The resort is well focused on tourists with children: the Protaras hotel fund has a large number of apartment hotels, which comfortably accommodate large families. The beaches of Protaras also deserve special attention along with the beaches of Ayia Napa. All of them are sandy, and the water is of the real azure color and is famous for its absolute transparency. The sea near the coast is quite shallow, which ensures safe swimming for children. The best beaches are in Fig Bay, named after the nearby fig grove.

We are on Cyprus for the fourth time and of course we saw much more than the best beaches in Cyprus, but today we will focus on them. Northern Cyprus until I touch it - this is a separate topic and there will be a story on it.
On Cyprus there is five main tourist locations by the sea and not everywhere beaches are suitable for swimming in my understanding, of course. The best beaches in Protaras
It is believed that the best beaches in Cyprus are situated in Protaras and Ayia Napa and here I will not open America to you. Sunrise Beach (Flamingo Beach)- a classic long beach for families. Almost ideal for families with children - light golden sand, gentle entrance to the water, entertainment on the beach, good infrastructure and many hotels on the first and second line of various sizes. The photo was taken in April before the start of the season - there are no sunbeds and people yet. 
Fig tree beach- fig tree beach, the most beautiful beach in Protaras... Correct semi-oval, fine light golden sand and incredibly emerald water. Upstairs you can sit in a "cafe with a view" and look at the sea for a long time. 
Konnos Beach- is between Ayia Napoi and Protaras, on the outskirts Cape Greco Natural Park
... For today this is our favorite beach in Cyprus... Removed from the main hangout, it is located in the bay, which is surrounded on all sides by rocks, emerald water and white sand. Sand is brought in every season, but in the case of this beach, everything is very organic and does not matter in principle. 
The best beaches in Ayia Napa

Limassol- the leader of my anti-rating of the beaches of Cyprus, even worse than Larnaca. Most likely in Limassol live well - comfortable modern houses, a cool new marina, a long embankment. But rest is not. Limassol is a city by the sea and not a place for a beach holiday. 
But around Limassol there are some interesting places. Exactly interesting, I would not recommend to rest on them for a long time, rather to drop in for a short time, relax, take pictures, swim, see sights of Limassol and move on.
Governor's Beach – Governor's Beach, unusual beach near Limassol... The beach consists of textured white stones, the stones include ml or its components, which is why the water near the coast is slightly milky. There is a descent into the water - you can swim. Curium Beach- this beach is in around Limassol, up on the rocks ruins of the Roman amphitheater Kourion, below is a long pebble beach mixed with dark sand. I did not notice any special infrastructure there, it is just a wild, but very beautiful place. It is worth looking at it from above, and then go down to the beach. 
Pissouri beach (Pissouri)- beautiful small pebble beach near Pissouri villages, this place is considered by many as an independent resort. But if you are mobile and in Cyprus for the first time, you should just stop by for a few hours to relax.
The best beaches in Paphos
Another well-known resort area, which is difficult to define in terms of beaches. On the one hand, there is a beautiful walking path along the sea, several kilometers long, a cozy promenade and good hotels. On the other hand, there are practically no sandy and truly beautiful beaches. There are some good sandy beaches near the hotels to the left of the promenade Paphos if you stand facing the sea. I remember Alexander The Great Beach Hotel with a frontal panoramic view of the sea 50 meters from the water and several hotels next to it.
We had an active program and rental car, so the location was unimportant - we chose an apartment Panklitos Tourist Apartments in Paphos and were satisfied. An excellent budget option, run by a very nice Greek Cypriot family, I recommend it.

A very calm, well-equipped and picturesque place, which is great for families with children. The descent into the water is smooth, far to depth, sandy-pebble shore. The taverns offer the freshest seafood.
Sometimes, when the water is cool in the Paphos region, it makes sense to come here, due to the currents, here the water can be warmer.
Aphrodite's Beach
It is impossible not to include this beach in the rating of the best in Cyprus, although its coastline is devoid of infrastructure and is strewn with large pebbles. It is the island's most romantic natural landmark. Here a beautiful one came out of the foam of the sea. It is located between Paphos and Limassol.
