Carriage of baggage and carry-on baggage is included in all Aeroflot air ticket fares, the only differences are in the number of pieces and weight of baggage. For example, in a cheap promotional fare you can only carry one piece of baggage, while in business class two or three pieces depending on the destination. Aeroflot recommends that customers study the information on ticket fares and baggage before purchasing air tickets.
Excess baggage is subject to additional charges. Aeroflot will carry it on the condition that after loading the passengers' belongings, there will be free place... If you plan to travel with oversized baggage weighing from 32 to 50 kg and over 203 cm in size, please notify the airline 36 hours before the flight departure. Any excess and oversized baggage must be agreed with the airline and obtain permission and confirmation of transportation from it. Otherwise, there will be no room for your luggage.
You can pay for excess baggage only at check-in counters at the airport.
Carry-on baggage requirements
In hand luggage, Aeroflot Airlines can carry items weighing up to 10 kg and measuring up to 115 cm in the sum of three changes in economy class, up to 15 kg in business class. In addition, the passenger can take additional personal belongings into the cabin of the aircraft; they are not weighed or registered at the check-in counter.
Only the passenger is responsible for the safety of things carried in the cabin.
The passenger must pay extra for baggage that exceeds the free baggage allowance. Below are the rates. Excess baggage is transported only when the technical capabilities of the aircraft allow it.
If all flights are operated on Aeroflot flights, then the presented rates are valid for transportation along the entire route. The exception is flights shared with other airlines. In this case, the baggage allowance of the carrier airline is valid (section "Codeshare flights"). The rules of the dominant carrier on the route are valid when the carriage is carried out on flights of 2 or more carriers, including codeshare flights.
An exception. IN aircraft companies "Russia" and "Aurora" for codeshare flights are subject to the rules of "Aeroflot".

Prior agreement with the carrier is required for the carriage of oversized baggage (203 cm in the aggregate of three dimensions) and heavy baggage (from 32 kg to 50 kg).
For excess baggage, the fares are valid for the entire route in each direction from the check-in point to the final point or to the first stopover point for more than 24 hours.
Among other things, they also differ from the class and fare you choose. As for the baggage allowance on Aeroflot Economy class aircraft, they are quite standard and transparent. True, there are several nuances that should be taken into account.
Baggage size for an Aeroflot Economy class plane and Aeroflot Economy class baggage are important components of any flight. Indeed, in case of violation of the rules, you will have to pay separately certain amounts that you simply must be at hand in case of such an unpleasant situation.
If you choose if you are using Premium for Economy, you are allowed 2 pieces of 23 kg each. All others imply only 1 seat for both categories.
What can you take with you to the salon?
In addition to the suitcase itself of 10 kg, the passenger has the right to take with him a woman's bag, a cane, an umbrella, a bouquet of flowers, a folder for papers, books or magazines. From multimedia items you can take laptop, camcorder, photo camera or mobile phone.
Carry-on baggage is also checked and weighed like baggage.
From clothes you can take outerwear, suit or dress in a garment bag.
When moving with a small child, then calmly take more baby food and carrycot.
Also, when buying Duty Free goods, they can be carried in the cabin of the aircraft, but in the presence of a sales receipt and in an unopened package.
Baggage allowance for passengers with children
When flying with a small child up to 2 years, regardless of the selected class or fare, without additional space, luggage is allowed weighing 10 kg and only for 1 piece.
Per child over 2 years old and under 12 spread the same rules as for other passengers.
Overweight and oversized tariffs
If you take not one suitcase to your Economy, but two, then you will have to pay for the second of them - 50 euros or dollars (for America, Canada and Asia. The exception is Tashkent, Bishkek, Dushanbe, Khujand, cities in Africa and Ukraine).
Weigh your suitcase beforehand so you know if you meet your baggage allowance.
If the permissible weight is exceeded, then the following rules apply:
- from 23 to 32 kg - 50 euros - for flights within the Russian Federation and 100 euros - for other destinations;
- from 32 to 50 kg - 100 euros - for domestic flights and 150 internationally.
Please note that in Europe a suitcase weighing more than 32 kg may not be accepted at all, as trade unions prohibit taking baggage of such weight.
If the problem is size, then such baggage is considered oversized. Wherein, for sizes over 158 cm, but less than 203,then you will need to pay 100 euros or dollars. When it also exceeds 203 cm,then you will have an amount of 150 euros / dollars for payment.
In winter Aeroflot allows to take with the main suitcase also set of ski equipment, but in a case. The rest of the time, it is considered oversized and paid separately.
There are times when a passenger exceeds baggage or hand luggage in all of the above parameters. In this case he pays for each category.
For example, a suitcase is more than 158 cm, but does not exceed 203 cm, and at the same time weighs up to 32 kg. You pay 100 euros and plus 50 euros if you travel in Russia, and another 100 euros abroad.
From February 15, 2018, Aeroflot began to strictly check the size, quantity and weight of hand luggage. The carry-on baggage of all passengers is now not only counted and weighed, but also placed in a calibrator - a measuring frame.
Depending on the airport, they can check several times: at check-in, before passport control and at the gate.
According to the airline, this measure was introduced due to complaints from passengers that carry-on luggage was passed uncontrolled and there was not enough space on board for things.
Latest changes in the rules for carrying hand luggage at Aeroflot in 2018
- checking the weight, dimensions and quantity of hand luggage for all passengers;
- dimensions of carry-on luggage increased by 5 cm - up to 55x40x25 cm;
- in carry-on baggage, you can carry musical instruments up to 135 cm by the sum of measurements and a guitar of any size;
- a camera, laptop, book and umbrella are now included in the main (and not additional, as it was before) carry-on baggage and are also subject to weighing.
In addition to the main piece of hand luggage weighing 10-15 kg and dimensions 55x40x25 cm, you can carry on board free of charge:
- a backpack weighing 5 kg and measuring no more than 80 cm in the sum of three dimensions, or a handbag, or a briefcase;
- one sealed duty-free bag no more than 115 cm in the sum of three dimensions;
- bouquet of flowers;
- outerwear;
- baby food during the flight;
- suit in a garment bag;
- a cradle or a restraint for children under 2 years old or a folding stroller weighing no more than 7 kg and dimensions no more than 42x50x20 cm;
- medicines needed in flight;
- crutches, walking sticks, walkers, rollators, folding wheelchair.
Laptop, camera, book and foldable umbrella now need to be packed inside the main carry-on bag. You can put your phone in your pocket. The cane umbrella must be checked in.
You can put things in the frame on either side, but if the wheels or the handle stick out, you will have to check in your baggage (if you exceed the norm, you will have to pay extra). They can check at check-in, before passport control and before boarding.
You can take on board Aeroflot for free in hand luggage:- one piece measuring 55x40x25 cm and weighing 10 kg in Economy and Comfort classes and 15 kg in Business class;
- backpack 5 kg and 80 cm in the sum of three dimensions or a handbag or briefcase;
- duty-free bag, outerwear, suit in a garment bag, folding baby stroller, bouquet of flowers, medicine, folding wheelchair for people with disabilities.
It is impossible to pay and carry in hand luggage more things than it should be.
How to carry duty-free goods in carry-on baggage
You can take one sealed duty-free branded bag to the salon no larger than 115 cm in the sum of three dimensions. Restrictions on the volume of liquids on purchases from duty-free do not apply: calmly buy alcohol and perfume in bottles larger than 100 ml, just do not open the bag before leaving the city at the airport of arrival.
What you can't carry in Aeroflot's carry-on baggage:
- sharp objects with a blade longer than 60 mm: knives, scissors, corkscrews, needles, knitting needles. If the blade is shorter, it can still be banned by the decision of the security service at the airport, so it is safer to check it in;
- liquids, gels and aerosols in containers larger than 100 ml: cream, honey and jam will not be missed. An exception is baby food and a special diet (you need a doctor's note);
- flammable and explosive substances, pyrotechnics: a gas cylinder for a tourist burner, firecrackers, sparklers. But you can use just one ordinary gas lighter;
- alcohol, with the exception of those purchased in duty-free;
- weapons and ammunition;
- simulators of weapons (including toys);
- lithium-ion batteries with a capacity greater than 160 Wh. From 100 to 160 Wh - Airline approval required. Up to 100 Wh (phones, laptops) - can be inside the equipment, pack spare batteries so that there is no short circuit;
- segways, hoverboards, hoverboards, electric scooters, mono-wheels powered by lithium batteries must be checked in with the battery removed, which is only allowed in carry-on baggage.
How many things can be checked in for free in Aeroflot baggage
Aeroflot has a piece baggage system. 1PC or 2PC on a ticket means how many pieces of baggage of a certain weight you can check in. In business class you have two seats - 32 kg each, in Comfort and Economy Premium - two seats 23 kg each, in other Economy fares - one seat 23 kg.
Maximum dimensions for free baggage - 158 cm in length, width and height. Anything that does not fit is checked in at excess baggage rates.
Is it possible to add the weight and size of the baggage
If you are flying with your family, friend or colleague on the same ticket, you can combine the weight of your free baggage. That is, the husband and wife have the right to hand over suitcases weighing 20 and 26 kilograms instead of two by 23 at no additional charge, or distribute the weight in a different way. But there is a limitation: each suitcase must be within 32 kg.
For two, 158 + 158 \u003d 316 cm is relied on in the sum of length, width and height. Hence, in luggage compartment you can return one 203 cm bag and the second 113 cm bag free of charge. You cannot return a bag over 203 cm.
How much does it cost to pay extra for overweight and oversized baggage at the airport
Baggage, which is more than the free norm in terms of the number of seats, weight and dimensions, is surrendered for an additional charge. On flights within Russia, you will have to pay from 2,500 to 7,500 rubles, depending on what is exceeded and how much. For example, you will pay 2,500 rubles if you keep within 32 kg. Surcharge for international flights - from 50 to 200 euros. Baggage from 32 to 50 kg and more than 203 cm in the sum of three dimensions can be transported only by agreement with the airline.

- poisonous, caustic and corrosive substances: hydrochloric acid, bleach;
- weapons and ammunition are allowed to be transported on an airplane, but separately from baggage and must be specially registered;
- e-Sigs;
- lithium-ion batteries with a capacity greater than 160 Wh, from 100 to 160 Wh - with the permission of the airline, inside the equipment. Small lithium-ion batteries up to 100 Wh for phones and laptops can only be carried in the luggage inside the equipment; take spare batteries in your carry-on luggage.
