MOSCOW, September 29. / TASS /. The number of people injured in an accident with a passenger bus that overturned near the Kerch ferry crossing in Crimea has reached 15 people. The deputy head of the city Dilyaver Melgaziev told TASS about it.
"15 people were taken to the first hospital. One woman was taken to the operating room, four people - rib fractures, bruises. The rest are examined, they take pictures and everything else," he said.
According to him, there were children on the bus, they were also hospitalized.
Rescuers came to the aid of the passengers, taking people out of the bus.
The regional ministry of health reports 10 victims, of which eight are in serious condition.
Accident version
The cause of the bus accident was a wheel explosion, Yelena Loseva, press secretary of the United Transport Directorate, told TASS.
“A bus that got into an accident near the Kerch crossing exploded a wheel,” she said.
According to her, there were 50 people on the bus, eight of them were hospitalized. "All of them were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. All passengers were insured, and in the event of an insured event, they will receive insurance compensation. The amount of insurance payment will depend on the severity of the injury," she said.
