would give exactly Rush to Vem. Just don't go to the left, so as not to be disappointed :)

There are many pluses. Here are the cons: about 5 km to the beach - dusty and bumpy dirt road. No infrastructure! For inexpensive food you have to go to the track - take food with you.

Where is it and how to get there. You can get to the starfish beach in Fukuoka by taxi or bike along the highway to the north of the island - use MAPS.ME to navigate. Don't miss the huge signpost with a photo of the beach. A valiant Vietnamese woman stands nearby and sends everyone to the beach. If you go straight ahead, you will find yourself in a picturesque fishing floating village, which is also recommended to visit.

Bai Thom

Bãi Thơm is another beach with starfish in Fukuoka. It is not at all as impressive as Rush Wem, and hardly suitable for swimming. The sand is yellow. At low tide, you can see marine life: molluscs, starfish, crabs, some corals. There is no infrastructure, except for a cafe. Come to that stretch of the beach off the island - other parts are terrible.

Bai Khem

To the beach Bãi Khemleads two roads: one through the luxurious Marriott 5 * hotel, where only guests are allowed, the other through the forest. Only locals come here. When we were on the beach, a cheerful company of Vietnamese was walking, there were many children.

The beach is not equipped, there is nowhere to spread a towel. The sand is usually yellow. A lot of trash. But the beach area near the hotel is comfortable and clean - after all, a five-star resort!

Duong Dong Beach

This beach is located by the lighthouse. We do not recommend swimming here - there is a port nearby. Although the locals do not disdain. People come to the pier to eat and watch the sunset.

Just yesterday we went to Bai Sao Beach in Fukuoka. All bloggers and travel guides unanimously say that Bai sao the best and most beautiful beach in Phu Quoc. Is it really? Let's see and rate it together.

Bai Sao Phu Quoc Beach Overview

Bai Sao Beach is not as long as it might seem at first glance. It is quite possible to get around it in 20-30 minutes at a leisurely pace. Long Beach is much more. The first thing you see as soon as you come to the beach is a simple restaurant, straw umbrellas, old sun loungers and inappropriate plastic chairs on the sand. In fact, the beach is cut off from the rest of the world and holidaymakers have no choice where to eat. Either here or take a taxi to the nearest normal restaurant.

BaiSao Beach has the whitest white sand in Fukuoka. It is crispy and very pleasant to the feet. The water here is also almost perfect, if not for the occasionally floating debris. I don’t know about the situation with waves in other months, but in December there is not the slightest wave. To dive will have to go for a very long time, as the beach is shallow.

Sea at Bai Sao

The color of the water is not blue, but greenish. The water is clear, you can see everything under water. The sandy bottom and even not far from the coast, nimble long fishes scurry back and forth. The water is clean, there is no suspension and greasy deposits on the water surface in the sea, like Long Beach.

When you come here from cold and snowy Russia, Bai Sao will be perceived as a blissful paradise on planet Earth. Quiet, a minimum of civilization and transparent water from which you can not get out for hours.

We also noted that there is no biting plankton on Bai Sao beach. Only occasionally pinches the skin. The water seemed cool. Personally, I froze and basked in Slava, but I know that our people, on the contrary, like to flop out of the heat into cooler, even in places cold water.

Right side of the beach

We walked to the far right (southern) end of the beach to the stones. No one picks up the trash there wild beach just littered with both natural and human waste. But beautiful views.

The left side of the Bai Sao beach

We rested on the Bai Sao beach on the right side near the mountain. On the left side there are several cafes with sun loungers. Thus, it turns out that vacationers are divided into two corners, where they swim, sunbathe and eat.

The left side is more developed, the sun loungers are prettier, there are more tourists, there are water activities, kayaks and jet skis.

What did not like on Bai Sao

Why do we consider it not the most beautiful beach in Fukuoka? I didn't like a couple of nuances:

 • First, there are often bags in the water. There is no small garbage, but large packages float. But this is not a big problem, it is worth sailing away and the packages will not bother you. Simply, since this is the best beach, we could better monitor the purity of the water.
 • The same applies to the coastline. It is worth stepping aside, towards the large stones that perfectly fit into the picture of the beach, you can see heaps of garbage and neglect.
 • I didn’t like the two yellow-blue barns, which also do not fit into such an exotic beach. In a word, like huge inflatable trampolines for children. This yellow hulk so spoils the view exotic beachthat you want to immediately blow it off and remove it away from your eyes, as well as tear down the gnarled sheds as soon as possible. Don't the Vietnamese understand that these buildings spoil the appearance so much?

Bai Sao beach reviews

Impressions and reviews about Bai Sao are mixed. On the one hand, Bai Sao beach is beautiful with pleasant white sand, the sea is clear, there are no waves. But on the other hand, garbage in the water and on the shore is annoying. Ludicrous sheds and trampolines also don't paint the landscape. We were somehow uncomfortable here. And also near the beach there is no infrastructure, no shops, no restaurants, only beach cafes are monopolists with overpriced prices. The road to the beach, by the way, is unpaved and very dusty. More than 2 km from the road along bumps.

In conclusion, let's say that it is not at all necessary to go here on a bike and even more so take a taxi to get to Bai Sao. Better to have a tasty meal in an expensive restaurant for this money. We recommend combining your visit to Bai Sao beach with other attractions in the southern part of Fukuoka, as the Coconut Prison is nearby and there is a waterfall along the way.

PS: for us the most beautiful beach turned out to be another part of Fukuoka. Wait for an article about him very soon!

How to get to Bai Sao

On a bike, follow the road to the south of the island. Before reaching the coconut prison a couple of kilometers, on the left side there will be a sign for Bai Sao beach and an exit to the dirt road. If you do not have a bike, then you can independently get to Bai Sao by sightseeing tour by Fukuoka, which costs about $ 20. Taxi will cost more.

Hotels near Bai Sao beach

The choice of hotels on Bai Sao is small. Only one hotel on the first line is available for booking on Agode. There are also 3 more hotels located on the highway, from which you can walk to the beach in 20 minutes.

 • My Lan Guest House - hotel on the first line
 • PHU NAM HOUSE - inexpensive houses
 • Hong Chau Guesthouse - hotel on the highway, 2 km from the sea
 • Vien Duong Guesthouse - guest on the track
 • Thanh Thanh Guesthouse - another guesthouse on the main road

Bai Sao Beach is one of the three most beautiful beaches Vietnam, and top beaches South-East Asia... It is located on east coast Fukuoka in the southern part of the island. This respectable place seems to have come out of a picture of a tropical bliss. An excellent location for a family vacation, relaxing lying in the shade of an umbrella and evenings with a glass of wine in the rays of the setting sun. The beach is fine, like flour, white sand, and the water is so transparent that even at a depth you can see everything that happens at the bottom.

Bai Sao has turquoise water, a slow, gentle descent into the water, which will give a feeling of safety when resting with children, and allow kids to splash safely in the water. To the south of the beach, the sand becomes coarser; this part of the beach is not so popular with conservative tourists, but is perfect for lovers of solitude and silence.

Sun loungers cost from 100,000 dongs, but if you come with your own blanket or towel, no one will drive you off the beach - in Vietnam, all beaches are public, and 15 meters to the water belong to everyone. Parking near the hotels is paid, keep in mind that it can cost 100,000 - 150,000 VND, this price includes an order at the bar. it reasonable price for a well-kept beach with good service and superb views.

Also on the beach there is an opportunity to rent jet skis, kayaks and kayaks, ride a boat and stand up paddle board. Along the coast are located fashionable resorts, and going to a restaurant in one of them will cost you a pretty penny. A standard dinner with seafood and alcohol will cost about VND 1,000,000. But on the shore you can always find local traders selling juices and fruits for reasonable money.

How to get to Bai Sao Phu Quoc

It makes sense to go to the beach for the whole day with a big company. It will be cheaper, because you can rent a minibus for 1,000,000 - 1,200,000 dongs for 10-12 people. A taxi ride from Zuongduong will cost at least 250,000 dong, it is wiser to rent a bike if you are traveling alone or together.
