Bulgaria resort saint vlas. The Bulgarian resort of Saint Vlas is a piece of paradise on Earth. Saint Vlas in autumn

Hotels of St. Vlas (Bulgaria) are becoming more and more popular. This young growing resort is located half an hour drive from Burgas Airport and five minutes from the famous Sunny Beach resort. Its appearance is being built in a clever way, with complex infrastructure projects, which, fortunately, has passed the "infill development", which was, fortunately, popular in the last century, but is now outdated. The resort was built here not on a bare place, but as if in addition to the already existing county town. Thus, tourists here are not initially deprived of banking, medical and other infrastructural institutions, etc.

The cost of tours to hotels in this resort is quite budgetary. Local 3-star service is priced for one person for 7 nights at a rate of € 275-300; four-star - 380-430 €; five-star - 450-550 €. Thus, a Bulgarian five-star tour can be purchased for the price of a Turkish three-star tour.

The main feature of the rest in the hotels of St. Vlas is a calm atmosphere, family orientation of rest and a powerful therapeutic effect from the combination of the purest mountain air with the healing water of the Black Sea. Those interested can turn to specialists for professional spa treatments. There is also a picturesque yacht marina where you can rent a boat. The Straya Planina mountain range provides the maximum comfortable climate for allergy sufferers and asthmatics. In the resort of Saint Vlas, nature itself heals. The secret to wellness is that local air is, in contrast to the classic sea, much drier. Practice shows: tourists who have rested at the resort during the holiday season in cold weather are much less susceptible to respiratory diseases.

Hotel facilities of the resort

Five-star hotel complexes in this resort are few in number. Travel agencies recommend one of them - "Garden of Eden". However, not far from Sveti Vlas, just 4 km away, there is another five-star - Royal Castle Design & Spa Hotel... Four-star service is provided to their guests by the Apartcomplex Olymp, Marina Sunrise hotels, the St. George Hotel. The main mass of tourists chooses the hotels of St. Vlas (Bulgaria) of three-level "star rating". It is they, relatively compact and neat, that are most numerous here.

The resort of Saint Vlas (Bulgaria) enjoys stable and well-deserved popularity among people who want to strengthen and heal their lungs. It is not a problem to find a hotel here ahead of time, since the existing infrastructure has a fairly wide range of 43 hotels, ranging from three to five stars.

"Tropics"

Three-star hotel "Tropics" (Saint Vlas, Bulgaria) with 52 rooms is located just 70 meters from the beach and 15 minutes walk from the resort center. Despite the fact that it is located within the city limits, it is calm here. The four-storey building of the hotel complex is quite presentable. Its façade, decorated with intricate glazing, faces a city street, and a pool area is equipped behind its rear side.

The hotel has spacious double rooms, new ergonomic furniture, air conditioning, comfortable furnished loggia. The TV is tuned to Russian channels. serviceable and roomy enough. The reception area has a decent Wi-Fi speed. The hotel staff is Russian speaking.

The hotel has a children's playground and a children's pool. The territory of the hotel complex is quite compact, there is little vegetation on it.

"Iris"

Also, a comfortable three-star vacation is guaranteed by the Iris Hotel (Bulgaria, Saint Vlas). The three-storey hotel building has a rectangular outline with spacious balconies. The hotel area is small, it is designed as a single terrace with an outdoor pool.

Its 45 rooms provide a relaxing family holiday for its guests. The interior decoration of the rooms is dominated by "warm" colors: orange, brown, pastel-coffee. The furniture of the client rooms corresponds to the economy class.

It is close enough to another, noisier and more populous resort of Sunny Beach. From the windows of the third floor you can see its beaches and hotels. The sandy beach of the Iris Hotel is small but neat. In the pool area, thanks to the shade from the walls of the building, you can hide from the sun. The hotel's food is noted in reviews as good.

"Larisa"

The three-star hotel "Larisa" (Bulgaria, St. Vlas), unlike the two already mentioned, hospitably opens the doors of two hotel buildings to its guests. Go 7 minutes to the sea. There are many inexpensive shops and restaurants around. Hypermarket "Mercury" is a 10-minute walk away. The staff is Russian speaking. Good hospitality towards guests. Internet in the hotel is free.

If the furniture, household appliances, plumbing equipment of "Larissa" is about the same class as in "Tropik" and "Iris", then lovers of cleanliness will surely enjoy staying in it: rooms are cleaned more often - daily, linen is changed every 5 days. In addition, despite the compactness of the territory, it is planted with fruit trees and ornamental plantings.

"Panorama"

Hotel "Panorama" (Bulgaria, St. Vlas) 3 * also offers its visitors a solid range of hotel services of a three-star level in a three-storey small building containing 24 rooms. The hotel is organizationally a family business. The spouses are the owners. The husband solves organizational and procurement issues. My wife helps in the kitchen, and another relative works there. The son is on duty at the reception.

According to the guests' reviews, the Panorama restaurant deserves special praise. The team here prepares an assortment of dishes that exceeds the level of three stars. If breakfast can be called standard and light, then lunch and dinner are cooked at home, and the first and second dishes are prepared for vacationers in two versions.

"Saint Vlas"

On the third line from the sea there is a three-star hotel "Saint Vlas" (Bulgaria). Reviews of tourists about him testify to the efforts of the staff to please the guests of the hotel. It should be admitted that Bulgaria is distinguished by the quality of resort economy rest. The Saint Vlas Hotel (photo demonstrates this) is a typical example of a well-run private family hotel business: a neat residential building, a clean swimming pool, a pleasant calm atmosphere, good food, cozy rooms. A safe is located at the reception. Guests use the municipal beach.

There is a bus stop not far from the hotel complex, from where you can go to the noisy resort of Sunny Beach.

The obvious advantage of the hotel is the proximity to the shopping center. However, the extreme compactness of the territory of this hotel complex makes it less attractive for families with small children.

"Julia"

According to reviews, the three-star hotel "Julia" (Bulgaria, St. Vlas) is convenient for families with small children, it is distinguished by its well-established and almost home-like quality food, the presence of a children's playroom, slides near the children's pool. He is in the third line. A transfer is organized in the morning - to the beach - and in the afternoon - from the beach. The owner Boyan and his wife Iskra conduct their spa business with knowledge and sincerity.

You can choose the type of food for yourself. The staff speaks fluent Russian, but among the guests are Russian-speaking - about 50%. The second half of the tourists are British, Danes, Germans. Most of the guests come here with their families, i.e. with their children.

"Saint George"

For older people, as well as for families with small children, the four-star hotel "St. George" (Bulgaria, St. Vlas) is optimal. It was built in 2009, which made it possible to take into account the needs of modern hotel facilities. The spacious rooms are provided with simple yet functional modern furnishings and appliances.

The hotel restaurant provides its guests with a variety of nutritious and delicious food. The restaurant menu is varied and varied. Visitors note the decent taste of meat and fish dishes, as well as an abundance of fruits.

When hotel complex there is a mini-club. There is a well-maintained children's playground. Animators are engaged with children. The territory of the hotel is prudently fenced, which allows parents during these hours to relax their constant supervision of the baby. During this time, for example, you can visit the hotel fitness club with exercise equipment or swim in the pool.

Beach vacation

Tourists who have rested in Sveti Vlas recommend this resort in their reviews. They unanimously mark the local especially clean and pleasant air. The mountains, like a natural barrier, do not allow wet air masses to pass through. The air in Sveti Vlas is a cocktail of mountain freshness and sea ions, it is relatively dry. The average temperature is 27 degrees. The holiday season lasts from May to September.

Sandy beaches of St. Vlas "Marina" and "Central" are quite small, the sea area near them is limited by compact bays. Connoisseurs of tanning and bathing, noisy youth parties, water sports they prefer to use transport to visit the wide beaches of Sunny Beach that stretch along the coast. They can be reached in 15 minutes by bus.

Nutrition

Let's try to guide the prices of food for those wishing to visit the resort of Saint Vlas (Bulgaria). The economy class hotel treats its visitors with portioned meat for 17 leva; the second course in a pot, spicy with ham or feta cheese, or an omelet - 7 leva; soup - up to 4 leva; salad - 3 levs (1 lev is a little more than 35 Russian rubles).

Gourmet tourists were also not offended. The restaurant with a view of the sea and the embankment "Bistro B41" has earned good recommendations in the reviews (risotto, mussels, Mexican chicken, chicken steak, Greek salad are very tasty). Good national cuisine can be tasted at the Vodopady restaurant (meat and fish sac, bean soup, tarator, all kinds of pancakes). In "Kotva" it is worth trying the signature cake and paella, moussaka and kawarma.

In general, the infrastructure of St. Vlas, its street cafes and restaurants can significantly expand the hotel's diet. They are inexpensive and welcoming. In them you can taste potatoes with feta cheese, shrimp, various salads, original cooked chicken. The kiosks sell delicious pizza and pies.

Shopping

The resort of Saint Vlas (Bulgaria) is considered a good place to buy souvenirs and various household items. A hotel - almost any hotel, even with on-site shops - by itself may not always satisfy the tastes of shopping gourmets. But the nearby infrastructure of small retail establishments organically complements its capabilities.

The main street pleases with an abundance of shops and restaurants in a resort like St. Vlas (Bulgaria). The hotel quarters of the city come close to it. Currency exchange rates at local exchange offices are much better than at the airport.

However, the local shopping opportunities are, frankly, not rich. All the same, the trade of the county town is the trade of the county town. The Mercury Grandmarket presents some variety. But tourists should not go too far in their expectations from the resort trade. You can count on local souvenirs worth up to 50 BGN.

But if you have big plans for shopping - do not despair, because transport infrastructure Saint Vlas gives you a chance to implement them all the same. You will be absolutely right in pinning your hopes on how “option B” will suit a trip to the shopping centers of Burgas.

Output

The resort of Saint Vlas is fundamentally different from the neighboring Sunny Beach. Its climate is more salubrious. The town is not in vain chosen by Western tourists: it is being built according to the patterns of a classic western resort. Neat streets, shops, immaculate roads. Everything is quiet, beautiful, decorous. Here in the evenings, as in the neighboring Sunny Beach, you cannot see crowds of drunken youth. Europeans, accustomed to order, feel comfortable and at ease here: Germans, British, etc. Among the guests, by the way, they are the majority.

Calm resort, worthy place. Judging by the reviews, many tourists who have been here are not averse to visiting this place again.

“Saint Vlas? Where is this anyway? " - this is how every conversation begins when they ask me which resort in Bulgaria I flew to. It is a pity that few people know about this wonderful place. Or vice versa? I am inclined to believe that perhaps the lack of crowds of tourists during the high season creates a very special atmosphere in the town. You go out onto the street leading to the beach, look around, and it seems that nature seemed to hold its breath for a moment. Bright sun, blue sky, green mountain slopes and blue sea - this is the main color palette of St. Vlas in summer.

Going to Bulgaria, I was looking for a quiet resort located near the crowded Sunny Beach. I wanted privacy against the backdrop of picturesque landscapes, a clean beach, decent restaurants with a selection of the freshest seafood and a decent night club for Saturday nights. I found all this in Sveti Vlas.

What do we know about this place today? To begin with, it should be noted that the history of the city goes back to the 2nd century AD. However, the village received its current name only in 1886. It was given the status of a city in 2006 and from that moment on, the local oligarchs, the Dinev brothers, began to actively build up a modest fishing settlement. And they still do it on a large scale and far-reaching prospects.

Considering the fact that the city has a unique healing microclimate, it is here that you can combine health improvement and relaxation. The air saturated with iodine ions has a beneficial effect on the lungs and on the entire body as a whole.

Today Saint Vlas is fashionable seaside resort... A large yacht club is located here, where many gorgeous snow-white "beauties" are moored, against which vacationers love to take photos.

There is a good night bar and a part-time club nearby. Every Friday and Saturday, a line of expensive polished cars pulls here. Often in the parking lot you can find the latest models of Porsche, Mercedes and Ferrari. As it turned out in a conversation with the locals, golden youth from all over the coast flock here.

In a relatively compact town, there are several hotels that proudly bear the status of five stars. Fine restaurants with open terraces, on which fans are installed, delight the eye with a panorama of the sea, and the stomach - with fresh seafood. What else do you need for a great vacation? Of course, a luxurious spa salon that meets all modern requirements and, of course, a spacious beach and a warm sea.

An atmosphere of calmness and privacy reigns in Saint Vlas, which is not typical for resort Bulgaria. In the neighboring Sunny Beach, heavily drunk teenagers from Europe, who escaped from parental care for a week, have fun in the evenings. After contemplating all this, I could not wait to return to Saint Vlas and continue to rest in my soul and, of course, in my body. Although, maybe, at the age of 18, I would have joined this fun, but I have already outgrown this age.

Another pleasant moment is that the town is absolutely safe. The houses of important officials are located here, therefore special attention is paid to this issue. Some streets even have surveillance cameras.

So let's go. Everything in order.

How to get there

Saint Vlas is located on the Black Sea coast just 5 kilometers from the largest resort Bulgaria - Sunny Beach. Transport links with this city are very good, so getting to it will not be difficult. The fastest way is by plane. You can also get there by train and bus.

By plane

The most convenient way will be to fly to the city airport. We open a ticket booking website, choose an airline and a convenient flight and look forward to our vacation. It is better to first compare options and prices for flights. This can be done, for example,.

In general, in my opinion, a car in Bulgaria will not be superfluous. The roads are good enough, right-hand traffic, as usual for us. Plus, the trip will be much more interesting, since many monasteries and wineries are located in the mountains, where public transport does not go.

By train

Good news for those who, for whatever reason, prefer to travel by train: from Moscow and St. Petersburg you can get by rail to Bulgaria.

In the summer season (May - September), trains depart twice a week from the Kievsky railway station. Travel time is about two days.

Tickets go on sale 60 days before train departure. The price (one way) is about USD 200-250. Better to buy in advance. It will be more expensive closer to the departure date.

Travelers from St. Petersburg will first have to get to Moscow (from USD 40 one way) and wait for the train to Burgas there.

How to get from the station

FROM railway station You can get from Burgas to St. Vlas by taxi (30–40 USD) or by bus. First, we look for a route to Sunny Beach, and there we change to bus # 5 or # 8. They both go as far as Saint Vlas.

By bus

From Moscow, from the Yugo-Zapadnaya metro station, from the end of May to the end of December, you can leave for Bulgaria by a “Bulgarian Express” bus. Travel time is a little over a day. The route crosses the border with Ukraine, Moldova, Romania and finally Bulgaria. An adult ticket costs around 130 USD.

I'm not sure if this is the most successful way to get to Bulgaria, as crossing the border can increase the trip from 25 hours to infinity. The bus goes to the Burgas bus station, but passes through St. Vlas, where it makes two stops.

By car

The distance from Moscow to St. Vlas is about 2000 kilometers.

The route is the same as for traveling by bus (see above). Plus, you need to take into account one or two nights on the road. Before the trip, it is better to immediately decide in which cities you will stop for rest.

From St. Petersburg the road is about 400 kilometers longer (2400 km).

Basically, if you are in no hurry, you feel confident behind the wheel, and a person who can replace you on the way is traveling with you, you can go by car. But it is better to do this in the summer.

By ferry

Unfortunately, there is no ferry service from Russia. But on the other hand, you can get to Bulgaria by ferry from the town of Chornomorsk in Ukraine. So, if you find yourself close to Odessa and want to take a sea trip to Varna, this option is for you.

A ticket to a cabin with three meals a day for an adult on the route Chornomorsk - Varna will cost around 70 USD. The ship goes along the Black Sea past Romania.

The second option is to drive your car to Romania and cross the Danube in the city of Calafat with the car. The journey takes about 15 minutes. However, you will have to tinker with the procedure for filling out the papers for transporting the car. Another nuance - the ferries do not have a clear timetable. Everything is simple here: we will sail off as soon as the ship is full. The ticket price is about 4 USD, for the car you need to pay 25 USD and plus the port fee 2 USD.

So, in 15 minutes you will moor at the Bulgarian port in the town of Vidin. Here you will need to buy a vignette for driving inland. The minimum period (10 days) will cost approximately 10 USD.

From this wonderful town, where you can walk a little and inspect the ancient fortress, another 640 kilometers to go to St. Vlas.

It seems to me that this option is suitable only for those who really love to travel, who crave new impressions from the very being on the road, and, of course, for those who are not limited in time.

When is the season. When is the best time to go

It all depends on the purpose of your trip. In general, from October the resort says goodbye to holidaymakers and falls asleep until the end of April - beginning of May. This is the most difficult season for locals, since there is practically no work and they have to be on forced leave.

If you are going to sunbathe and swim, choose the time from June to the end of September. During this period, the water is warm, and it is even hot outside.

If you are more interested in walking and sightseeing, then it is better to go in April-May or September-October. There are very few tourists during these seasons, but the weather is pleasant enough. Walking in the summer heat under the scorching sun is a bad idea. Therefore, feel free to go in the spring or autumn.

Most of the restaurants may still be closed, but the hotel will always gladly serve you.

In winter, the situation escalates, there are practically no people. But you can spend time in the spa.

Saint Vlas in summer

The highest season is in the summer months: June, July and August. At this time, the sea water is warm, the sun is quite hot, and the time for seasonal fruits and vegetables comes. In June, tourists are just starting to fill hotels, and in July there are many times more people on the streets and beaches.

My trip fell on the beginning of June, and I can safely say that this is a great time. Saint Vlas, in principle, is not crowded with vacationers, and at this time there are very few people here. This is a great opportunity to enjoy all the beauty and get a light tan under the rays of the gentle sun.

The sea water does not resemble fresh milk, but the temperature allows you to swim and cool slightly. In the evenings, restaurants always have free tables, you can choose any to your taste. If you find it cool to sit on the open terrace, ask for a blanket and the problem will disappear!

Don't miss the opportunity to feast on sweet strawberries, cherries and apricots, which are sold outside in stalls. Cheap and delicious! Vitamin charge is provided to you!

Average daily air temperature by months:

  • june + 25 ° С;
  • july + 29 ° C;
  • august + 29 ° C.

Water temperature:

  • june + 22 ° C;
  • july + 25 ° C;
  • august + 26 ° C.

Accommodation prices start to rise in June and reach their peak by August.

Saint Vlas in autumn

September can also be considered a good vacation month. It closes the season smoothly. The water in the sea is still warm enough (about + 23 ° C), and the air does not have time to cool down from the hot summer sun - the temperature is kept at + 25 ° C. Parents are already taking their children home, prices are rapidly falling for absolutely everything (starting with food and ending with accommodation in hotels). For little money, you can buy delicious grapes and peaches.

In October, the resort is empty, but for those wishing to improve their health, this is an excellent opportunity to spend time profitably at low prices. The air temperature is about + 17 ° C. It's already cold to swim in the sea. Although, taking into account the fact that half of Russia dives into an ice hole at Christmas, + 18 ° C will seem to someone quite a suitable temperature. Option for walruses!

Saint Vlas in spring

April and May are also very good for relaxation. It's too early to swim (the water is cold), but there is no such sweltering heat. And the prices for hotels and flights are much lower.

This is the perfect month for those who want to avoid the influx of tourists and quietly, without queuing, explore temples and churches, ride in the mountains, visit a winery and taste local wine.

In April, the temperature is about + 15 ° C, and in May it is already about + 20 ° C. Lightweight windbreakers are perfect for walking.

Saint Vlas in winter

Winter on the coast is not very comfortable, as cold winds from the sea bring moisture. But this does not frighten our travelers either.

By mid-December, whole families come here to meet New Year and spend the holidays. Almost all restaurants are closed, but in hotels you can enjoy delicious lunch and dinner. If you choose an apartment for living, you will have your own kitchen and you can prepare your favorite meals. Products can be bought at the supermarket, which I will write about next.

A visit to the spa will be an unforgettable experience for girls. Time flies by there. In addition, many health programs are designed for 5-7 days.

Sveti Vlas - monthly weather

Districts. Where is the best place to live

It is best to stay close to the sea. If only because the terrain is mountainous and rises from the coast to the mountains. Therefore, you will have to go up from the beach.

I would distinguish two zones in the city:

  • The first is from the beach to the highway.
  • The second is from the highway to the foot of the mountains.

I advise all vacationers to stay in the first zone, which is obvious. The walk to the beach will take no more than 10-15 minutes. Back you will have to climb up the hill, but this is not critical.

It will be much more inconvenient to stay in zone 2 and walk 20 minutes to the sea every day for half an hour back. Believe me, this is extremely unpleasant in the heat. The second zone has only one plus - the price in hotels will be lower. But this advantage is somewhat questionable, since the best hotels are located near the beach.

There are several small beaches in the city, they resemble separate coves. You can take a walk and find one that you like. I chose narrow strips of sand where there are no people, since there is very little space. For those who do not want to have "neighbors" around - a great option.

Saint Vlas is a very small town, as can be seen by looking at the map. However, it offers a wide range of hotels and apartments. These are mainly 3 and 4 star hotels. But there are several options for maximum stardom. You can compare prices for accommodation, but the easiest way to book a room you like is.

The most famous five-star hotel is Garden оf Eden (located next to the beach in zone 1).

The name speaks for itself! The beautiful garden laid out on the territory of the hotel really gives it a special charm. It is very convenient that leaving the garden, you find yourself directly on the beach. However, you will have to pay for a sun lounger, as well as for using the wireless Internet. Still, the Bulgarian five stars is a very subjective thing. No robes or slippers in the rooms are worth looking for. But in any case, this option is very much loved by our tourists. In June for standart room you will have to pay 40 USD, in July - 50 USD, in August - 70 USD, in September - 40 USD. The price formation logic is clear. The most expensive holiday is in August, and this is not surprising.

Other worthy of attention the hotel was built by the order of the Dinev brothers next to the yacht club (zone 1). Hotel Palace Marina Dinevi offers guests not only a standard set of services of a five-star hotel, but also other pleasant things.

However, here in June you will have to pay about 120 USD per room. Judging by the previous example, it will be slightly more expensive in July, and the highest prices are in August. It should be noted that this is the most elite area in Sveti Vlas.

What else does the resort offer to its guests? All-inclusive hotels. Yes, you heard right. This option will appeal to families with children, since you do not have to wander with your child in search of a restaurant for lunch or dinner. Given that the city seems to descend to the sea, and you often have to walk uphill, the all-inclusive option is not so bad. Although there are so many nice cafes and restaurants around with stunning views, delicious food and live music in the evenings, the temptation to dine in a new place every day is very great.

Also in the city there is a large number of good "three rubles" with small pools and quite hearty breakfasts. Prices start at USD 30 per night with breakfast included.

An even more budget option is to rent an apartment with your own kitchen.

You can choose good options for such housing for yourself. Breakfasts will have to be prepared on their own, or on the way to the beach, drop by one of the many cafes. But if you are an early bird, then you should not expect to be fed everywhere at 7 or 8 in the morning. Many establishments open from 10-11 hours.

Another nuance - the closer the hotel is to the beach, the more expensive it will cost. The difference will not be very big, but nevertheless it is worth considering. If it's not a problem for you to walk about 15 minutes to the beach, then you can save a little. Just remember that you have to go uphill from the beach. A fit figure is guaranteed here!

What are the prices for rest

With hotels sorted out, now about other costs.

Restaurants

Probably the highest prices are in restaurants located on the beach and near the yacht club. The average bill per person will be about 20 USD (salad, fish or meat kebab with a side dish and a glass of wine or beer).

The portions are large, so you shouldn't order like in Russia - salad, first, second and dessert. Not everyone can eat it. The cocktail menu is usually quite rich, prices are in the range of 5-6 USD.

Spa services

In one of the best spas on the coast - Victoria SPA - prices are quite European level. We'll have to fork out, but it's worth it. As an example, I will give the most common procedures.

  • classical massage 1 hour - about 35 USD;
  • massage in the hamam with foam - about 20 USD;
  • reflexology - 45 USD;
  • mud therapy - about 30 USD;
  • bath with medicinal salts - 25 USD;

Despite the prices, this place is very popular with visitors.

Excursions

There are many travel agencies in Sveti Vlas offering excursions around interesting places... Historical programs are very diverse, you can also choose an entertainment trip.

Approximate prices:

  • a walk around Nessebar with lunch - about 3 USD;
  • visiting Sofia, Plovdiv and Rila Monastery - from 90 USD;
  • a trip to a water park in Sunny Beach - 25 USD;
  • visit to the stud farm, horse riding, lunch and wine tasting - about 55 USD;
  • fishing on a yacht - from 40 USD.

Of course, all these places can be visited independently, by car (with the exception of boat trips). But in this case, you will not have a guide.

Major attractions. What to see

It is very pleasant to walk along Sveti Vlas, despite the fact that sometimes you have to go up the hill. Walking the streets past numerous shops with cute trinkets, you will definitely look into one of them and you will not leave without a purchase.

From the open verandas of the restaurants, aromas are heard, inhaling which, you understand that it's time to refresh yourself. In the city center, many cafes have very beautiful panoramic views of the coast. You sit at a table, admire the rooftops of houses below and the blue of the sea, and thoughts fly away somewhere far, far away.

On the way to the hotel, be sure to pass through the center, once again admire the Church of St. Blasius, look into the amphitheater - what if you are lucky enough to attend a performance that is often held here! The city may not boast of a large number of attractions and museums, but it is very cozy, compact, photogenic and very soulful. It seems that you are in a place that has been familiar to you since childhood.

There are cities in which you feel like a stranger, superfluous, and there are those where a feeling of calmness is born - as if you came to visit old friends.

Top 5

As I already wrote, the city is not rich in sights, but still they are.

I present to you my Top 5. And I will write more about these places just below in the relevant sections.

Beaches. Which is better

There are essentially three beaches in Sveti Vlas. The main one is located in the Old Town area. It is divided into a paid and a free zone. On the first section there are sun loungers with umbrellas (about 4 USD for each item), and on the second section you can enjoy your beach vacation on your own blanket.

Lifepack for the budget conscious - until 9:00 am and after 17:00 you can use the loungers absolutely free.

Paid parking is available near the beach (around USD 4–5) where you can park your car.

Volleyball, basketball and football pitches gather here every day for active pastime fans.

Two other beaches are located in the yacht club area.

it South beach (South Beach) and Venid Beach (beach "Venid"). For guests of the resort Dinevi Resort sun loungers, awning tents and umbrellas are provided free of charge. The rest will have to pay 5 USD. The beaches are very beautiful with soft sand and many bars serving cooling cocktails and snacks.

Also located right on the beach are spas, sailing schools for adults and children, water scooter rental, windsurfing equipment and much more.

Churches and temples. Which are worth visiting

The city has a temple and a church worthy of your attention.

Temple of Athanasius the Great

Outwardly, it does not at all look like a temple or a church. It is a typical one-story building with a red tile roof. It is very easy to find it. There is a transport ring in the very center of the city. Climb 250 meters up from it and see the temple.

Interestingly, it was built during the time of the Turkish dominance, around 1865. There are no bells here, because the Turks forbade their ringing to be heard in the city. A bell tower was recently erected near the temple with donations.

Church of St. Blasius

This church is the hallmark of the city. It was built in 2007 on the site of a monastery destroyed by the Turks in the 17th century. Named in honor of the great martyr and patron saint of the city. The snow-white building with a golden dome is hard to miss, you will definitely not pass by. From the marina go up and a little to the right you will see the church building.

Take a look inside, admire the interior decoration and magnificent paintings. The church contains two relics: a particle of the cross on which Jesus was crucified, and the relics of St. Blaise. Regardless of the fact that you are on vacation, remember to dress appropriately to enter the church.

Museums. Which are worth visiting

If you have some free time, check out the Motorcycle Museum. It represents only one room in which motor vehicles are displayed.

The collection is small, but there are examples from the period of the First and Second World Wars. It must be said that the museum is owned by one person, he is also a guide and a mechanic. Children will be interested.

Often in the Arena amphitheater (which by and large is not a museum, but rather a theater under open air) national dances take place, actors prepare performances and various show programs.

Tourist streets

There are only two of them in the city. The first one is King Simeon (marked with number 1 on the map). It starts at main square... A large number of restaurants, grocery stores, souvenir shops are concentrated here. Quite a pleasant place to walk. Choosing one of the restaurants, you can enjoy the beautiful sea view below.

The second street runs parallel to the marina (number 2). There are also restaurants and branded stores here.

Another pleasant area for walking is the Old Town. Tsar Simeon Street is also a part of it.

What to see in 1 day

In one day, St. Vlas can be walked up and down, look into churches, walk along the beaches, dine at a restaurant, buy souvenirs, take dozens of beautiful photos. But the city disposes to measured, unhurried rest. Therefore, he should be given at least a week. And given the fact that the surroundings of the city are incredibly picturesque and the excursion program is very diverse, you can safely go here for three to four weeks. Of course, depending on how much time you have left.

What to see in the vicinity

Bulgarian village of Bata

It is located 30 kilometers from Bourgas and is a very nice place. Simple villagers live here, who lead their usual village lifestyle. Of course, since tourists began to come here in large numbers, many things began to look artificial, but nevertheless, these are not decorations, but real rural life.

It should be noted that this is not exactly what is called a village in our understanding. Bata is a tiny, cozy town with ancient cobbled streets, gingerbread houses and even a small water mill.

Walking through the narrow streets, look into houses where a wood carver, a potter, or a woman spinning fabrics work. There are also souvenir shops with fragrant soap, Bulgarian cosmetics, and products of local artisans. At the entrance to the village in the evenings, guests are treated to rakia (a drink for everyone's taste). Overall, the place definitely deserves attention.

Euxinograd castle

The majestic building located near Varna includes the castle itself, a huge park, slopes with vineyards and a winery. Here you can wander along the shady alleys for a long time and admire the picturesque views.

Don't miss the opportunity to visit the winery and taste the wines. You can buy a bottle of the excellent Riesling and hit the road.

Sozopol

In 75 kilometers from St. Vlas there is a wonderful open-air museum city -.

Founded in the 2nd century, it was only discovered in 1972 after a landslide that fell from the mountains. Him central part recognized as an archaeological reserve. Everything here is really steeped in history: thick stone fragments of walls and arches, narrow streets, which are pleasant to walk along.

You can go to the port and visit the small chapel of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, whom sailors consider the patron saint of the sea. It is he who keeps the coast from floods. Sailors leaving for voyages are confident that the waters will be calm and will not pose any danger.

Also check out the Thracian Khan house. This 19th century building contains household items, national clothes and folk costumes.

The village of Ravadinovo

It became famous thanks to the construction of a real palace, which is to be transformed into a luxury tourist complex. Drive here from St. Vlas about 80 kilometers.

Interestingly, construction is underway at the moment, but curious tourists are already allowed inside for 4 USD. Perhaps very soon it will be possible to book a room in this amazing place. In the meantime, we just walk and watch.

Food. What to try

I present to you my hit parade of the most delicious dishes in my opinion.

  • Shkembe Chorba... A very rich spicy tripe soup is good to order in the evening or during the cool season.
  • Moussaka... The Bulgarian casserole has become my favorite. The filling is very juicy and the ingredients perfectly complement each other's taste.

    Banitsa... There are many types of it, and you can't try everything. Inside there can be meat, vegetables, cheese, and cottage cheese, there is even a fruit jar. Try any, you won't go wrong!

    Baked lamb... It is not served in every cafe, since it takes a long time to prepare. But often this meat with the most delicate taste can be found on the menu. Meat lovers will appreciate it.

  • Kawarma... The dish is simple and hearty - stewed vegetables with meat.
  • Ovcharsky salad.

Be sure to check out the grocery store and pay attention to the dairy section. Bulgarian ayran, feta cheese, sour milk, yellow cheese and yoghurts simply have no equal in the price-quality category. Perhaps Swiss dairy products will not be inferior in quality, but their price is several times higher. Therefore, we buy and charge the body with beneficial bacteria.

Budget

For cheap food, I would advise you to try fast food, which is abundant on the streets of the city.

Middle level

  • "Admiral";
  • Gloria Mar;
  • "Siana";
  • Central.

Expensive

  • "Manastira";
  • "Vodenitsa";
  • "Starata Mill";
  • Triumph (Russian cuisine);
  • Victorio (fish restaurant);
  • Nar (Georgian cuisine).

Holidays

There are no lavish celebrations and festivities in the city. The most favorite holiday of the townspeople is Christmas. On the evening of December 24, families sit down at the festive table and spend time in a cozy atmosphere.

Usually the most spectacular events take place at the Marina Dinevi Yacht Club. You need to follow the poster, since the site is the venue for many fashion events, including sailing regattas.

Safety. What to watch out for

As I already wrote, in Sveti Vlas, great attention is paid to the issue of security. However, there is no need to leave your bags and backpacks unattended on the beach. I also do not advise you to take large sums of money, documents and a lot of equipment when you go to the sea. It is better to leave valuables in the safe for peace of mind. And take enough money to buy fruit, water and a snack.

Walking around the city in the evenings is also absolutely safe. The only thing is that many streets are empty after 22:00 and it becomes a little uncomfortable, although lights are on everywhere.

You can change money at any exchange office - the rate is almost the same everywhere. But it's better to walk around and compare for interest.

Things to do

Guided mountain walks are organized for nature lovers in Sveti Vlas. The length of the route is about 5 kilometers, but sometimes it can change slightly. In any case, you will learn about the local flora and fauna, have a great time surrounded by picturesque nature, breathing in the mountain air. If you wish, you can take water and light snacks with you - they will come in handy during your stops. Shoes should be comfortable, beach shoes will not work here.

For families with children, you can recommend a boat trip on a pirate ship.

For an hour and a half, passengers are entertained with contests, songs and dances, and a search for "treasures" on the ship is arranged for the little ones. In fact, you will not see anything special during this walk, but it will be interesting for children.

Evenings can be spent in the spa. There are not many of them, but they all provide a wide range of services.

And the most important thing to do in Sveti Vlas is to spend more time by the sea and breathe the healing air saturated with iodine ions. Your body will thank you!

Shopping and shops

There are few shopping opportunities in Sveti Vlas. This is a small town, and there are no large malls or shopping centers... On the street parallel to the yacht club, there are a dozen shops with luxury clothing brands. You can walk to see, but prices are average European.

In the Old Town you can find many small shops and shops selling clothes as well.

The best supermarket is called Mercury.

Here you can buy absolutely everything - from food, alcohol and ending with cosmetics. Cosmetics prices are slightly lower than in tourist shops.

Another supermarket is located next to the amphitheater. It is called "Arena" and also has a good selection of food, wines and cosmetics.

Bars. Where to go

Bars in Sveti Vlas, as you already understood, are just one or two. But still they are, and a couple became my favorites. First of all, I would advise you to look into La Cubanita.

Latin incendiary music is played here in the evenings; the owner often invites local performers. In season, after dark, there are many people here, and it will be problematic to find a free table. But why a table in a bar if you are not going to have a full dinner? The main fun takes place at the bar. Plus, there are very good cocktails here.

The next establishment is Noti-operates during the day as a restaurant, and in the evening turns into a bar. The DJ puts on the tracks, the young people have fun, but there is no stormy fun and dancing on the tables.

The next two bars are located next to Marina Dinevi. It " Rococo" and " Magneto "... The establishment is quite European level, where both live music and the latest world novelties are played.

Perhaps, the review of the bars can be completed here. Each of them is worthy of attention if you like this kind of rest. As a bonus, most establishments have outdoor terraces, which are very pleasant to be in on warm evenings.

Clubs and nightlife

There is only one nightclub in Sveti Vlas, located next to the yacht pier - Planet Yacht. It is divided into zones: there is an open part, where a light breeze blows pleasantly, there is a lounge area where you can comfortably sit down with a hookah on soft sofas, admiring the lights of Sunny Beach in the distance. There is also a separate place for the dance floor. In general, everything here is saturated with an atmosphere of relaxed luxury. DJs play good music - it won't be boring.

Cocktails here are expensive by Bulgarian standards, but the club was built with a focus on wealthy visitors.

There is no dress code, but when going to a party, exclude shorts and beachwear - otherwise you will feel like a black sheep.

Extreme sports

All water sports opportunities are concentrated on the beach next to Marina Dinevi. There is a windsurfing and yachting school here. Guests are offered to paraglide (from 30 USD) or ride a jet ski (about 15 USD). All the entertainment is at a high level: experienced instructors, good equipment and excellent conditions.

Souvenirs. What to bring as a gift

From St. Vlas, you can give the entire standard list of souvenirs that are sold in Bulgaria. I would also add on my own that a bottle of wine or rakia, which is produced in small wineries in the vicinity of the city, would be a good gift.

The wines here are of really amazing quality and can easily compete with many European producers.

How to get around the city

Saint Vlas is a very small town, and the most convenient way to get around it is on foot. However, to explore the area, you cannot do without a taxi, regular bus or even a rented car. I will tell you more about these types of transport below.

Taxi. What features exist

Taxi is the most comfortable and expensive way to travel. It is better not to ask to call you a car in hotels at the reception, but to stock up on business cards of local taxi drivers or look in advance on the Internet for phone numbers of local companies.

Taxi fares from city to city or from one resort to another are mostly fixed. They are indicated in the price list, which is in the cabin of the car or sometimes lies under the windshield (for example: a trip to Golden Sands will cost about 65 USD, 40 USD). If you need to get to a certain meta, a supermarket or a club, the driver will turn on the meter.

It would seem that the counter is the most honest way of calculating the cost. But sometimes "miracles" happen, and different taxi companies will charge you a different amount for the same distance. This happens because the cost of one kilometer in each taxi is different. They sometimes differ significantly. Therefore, you should first find out the price per kilometer and only then get into the car.

Otherwise, a taxi is a very convenient solution. If only because you don't have to pay for parking or look for where to leave your car. Also, if you do not have a driver's license, then this is your option.

Buses

To get around Sveti Vlas, buses are not needed, since the entire city can be walked around. The only thing you have to climb from the coast to the center.

If you want to visit the neighboring resort of Elenite or Sunny Beach, then buses No. 5 and No. 8 will be very useful:

  • Bus number 5 runs along the main highway of the city, making several stops. Its route: Saint Vlas - Sunny Beach -.
  • Bus number 8 has a longer route: Elenite - Sveti Vlas - Sunny Beach -. It is very convenient that for a nominal fee (about 1 USD) you can independently drive to Nessebar and spend the whole day there, and then return back on the same route.

Transport rent

The most convenient option for traveling around Sveti Vlas. Convenient because a lot of interesting things are located in the mountains, and just for the sake of beautiful landscapes, you should definitely take a ride there. You can also travel to nearby beaches. This is especially true for families with children, since in such cases you have to take a lot of things.

In Sveti Vlas you can find several car rental companies. Compare prices, see what models they can offer you, read all the terms carefully and hit the road! All these manipulations can be done via the Internet. For example, using.

It is better to rent a car from large firms than from small local ones. The fact is that well-known distributors use European insurance, while the conditions of a local company may differ, and not in your favor.

To rent a car, you will need:

  • driver's license;
  • international passport;
  • driving experience from 3 years (if it is less, then you will have to pay an additional amount).

Most companies provide you with a car with:

  • unlimited mileage;
  • insurance;
  • vAT included in the price;
  • vignette.

Paid separately:

  • CASCO;
  • the ability to drive a car to a second driver;
  • baby chair.

As for moving around the city by car, there are some important rulesto be observed:

  • the dipped beam should be on at any time of the day;
  • a child under 12 years old and up to 1.5m tall cannot ride in the front passenger seat;
  • the driver is prohibited from talking on the phone while holding it. Only wireless communication is allowed.

Speed \u200b\u200bLimit:

  • in the village - 50 km / h;
  • outside the settlement - 90 km / h;
  • on the motorway - 140 km / h.

It is important that the driver must pay the fine on the spot. That is, walk to the nearest bank and make a transfer. Also, the inspector can take the rights from the violator and send them later by mail.

Vacation with children

Saint Vlas is a great place for families with children.

First, the sea is quite shallow near the coast, and the entrance to it is shallow. Children are comfortable swimming here, as there are practically no waves.

Secondly, children will not be bored. There are plenty of water activities on the beaches: banana rides, cheesecakes and the like.

Thirdly, restaurants often have a children's menu. And if you cook yourself, then the shops sell quality products, be it milk or meat. The abundance of fresh vegetables and fruits is worth talking about.

As I noticed during my vacation, families with children often come to Saint Vlas for several summer months. They rent apartments by the sea and enjoy life, stock up on health and vitamins for the year ahead.

Friends, you often ask, so we remind you! 😉

Flights - you can compare prices from all airlines and agencies!

Hotels - don't forget to check prices from booking sites! Don't overpay. It !

Rent a Car - also aggregation of prices from all distributors, all in one place, let's go!

Today tourists are paying more and more attention not to the assessments of experts, but to the reviews of those who have already visited this or that country. Just like the reviews about, allowing you to choose the best hotel for your vacation, reviews about your holidays in Bulgaria provide an opportunity to optimally plan your route, visit. If you use reviews as a guide to action, yours will be bright and memorable!

Bulgaria is a good country ...

Bulgaria remained for me one of the few European countries where I had not yet been able to visit. In the postwar years, Bulgaria was the most accessible and popular “abroad” for Soviet citizens. Nevertheless, neither I nor my parents were in Bulgaria at that time. Twice, in 1963 and 1973. Bulgarian leaders turned to the Soviet authorities with a request to include Bulgaria in the USSR. But both times the consent was not obtained. M ...

Horror, but it can please youngsters who want to get drunk.

There are a lot of seemingly good clubs on the coast of golden sands, but the fact is that they are all packed with minors, and just children, most often drunk, since the management of the clubs even encourages and does everything possible to attract such an audience. Now I do not name specific clubs, they are just like that. No checks are ever carried out, everything is 100 percent bought. Great vacation in Bulgaria

My husband and I visited the resort in 2017 and now we dream of getting there again. If you describe it in three words, then it will be silence, tranquility and comfort. There are no loud discos and noisy "activities" there, as well as special sights, life is measured. Saint Vlas, Bulgaria. From a small fishing village to a luxurious seaside resort

A little history of St. Vlas

Saint Vlas, Bulgaria... Bird's-eye view. Photo: Marina Sunrise Complex

It is not surprising that the first settlement appeared here in the 2nd century BC. Thracians, Greeks, and later Turks, chose the southern slopes Balkan mountains for their homes. Pirates, at one time, also did not disdain this place, leaving behind only death, destruction and ashes. "Thanks" to just such pirate raids, as well as the frequent change of power and religion in the region, the remains of only one of the 5 monasteries that existed in the region have survived to this day. Saint Vlas... This is a monastery " Saint Andrew the First-Called". Nowadays, in this place there is a chapel, and not far from it is a spring, the water from which is revered by the locals as healing, especially for eye diseases.

At the same time, it is known that the Greeks called this place Larissa, Turks - Manastir... The city acquired its real name in the 14th century, in honor of the patron saint of shepherds and merchants. Since 1963, Saint Vlas becomes known as a seaside resort, mainly among the inhabitants of Bulgaria and mainly due to its microclimate.

Modern history Saint Vlas can be divided into two fundamentally different periods: before 2000 and after. Until 2000, family houses and hotels with 2-3 floors dominated here, in a pronounced Eastern European style. So far, construction is allowed only on plots for construction, i.e. the northern part of the town, at the foot of Balkan mountains... After 2000, the buildings are becoming more and more aggressive and are already moving to agricultural land and pastures, i.e. the southern part Saint Vlas, across the main road, closer to the sea.

The construction is not united in a specific style and today we can observe the first, second and even third line from the sea, built up with hotels and tourist complexes.

Local residents say that over the past 10 years, the number of buildings on the territory of St. Vlas has increased 2.5 times.

Of course, someone suffered from such a quick development, but someone naturally won. But the fact remains - today, Saint Vlas,with its well-developed infrastructure, it is an ideal place not only for summer vacation but also a permanent residence.

Saint Vlas, Bulgaria. Great place for families with children in Bulgaria

Saint Vlas It is popular mainly with couples with children, those who simply value peace and quiet, would like to improve their health, as well as among wealthy Bulgarians. Therefore, the resort remains quiet and calm, even in the midst of the summer season.

So, do not worry - at night you will not be woken up by loud music and the screams of drunken youth, such as in the center Sunny Beach... Be that as it may, remember! If you still get tired of enjoying this peaceful environment, Sunny Beach and are only a few minutes away from Saint Vlas.

Accommodation in Sveti Vlas: hotels, apartments, family hotels, private sector

Saint Vlas, Bulgaria... A photo:

Despite its well-developed infrastructure and close proximity to popular Sunny Beach and, Saint Vlas still not very well known internationally. Yes, Bulgarians have been visiting this resort since the beginning of 1963, but Russians and Poles, for example, have discovered Saint Vlas relatively recently.

The southern part of the town is the most developed and attractive for international tourists, because it is located near the beach and the yacht port. Northern, Bulgarian part Saint Vlas, offers its guests something more: tradition, history and incomparable panoramic views of the sea and mountains.

Hotels, boarding houses and tourist complexes in Saint Vlas - countless. Once, I decided to count them, but I gave up this useless business. Hotels in Sveti Vlas are mostly 2-3 stars, although there are 4 and even 5 star hotels. I would not pay attention to 5 stars, because by European standards these are still four or even 3-star hotels.

The main rule when choosing a hotel in Bulgaria: if the hotel has a 4-star category, then it is most likely three stars, if 3, then two ... and so on.

Private apartments do not have star categories, but they are one of the best and most inexpensive options when choosing a place to stay in Saint Vlas... Moreover, there are plenty of newly built complexes here. And when there is competition, the prices are quite low, and the standards are high.

There is no paradise on Earth, but there are paradises. The resort of Saint Vlas (Sveti Vlas) in Bulgaria, undoubtedly, can claim the title of "paradise". Silence, peace, cleanliness in the streets and amazingly clean air, the forest-covered Stara Planina mountain, flocks of swans, a sea of \u200b\u200broses and a real sea. All the minimal paradise set is present.

The town of Saint Vlas is not young, the first settlement existed in this place already in the 2nd century AD, but now there is no abundance of attractions here.

Initially, the city was called Larissa, later the Turks called it "Kuchuk Monastery" (Land of Monasteries), as there were many monasteries around. Another reason to consider Sveti Vlas a paradise!

The official status of the city of Saint Vlas was received in 2006 after the construction of the ultra-modern yacht port Marina Dinevi. The promenade of the yacht port with its restaurants and boutiques can compete in its fashionableness with many famous resorts in Europe.

The center of the whole life of the town - extraordinary beauty and the well-groomed cathedral of the patron saint of the city of St. Blasius, built just a couple of years ago. The crystal ringing of the cathedral bells can be heard everywhere twice a day.

On the central square near the city office on holidays, concerts of folklore music are held, accompanied by a massive folk round dance of khoro.

The ancient temple of St. Athanasius is located on the mountain. There is also a small chapel on the mountain - the paraklis of St. Andrew the First-Called and next to him the Holy Spring. Another Holy Spring is located in the forest, on the very outskirts of the city towards Elenite.

In the old part of the city there are neat little houses entwined with grapes and roses, on the thresholds of which are sitting pretty Bulgarian grandmothers, similar to Vanga.

The new part of Sveti Vlas - modern complexes and hotels, most of which function only in summer.

Officially, the population of St. Vlas is about 3800 inhabitants. In the summer, the number increases by a couple thousand due to visiting tourists, many of whom live in their own apartments in newly built complexes.

Residents of Sveti Vlas are calm, polite and calm, no one is in a hurry. Where to rush if you are already in paradise? Tourists are still fussing at first while settling in a new place, and then they also become infected with this calmness.

Swans hissing on especially active and noisy ones, which live here all year round. They know where to live, royal birds!

Unlike humans, a swan flock welcomes guests during the winter season. The number of swans in Sveti Vlas in winter increases several dozen times due to wintering "tourists".

The combination of mountain and sea creates a unique climatic zone in the Sveti Vlas region, which adds to the paradise charm of the town. It is believed that the air in this place is especially saturated with iodine ions and is ideal for people with respiratory diseases.

There are no huge anthill buildings like in the noisy resort of Sunny Beach, located just 2 kilometers away. Residential complexes no more than 5 floors high, cozy family hotels, tiny restaurants - there is nothing to do for fans of noisy companies in Sveti Vlas.

Sunny Beach from Sveti Vlas looks like some kind of super-modern alien world, into which you are not at all drawn. Sveti Vlas from Sunny Beach looks much more heavenly ...
