About Kobuleti you need either good or nothing this resort has too many fans. Therefore, it is better to google the reviews of those who had a rest and were satisfied. My heart is given to Batumi.

What to see near Kobuleti?

▫ Tea plantations and orange orchards most of the tea plantations in Georgia are located near Kobuleti.

The problem is that tea from these plantations is more expensive than imported tea, so now many plantations are cut down and planted with citrus trees, which are easier to maintain.

I've heard similar stories about how hazelnuts are planted instead of tea, which is even more profitable to sell than oranges.

Impressions and conclusions in the post about

Batumi is an amazing city that welcomes all visitors not only with warm weather. There are many interesting places, various sights, and it is recommended to set aside several days to see them. If a voyager is just passing through the city, it is important for him to find out where to go and what to see in Batumi in the first place. Experienced tourists have compiled their own rating of attractions, which they invite everyone to familiarize themselves with. If a guest stays in an atmospheric city for at least a week, he will be able to visit many places, but everyone else can choose attractions to explore on the city map at their own discretion.

The most popular sights of Batumi on the map

A well-groomed park is located in close proximity to the embankment (it is quite easy to find it on the map). This place will be highly appreciated by visitors with small children, as there are small paths for leisurely walks, a small boat station, as well as a mini-zoo, and a zoo is also nearby. You can also go here in the evening with children, since the place is quiet, and in its very heart there is an unusual fountain, the stream of which beats as if from under the ground and is kept at a level of three meters.

Alphabetic Tower

This is a tall tower, it is not for nothing that it belongs to the sights of Batumi, which are worth seeing. However, guests are advised to come here in the late afternoon to watch the sunset. You will have to wait in line to get to the elevators, you need to pay 8 lari per person for the lift.

Astronomical Clock

This is an astronomical clock that shows the exact time and is located on the Europa square. Those who want to see also the European Square marked on the map can go here. The building on which the clock is located is atmospheric. It conveys the European spirit and, as it were, transports vacationers to Europe, and at the same time makes it possible to synchronize their watches.

This is a real landmark of Batumi, which was built at the beginning of the 20th century with the funding of the Zubalashvili brothers and then mapped. The building was erected by Catholics on the site of a drained lake. Today it is an Orthodox cathedral, which is made in the Gothic style. This is an extraordinary architectural building that is worth the close attention of travelers. It is this place that those who trust will not miss when choosing what to see in Batumi and the surrounding area - the sights of the city include other Orthodox churches.

Kobuleti Beach

This is a beautiful beach, which is especially marked on the map of travelers who go to Batumi for sunbathing and swimming in the sea. Absolutely clear water touches the same neat and well-groomed beach, along the entire perimeter of which there are trestle beds, sun beds, umbrellas. One such trestle bed can be rented for a nominal fee - only 3-4 GEL. Numerous water attractions are offered here, but they do not interfere with other vacationers to swim.

Chacha Tower

Chacha tower is within walking distance from the port. As local residents say, earlier here at a certain time it was possible to drink a delicious drink for free - chacha. In terms of architecture, this place is in many ways reminiscent of the buildings that stand in Izmir.

Museum of Fine Arts of Adjara (Batumi)

An inquisitive guest will definitely include the Museum of Fine Arts in the educational program. You can see and appreciate the paintings for only 2 GEL (for each person), for a child you need to pay only 0.50 GEL. The building is two-story, you can walk around it in half an hour. Both permanent and temporary exhibitions operate on the territory. It is worth going to the museum at least to appreciate the work of Pirosmani and Gudiashvili.

Attractions in the vicinity of Batumi

Bridge and waterfall Makhuntseti

Guests who go to Georgia want not only to look at the ancient buildings, but also to feel the atmosphere of these places, somewhat wild and beyond their control. That is why the voyagers choose unique natural attractions on the map of Batumi, which were only partially ennobled by people. To enjoy the natural beauty, you need to take a map with you and go outside the city - to Adjara, where the Makhuntseti Waterfall is located. You can get here by car or spend 2 GEL per person to get there by minibus - bus 77 minibus.

This point of the tourist route is also marked on the map of Batumi with sights in Russian. You can walk around the entire fortress, which is still being excavated and studied, in half an hour. That is why this attraction is often included in other tourist routes. Already now, one can appreciate the power of this place by the fragments of the walls that are revealed to the world. Despite the fact that the place is ancient, there are no prohibitive signs and strict supervision. This gives travelers the opportunity to even climb the walls of the fortress, but this solution is extreme, since there are no railings. The fortress seems to be permeated with the spirit of History. The cost of visiting is low - 3 GEL per person.

Amusement park "Tsitsinatela" (Kobuleti)

This is a great experience park. They go here when you want to spend an active time and explore many sights of Batumi along the way. There is a Ferris wheel here, which is worth going in the evening to get the opportunity to inspect the place when the sun illuminates the city with the last rays of the sun. The park starts working at 18 o'clock. Prices are quite reasonable: an adult will cost 5-10 GEL for a ride on a carousel, and 1-3 GEL for a child. Slot machines are even cheaper - 0.50 GEL per game.

Attractions in Batumi

Map of Batumi attractions in Russian at the end of the post, marked all the points there.

1. Sculpture "Ali and Nino"

One of the symbols of Batumi is a moving 8-meter statue that tells about the love of Ali and Nino. The author of this sculpture is Tamara Kvesitadze, and the opening took place in 2011.

The story of lovers is described in a book of the same name, the authorship of which has not been precisely established. The plot is briefly as follows: a descendant of the noble Azerbaijani surname Ali falls in love with the daughter of a Georgian prince - Nino. But their faith becomes an obstacle, because the guy was a Muslim, and the girl was Christian, and their parents forbade them to be together. This whole story is reflected in the composition: the sculptures of a man and a woman alternately converge, then diverge, merging at one moment. we stood and watched this action for several minutes as if spellbound. It looks especially beautiful in the evening when everything is highlighted.

2. Seaside Park Batumi

The famous landmark of Batumi - was founded in 1881 by famous foreign gardeners of that time. Now the boulevard is usually divided into old and new parts: the old one is approximately from the seaport to the singing fountain, and everything to the south is already a new boulevard. There are cafes, restaurants, children's and sports grounds on the territory, and you can get to the beach at any time. It is very pleasant to walk along the palm trees in the evening and breathe in the sea breeze. Great place!

3. Cable car "Argo"

One of the most popular entertainments in Batumi is taking a cable car ride to the neighboring mountain with an observation deck from where you can see the whole city. The cable car is considered the longest in Europe (2600 meters, and the height is as much as 250 meters). From the booth you can look at Batumi from above - a cool sight! I advise you to come here in the evening, when the sun is going down, then the photos will turn out well. In the evening, performances with Georgian dances and songs are also arranged upstairs, and the restaurant is open throughout the day.

The Summer Theater is located right on the Batumi boulevard - it is an elegant building, but for some reason without windows. It reopened after reconstruction in 2013, the old one burned down. This building was also designed by a young Georgian architect in the shape of a dolphin, although we did not immediately understand what he was ;-) Nevertheless, it is a beautiful and unusual building, where you can really get married both day and night. True, the documents will be valid only in Georgia. The cost of the ceremony is 150 GEL.

20. Armenian Church

The church was built in 1885 by the project of the Austrian architect Manfred, and the money was collected by the entire Armenian community, which then lived in Batumi. During Soviet times, as usual, the church was used as a warehouse, and since 1959 it was given over to an observatory.

The church is located at an altitude of 250 m above sea level, was built in the second half of the 19th century, recently restored.

How to get there: better by taxi, but there seem to be yellow buses from the Batumi Plaza shopping center that go to Salibauri (2 GEL).

The history of Batumi has more than one hundred years. They are introduced to her in detail in museums:

Romantic monuments and places

Romantic holidays in Batumi are already becoming a tradition. It is not for nothing that it is called the city of love. On Batumi Boulevard you can find large metal statues with hearts that have become the city's business card.

The embankment is decorated with an unusual sculpture - the Statue of Love. This is the most romantic piece of art in the city. Its name is “Ali and Nino”. Symbolizing the desire to be together, the two statues are constantly moving, now approaching, and, as it were, merging with each other, then diverging again.

Many declarations of love and marriage proposals are kept:

Another romantic attraction of the resort is the Ferris wheel. A kiss at its highest point creates a special mood, especially in the evening, when everything around is flickering with lights.

Batumi squares

If you like to sit in a cafe and have a leisurely drink of local lemonade or a cup of coffee, go to the square Piazza, reminiscent of the cozy squares of Italy. Here you can unexpectedly become a spectator and even a participant in a performance or arrange a photo session.

Small beautiful Europe square with the statue of Medea symbolizes the link between East and West. It is located in the city center and is one of the objects that visitors must visit.

Another favorite tourist spot is Theater Square and the Neptune Fountain. It is always crowded around him. There is also the Batumi Drama Theater with a majestic, traditional Soviet-era architecture.

Parks are a favorite vacation spot

Parks are another distinctive feature of Batumi. There are several of them here, and they are very different. is a territory with a large number of rare plants, as if consisting of separate corners. There is entertainment, walking alleys and a place where you can retire and relax.

Miracles Park destroys the traditional concept of shady city gardens. Complex structures rise here instead of trees. In general, it is the focus of many attractions in Batumi. Here it is:

You can relax in the park on huge boulders that replace ordinary benches. Here you can also go skateboarding and rollerblading, or rent bicycles.

The Seaside Park, divided into five large alleys, stretches along the northwestern part of the city. Between them are manicured lawns and numerous cafes. There are singing fountains, attractions, playgrounds, tennis courts and clubs. The entrance to the park is decorated with the famous Batumi colonnade. This is where tourists go first.

The Batumi Botanical Garden occupying an area comparable to the reserve - 113 hectares. The garden is more than 100 years old and has a unique collection of plants - more than 5000 species. There is a great beach behind the park, so walking can be combined with swimming.

Highlights of the city

Walking through Seaside Park near the Sheraton hotel you can come across a tiny lake with beautiful birds - swans, peacocks and pelicans. The "bird" area is fenced, but this does not prevent vacationers, especially small ones, from hand-feeding and even stroking them.

At the beginning of the Sheikh Nakhayan Mubarak Alley, there is the Rotation sculpture depicting a woman reunited with a man. Behind it is the well-known transparent House of Justice. The alley itself was created in honor of the Arab sheikh who donated tens of thousands of palm trees to Batumi.

One of the most significant sights of Batumi - Astronomical clock... They show not only the time, but also the location of the constellations, planets, sun and moon. In general, there is a special love for clocks in Batumi. They adorn the Chachi Fountain, the Sheraton Hotel, there is a musical clock in Piazza and a sundial clock in the May 6 Park.

Vicinity of Batumi

Excursions to neighboring villages and remarkable places are organized for curious tourists. In the mountain village of Khulo interesting:

You can get here by bus or minibus, distance - 100 km from Batumi, on the way - 2 hours.

In the vicinity of the resort, it is worth visiting the national park Mtirala... It will delight lovers of untouched nature with the Colchis forest, many "Red Book" plants, boxwood groves and old chestnut houses.

A very interesting place - the cave city Vardzia(XII century). Carved into the rock, it stretches for a kilometer along the Kura. There are 600 rooms on 8 floors. Once there were living rooms, libraries, chapels, a first-aid post and even a temple.

A strong earthquake destroyed most of the city; only fragments of it have survived to this day. You can get to Vardzia from Tbilisi and Batumi, however, buses rarely go there.

Georgia is still hospitable, cozy and very beautiful. Rest in Batumi will delight lovers of beach recreation, youth entertainment, natural beauty and connoisseurs of historical monuments.

As I said, this is not my first time in Batumi. However, this resort city cannot be called a one-off. Every time you come here, you find something new for yourself. This, of course, primarily applies to buildings, architecture and landmarks. In today's article, I will not describe in detail all the places that can be seen in Batumi, I will tell only about those that I consider the most interesting in my personal opinion.

Sights of the city of Batumi.

This time, upon arrival in Batumi, the weather was not at all lucky. As in my first visit to this resort, our journey began with a brand new station building, where we exchanged train tickets. From here it was 2-3 km to the center, judging by the map, which we wanted to walk, although if you wish, you can use public transport for 40 tetri. To our great chagrin, right in the middle of the way we were caught by the rain, and as luck would have it, there is nowhere to hide ... Suddenly a passenger car slows down nearby and a young Georgian asks if we are going to the center. I immediately tell him that we have no money. He laughs and says that he will give you a ride for free, but stopped because he didn't want the girls to get wet to the skin. Nice start.

The search for a hostel in Batumi was short-lived. By the way, the window offers an excellent view of one of the sights of Batumi - the cable car. It looks like the rain has charged for a long time, so the inspection of the resort is postponed until tomorrow. Well, we will move on to the main topic of today's article. And since we have already hinted at the cable car, then we can start with it.

Batumi cable car "Argo".

The length of the cable car is about 2.5 km, and the height is 260 m. From one end to the other you can easily get there in 10 minutes, admiring the city and the coast along the way. The cabins are covered and there are not many of them, literally 9, with a capacity for 6 people. Therefore, it is not surprising to see a decent line here during the season. And at the end, as the main prize - a panorama of the Batumi resort and the sea.

Where is: the ticket office of the cable car is located next to the seaport, almost at the very beginning of the New Boulevard (embankment).
Final destination: observation deck of Mount Peria.
Ticket price: 10 GEL (round trip).
Working hours: 11:00 - 00:00 (daily).

New Boulevard or Batumi embankment.

I get the impression that the New Boulevard of Batumi is getting longer and longer every year, where along the way you can endlessly look at all the new art sculptures, fountains, entertainment and just admire the sea.

After my first visit to Batumi, my idea of resorts sharply outweighed in the direction of positive emotions.

Now, personally, I drew more attention to new sculptures and various places for recreation. The sea was also no exception.

Length: about 7 km.
What to see: art sculptors, dancing fountains on Lake Ardagani, moving statue of love “Ali and Nino”, water park, architecture, cycling, sports grounds, parks, cafes, attractions, alphabet tower, Batumi lighthouse, Ferris wheel, beach, sea and others entertainment like this ...

Park on May 6.

This interesting park is located around Lake Nurigel and, despite its modest size, can delight visitors with a lot of entertainment such as rides, boating, a zoo, an aquarium and even a dolphinarium. I think even adults will not be bored here. He even has his own website: parkbatumi.ge

Where is: along Rustaveli Avenue next to Batumi State University.
Ticket prices:

  • boating on the lake (30 min) - 2 GEL;
  • zoo - 3 GEL;
  • dolphinarium - dolphin show (15 GEL), swimming with dolphins (from 100 GEL);
  • aquarium - 2 GEL.

Europe Square and the statue of Medea.

This Batumi square is not too large in size, but it also deserves attention. And most likely, it gained its popularity more because of the statue of Medea with the golden fleece, which was erected on Europe Square relatively recently (2007), as a symbol of the connection between Georgia and Europe. Concerts are often held here, the most memorable of which was the concert of Enrique Iglesias (2011), which attracted 50,000 spectators.

How to get there: turn off Rustaveli Avenue to the intersection of Konstantin Gamsakhurdia and Mamed Abashidze Avenues.

All the most interesting part of the resort city of Batumi is located on the coast. If you are interested in something more natural or ancient, then you should take a trip to the sights of the Batumi environs.

Sights of the environs of Batumi.

Fortress of Gonio.

If you want to see with your own eyes the oldest fortress in Georgia (I-II centuries), then you just need to visit the Gonio fortress, which once served as a citadel of the Roman and Byzantine Empires. In its present form, it has existed since the 15th century AD, and in Soviet times there were orange plantations on the excavation site.

On the territory you can see enough of the ruins, the old clay water supply and the remnants of Soviet vegetation.

How to get there: you need to take a minibus on Tbilisskaya Square in Batumi. She goes through the fortress of Gonio to Sarpi. The fare to the fortress is 0.8 lari. Travel time - 20 minutes.
Ticket price: 5 GEL
Working hours: 10: 00-18: 00, Mon - closed.

Monastery of the Holy Trinity on Mount Sameba.

The Holy Trinity Monastery is located on one of the high mountains called Sameba, from where a stunning view of Batumi and its surroundings opens. I think it's worse than from the observation deck of the Argo cable car. Before the monastery there was a Russian regimental wooden church of the Holy Trinity in this place.

How to get there: The bus to the monastery goes from the stop next to the Batumi Plaza hotel (an hour or two).
Price: free (valid)
Working hours: 9:00 – 18:00

Botanical Garden of Batumi.

A very large botanical garden (113 hectares) is located just 10 km from Batumi. Needless to say, how many interesting species of flora can be found there? There are over 5 thousand varieties and forms of living plants. In general, you just need to see it with your own eyes.

Next to the garden is the Cape Verde beach, it also makes sense to look there even in bad weather.

How to get there: Directly to the garden there is a minibus number 31, which can be caught near the Goodwill supermarket on Chavchavadze street. The fare is 1 GEL.

In addition, you can also go there by any passing minibus going in the direction of Ureki and Kobuleti. Tell the driver that before the botanical garden, he will drop off where necessary. In this way we got there for 0.5 GEL and walked 500 meters to the ticket office.
Ticket price: 8 GEL.
The cost of an electric car (runs around the garden): 5 GEL.
Working hours: 09:00 – 20:00.

Fortress of Petra.

The ruins of the once Byzantine fortress can be found on the territory of the small village of Tsikhisdziri on the road towards Kobuleti. The fortress is interesting not only for a bunch of ancient stones, but also for stunning views of the coast and the sea, therefore, despite its not too great popularity, I highly recommend visiting this place.

By the way, a little later from the fortress in Soviet times, they made lemonarius. Unfortunately, as well as from the fortress, there is also little left from the lemongrass from those times.

How to get there: You can get to the fortress from Batumi by any passing minibus from the bus station to Ureki, Poti or Kobuleti, the fare is 1.5 GEL, 25 minutes on the way.
Entrance cost: is free.
