I have already been to Spain twice. The last time the trip was to Ibiza and I must admit, the rest was a success. At first, I could not get used to the fact that there are a lot of people in the city, that is, tourists, and then I did not even stop noticing them :) it is always sunny and full of bright colors, I hope you enjoy the trip.

Ibiza Airport - Aeropurto de Ibiza (Ibiza)

In general, it is correct to say "Ivica", as the name of the island on which the city is located, but everyone is more accustomed to speaking the way the name of the city is spelled. The city is only 6 kilometers from the airport. I would like to go again, perhaps next time will be soon, and my husband and I will take a break from the winter Moscow weather. If you wish, book tickets in advance, as experience has shown, they often do not exist exactly at the time you need, you can buy them on different sites, for example, here.

Everything is standard at the airport, from cafes to ATMs. By the way, I recommend renting immediately at the airport, as cash will be useful to you to pay for transport. You will also find exchange offices near the ATMs, if you need them. There is one medical center and a pharmacy, so you can always ask for help if necessary.

There is a paid shower, a “mother and child” room, which any mother can use to feed and change her baby. There are also several cafes where, in principle, you can have a quick snack so as not to be hungry. As for entertainment, there is free internet. If it doesn't interest you, then you can sit in the departure hall, where there is a beautiful panoramic view, to watch the planes take off.

Getting from the airport to the city is easy, but it all depends on what time of day you arrive. In any case, you have a choice, from the airport you can get:

  • by bus;
  • taxi;
  • transfer;
  • by car.

By bus

The bus stops outside the airport exit where passengers can board and travel to the city. Unfortunately, only three buses run from the airport on different routes, and it often happens that there is not enough space to get there. The road to the bus station takes 15 minutes. You need to take one of the buses, depending on where you need to get:

  • bus number 10 - from the airport goes to the bus station "Ibiza Bus Station", where you can get off. Then the bus goes to the seaport "Botafoch", this will already be ending station... The bus leaves every 15 minutes during the summer season, while in other seasons it runs every 30 minutes. The departure time of the first bus is at 07:00, and the last at 23:00;

  • bus number 9 - this route works only from the beginning of June to September 12, it simply does not go further, so keep in mind. The bus departs from the airport on the route "San Antonio - San Jos". The bus leaves every hour, starting at 07:00 and ending at 00:00;

  • bus number 24 - this route is relevant from June 1 to the last day of September, then it, like number 9, is irrelevant. The bus runs on the route "Airport - Cala Nova - Es Canar - Santa Eulria". The bus starts operating from 07:00 to 23:00 every hour.

Fare

  • Bus number 10 will cost 3.50 euros;
  • Travel by bus # 0 will cost you 4 euros;
  • Avot trip by bus number 24 4.50 euros.

Where to buy tickets

There is no need to buy tickets anywhere, you just need to pay the driver a fare to enter the bus.

By taxi

The good thing about a taxi is that it works around the clock and getting to the city in the middle of the night will not be a problem. Taxis are located right outside the airport, you will notice them immediately when you leave the terminal. Taxis are white, you can take absolutely any, since the fare is still fixed, and you will not pay more than necessary. All taxis are equipped with a meter, so feel free to sit down to get to the city quickly. Travel time will take no more than 10 minutes.

Fare

  • Travel on weekdays from 07:00 to 21:00 will cost 13 euros;
  • Travel on holidays and weekends, as well as from 21:00 to 07:00 increases by 15 percent, so keep this in mind if you sit down at night.

By transfer

If you wish and the availability of funds, you can always order a transfer, as this convenient wayto get to the city. All you need to do is book your transfer in advance, choosing the company that suits you best. Then you need to send a request for a transfer, to everywhere with a standard set of questions:

  • completely your name;
  • city \u200b\u200band country;
  • flight number;
  • arrival date;
  • how many are you;
  • car model;
  • address where to take;
  • phone number.

After the application is approved, you can be sure that the transfer will be waiting for you upon arrival. As soon as you go through all the formalities and receive your luggage, leave the airport, you will see that the driver is already waiting for you with a sign in his hands. There will be a sign with your name so that you can recognize the driver and understand that he has come to pick you up.

Transfer cost

The transfer will cost about 70 euros.

By car

And the last, I would say, the most convenient option is to rent a car. Most tourists take it in order to make it convenient to move around the city and country. Here, of course, everything depends on your financial capabilities and desires, but nevertheless, it is always convenient. You can rent a car in advance, which is good so that you can choose the car you want. We can rent a car though, but I repeat, do it in advance, for your convenience.

But if you rent on arrival, then there is a risk that you will have to choose a car from the leftovers and it is not a fact that you will like it. Also, if you rented in advance, do not forget a copy of the contract, you will be asked for it when you come to the company's counter. If not, then be sure to take the license and, by the way, they must be of an international standard.

In this article, you will find detailed instructions on how to get from the airport of Ibiza to the main resorts and cities of the island: Playa d'en Bossa, San Antonio, Portinach, San Miguel, Talamanca and Santa Eularia das Rio. The information is relevant for independent tourists who arrived in Ibiza not on a package tour.

Before traveling to Ibiza, I advise you to follow these guidelines:

  • after booking a hotel or apartment, look at their location on Google Maps and get directions to them;
  • write out the exact address your hotel and, if possible, upload a map of Ibiza to your smartphone. It is imperative to write down your address accurately to avoid confusion: in Ibiza, in addition to classical Spanish, Catalan is spoken. Street names and even city names in Catalan look completely different. For instance, Ibiza is spelled Ibiza in Spanish and Eivissa in Catalan;
  • prepare small Euro bills and coins if you plan to get to your resort on public transport.

Detailed and up-to-date information on bus routes and their timetables can be found on the official website of Ibiza bus carriers Ibizabus.com. Buses in the season are heavily clogged with English youth, so those who value comfort may not like such a transfer.

Car rental at Ibiza airport

The airport has offices of popular international rental offices: Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Sixt, InterRent. During the season, a lot of people from arriving flights gather at the offices of distributors, because taking a car at the airport is much more convenient than looking for a rental office later in the resort. Ibiza is not a big island, but very interesting and rich in natural attractions. To inspect it completely on the car, you should lay at least 2-3 days.

We always try to book a car in advance, because when booking on the spot you will have to choose from the remaining options - not always the most convenient and most profitable. So, in Tenerife, we did not book a car in advance, and were forced to travel with a company in an Opel Mocca car, which seemed to us not particularly convenient. This is why I recommend booking your rental car in advance via the internet on a website that compares prices from all rental companies. If you order a car in advance, you can pick it up right at the Ibiza airport.

Taxi from Ibiza airport

The taxi rank at the airport is located next to the terminal exit. Taxis in resorts often wait for passengers near major hotels or bus stations.

In a taxi on the island of Ibiza, the following system of surcharges and commissions applies:

  • Taxi rides on weekends and after 21:00 have a higher rate
  • When ordering a taxi in advance by phone, a surcharge of 1.3 Euro is taken
  • Collection when traveling from the airport - 1.8 Euro
  • Minimum tariff - 3.65 Euro
  • Suitcases and animals are transported free of charge
  • Average fare on weekdays from 07:00 to 21:00: 1.09 Euro / km; downtime fee: 19.58 Euro per hour (if there is a downtime in a traffic jam, the meter will also charge a fee)
  • Average fare on weekdays from 21:00 to 07:00: 1.33 Euro / km; downtime fee: 23.98 Euro per hour (if there is a downtime in a traffic jam, the meter will also charge a fee)

It is not so easy to take a taxi at the airport during the season: crowds of arriving tourists crowd in queues for free cars. Therefore, in order to avoid the painful waiting for a taxi in the heat, I recommend that you pre-order a taxi transfer from the airport via the Internet and do not worry about anything. The car at the agreed time will be delivered directly to the airport terminal, the taxi driver will meet you with a sign with your name and help you carry your suitcases - isn't it convenient?
