Planning a seaside holiday this year has proven more difficult than ever. Turkey and Egypt are closed, Spain and Greece (of a good level) were too expensive. Even with the expansion of resort territories, Russia is unable to offer a good level for reasonable money. Thus, the choice fell on Bulgaria. This summer, the number of Russian tourists in this country has increased significantly due to the political situation in Russia and the fairly reasonable prices offered by Bulgaria.

But, unfortunately, the hotel I chose was far from the European level. An all inclusive hotel where everything is off.

Let's start the story from the very beginning.

We flew to Bulgaria at 2 am on 6.07.16. Considering that check-in at the Samara airport begins three hours before departure, and we still needed to pick up the passports (which were from the tour operator at the airport), then with all the luggage at the place of departure we were already at 11 pm on 5.07.16. Thus, having flown for about 4 hours, we ended up at the Burgas airport at 5.25 Moscow time.


After carrying our luggage, the very slow Bulgarians finally brought us to the hotel, where we ended up at 6.45.


And what was our surprise, and even more indignation, when it turned out that oh usually conditional check in at the hotel only at 14.00, and check out only at 12.00 and not a minute earlier. Usually this condition can be easily circumvented. If you arrived earlier than the check-in time, you can pay about $ 20 extra, and you are already sitting calmly in your room, but no, just not in this hotel. We had to wait for the appointed time. And it's not about the lack of numbers. We were directly told that there were rooms, but they would not move us in, as the manager told them so. And their gorgeous word "you can't", which they always used in their speech. In this hotel everything is "impossible".

But this "beautiful" morning didn't end there. Not knowing sleep for more than 24 hours, we waited for the check-in time. But already at 12.30 people stopped sitting quietly on the reception sofas, and began to stand in line. We also rushed to do it. By one o'clock in the afternoon a fat, huge queue of 7-10 people wide and about 6-8 meters long lined up at the hotel. And for an hour and a half we crowded and waited at 14.00. At 14.05 a smiling and slow girl began to populate people. We were about 6 in line and by 15.00 we were in the room. But when we went out to dinner at 18.00 the queue was only half resolved! And the question is, why create such a crush, if those who arrived at 6 in the morning could have moved in for a long time, and those who arrived later could also gradually move in. But no! We will specially collect the crush and increase the indignation of the vacationers!

Thus, having safely missed the paid breakfast and lunch, we found ourselves in the room.

The hotel surprises are not over. We paid for a room with a sea view... And in seven days of rest this "luxury" cost us an overpayment of 20 thousand rubles... Not sickly so beauty is worth it! But what did we see from the balcony? And here it is:

How did I not immediately notice it? In response to our complaint that we had been placed in the wrong building, the reception was told the ingenious phrase: "Nom's other rooms". (By the way, during the whole rest, I realized that in Bulgaria the two main words are "nyama" and "not allowed" ). Since we no longer had the strength for prolonged swearing, we calmed down and checked into this room.

We got a room in the Arcadia building on the 3rd floor.

A few words about the body ... For the "Metropol" and "Arcadia" buildings there is a common reception. The two buildings are connected by a long corridor.

About the room.


On the floor dirty, dusty, with huge black spots of carpet... (Someone was more fortunate and had tiles on the floor.) Double bed.On one side the mattress is strongly pressed. Bedspread wrinkledas if the third world war was staged on the bed. Jelly pillows and lumps... (according to the classification of Elena Letuchaya). Bed linen is new, clean, without pellets.


Of the pros: big the panoramic window has a mirror effect... If you do not turn on the light in the room, then you will not be visible from the street.

There is a large mirror tV with three Russian channels, refrigerator. It's empty but working... It is very cold.


From the lighting in the room there are two lamps above the bed, two above the TV, spotlights in the hallway by the closet. By the way, roomy wardrobe. There are many hangers. Safeis, but he paid.Keys must be collected at the reception. And pay in the same place.

Air conditioning yes, it works, but not regulated... If you put any number of degrees, it will still convert to the standard 27 or 28 degrees. What is the trick is not clear. It seems to be blowing, but there is no coolness. At night, he lowers the degrees. Where is the logic - I don't know.

The bathroom is combined with a toilet.

There are almost no complaints here: clean, beautiful, tidy (at least upon arrival). Toiletries: two shower gels, shampoo, conditioner and hair caps, two toilet papers. The hair dryer is working.Dries hair well.

However not enough towels... Upon arrival, the room had two large towels, one small for the hands and one for the feet. It does not reach the level of 4 stars.

The balcony is cramped. There are two armchairs, a table, an ashtray (although it is said that all rooms are non-smoking). By the way, this is how you can see all the balconies of the building: what hangs where and who does what.

Deserves special words cleaning level ... It is stated that the room is cleaned daily and the bed linen is changed twice a week. What happened in fact:

1. toilet paper is changed daily;

2. garbage is taken out daily;

3. towels changed in 7 days ONLY 1 TIME... And this by big agreement and with disassembly at the reception... The cleaning lady states that "the towels are nyama". Fun! And when they changed, they gave two towels with some monstrously huge brown spots. Asking the cleaning lady to change them, we again heard: "The towel is more nyama".

4. the carpet was vacuumedin 7 days ONLY 1 TIME... And this despite the fact that there are no disposable slippers in the room, and we naturally wore street shoes. And all the city's dirt and dust, as well as the sand from the beach, quietly rested on the carpet during the vacation.

5. the bathroom floor was never washed! This is how we brought the mud from the sea onto the floor on the first day, so it increased every day! Hair, sand, dust adorned the white tiles on the floor.

6. neither the sink, nor the bathroom, nor the toilet bowl have ever been washed or disinfected!

7. bed linen NEVER changed(and should have done it 4 times!), the made bed was not corrected or refilled.

Either I'm too spoiled, or the cleaning ladies get their money in vain!

Food.

At first, it should be mentioned that the hotel has three huge buildings and two restaurants. But during our vacation only one restaurant worked. therefore queues behind closed doors is a savory prelude to whet your appetite before eating. And while eating, more have to stand and wait for forks, knives and plates (I generally keep quiet about spoons, it was happiness if we can wait for them, as well as deep bowls for soup).

Secondly, range.I may find fault, but in my opinion he scantyor the very quality of the food is poor.Very often almost all dishes are cold!

Breakfast - egg apotheosis.Boiled eggs, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs. Boiled / fried sausages. Cooked / smoked sausage. Fried bacon. Pancakes are disgusting (if you try to roll them into a tube, they just break at the fold. I don't know what they are made of, but they look and taste unpleasant). Regular / curd cheese. Small salted herring / fish. Dry breakfast (chocolate balls). Jam and chocolate spread. Buns. From breakfast, only coffee from the coffee machine pleases (only first you have to look for which of them has milk, otherwise on the first day I received "milk chocolate" in the form of unclear water, a la there was no water in the house, and she suddenly went with rust), various variations of bread, and fruits (gave peaches, nectarines, apples, oranges, bananas). It seems like a lot, but in fact the whole vacation I had to sit on fried eggs and sausages. Boring.

Of the advantages of the restaurant - can carry food freely to the room... No one stops you at the exit from the restaurant and does not take away food. Therefore, we often carried sausages, cheese, bread and fruits from breakfast. They took them to the beach as a snack.


And what they didn't finish was given to the seagulls.


They cracked everything with pleasure, but, unfortunately, they immediately went to the toilet. Therefore, the balcony in some places was with reciprocal "gifts".


Lunch and dinner similar. Here you can already roam. Two types of soup (possible: chicken soup, veal soup, puree soup, tomato soup. There were no others). Fried chicken, stew, chicken cutlets, chicken sausages, chicken nuggets. Beef cutlets, beef stew, fried beef. Fried fish, deep-fried fish, stewed fish, breaded fish cakes. Pasta, broccoli, cauliflower, risotto, pilaf, lasagna, pizza, rice rolls in some kind of leaves. Salted fish. All salads are dry without dressing, except for the traditional Bulgarian salad "Snezhanka" (yogurt, grated cucumbers, herbs). Tomato and cucumber slicing. Usually she chose her. Since salads are impossible to eat. Desserts: nuts with condensed milk, cakes with cream, Turkish sweets. Free ice cream is served for dinner. (I liked the taste of the melon. I ate it all throughout the vacation). Decent strawberry, lemon. The rest - so-so or complete byaka. But there is nothing to record all this diversity with. Tea is not given, nor is coffee. Only concentrated juices (not tasty in this hotel), beer, wine (but we don't like that).

By the way, all the names of the dishes are signed in Bulgarian and English.

Infrastructure. In addition, the hotel has a spa, hairdresser, shops, two swimming pools (large and small). By the way, the whole of Bulgaria works only in local currency - lev(approximately 33 Russian rubles) and stotinka (1 lev 100 stotinks). Neither euros, nor dollars, let alone rubles are accepted anywhere.You can change money at the reception. But the exchange rate there is unprofitable (1 euro \u003d 1.86 lev, while everywhere at least 1.9). There are many exchangers in Sunny Beach. The most popular is "Crown". The course is tolerable. But your best bet is to find a Raiffeisen bank. There the course is best. But no matter how hard we tried, we never found him. Changed money at "Crown".

However, the beach is urban. Sun beds and umbrellas are paid. You can't just lie in this zone. You can lie either behind the paid zone, or between two paid zones. In fact, this area is five meters wide at most. There is not enough space. Hello, Soviet vacation at sea! Hotel does not provide beach towels, so if you don’t want to splurge on paid sun loungers on the sea and don’t want lie by the pool (sun loungers and umbrellas are free, but they take them at the beginning of the vacation immediately and for the whole rest), then take some couches with you.

About the sea.


Waterin early July warm, pleasant. Not fresh milk, but it's nice to swim. There are no jellyfish and mystical "pliers". However there are a lot of algae in the sea. If in the first half of the vacation it could still be tolerated. It feels like you fell and you swim in the water, where the cut grass has been thrown in patches... Then in last days our vacation, the situation worsened. If you have ever cooked a large saucepan with thick cabbage soup and could not finish them and decided to throw out half. We put our hand into the pot. Then you felt the cabbage and potato thick and a bit of broth. This is exactly the feeling we had on the last two days of our vacation. Only in the sea do you release not one hand, but go with your whole body. And you are in these "cabbage soup", only instead of cabbage there are thick green algae.

Very disgusting. Swimming was simply impossible! (Unfortunately, I didn't take a close-up photo. But you can compare the color of the water in the two photos above: 1st day and the last day).

Outcome: the opinion of tourists about the country is largely formed from the impression of the hotel in which they were vacationing. This hotel significantly spoiled my stay. Wouldn't recommend!

Rest in the hotel "Chaika Beach" 5 * on Slynchev Bryag (Bulgaria) left contradictory impressions. We had a rest with the whole family, consisting of 4 people - parents and two children in July 2009. At first everything seemed good. We were given a very large room - an apartment on the 6th floor with a sea view. We were happy because there was more than enough space for our family - the room was about 60 meters, including a huge balcony around the perimeter, since the room was at the end of the building. The room is cozy ...

The lobby of the hotel is beautiful, the corridors are clean, and the rooms ... Four of us were accommodated in a room with a double bed, next to which they simply put two folding beds for children - as a result free space there was simply no room left, and this was provided that the apartment 2 + 2 was paid for - i.e. two-room number. All attempts to restore justice or at least move to a more spacious room ended in nothing - the hotel administration said that it was settling in accordance with the tour operator's reservation, and the notorious tour operator blamed the hotel for all the blame. Everyone smiled and threw up their hands. The window of the room overlooked the pool, where music was playing loudly all day, and drunken companies walk around most of the night, that is, you can't sleep much with an open balcony. In addition, in the early morning seagulls were screaming very loudly on the roof. With the balcony closed, we turned on the air conditioner in the room, but it worked very weakly and the air came with an unpleasant smell of dampness and musty. The bed was never changed in 12 days, it was cleaned rarely and badly, the bed itself, especially the pillows and blankets, had an unpleasant stale smell. The TV remote control was not given to us during the entire rest, it was good that we had a laptop with us. Although, again, they allegedly paid for the password to the Internet in the room, but in fact it was only possible to use it in the hotel lobby, where there are always a lot of people and sometimes it was not even possible to sit down at the table. The food was poor (we took only breakfast and dinner), frozen French fries, cutlets from semi-finished products ((True, in the morning there were always boiled eggs, cheese, cereals and muesli with milk. Vegetables and fruits - in sufficient quantities. Meat was very rare, fish - never (by the sea). Meals like "buffet". Indeed, if you are a little late, you had to sit at dirty tables, there was not always enough coffee. Juices and drinks - for a fee. Someone mentioned in the reviews about free ice cream - and so, the ice cream in the refrigerator is in containers, next to it are waffle cups and a special spoon - that is, you take ice cream with this spoon and put it in your glass. At first we did just that. But after, when in my eyes some licked spoon and then put it back to the ice cream, I stopped taking it ((As for the cereal - for some days, for some reason, there were a lot of Arab families, and their children from all the bowls of cereal raked them right into their plates with both hands - after that there is how- I don't want to ... We tried to find a way out by coming to this "restaurant" as early as possible, while everything was relatively clean. At the same time, they are very strict so that no one can stand anything. The staff is not trained, impolite. Although among the locals, for some reason, this hotel is considered very expensive and there is an opinion that the richest tourists rest there. Animation and entertainment for children - zero. Our friends rested with us, who took "all inclusive" - \u200b\u200bthe only difference was that they went to have lunch (and were very sorry, because for lunch there was mainly canned tomato soup from cans and they felt bad several times after this dinner) and the bar had whiskey, gin and tonic and beer in plastic cups. That's all "inclusive".
Conclusion - I strongly advise the hotel. Of course, we tried to distract ourselves from all these moments - in the end, we came not to sit at the hotel, but to enjoy the sea and nature, and with that everything was fine.

We were greeted very happily at the reception at 7 am, they said there were no seats, but we have an amazing bar, where for their national currency leva, we can relax a bit after the flight and warm up, because it was +10! Having got drunk a little, stepping away from the flight, and warmed up, WE, the Ukrainians, went in a line to the showdown ... and, lo and behold, at 15 o'clock they even settled in! The rooms are so-so, tightened in one word .... We went to eat, that's a different story altogether, so they don't allow themselves to cook even in Turkey 3 * - the food is not tasty, the fruit is wrinkled, it is not clear what it smells ... hours, and the following evening, could not share with us the delights of the evening landscape, and spent it in the room. We walked, drank, went to the disco, and, decided to hang out on the internet (fortunately, I took the note with me) - I came to the reception, paid 35 lev for the internet week - they gave me a login and password, I come to my room - I don't catch a wi-fi, a lot access points but does not connect, weak signal, I go out to the balcony - it catches from the pool FREE, I come to the reception and ask for a refund - they are not a fig - like bring your laptop here, I say like this here, you need it there in my room, in the same place does not catch - here of course it will catch. They sent a boy with me, who doesn’t fumble, he looked and said that they say yes .. it's stupid of course to pay for free internet .. but I can't help you with anything (the boy is just a concierge). That's how they stupidly lit me for 20 euros !!!
The next day, for some reason, I ran out of money on my mobile phone ($ 60), which remained in the room, and READ VERY CAREFULLY: there are 2 fewer cigarettes in the pack :))))) - the concierge smoked my cigarettes: ) from which there was a corresponding smell in the room (I smoke only on the street).
They don’t change the bed, they just fold the towels nicely and don’t change them either .. once they took all the big ones, I had to run after the concierge and ask .. but regularly the "tip for the maid" envelope after "cleaning" is laid out in a prominent place :-) cleaning is straightened the bed and mopped the floor, sometimes they even take out the garbage .. but not every day.
There is no entertainment in the hotel!
Everything is somehow pathetic, a little stressful, the reception understands Russian well, but as soon as you start to get them *, they immediately cease to understand it and speak their own!
On the last evening, I also got poisoned at dinner, sat in my room, thought about life ...
Tomorrow's flight was postponed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and, they warned them to leave their rooms at 12, and hang out with their things somewhere far away, Ivaylo got lost somewhere, and the next day we didn't see him either, they said that he had office in another hotel, where the pool is illuminated :)))

This summer, our whole family of 10 people rested in Bulgaria in Sunny Beach at the Arcadia-Chaika hotel. The Chaika hotel complex is huge, has several buildings and 2 swimming pools. Although the hotel has a 4 * plus, nevertheless, the service in it wants to leave much better. Rooms are cleaned with delays, towels and bed linen are not changed until required. Almost all rooms have some kind of problem with showers, taps and toilet. As for the food, it is very average monotonous and not very tasty. It is worth a few minutes late for the dining room and you cannot find a clean table, there are not enough plates, cutlery, napkins. Juices and drinks are only available for an additional fee. We felt a shortage everywhere, for example, sun beds by the pool and they had to be taken from the very early morning, otherwise you would not have gotten anything. Sun loungers on the beach by the sea were also paid, and cost 3.5 euros for a sunbed and 5 euros for an umbrella. All services, including those in shops and restaurants, are quite expensive, and you need to be constantly on the alert so that you, as tourists, are not cheated. And in all other respects everything was fine - the sea, sand, seagulls, weather.

I'll start with the disadvantages: poor room cleaning (every day they just cleaned up the garbage and straightened the bed), dirty pools, lack of sun loungers near the pools, a restaurant a la dining ... but the food is very normal. many write monotonous, but for such a hotel everything is fine. Plus 1 coastline, convenient location, normal food (many different fruits, ice cream in unlimited quantities). bought at breakfast-dinners, quite enough. I do not recommend taking all inclusive, because it is not the same there as in Turkey and Egypt, and in principle it is not needed there. There are a large number of markets where you can buy everything that is missing. The hotel is suitable for young people, families with children. Vacationers are mostly Poles and Germans, many Englishmen and, of course, the entire post-Soviet space. I do not recommend this hotel for demanding and meticulous tourists, because the service is poor and noisy. And those who are positively disposed and going to rest, and not look for flaws, in principle, will like everything. flaws can be found everywhere. Normal hotel!

Absolutely does not correspond to the declared 4 stars. The hotel requires renovation (for example, "Arcadia"). The rooms are not cleaned only if for a tip. The administrator (woman) is a ham! The food wants to be the best. In the dining room (you can't call it a restaurant) there is an eternal queue, there is not enough dishes, food too. One plus is the proximity to the sea. Do not choose this hotel EVER!

The hotel has a very good value for money. The hotel is excellently located and well looked after. The staff is qualitatively selected and trained - most of all we met friendliness and smiles, much less frostbite - but also within the bounds of decency and polite. Be polite and friendly, in this hotel, if you smile, then they will smile at you. In general, we can say that the hotel staff did everything in their power to make our vacation a success.
The food, as elsewhere, is very monotonous - but of high quality and most often with a good choice (breakfast is always the same - bacon, sausages, various eggs and croutons; for dinner, roast, cutlets, always chicken, almost always pork, rarely veal; always fruit, vegetables, olives, cheeses). Most importantly, there is always enough food for everyone. You may not have enough watermelon in the off-season, but all the main dishes are cut, cooked and always heard. This food is very, very far from a good Turkish 5-ki, but this is far from a minus, it's just a fact that is adequate to the price and the resort. Foodies can easily (and inexpensively) dine in the city. In our case, the option with half board at the hotel and independent meals was very successful for a low-alcohol family with a child; the all inclusive option at this resort seems overkill.
The room is very spacious, the bed is huge; TV, refrigerator, 2 armchairs, table and sofa in the room. The air conditioning system is common. Not without drawbacks (the sofa is harsh, the mattresses on the bed move apart, in extreme heat, the general air conditioning is 4 out of 5 balls), but nothing critical. Soundproofing is present in some places. In general, it is very adequate and even more than that - it pleases.
In our case, there are no complaints about cleaning, everything is very friendly, attentive and of high quality. Bathroom accessories are not without drawbacks, but since this is not Turkey, and you are not closed on the territory of the hotel, the especially fastidious can take two steps to the nearest supermarket and spend two kopecks on what your soul lacks (for example, our soul does not there was enough soap as much as we want, and not as much as it should be).
The sea and the weather are very different, and this is the moment where you will appreciate the hotel's proximity to the sea. In any case, the hotel is located in a successful way for you - in the center of the resort, across the promenade from the sea. The downside to the location in the center of the resort is the crowds on the beach. However, until 8 o'clock, you can choose a place for yourself quite calmly. It is advisable to travel for 2-3 weeks; if you check in for 1 week, with bad luck, you can run into solid algae or a stormy wind for several days. Of course, we really missed the Turkish private beach (which, moreover, is also regularly cleaned), but this is not a claim to the hotel, but to the resort itself and partly to holidaymakers.
For fans of the pool all day long, a thrill is guaranteed. In principle, the hotel is designed so that everything is enough for everyone. But the love of citizens to occupy sunbeds, and then to swear and fight for them, spoils the original idea of \u200b\u200bconsuming this good. It's not the hotel's fault that the sunbeds are occupied from evening to morning and are empty. However, we always had enough of the sea in the morning and at lunchtime, and the pool (on your towel or on a sunbed) in the evening.
General impressions of your stay at this hotel will greatly depend on your mood, and a little - on the people with whom you have to relax. (When there are more adult foreigners, it is easier to relax - they are calmer while eating and much more correct on the beach.) There are a number of little things in the life of the hotel that you can find fault with, but there is nothing so serious that you cannot dismiss it and calmly rest further. Go there in a good mood and the hotel will not let you down, and your rest will be successful, of high quality and joyful.
