The photos, which were full of the Internet and the official website of the hotel, cannot be compared with what appeared before us. Even the driver of our minibus who took us, the last tourists to the hotel, said that this hotel has one of the best sea views on the entire beach.
At the reception we were warmly greeted by the already familiar "Sawadi-kaa", we quickly and imperceptibly issued documents while we examined the hotel lobby, figurines of elephants made of flowers (by the way, elephants in various forms were found everywhere, after all, a symbol of the island), a fruit tree, which grew right in the hall ...
The hotel itself stands on a natural hill, which, adorned with all kinds of imaginable and unthinkable flowers and plants, gently descends to the sea. The hotel consists of a main building with standard rooms and deluxe rooms, a series of superior cottages located above all the buildings, just below, a series of deluxe cottages and right by the sea, the most expensive superior spa, deluxe spa and suite spa, standing close to the spa center of the hotel, which is considered one of the best on Chang. All massages as well as all different Spa treatments are offered at this center. We only tried the floral-bath on ourselves (a hot tub with essential oils and flowers), for thirty minutes of bliss we paid 1000 baht for two. But in general, massage is expensive here, much for less money you can find the same thing in the village, albeit with less entourage, glamor and chic.
Electric cars are running all over the hotel. One of them brought us to our cottage. The deluxe cottage was all buried in greenery, pomelo and other fruits grew at arm's length from it, had its own terrace with a stunning view of the sea and the islands, a view that made me want to live on this particular beach, in this hotel ... In front of each cottage there was a vat of water, again strewn with orchid petals, so that we could wash the sand off our feet after the beach. The cottage had everything and even more than needed: a hairdryer, slippers, bathrobes, a TV, a free safe in the closet, a bathroom decorated with flowers, even a kettle and bags of coffee-tea. The hotel area is small, but very well appointed and beautiful. Downstairs, right on the beach, there is a fancy-shaped swimming pool, a bunch of free sun beds and umbrellas, suspended swings and hammocks, kayak rentals, and the beach itself, immersed in greenery, and the sea. The purest sand, the purest sea, in a word, Bounty))). I will not say that the sand was snow-white, no, it was rather golden and very compacted, at first I could not understand why. But in the morning it became clear ... When we came to the sea the next day, we found it much closer than it was yesterday, practically by the pool. The ebb and flow on Chang is normal, the sea once went very far, so much so that it was possible to walk almost to the islands opposite, if it were not for the corals, we would have done it. However, you need to be careful, the tide is very fast, the water comes literally before our eyes.
A few words about the breakfasts ... I think it is already clear that they are excellent. They cannot compare with our breakfasts in Pattaya .. For breakfast one could taste the first, second, third, and dessert. Rice noodle soups with any filling, salads, European snacks, omelet, which is prepared right in front of you, Thai dishes, pastries, fruits, even waffles were baked. The service at the hotel is excellent, from cleaning to service on the beach. Any ordered dish will be brought (delivered in an electric car) to you directly to the beach, they can be brought directly into the sea, while the dish is carefully wrapped in film so that the sand does not fall.
For lovers of stormy nightlife on Chang and even more so on Ka Bay, and even more so in Sea View Resort it will probably be boring. From all the entertainment of the hotel - live music in the evenings. On the Ka Bay beach in the neighboring Porn's Bungalow in a restaurant right on the beach, they show a fire show (a fire show accompanied by acrobatic music), which is enough to watch at once. We, though young, have enough hustle and bustle and stormy evenings in Moscow, according to our tradition, we loved to sit on the beach, eat shrimp and squid bought inexpensively in the village, or do the same thing on our terrace to the sound of live music and the noise of either the tide or the ebb of the sea ...
Entertainment at the hotel.
In addition to sunbathing, swimming, swinging and bungee jumping and just swimming, the hotel also offers such entertainment as kayak rent. This is a two-seater plastic canoe-type boat. Renting a kayak is fun for the whole day, because, firstly, it is interesting to ride a boat and even paddle, and secondly, on a kayak you can swim to the island opposite (Koh Man Nai) and explore it, as well as mangroves, which grow there, thirdly, the island has a small sandy beach, completely empty and deserted, where you can spend the whole day, and fourthly, around Ko Man Nai you can go snorkeling and not go anywhere, because here is full of fish and coral. All the fun cost 50-60 baht per hour per boat. For those especially interested, you can swim and swim to Ko Man Nai.
The kayak is rented, the camera is tightly wrapped in three bags, in case our boat turns over and we hit the road. To be honest, it is quite difficult to operate this apparatus, besides, the kayak is not very stable, even once we turned over, fortunately, right next to the shore.
Having sailed to the island, on the beach we found a man's parking: a small hut organized right on a tree. You involuntarily begin to feel like Robinson Crusoe. Here, 5 meters from the shore, corals already begin, and you could swim with a mask. The underwater world for me, who had never been to Egypt, was very rich and colorful. True, knowledgeable people said that nothing beats the Red Sea. However, there were a lot of interesting things for me, since I first saw what corals are. There were many small fish, some kind of cucumbers lying on the bottom and as if breathing, at first I thought they were snakes, but then I calmed down, like such algae, and there were also many hedgehogs, the needles of which were sticking out of the corals.
Here, right next to the beach, mangroves began. Such plants, which grow on the coastal zone in salt water, are unique in that they convert salt water into fresh water, and their salt crystallizes on the back of the leaves. We decided to sail around the island. On its other side, opposite from Chang, the shores are very rocky, in addition, you can feel the proximity open sea, the waves became very strong. We managed to "park" in a small cove and drag the kayak ashore. Here was the kingdom of crabs, which, clattering with their legs, scattered into the loose. The underwater world in this place was beautiful not with corals, but with stone grottoes and schools of fish, of which there were quite a few. Crunching and chomping was heard everywhere under the water, fish are eating corals.
Our friends decided to sail further to the next island. In total, four of them can be seen from the coast of Chang: Koh Yuak, Koh Pli, Koh Man Nok and Koh Man Nai, and it seems that they are quite close to Chang. However, from the coast of Ko Man Noi it became clear that the distance was decent. We also decided to try our hand, but after sailing fifteen meters from Ko Man Noi I got scared, because the waves became even stronger, the water even darker, and the kayak rocked so hard that we turned back. We are not picky tourists, we have been in different hotels and inns, we have seen many horrors, so negative reviews the hotel was not confused. The choice fell on him, because this is the first trip to Thailand, and sitting at the computer is hard to have a complete idea of \u200b\u200bthe country. Check-in.
As elsewhere at 14 o'clock. We arrived in the dark, so we didn't wait. A deposit of 2000 baht is taken immediately and only in this currency. There is an exchange office nearby (the dollar varied from 30.70 to 30.00 during our stay. For comparison with the street - from 31.40 to 31. Euros, rubles, etc. are also changed. The ATM in the lobby was not used, as in principle anywhere did not use). When checking out (at 12:00) it is returned, but we used it to zero (ate at the hotel cafe). The luggage room is a corner in the staff office.
Room.
We took the Deluxe Sea View during the period early booking - and settled in it. 4804 - a large building to the right of the main one, if you stand facing the main entrance. Quite spacious room on the 8th floor with 1 large bed and 1 small bed. There is a table and chairs - you can take it out to a modest balcony. Opposite the bed is a desk with a non-flat TV with a bunch of Thai and Chinese channels. We watched channel from Pegas and Russia 1 (poor image quality) in Russian, and there is also channel 49 - popular films in English without ads. Also in the room there is a mini-fridge with bottles of drinking water (volume 0.5, the number depends on the number of residents), which are updated every day for free (if you leave for the whole day and leave them intact - do not wait for additional ones, so we always carried them away even to the beach) and a very creaky wardrobe with robes, slippers and umbrellas. (Regarding this product - do not even think about using it, these things are closely monitored, so if you take them out of the room, spoil them, God forbid you want to take them away as a souvenir - they will be fined. Moreover, these are not disposable things, and they are washed or no - I definitely won't volunteer to speak.) Also, there is a pretty good safe in the closet (if you don't have one in your room, welcome to the safe at the reception). There is a kettle with cups / spoons in the room, next to it are tea / coffee / sugar / dry cream bags. It's all free and replenished.
The bathroom is also spacious with a toilet and a large mirror. There is a hairdryer, shower kits (shampoos, soaps, hats, etc.). The bathroom itself is not the first freshness, but not critical. What was more surprised is that if you use a shower, it is not removable and not adjustable, my young man, to put it mildly, experienced difficulties, since he was very tall, I had to bend down all the time.
There are a bunch of lights in the room, but I never found out where most of them turn on (most likely half are broken).
Air conditioning. Really noisy, but not as frightening as some of the reviews of tourists. The next day you get used to it and do not hear it until the end of the rest. But it is very functional. You can cool the room down to 10 degrees in 2-3 minutes, very convenient!
Soundproofing has been worse. In the room itself, the neighbors were not heard, in the bathroom there is a little water and flush. But what really made noise was some kind of mechanism from the 1st or auxiliary floor on the 5th day of rest. Suddenly you hear the sound of switching on, as if the mechanism came into action, after a couple of seconds the final sound - the owners of not silent washing machines will understand - as if things fall when the drum is scrolling. And at night it really bothered me, woke up. What it is, they did not find out, not the reception desk speaks exclusively in Thai, they decided not to waste time and effort.
Cleaning
She's gone. Towels are changed every couple of days, every day they are folded neatly and the bed is made, garbage is taken out, hygiene items are added. Bed linen was changed 2 times in 10 days. (According to our tourists living in the main building on the 2nd floor - they changed every day). Get ready for the dust in the room - this is the norm for Thais. Theft was not found. But they decided not to tip. Once they left them, the cleaning lady took them, but did her job worse than usual.
Nutrition
They cook more for tourists, once the spicy meat for the whole rest was caught in the hotel.
Buffet breakfasts. Every day scrambled eggs, vegetables, fruits, pastries, tea, coffee, rice, 2 types of sausages and tasteless ham, as well as two types of soup. Hot change (noodles, meat, vegetables). Sometimes they cook something extra, but not every day (scrambled eggs, Thai soup, etc.). There are also decent juices, water, cold / hot milk.
You can have lunch / dinner in the restaurant in the lobby or 2 cafes by the pool (the menu is the same, you can use a deposit).
Sweet pancakes are also made by the pool.
Prices are higher than on the street by about 15%, they cook about the same.

Beach.
Pretty big. The water is surrounded by a floating fence, so there is almost no debris. Sand, shells, stones. You can play volleyball and beach soccer. Sunbeds around the beach under palm trees, but they can't stand on the sand itself. From the beach, the Temple of Truth is visible from almost all points. What surprised me was the lack of lifeguards! So be careful. Fish swim in the water, sometimes biting plankton.

Sometimes you could catch by the pool, sometimes even at breakfast, and sometimes the lobby did not work. You constantly have to re-enter. Very uncomfortable. But at the same time, the signal reached the beach for several days.
Service
He's not here. So if you want something, I don’t envy. More precisely, you will either be poorly understood or not understood at all. During my vacation, I had a birthday. I didn't get the bonus from the hotel. And they ordered a gift from Russia (flowers), so they were thrown under the door of the room. What is the problem to put in the number itself, I don't understand. It was very unpleasant. We didn’t go for a massage, they didn’t buy anything in the shops at the hotel, the gym was the last century. There are no huge signs "Toilet" or "Shower", so search and you will find. Beach towels are ok but old.

They greeted us well, gave us water and tourist sim cards (for calling a guide or urgently somewhere, a day of free messengers opens up, there is an opportunity not to sit in the Lobby and not get nervous, but to go to the local supermarket "7/11" and for 89 baht you they will connect the Internet for a week, however, we did not use it). The guide on the way told a lot and completely. Return trip to Russia was terrible. It's just some kind of test. Picked up 6 hours before departure (perhaps we were just unlucky) and froze on the bus.
Hotel guide. THIS IS A SEPARATE TOPIC. I have not met such a boor for a long time. The name is Orhan. Do not even think about going to a meeting with him, if you do not plan to go on excursions with Anex. I still remember him with horror. For 2 hours at a meeting, he talked about his past, some friends and friends, and he was reluctant to answer all our questions. If asked, he betrayed aggression. He pushed 5 excursions, which he himself saw fit to tell. And he repulsed all desire to go anywhere at all. He answered questions about other excursions that were interesting to us in such a way that he made it clear "You won't go there and that's it." You know, this is not a guide, but some kind of huckster, whose key argument is "You won't find cheaper", which, of course, is not true. Persuaded us to go for free sightseeing tour... I read in the reviews that this is a waste of time that they carry around the shops. But I didn't think ALL DAY. ABSOLUTELY ALL DAY FROM STORE TO STORE. And then there is a huge deuce to both Aneks and Orhan. They just stole the whole day. But if you love shopping, go ahead. Of course, it's not all bad. Between the shops, the guide told quite interesting information (I remind you, this is our first trip to Thailand, maybe that's why it was interesting) We visited: an orchard (tasted fruits, walked, tasted exotic teas), a snake farm (looked at a snake, a snake show (pretty funny, you won't regret it), there was an opportunity for an additional fee, try a snake, tasted a snake liqueur), Big Buddha Hill (but since we were brought there at the end and at dusk, we could not fully enjoy it). And ending with the topic of the hotel guide. He gave false information on the flight. On our call with questions, they received a bunch of "Dear" (this is his favorite word) and rudeness, sent us to the Anex hotline to sort it out ourselves. In general, they called Anex, Azur air, looked on the Internet, in short - they found out everything themselves, they also wrote for the rest of the guests at the information stand, but Orkhan never showed up at the hotel. I advise you to study reviews of the hotel with google maps in front of your eyes. I did just that, so I knew about everything about the area. The hotel is located in the Naklua area and there is one road from it, here on it all shops and cafes are located, there are excursion bureaus. This is a tourist area, therefore, as everyone said, it is more expensive than in the city. But in principle, the prices are reasonable. From the first Family Mart you can take pattaya map is free. Two main tips - many goods are cheaper in the pharmacy (located at the bend of the main road) than in the supermarket, there is also a yellow exchanger - it is more profitable than the first one, which is closer to the hotel. We ate (mostly) at the Coconaut Cafe (from the tourist reviews below). At the entrance, a specific smell that you get used to, super wi-fi, good-natured hosts, sports broadcasts and a large selection at very reasonable prices!
The location of the hotel is really remote from the city center, you have to go by 2 tuk-tuk or taxi.
For children, the hotel has nothing but a pool.

The hotel is fully consistent with the description and photo. Luxurious jungle, well-groomed territory, gentle warm sea, smiling staff willing to serve you. For me this is my favorite high-class hotel, the best in terms of "price and quality" in Koh Chang. I am a regular customer and hope to remain an ardent fan for many years to come. Before deciding on the choice of a hotel, we looked at several others on neighboring beaches, including unambiguously came to the conclusion that we were here) We stayed in family deluxe, number 9003. Great location - Nearby breakfast, parking, funicular stop, swimming pool. The room is very spacious, two rooms, clean and comfortable. From the window you can see the sea and the nearest islands. The beach is perfect. Small, of course, but clean and safe. The sunbeds have a bottom map - you can see where the sandy bottom is shallow, and where the corals are deep. The beach is cleaned, clean. No fleas / flies were noticed. While on the neighboring beach the algae are not removed, they lie in heaps on the shore and a bunch of bitten people. Very hilly area. It's hard to walk, but there is always a funicular or an electric car, which will quickly deliver to the desired point. The pool downstairs was closed for renovation, but it didn't bother us in any way. Upstairs there is a beautiful pool with a slide and a mesmerizing sea view. On the beach in the restaurant there is a kayak rental service - convenient. Monkeys run around the territory, but they are more likely not a danger, but fun. I liked everything very much.

the attitude of the staff towards guests is completely indifferent, there is no top management at the hotel ... the hotel does not reach five stars at all ... the room was booked 3 months in advance, and by the time of arrival the hotel had launched a reconstruction of the pool, which the staff did not even bother to warn about. ..the rest passed to the sound of jackhammers ... We rested in this hotel two years ago, so there is something to compare. The hotel claims to be a five-star hotel, but in reality it is not. They clean the rooms very badly, they just wipe the floor, wash the bathroom and that's it. For five stars, this is not enough. The room is not comfortable and the furniture is all old. The towels are gray. They don't wash the dishes in the room - I did it myself. In general, very cool. The mini bar is almost empty - you might think about it. Regarding breakfasts - not a fountain. Everything is standard: omelets, fruits, sausages, tea and coffee with pastries. Not much variety for vegans. 2 years ago it was more soulful at this hotel. When cleaning the rooms, they neatly laid out all our things, folded bathrobes and removed excess wet towels. We will not go to this hotel again.
We were at this hotel in the spring of 2018 and we can note that the hotel has gotten worse: old authentic wooden buildings on the territory are crumbling, the rooms have become obscenely dilapidated, and at the same time, several ugly concrete "villas" were built in the middle of the main territory with a claim .... , the area around them was blocked ((. The mountain trailer is the one that carries up the mountain for breakfast and to the upper building, which already walks very slowly and cannot cope with the flow of guests even in the off-season, was constantly turned off in the rain, and then simply closed for repairs ((As a result, everyone is taken back and forth on ancient open cars from which monstrous black smoke comes out when climbing steep mountain - and passengers breathe these exhausts while driving through the beautiful green jungle (((. Our room turned out to be faulty - air conditioner and socket, part of the furniture was missing, the dilapidated duvet cover was reached to small holes. As a result, after repeated calls and attempts to fix and fix - half the next day, the staff and I were looking for a suitable and free room in the building and moved - we found and did not pay attention to the loudly buzzing old refrigerator and the broken cabinet door (the pool below is closed for repairs until October - there are noisy construction works... The two oldest buildings next to this pool are therefore impossible to live in. The upper building, where breakfasts and the most decent new rooms, have difficult access due to an idle trolley and smoking cars. Our building next to the ocean was the only convenient option, but the rooms ....... And by the way, another surprising circumstance - the beach located under the windows of our building does not belong to the hotel, but belongs to the neighboring three-star ((and bungalow cabins under the windows Conclusion: the place is good, but the management and managerial decisions are inadequate, strange and illogical; the staff is nice - but we did not understand and did not see that someone really controls it, there are a lot of staff - but all are a little lost and disorganized.

A small green island with a beach nearby - which can be reached by kayak in 15 minutes. Kayaks for rent 200 - 300 baht - there are several rentals nearby. Monkeys come to visit - on the balcony and in the rooms. If you know how to behave correctly with them (do not feed, do not leave food in the room and on the balcony, do not play and do not tease, do not touch) - you can get a lot of pleasure watching the big monkey family) - I came to rest after robbing neighbors rooms)), a monkey mother with three children of different ages. From time to time, terrible screams and female screams of guests from neighboring rooms were heard throughout the building, who caught the looting of their rooms and balconies - monkeys dragged food, cleaning and light clothes. The monkeys are not to blame (this is their territory: the island of Koh Chang is a reserve) - the guests of the hotel who play, feed and tease are to blame.
