"Huge hotel with quality service"

I think many are already aware that this hotel combines other hotels and a whole complex is obtained through which you can freely move expanding your horizons with new and beautiful views in all territories. The Grand Palladium is located not far from Punta Cana Airport, so after a long flight it will not take long to travel. We lived in one of the buildings, and our friends booked a bungalow. Both dwellings did not disappoint us. By the way, there is no bungalow

cracks and insects inside never climbed. The staff are fabulous and cleaned every day even if it was clean. The rooms are not large, but there is enough space, especially since each room has its own balcony. By the way, a safe is provided free of charge in the room. For food, tourists can rest assured, because the hotel has many restaurants and bars with varied cuisine. Everything is fresh and quickly served at the table. But, I think that it is more profitable to take all-inclusive, there is no limit to the choice. The pools are simply gorgeous, spacious and always with clean water. You can swim in the morning for animation. To summarize, I can recommend a hotel for energetic people who like to have fun and relax in luxury.

Rested in this hotel for the new 2011 year. Grand palladium Punta cana Resort & Spa merged into a complex with the Grand Palladium Bavaro and Grand Palladium hotels Palace Resort, Spa & Casino. This is a single huge territory with a common infrastructure for all hotels. The rest and the hotel is great, but I'll start with the placement and give it a 3 at a stretch. Upon arrival at the hotel after many hours of flight, at the reception it turned out that our stay at the hotel was not yet

paid. I do not know whose fault it is - whether our tour operator (Natalie tours) or the hotel, but we sat in the dark for more than 2 hours (and this is after a long flight). Neither our hotel guide nor representatives of Natalie Tours provided assistance and did not take any part in resolving the issue. The guide Caesar helped us. This is not our hotel guide, he just treated tourists with a child in a human way, to whom no one cared. They put us in the furthest corner from the ocean, but since we were very tired and hungry, we took a room. But when we came to our senses a little, we realized that instead of the Grand Palladium Punta Cana Resort & Spa, where we had booked Junior Suites, there were rooms with a balcony or terrace, a bedroom, a living area with a double sofa bed, a bathroom, an outdoor jacuzzi and a direct view of the ocean, we were settled in the Grand Palladium Bavaro, where the room with the same name (Junior Suites) no longer offers a direct view of the ocean, but allows a view of the garden. When registering a voucher, we were guaranteed a room with a jacuzzi, seating area, direct ocean views. And we got a little room without a special view from the window, very far from the ocean, something was dripping from the ceiling, the drain in the toilet did not work, the water did not leave the shower well, there was an unpleasant smell, there was no jacuzzi. How many calls we made to Natalie Tours - no one wanted to deal with us, the hotel guide (Lena, it seems, was her name) generally took a strange position - "these are your problems, I am only on excursions." Caesar came to our aid again. Thanks to his efforts, we were finally placed in the room we ordered - with a direct view of the ocean. From that moment our fantastic vacation began! Service staff - 5+! They are always incredibly happy to see you. Even if music does not sound - it is always in their heart - they always dance, sing, smile. Food - 5+! Restaurants, bars, kiosks, 24/7 sports bar, a huge selection! Various cuisines are presented - for every taste! Sea entertainment: tennis, golf, volleyball, basketball, football, rifle and crossbow shooting, casino, billiards, table football. Animation on the beach - aerobics, boccia, darts, different games every day! Pool animation - water polo, various competitions. Evening animation - unmatched concerts. The Brazilian festival was especially memorable. We took an excursion "swimming with dolphins". The child disappeared in the kids' club. The territory is huge. Sometimes they even just got on the free open bus to drive through the territory and admire it. Peacocks live near the main restaurant, flamingos live on another pond. Coconuts, palm trees, white sand, smiles are just a fairy tale! Have been to Egypt 5 times, but the Dominican Republic is unforgettable! This is a must see! Despite the terrible check-in, I highly recommend this hotel and will go there again if possible.

03/01/2011: In general, the hotel produced a very, very good impression... They did not regret the choice they made and were completely satisfied with the rest. Will we return there again if we decide to spend a vacation in the Dominican Republic? Quite possibly, but next time we would prefer to stay at the Bavaro Hotel, which is part of the Grand Palladium complex. In our opinion, it will be the most comfortable. If you have already decided to relax at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana hotel, then I advise you to take into account the following information: 1. Seeing the gardener (a man tired of the sun in a green, shabby uniform), pay attention: is there his clear plastic bag of coconuts ?! If there are any, feel free to approach and ask for a treat. In addition to the wonderful taste impressions of the exotic fruit, you will also find a small master class on mastering a machete. The gardener uses it to cut a coconut right in the field. This pleasure is free, but personally I have always encouraged the Dominican with a dollar. 2. If you cannot imagine life without sports and are going to visit the gym, then it will be useful for you to know the following: It is better to go there either early in the morning or in the evening, since it is impossible to breathe in the room during the day due to its disgusting air conditioning. Also, be prepared for fierce competition on the treadmill and keep in mind that without sports shoes you will not even be allowed to approach the uneven bars. 3. The sockets located in the rooms have a voltage of 110 volts. Therefore, when packing your suitcases on the road, pay attention to specifications devices that you intend to take with you (for example: hair dryer). 4. Beach towels are provided only at the pools. At the same time, the working hours of the staff tents are very specific. 8.30 am to 5.30 pm. Therefore, I recommend wearing towels from the beach in the room, and changing them to clean ones during the day. 5. There are no pre-registrations for restaurants in Ala - Cards and you can visit them an unlimited number of times. But if you have gathered to dine in one of them, be prepared for a big queue. At the entrance you will be given a kind of pager and asked to take a walk. When a suitable table is free, your pager will inform you about it. You can pass the time in the nearby bars. In general, it is very convenient if you are willing to wait. Also, men should keep in mind the strict dress code: the entrance to the restaurant only in trousers (cut and style are not important). 6. I highly recommend visiting the show at the Asian Alya Carte restaurant. To do this, you must first reserve a table by going to the restaurant on the day of the intended visit at 17.30. and inform that you want to book a table at the "Show". For a simple visit to an Asian restaurant, a reservation is not needed. I will be glad if the information I have given above is useful to someone and I wish you a pleasant stay !!!

I have never written a review before, however, after staying in the Palladium Punta Cana, I decided to leave my impressions of the rest. In the Dominican Republic for the first time. Last year, my friends rested in this hotel, and they advised. We were in late July - early August. The flight was long, but not difficult. Very friendly people met at the reception, some of them, as it turned out later, because of their work, speak a little Russian. The hotel territory is incredibly clean, you will not find a cigarette butt or a piece of paper anywhere. The sand on the beach is surprisingly white, and the beach itself is also very clean, despite the large number of guests in the middle of the day. In general, the hotel campus is huge, it has four separate hotels. You can freely walk around any territory, any restaurants and bars are open for you. I advise you to visit the Hemenguey bar, try cocktails. Also, be sure to try the Dominican rum at the hotel, if you want to buy it home, then I took it in Ola's shop, 4 minutes walk along the beach to the right. Regarding restaurants, be sure to see how they work, and whether you need to pre-register there. The only negative is that many hotel employees (except for the reception) and locals do not speak English, I advise you to buy a Russian-Spanish phrasebook if you want to chat with locals. I hope everything will be useful.

Basically, we wanted to live in a bungalow, in a large and cheerful hotel, therefore we chose GRAND PALLADIUM BAVARO 5 *.
I will not talk about the flight - all the same, everyone has different carriers.
We got to the hotel in the evening, around eight. Issued pretty quickly, the porter was funny.
Note that the hotel was built by drunken guest workers, not a single flat road, except for two serving. The paths, paved with red stones, twist so that it is virtually impossible to find the necessary house without the "Susanin" - even on the maps that are every hundred meters, it is not clear that half of the bungalows are not marked. Plus, they are practically not covered. And since the houses are also the same, with the only difference in the statues at the entrance, you can walk past the one you need three times without finding it.
On the cheerful porter, all the joy of the arrival ended.
We settled on the ground floor and the room was terrible. The shower didn't work, the hose was simply torn off, the bathroom drain was clogged. The electric kettle, when turned on, spat boiling water, and gave out brown water - most likely someone thought of heating the cooled coffee. The safe did not work, the refrigerator did not close. But the air conditioner worked, thanks. In the dark and upset, we went to dinner, but got a little confused. In general, somewhere on the third day, you already orient yourself well, but in the dark I could turn the wrong way for another week.
After eating, we stumbled to the reception, where they promised us to fix everything. Yes, not change the number, but fix it. Here I would like to note about the broad soul of the Dominicans. Reading reviews about this country, I always liked how they spoke about these always dancing, cheerful, benevolent people. So far, only Sri Lankans have been associated with such a description - smiling but unobtrusive kind-hearted people who will always help. The reality about the Dominicans turned out to be much more prosaic. They do not hang in the clouds, and do not smile if you go to a meeting. They are just lazy. If you interfere with their rest, communicate with the staff, if you ask them to do work that they do not want to do, but must, they will look unhappy for a long time and for a long time. And this applies to everyone - boys at the reception, bartenders, waiters, cleaning staff, etc.
We only changed our room the next day, but the new room did not have a kettle. Well, okay, we thought, the main thing here is rest. But...
Due to the meeting with the guide and the change of the number on the beach, we got to about ten. This is not Turkey, we thought naively, there is no need to occupy sun loungers at seven in the morning. But in fact at ten there was not a single free sun lounger on the beach, as well as umbrellas. I had to lie on towels in the shade of a palm tree. And the shadow from the palm tree is very insidious, here it is, and it is no longer there, move two meters.
In general, the biggest disadvantage of this hotel is the ill-conceived infrastructure and bottlenecks. Few sun beds. There are even fewer umbrellas. But our people are not discouraged, and will climb under the already occupied umbrellas. And it is ours. Once a married couple with three young children sat down with us, and then they snorted that my husband dared to smoke close to their children. Well, okay, that's their problem. We, taking into account the joys of the first day, occupied the loungers at half past six - we got just at sunrise and the cleaners. By about seven, the loungers closest to the bars and toilets were occupied, at eight there were no more free ones. And yes, this is not Turkey, your things unattended can go into the pockets of enterprising Haitians.
There are four toilets on the beach. All. For all 4 hotels, for 4 thousand people, there are 4 toilets with three booths, which are cleaned for an hour four times a day. The result is queues. Alternative - run half a kilometer to the room or the sea)))
There are about 5 showers on the beach. While the showers are flattery, they are actually a pole with a faucet. The result is a queue. There is one bartender in the bar. The result is a queue. At breakfasts, one master of pancakes. The finish, a complete collapse of deliberation and the finito la comedy of the vacation, became burritos at one dinner in an ordinary restaurant - there were 3 people in the queue, each took two burritos, and when after 40 minutes the turn came to me, I was very happy with the girl, who with speed snails filled the cakes with three ingredients. And yes, the burrito turned out to be cold.
Although the food is the only thing that really pleases me. Fresh fresh juices for breakfast - starfruit, pineapple, banana, lime with celery, multivitamins. Two racks with omelettes, one with pancakes.
Various meat - beef, chicken, turkey, pork. But there are few fish. In two weeks, there was only one king prawns. No crabs, lobsters, mussels.
Fruits are common - apples, bananas, pineapples, tangerines, mangoes, oranges, pomegranates, peaches, but there were also unusual ones - passion fruit, guava, starfruit, papaya) There was always rice, potatoes, there was a separate rack for spaghetti.
Each table has a card, green on one side and red on the other. Come up and turn it over with the red side, it means that the table is busy.
All drinks are brought by the waiters.
At lunchtime, the main restaurants are closed - there are restaurants on the beach. We found two of them. And the queues for food in them are constant, regardless of the time of visit. But gazpacho is delicious.
The a la carte restaurants are good too. Since we rested for a long time, we went to almost every one. I really liked the restaurant with the Show-Chef, although there was an hour in line, Spanish, in a meat restaurant they carry different types of meat until you put a red sign that you were full. But here is the dresscode - no shorts and pareos.
In bars, pinacolada made of "snow", cubalibra is gorgeous, mojito is sweetish ... And mamahuana is generally lovely, but it's better not to take it home, in stores it is not the same as in bars.
The SportBar is open around the clock, there is pizza, two types of salads, buritas, tacos, chips, nuggets. You can eat, but you don't need to.
The hotel itself is huge. We even went to the so-called closed part, THE ROYAL SUITES 5 *. Nobody drove us out of there. Their beach is fenced off from the side of the hotel - there are different sun loungers.
The SPA area turned out to be very pleasant, there is a long pool with different types of hydromassage. The break is not very convenient, from 13 to 15. Also a rather pleasant place - Bar Hemingway, there is no smoking, there are tables for card games, and in the evenings the guy plays the piano. But it is open only in the evening.
It is better not to go to the gym, the smell of singed rubber and old exercise machines are not encouraging. We sometimes heard animation, but did not see it.
Due to the large size of the hotel, a small train runs there. And although they say that the train runs every 15 minutes, we did not notice this. We didn't skate even once - I didn't want to stand in line.
A separate paragraph to the ocean. How much I've heard about golden beaches and blue water. The color is pleasing to the eye, yes. But near the shore the water is muddy - the sand rises. And then you can not sail further, in about thirty meters there are buoys, for which it is forbidden to swim because of fans of scooters and windsurfing.
Somewhere in the middle of our vacation, my husband and I decided that if we didn't spoil our vacation, no one would spoil it. And they began to close their eyes to the cons, and just relax. But I will tell anyone who is going to this hotel - this hotel is not worth the money that they charge for it. The staff is lazy and boorish, rooms with broken plumbing and a centimeter layer of dust on the closet, the beach is cramped and not equipped for such a number of hotel visitors. And you can eat delicious food at home at restaurants, much cheaper.
Pros - food, spa area, Hemingway bar. Three unfortunate flamingos. Turtles.
Cons - Queues, staff, the game "get up on vacation at seven, take the sunbeds", rooms, infrastructure, and thousands of them !!!

Greetings to all! So my wife and I visited Dominican Republic... (From 02/02/2012 to 02/16/2012) I'll start with the flight, Transaero flew, about 12 hours, fed 2 times, it could have been better and more, but in principle everything suited us, after reading reviews about feeding, we took with us in advance a few butters and fruit, but in general, whoever is not obsessed with food will not die of hunger, and they gave water and juice without problems, then there were monitors on the plane that showed films, cartoons, and what is most interesting is the map location where we fly, the height overboard temperature, speed, distance to Punta Cana and the third channel showed the image from the camera below the plane. ... More ▾ Greetings to all! So my wife and I visited the Dominican Republic. (From 02/02/2012 to 02/16/2012) I'll start with the flight, Transaero flew, about 12 hours, fed 2 times, it could have been better and more, but in principle everything suited us, after reading reviews about feeding, we took with us in advance a few butters and fruits, but in general, whoever is not obsessed with food will not die of hunger, but they gave water and juice without problems, then there were monitors on the plane that showed films, cartoons, and what is most interesting is the cartographic location where we fly, altitude, overboard temperature, speed, distance to Punta Cana and the third channel showed the image from the camera below the plane. The first bright and positive emotions when, when the plane descends, a turquoise coastal braid is visible ... :) After landing, we observe a cheerful airport in the local style, such as huts covered with palm leaves, but then, when all almost 400 people begin to burst and push towards the Stoics a little a little bit sad, well, it doesn't last long, the entire passage through the arrivals area, if not for the crowd, would take a maximum of 5 minutes, it includes a payment of $ 10, passage of 50 meters, showing a receipt, a stamp in the passport and receiving baggage :) Then we went to the desks of tour operators, went to their (Tez Tour) we were asked which hotel we were, after which they said where and what bus to get on, waited fifteen minutes for everyone to get together and set off on a journey that lasted about an hour, although we drove 30 kilometers maximum, from - due to the fact that our hotel (Grand Palladium Punta Cana) was appointed the fourth in a row of arrivals, and each arrival was slowed down for 15 minutes. But it's not scary in front of rest and only positive! There is almost nothing interesting from the bus window, except for a narrow path and forest thickets.
I'll start with the Grand Palladium Punta Cana hotel, I would give the hotel no more than 4, but in general the most important thing is what room and where it is located, we bought the cheapest promo - and we did the right thing, because for $ 100, after a short trade that began with 280 dollars, we were given a room in the fourth building on the second floor of 4128 and as it turned out later this hotel is one of the best options.
The room, of course, is not new, but it is also not absurd, as I read a lot ... everything worked, the contents: a jacuzzi, a shower, a double bed, a TV, a safe, a coffee maker, a hairdryer, an iron, an ironing board, a balcony ... even more ... they clean every day well, regardless of whether or not there is a tip, the minibar is replenished every day, but the cleaning time varied from day to day sometimes in the morning from 8-10, during this period we had breakfast and sat in the internet at the reception. Or in the afternoon at 2 o'clock. In this beautiful country we met three couples from Russia Ira and Michael, Igor and Tanya with Nizhny Novgorod and Zhenya and Olya from Moscow (hello to all of them huge!) We visited their rooms - this is Palace, the neighboring building of Punta Cana, they have about everything the same, the main thing is everything worked and everything was fine with everyone. Well, then the rest itself…. ! ! !
That's great!!! Ocean, something not transmitted, I advise everyone to go there! Especially who does not like the intense heat ... there is always a comfortable temperature, and even if it gets a little hot, you can always swim in the refreshing ocean (water temperature 22-24) in winter, and as locals say in the summer from April 25-27, it never happens again, but again, whoever loves warm water 28-30 is not here. Of the 14 days, there were a couple of cloudy ones and it rained almost every night, but by 10 in the morning nothing reminded of it. The food, in principle, without any special frills, but very good, there were days when in our restaurant ("buffet" or canteen, as we later began to call them) there was not very good assortment, but we did not despair go to the next one and there was always excellent the assortment even at closing, and vice versa ... In general, everything for breakfast is like everywhere else, eggs in any form, cereals, cereals .., ofoshi, fruits (not a very large selection and not super tasty, relative to Thailand, but very much nothing ..), and a couple of days a week dry champagne, I only knew later on which evening I could put pressure on alcohol, since my health would be improved in the morning ... J Lunches also without anything special, a couple of types of meat, not always fried, chicken cutlets, side dishes, pizzas, pastas ... soups, ice cream, cakes ... Well, in the evening it's already interesting, either themed evenings in the same canteens, or ala carte, I'll just tell you not what to do in Marenostrum, but the rest are worth visiting, Japanese is not bad, there is a show chefs, and it's not bad anyway, Brazilian, there is one me catfish fed, pretty good, and most importantly, everything is delicious and fried J, Chinese is not bad, seafood on the shore in Bavaro. You can have a snack around the clock in the sports bar near the Bavaro reception. In general, they shouldn't stay hungry! Unless you are, of course, super-duper gourmets ... then you need to look for a hotel at least 40 thousand more per person. Remember that, in principle, this hotel is not a bad four, although it says 5! From entertainment on site, everything that is written in the hotel description on any website. In the evening, there are various events in the amphitheaters, such as a show of stars, Michael Jackson is what I advise to see, a disco until 2 am. Live music every evening in the lobby. ... It is worth noting their music bachata, merengue, regeton .. (Aventura, Don Omar, Zacarias Ferreira ...) cheerful, simple, not forcing anything ... everything for relaxation J Tranquilo - relaxation in Spanish, something like that, if I didn't mess anything up. Cocktails are not bad in the Hemingway bar on the territory of Bavaro, for me I'm not particularly a fan and understanding of cocktails, in all other bars I was happy with alcohol, the main thing is to explain what and with what proportions to mix. Regarding service, I did not notice any slowness and neglect without teas, everything is quite dignified and fast, with a smile and sometimes dancing and singing J But as for teas, this is such a thing if they get used to them over time, and there it happens , since I myself saw how the guys, just for the fact that they poured a cocktail and gave them 5 and 10 dollars, maybe of course they have money wagons, but I think this is not so, just pathos ... and you can give 1 dollar at a time and then when to your table has already brought something a couple of three times and they understand you well what you need, everything else is worthless. There are few Russian people in the hotel, 10-15 percent of the total number of vacationers, respectively, they do not know Russian, except for a couple of three expressions, but they are already trying to remember what, it is better, of course, to know English, and best of all, at least a little Spanish, but without the language you can ... Internet (Wi-Fi) in the lobby is free, but when there are many who wish, the speed is not very good, and sometimes even 0. Sun loungers on the beach, and we almost always only lay there for days, it is better to take up to 8, 30 later, there may not be places with a shade, this was not a problem for us, since we lived near the beach and we have a difference from our homeland of 13 o'clock J we always woke up at 7 o'clock, and at first it was like that at 3 in the night, and it was cut down at 9 in the evening. In general, the sun loungers themselves can always be found without problems. The bargaining people on the beach did not bother much, if not interested, you simply refuse and they immediately leave. If you meet Sasha, he usually offers fishing near the pool in Punta Cana, hello, tell me, he speaks Russian quite well, and generally a cool guy ... J Regarding excursions, we went to the capital of Santo Domingo with a kick-ass guide Antonina ) she has been living in the Dominican Republic for 33 years, so her stories were very interesting and informative, I advise everyone! Then we drove on ATVs - nothing special, snake one after another at low speed, but I want to drive L, but I don't recommend driving a buggy, you will be covered in mud from head to toe. The rest of the excursions are Saona, Samana…. we left for the next time J Well, like everything I wanted to tell. I advise everyone to visit this wonderful country! I recommend the Palladium hotels. There will be questions, ask ask, I will be glad to tell you what I know.

The hotel is not new, but very cozy, green and large The beginning of the reconstruction of one pool did not bother at all, we did not notice it. The rooms are cleaned well, regardless of whether you tip or not. The food is varied and delicious everywhere. I recommend visiting the Brazilian and Japanese a la carte restaurants. The most delicious cocktails in the bar Hemingway. there is also champagne, cognac. Beautiful evening shows: costumes, dances. The only drawback is that they are conducted in English, Spanish and Fran ... Everywhere there is a friendly, calm atmosphere, everyone smiles, greets each other with their cheerful and kind "ola" .Just visited a fairy tale ...

More ▾ We rested in this hotel in June 2011, with a family, with a child of 10 years old (boy). We flew by Air France. I really liked the flight, despite the fact that it was long and with a transfer, absolutely not tiring, the service from the company is at the highest level, that the food and service, the flights are all on schedule. So the flight back and forth was very easy. They ordered the tickets themselves on the Internet, ordered a children's menu for the child and a seat on the plane. Places got what they ordered. The child was brought a special menu, gorgeous, with fruit, sweets and even small gifts in a big plane to the Dominican Republic from Paris.
I liked the hotel immediately. It was not the most expensive of the proposals in question, the hotels were much more expensive, but this hotel did not disappoint us. Firstly, its very big plus is its large territory. It's even more correct to say huge. For 12 days they did not go around everything. The complex consists of three hotels plus a VIP hotel Royal Suites. The territory and all infrastructure is common for all hotels in the complex, except for the services of the Royal Suites. They have a couple of their own restaurants and bars that guests from other hotels are not allowed to enter. But there and without them enough where to go. A locomotive runs through the complex. If you don't want to walk (although it's also not so far, about 15 minutes to the Bavaro Hotel), then by train you can get anywhere in a couple of minutes.
We lived in the 2000 building. There are euro sockets but the voltage is 110 volts! If you need an adapter, they are sold in any store on the territory of the complex. There were no problems with the settlement. We had a deluxe promo room booked. This is how we learned later the simplest numbers not with the most best location... At first we were settled on the first floor, it is very damp there. At the reception without any problems, within half an hour, we changed the room on the third floor, since there were no second ones, for a not very large additional fee. They have these rooms overlooking the ocean and they charge 15 dollars for it. per day additionally. We changed for half the price and plus another on the next. day, the satisfied manager of the reception gave us a gift - a bottle of rum and fruit. A trifle but nice.
Rooms are good. As for the interior and decoration, in Turkey and Egypt in good hotels the rooms looked richer. But we don't really bother with that. Since we spend little time in the room. Yes, the rooms are not very new. But literally on the second day, you don't pay attention to this, they are spacious and the room has everything you need, including an iron and ironing board and a coffee machine. It is very comfortable. You get up at dawn, drink your morning coffee on the terrace and go to the beach. The mini bar (beer, cola, fanta, sprite and drinking water) is replenished every day, as well as coffee and tea.
The bathroom has a jacuzzi and all the necessary accessories, even disposable razors. There are rooms with a jacuzzi in the room, it is for romantics or newlyweds. Rooms are cleaned well, thorough. Towels are changed every day. It is true that the tip does not affect the quality of cleaning. They will take it away in any case well. We left but not every day. A couple of times we were made beautiful figures from towels. Another distinctive feature of cleaning there is that every day the bathroom is decorated with freshly picked beautiful red flowers.
In the lobby, people leave the books they have read, so if you forget to read, you can always find something to read. There were many books and magazines in Russian.
The hotel itself and the entire complex are located in a tropical garden with coconut trees. You can ask the gardener and he will pick and cut a fresh coconut for $ 1.
The food is just super. Very varied and delicious. They have no shortage of restaurants. We did not manage to visit all the restaurants during our stay. A very nice restaurant next to the pool and the beach for breakfast and lunch. From our building, we went directly to the restaurant, and there you are already practically on the beach. Very comfortably. For dinner we went either to the main restaurant of the Bavaro Hotel, there is much more choice. Or in A la Carte restaurants. Were 2 times in Japanese, eat à la carte, sushi or chef's show, but you have to sign up for it at 6 pm on the same day. They cook very tasty there, and I liked the menu and the chef's show very much. I also recommend the Spanish restaurant, very tasty and exquisite. We celebrated my husband's birthday there, and were very pleased. Were also in Brazilian and Mexican. Brazilian is very tasty and interesting to visit. First you take the appetizer buffet, then the meat service begins. Several types of grilled meats and fish are carried on large skewers in turn. Offer until you turn the card on the table to the red side. This means that you will no longer be meat. Then a menu with desserts is brought. Mexican is good too, Mexican food well cooked, but many of them are spicy. But there is a separate menu for children. Generally, in this hotel you can find dishes for every taste. They even have a Russian salad (akin to Olivier) and, by the way, very good. All types of meat - pork, veal, chicken; fish, seafood, cooked in different forms - and stewed and fried and baked, whatever your heart desires. At the Bavaro hotel for dinner every day a thematic menu - Italian, Spanish, Dominican, International, etc. kitchen. There are always several types of pizza (very tasty) in all restaurants for lunch and dinner.
For breakfast, freshly squeezed juices, including papaya, pineapple, banana, watermelon, melon, mix, and even vegetable juices. They are in decanters, we did not immediately notice them. In addition, the devices also have good juices, orange, and a couple more species, not Yupi! The coffee is poured by the waiters, the coffee is also very tasty. There was no champagne (as read in the reviews before the trip) for breakfast!
Fruits - watermelons, melons, papaya, mango, passion fruit, pineapple. Wine for lunch and dinner is poured from bottles, the wine is very good, Chilean dry, red and white. Delicious beer. I really liked the service in the restaurants. I didn't have time to go to the restaurant, they will immediately come up to you, set the table if there are more people, offer drinks. Restaurants are always full of free tables, everything is always clean, covered and tidied up. When entering restaurants, hands are treated with an anti-material liquid.
It's not a problem to get to Alya Carte restaurants either. There is no pre-registration (except for Japanese at the chef's show). If you arrive before half past seven in the evening, you can always sit down right away. If there are no empty tables, they give a pager that will light up when the table is free. Usually you wait no more than 30-40 minutes. During this time, you can go to a bar and have a cocktail. Everything they have in this regard is very thought out, no excitement and crush. Please note that there is a dress code for dining in restaurants, pants or Bermuda shorts for men are required, shorts are not allowed.
Lobby bars make delicious cocktails. Delicious cocktails with rum, Mojito, banana mama, pina colada are also very popular. Live music every evening in the lobby.
There are kiosks on the beach with drinks and the same cocktails. There is no bar as such to sit at a table, you take drinks to the beach.
There is a kids club and a teen club (called Black and White). The second saved us a lot. There is game rooms (Play Station, Xbox, and other game consoles, a large selection of disc games), there is billiards and tennis. The club is for children from 10 years old, but they are allowed in at 8-9. There are many Russians in this hotel. Our son met Russian boys and they spent the afternoon in this club. There are animators there, for older children, their own, who look after the children and they also play games with them near the pool, sometimes organize competitions. For small children, their own animation, saw a girl on the beach with small children, also worked with them and played. Everyone speaks Spanish or English. But we had no problems with that because we are friends with English.
There is a large sports field, a couple of tennis courts, a football field, volleyball, and small tennis tables.
Very beautiful pond with flamingos near the reception of the Bavaro hotel. There is also a smaller pond to the Palladium Palace.
There is a sports bar, open around the clock, where you can always have a snack or a drink. But we never got to it :) It is located opposite the pond with flamingos on the territory of the Bavaro hotel. There is also a little further if you go through the Club for teenagers about which I wrote. The pools are big, beautiful, but we didn't swim, only the child was running, so I can't say anything.
Nice shows in the evenings. There are two amphitheaters, there is also a bar, waiters go to offer drinks, which is very convenient. And you watch the show and sip a cocktail.
The staff is generally very friendly, everyone smiles, greets. There, the main guarantee of a tourist's success is a smile. If you smile, then you will be greeted with joy. There were a couple of times that they walked in the evening with a child, if electric cars were driving serving Royal Suites or other cars serving the complex, they always stopped and offered a ride.
The animation in this hotel is very good, both on the beach and by the pool. Exercise, dance lessons, volleyball, beach soccer, beach games, competitions are held. Whoever wins during the day in games and competitions, the winners are awarded in the evening before the show in the amphitheater. Adults are given a bottle of rum or coffee, children mostly have caps. My son and I won two times and received coffee and a cap with the hotel logo as a gift.
But the most impressive thing there is the ocean, the beach and very beautiful nature. It's worth going there for that. Due to the time difference, we got up early, were on the beach at seven in the morning or even earlier. In the morning it is especially beautiful, there are almost no people, the ocean is very beautiful, of an extraordinary turquoise color, all this is beautifully combined with a delightful dawn, and small clouds in the sky. The water is very warm. The sand is really white, you walk into the sea like on a carpet. When we were there, there were no waves, the ocean was warm and gentle. Super for kids. Shallow near the beach. So there is where to swim for both adults and children.
The beach is good, there are a lot of sunbeds, but to get a good place in the shade, you need to take sunbeds from early morning. I came at half past six, and the most good places in the shade closer to the ocean were already occupied! Although there you can always find a place and a sunbed, even if you come later. But it will be either the end of the beach or in the sun. The sun is very active, you get sunburn in no time, we took a cream with a protection of 50, did not get sunburned even once and nevertheless sunburned quite well.
As for the time difference, it is very felt, and even by the end of the rest we did not fully adapt. You wake up very early, but by 10 o'clock in the evening you already desperately want to sleep.
The climate there is really very damp, you hang up towels or a wet swimsuit and they don't dry, so you need to take clothes with the expectation that there is less washing.
We were afraid to get into the season of tropical showers which we read about as we were traveling in the summer. We were not very lucky with the weather in the first three days after arrival. It rained quite often and protracted, but as we were told, we got into a cyclone, which came there just a couple of days before our arrival. Three days later the weather improved, it was hot and not a drop dripped. Although even when it rains, it is still warm, and after the rain in a couple of minutes there are no traces of it. Once we waited out such a shower on the beach under an umbrella.
As for excursions and souvenirs, they are all very expensive. Were on the island of Saona, this is in the Caribbean. They promised very much beautiful nature... But we were not particularly impressed, the beach is no worse than in a hotel, And the sea is knee-deep so that you can only plunge into it, it is impossible to swim. Lunch was included, so so. So this excursion is not worth the money.
As for souvenirs, cigars and rum, we read that they are very cheap there, but I would not say that, good cigars and rum are not so cheap there. Although you can bargain with them. Popular souvenirs from the Dominican Republic are rum, cigars, coffee and jewelry made from their national larimar stone.
The only thing that darkened our vacation a little was the loss mobile phone... Lost in the lobby, returned after 15 minutes, and he was gone, nothing was given to the reception and there were no tourists in the lobby at that time. Very strange. We forgot things on vacation more than once, and always found them at the reception without any problems. But the country is poor, and as I understand it, if someone has forgotten something, then the owner of these things is the one who found it. Most likely someone from the staff. So keep an eye on things, don't forget anything. I also heard from people that I read about such cases of theft in this hotel. Although they left an expensive camera on the beach when they went swimming, money and nothing was ever lost. But there are tourists, many foreigners who usually never take anything. But in any case, you need to be on the lookout.
Nevertheless, we were very pleased with the rest. This is a country where you want to return, because the nature and views there are indescribably beautiful, you feel as if you are in paradise. Upon arrival home, the negativity faded away, but the nostalgia for the Dominican Republic remained. Next year, if we succeed, we will go again, although we try not to go to the same place twice. As for the hotel, I would love to have a rest there again. Moreover, there are still many places where we have not had time to visit. So if you choose this hotel, I think you will be satisfied. All a pleasant stay and positive emotions.
