Rossiya Airlines strives to avoid situations with untimely baggage delivery and does everything possible to return your belongings as soon as possible. For this, the airline uses the international automated baggage tracing system World Tracer, which allows tracking the movement of luggage left behind by the passenger around the world.

If your baggage has not arrived, you must immediately contact the baggage tracing officer before leaving the arrivals area to fill out the necessary documents. Upon arrival of your baggage at the destination airport, we will contact you and arrange for its delivery.

Search lost baggage made within 21 days from the date of receipt of the application from the passenger. If after 21 days the baggage is not found, the passenger can submit a written claim to the carrier. The decision on monetary compensation and its amount is taken on the basis of the provisions contained in the Air Code of the Russian Federation, the Warsaw Convention and the airline's regulatory documents.

Almost all RusLine customers take their baggage with them, which is carried on board the airliner or in a special compartment of the airliner after check-in. The main problem of passengers, as a rule, is ignorance of the basic rules and norms of baggage transportation, which is why difficulties arise - flight delays, the need for additional costs and even a refusal to provide transportation services. To avoid such situations, you should carefully study the instructions on the website and follow the carrier's requirements. Below we will consider the intricacies of baggage transportation in RusLine and everything connected with it.

Baggage allowance

The first thing to do is to study the standards established by RusLine. Each passenger has the right to transport a certain amount of things without the need for additional payment.

The rate depends on a number of factors:

  • Aircraft type.
  • Service class.
  • Tariff.
  • Flight directions.

Thus, the baggage allowance of RusLine in relation to transfer and direct flights is set taking into account the seat. In the case of booking tickets for a group of passengers (PNR), for example, members of the same family, permissible weight can be summed up. The main thing is that the total weight of the cargo does not exceed 20 kg per piece. For each subsequent seat, the client must pay separately.

It should be noted that the baggage allowance on RusLine aircraft does not include a whole group of things, namely, heavy cargo (from 32 kg and more), tape recorder, TV, video equipment, camera and other equipment weighing 10 kg or more. Also, greens, plants, seedlings or branches weighing 5 kg or more are not included in free baggage.

Baggage allowances at RusLine Airlines:

  • For carry-on luggage- 115 cm (by the sum of 3 measurements) and 5 kg.
  • For baggage requiring check-in- 203 cm (by the sum of 3 measurements) and 10 kg.

For booking subclasses of type S, Y, Z, H, B, K, the possibilities are higher. For cargo carried in a special compartment, a weight equal to 20 kg or two pieces of 10 kg each is allowed.

As noted, the rate is calculated taking into account the rules of the airline, fare and class of service. At the same time, in some cases, the permissible baggage weight for RusLine aircraft is higher and amounts to 20 kg. In the event of a decrease or increase in the class, the carrier's client has the right to transport the goods at the rate specified in the ticket.

In addition to free baggage, a stroller can be carried if there is a passenger with a child under 2 years of age on board. In this case, a child's vehicle must be weighed and registered in accordance with all the rules. Similar requirements apply to a wheelchair when flying on board a disabled person. Weighing and fixing of tags is also obligatory here.

Baggage rules

The next point that RusLine passengers need to take into account is the baggage rules. More accurate information is given on the official website, but we will consider the most important points below.

The basic rules of transportation include:

  • Cargo weighing 50 kg and more must be processed taking into account the rules of freight traffic.
  • Baggage is checked in and checked directly at the airport from where it is dispatched.
  • All things that are planned for carriage on board an airliner or in a special compartment must be presented at the check-in stage. The seats are marked with a special paper tag and then transported in the luggage compartment. This is done to ensure maximum flight safety.
  • Combining 2 or more items that have individual packaging is unacceptable.

The rules for the carriage of baggage by RusLine prohibit taking on board any cargo that is dangerous for passengers and crew. It is not allowed to transport items that are prohibited by the laws of the country or current regulations. In addition, the transportation of goods is excluded, which, according to the airline, are dangerous due to increased weight or out of acceptable dimensions. In order to avoid incomprehensible situations, it is advisable to agree in advance on the possibility of transporting oversized or heavy cargo with the carrier.

In addition, the rules prohibit the transportation of money, jewelry, precious metals, fragile items, passports, business papers, medicines and other things that are stipulated in the rules as checked baggage. If the passenger ignored the ban, the airline is not responsible for items from this list.

The cost of carriage of baggage in RusLine

If the transported cargo by the number of places, by weight or dimensions does not correspond to the approved standards (mentioned above), you will have to pay for transportation.

Baggage cost in RusLine:

  • For one piece of excess cargo, not exceeding 10 kg in weight and having dimensions up to 203 cm, you will have to pay extra. Here the tariffs are as follows - 2000 rubles. (for direct flight), 3000 rubles. (for transfer flights) and € 30 for international flights.
  • For the second piece of cargo, the weight of which is not more than 10 kg, and the size does not exceed 203 cm, you will also have to pay a surcharge. Here the cost is as follows - 3000 rubles. (for a direct flight), 4000 rubles. (for transfer flights) and 50 euros for international flights.

If the weight is exceeded, you will have to pay for an increase up to 10 kg as for one place, and for an increase from 11 to 20 kg, as for two.

According to law Order of the Ministry of Transport of Russia dated June 28, 2007 No. 82 (as revised on January 14, 2019) "On approval of the Federal Aviation Regulations' General rules for air transportation of passengers, baggage, cargo and requirements for servicing passengers, consignors, consignees" "(registered with the Ministry of Justice of Russia on September 27 .2007 No. 10186)
at any Russian airline you can carry up to 5 kg of items on board for free. There are carriers that allow you to take 10 or 15 kg.

Typically than more expensive ticket, the more things you can carry in the cabin. Usually one piece of carry-on baggage is provided for flights in economy class, and two for business class. But here everything depends on the carrier: some companies have their own standards for each tariff, direction, aircraft, while others have a single standard for everyone.

Dimensions are not specified in the law, so here each carrier can establish its own rules. Usually, bags with a size of 55 × 40 × 20 cm or with the sum of three dimensions equal to 115 cm are allowed on board. Such a suitcase will fit on the overhead rack along with other passengers' carry-on luggage.

You can also take a handbag, a briefcase or a backpack with things in excess of the norm. It is assumed that you will place them under the seat in front, so the allowed weight and dimensions may be less than for carry-on baggage. For example, up to 3 kg and no more than 80 cm in the sum of three dimensions.

Carefully read the rules on the company's website: if the weight is not indicated there free luggage above the norm, check it on the website or by phone.

Also, instead of an additional bag, briefcase or backpack, you can take for free:

  • bouquet of flowers;
  • outerwear;
  • baby food for the child during the flight;
  • suit in a garment bag (specify weight and dimensions);
  • a device for carrying a child (cradle, chair, stroller) - provided that you are flying with a child and can fit these things on a shelf or under the seat;
  • medicines, special dietary needs in the amount required for the duration of the flight;
  • crutches, walking sticks, walkers, rollators, a folding wheelchair, if you can fit them in the cabin on a shelf or under the seat;
  • goods from Duty Free, if they fit in weight and dimensions and are sealed in a sealed bag (specify weight and dimensions).

As a general rule of thumb, whatever you are going to take to the salon should fit on a shelf or under a seat. Ask the carrier in advance what amount of hand luggage in excess of the norm he will allow you to carry.

How carry-on baggage is checked at the airport

If your carry-on baggage looks bulky, it will be weighed at the airport and its dimensions will be checked using a special frame. This is a plastic container or two walls in which your suitcase should fit. In this case, everything should fit, including handles and wheels.

To avoid having to pay extra for carry-on luggage, choose soft bags or a backpack with drawstring straps that reduce the size of an already packaged travel accessory.
