Shukro Yusof, a spokesman for Malaysian aviation consultancy Endau Analytics, said Monday's plane crash is further evidence of the dire state of aviation security in Indonesia. He told the South China Morning Post that Indonesian aviation "needs serious assistance from aviation professionals and experts." “It seems that the country cannot solve its problems on its own,” he added.

The previous major plane crash took place in Indonesia in December 2014 - then a liner of the budget airline AirAsia, en route from the city of Surabaya to Singapore, crashed there. The plane crash then killed 162 people.

Former military pilot Alexei Vlasov believes that when clarifying the reasons for this crash, first of all, two versions will be considered: pilot error, the second and equipment failure. “The second can be associated with blockage of the pressure maintenance system (full pressure receivers - Gazeta.Ru),” the expert explained to Gazeta.Ru. "The situation is very similar to the An-148 disaster at Domodedovo, when the crew did not turn on the RPM heating: the airspeed indicator began to show its fall, and the plane was accelerated into a dive until they entered the ground." Aleksey Vlasov also suggests that a fire could have occurred on board, as a result of which smoke in the cockpit made it impossible to make an emergency landing on the water. “As soon as the black boxes are found, a lot will become clear,” concluded the expert. "You also need to look at the scattering of the wreckage: you can use them to determine how the plane fell and make some assumptions."

The British edition of the Daily Mail told about one of the government officials who was supposed to fly on flight JT-610 with colleagues, but was late for the airport due to traffic jams. Sonya Setiavan, an employee of the Ministry of Finance, took another flight to Pankalpinang. At the airport, he was immediately surrounded by journalists.

There were two foreigners aboard the crashed Indonesian plane. In addition to pilot Bhavye Suneyi, an Indian citizen, an unnamed Italian citizen flew on JT-610.

The families of the victims of the Boeing 737 crash will be paid compensation in the amount of more than $ 3 thousand, the Jakarta Post writes, referring to the state insurance company Jasa Raharja.

Meanwhile, Lion Air has suspended negotiations on the acquisition of Boeing 737 Max 8. They are frozen pending a final report from investigators who are studying the circumstances of the crash.

“During the previous flight, the airliner had technical malfunctions, although it was produced only two months ago. We are suspending negotiations with Boeing on an order for the purchase of ten 737 airliners from the Max program, ”the carrier said in a statement.

In the last six years alone, Indonesia has experienced eight major plane crashes, killing about 600 people. “Indonesia can be compared to African countries in terms of flight safety and training. I worked both there and in Indonesia, and I know very well what the level of technical and flight training is there, "- Honored Pilot of Russia Viktor Sazhenin told 360.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, since 2011, Lion Air pilots have been repeatedly convicted of drug use. So, in December 2017, the police detained one of them at the hotel, where the pilot was found to have illegal drugs. Subsequently, tests showed that the day before the scheduled flight, he was taking drugs.

“The current tragedy negates all the safety achievements that Lion Air may have had in recent times", - the newspaper writes.

Since 2002, Lion Air, whose plane crashed in Indonesia, has had more than ten accidents. Until now, the tragedy of 2004 was considered the largest. Then the airliner rolled out of the runway and crashed into a cemetery located near the airport. As a result, 31 people died.

In 2013, a Lion Air plane carrying more than a hundred passengers fell into the water near Bali airport. The liner body collapsed into two parts. As a result, 46 people were injured. It was later revealed that the incident was due to a pilot error.

Boeing 737 captain Bhavye Suneya, who is an Indian citizen, had more than 6,000 hours of flying experience, and the co-pilot more than 5,000 hours, according to Lion Air.

Rescuers do not plan to raise Boeing 737 to the surface. According to the deputy head of the national rescue agency, Surio Aji, the plane is at a depth of 30-35 meters. Divers are working there now.

“The priority remains the evacuation of the victims of the crash, as well as the search for flight recorders. On this moment the issue of raising the aircraft to the surface is not being considered, ”he said.

Rescuers found a children's backpack and shoes on the surface of the water. According to preliminary data, there were three children on board the Boeing 737 Max 8.

Australian officials were banned from flying with Lion Air following a plane crash in Indonesia. This was reported on the website of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. “The decision will be reviewed after receiving detailed results of the investigation into the crash,” the department said.

Smartphones, several identity cards, bank books and driving documents were also found at the crash site, according to the agency. Flight recorders have not yet been found.

All 189 people on board the Boeing 737 were killed. This was stated by a representative of the Indonesian Emergency Management Agency, writes Associated Press.

According to the latest data, rescuers managed to find six bodies of passengers who died in the plane crash. They were delivered to the port of Tanjung Priok, a representative of the Indonesian Emergency Management Agency told RIA Novosti.

Boeing made its first flight of the new generation in January 2016. MAX received a commercial permit in March 2017. At the moment, more than a hundred airliners have already been produced.

In Russia, the Boeing 737 MAX was delivered for the first time to S7 Airlines - the carrier purchased 11 aircraft of this type. Just over a week ago, the company announced that the airliner would be based in Novosibirsk and operate flights to Moscow and Chita.

UTair will be another MAX operator. In 2019, the carrier will receive 30 aircraft of this generation.

The crash of the Lion Air Boeing 737 MAX 8 was the first for this generation of aircraft. They began to be supplied to carriers quite recently.

MAX uses 14% less fuel than the Boeing 737 Next-Generation series. It also reduces the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere and has a smaller noise footprint.

The Indonesian authorities have not yet announced the cause of the crash. “The plane is so modern that it transmitted all the data, we will also study it. However, the most important thing is a black box, ”said the head of the Committee transport security Indonesia Sorianto Thyahyono.

According to the CEO of Lion Air Group, Edward Sirait, boeing 737 MAX 8 experienced technical problems earlier - during a flight from Bali to Jakarta. He noted that all problems were promptly eliminated.

Sirait refused to name the cause of the malfunctions, noting that similar problems were not noticed in other aircraft of the airline. Lion Air operates 11 Boeing 737 MAX 8 airliners. The carrier does not plan to abandon them. The plane that crashed off the coast of Java has been flying since August, the CEO said.

Twitter user Gus Ahn talked about how his friend canceled flight JT610 a few days ago due to changes in his work schedule. During lunch, he showed his friend his boarding pass.

The plane almost immediately requested an emergency landing, so most likely there was an emergency on board, said Major General, Honored Military Pilot of Russia Vladimir Popov.

“Or refusals developed aviation technology, and it was clear that it was almost impossible to continue the flight. In Indonesia, the meteorological conditions may be very difficult, there may be rains and fogs. All this could somehow affect flight safety, ”he told Sputnik radio.

According to FlightRadar24, the first problems on board the Boeing 737 were recorded two minutes after takeoff, when it reached an altitude of 610 meters. Then the airliner descended 150 meters, turned to the left and again climbed up - already to an altitude of 1.5 km, where it remained for most of the flight. Before the plane disappeared from radar, it picked up a speed of 345 knots. Communication with the liner was lost while it was at an altitude of 1.1 km.

Russian President Vladimir Putin also expressed his condolences to Indonesian leader Joko Widodo. “Russia shares the grief of those who lost their loved ones in this catastrophe, and wishes them courage and fortitude in such a difficult hour,” the president's telegram says.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo made a televised address expressing his condolences to the families of those killed in the plane crash. “In the morning I gave the order to immediately conduct an investigation and rescue operations. I deeply worry about the families of the victims, but we hope that they will remain calm while the search and rescue teams are working at the crash site, ”he said.

The emergency response agency is interviewing the family and friends of the deceased passengers on the airliner, reporter Simon Rugnin said on Twitter.

Rescuers found an exploded fuel tank at the crash site, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Emergency Management Agency (Basarnas). "The fuel tank was found broken and blown up, it is leaking," the agency's interlocutor said.

The body of the first victim was found, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the national agency for overcoming the emergency.

According to Reuters, 23 Indonesian government officials were on board.

The Boeing 737 MAX 8, which Lion Air acquired in August 2018, is the base model of the new generation of Boeing 737 MAX medium-range passenger aircraft. It is an improved model, powered by new CFM International LEAP-1B engines, improved wing and fuselage designs. Commercial operation of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft began in May 2017.

So far, it is known that the weather at the time of the flight was favorable.

The reasons for the plane crash remain to be seen. The head of the Indonesian Transportation Security Committee told Reuters that it is necessary to wait for the decryption of the data of the black box, which has yet to be found. Investigators will comprehensively study the recordings of conversations in the cockpit, data from the air traffic control service, analyze the experience of the pilots (the airline claims that the first and second pilots flew 11 thousand hours in total) and the technical condition of the aircraft.

Death selfies. It has frightened Boeing 737 passengers in oxygen masks. Later it will become known that, according to various sources, there were from 185 to 189 people on board. The liner disappeared from radar 10 minutes after takeoff. There are no survivors, all the passengers of the Boeing 737 were killed\u200d. Dry official report - everything that is known about the Indonesian tragedy.

So far there are more questions than answers. And the main one is: what happened to the liner, the flight of which from Jakarta to Sumatra was interrupted in the Java Sea?

Saving the lives of 189 people, the crew of the Indonesian Boeing tried to return to the airport. Photos and videos from the crash site The Boeing crew, which crashed into the sea 13 minutes after takeoff, requested an emergency landing from the controllers.

An exclusive commentary on the TV channel "Tsargrad" honored Pilot of the USSR, Chairman of the Commission on civil aviation Public Council of Rostransnadzor Oleg Smirnov :

“The catastrophe in Indonesia took place in simple weather conditions - nature did not threaten the liner. However, the plane was not where it should be, but at the bottom of the ocean. The plane took off, and almost immediately after takeoff, the commander of the ship informed the ground about his decision to return back to Jakarta, to the departure airport. The ship commander makes such decisions when there is no way to continue the flight. Obviously, everything happened so quickly and catastrophically that the commander of the ship did not have even a split second to press the button of the radio transmitter to report the emergency situation. "

What happened to the plane near Java remains a tragic mystery. Boeing 737 MAX 8 is a completely new airliner, the plane crash in Indonesia was its first. Operation of the winged aircraft began just a year ago. Since then, many countries of the world, including Russia, have lined up to acquire it.

Mr. Smirnov believes that the malfunction of a flight vessel is the least likely version of the tragedy. “The plane is the most complicated mechanism. He, of course, may have some drawbacks. But this plane is new, it has been in operation since August - a very young aircraft, ”the pilot said. - The liner took into account the shortcomings of all previous models: it became more economical and, importantly, safer. Many airlines around the world want to buy it. Indonesians were among the first. "

Shadow boxing: who will be taken away from?

Later, information appeared that fuel tanks with traces of an explosion were found at the site of the tragedy. However, there is no official confirmation of this yet. Moreover, Oleg Smirnov called the behavior of the Indonesians mysterious. The reason why the captain of the ship decided to return to the airport of departure is hiding from the general public.

“Indonesia is behaving very interestingly,” the expert noted. - She said that the commander of the ship contacted them to make a decision to return to Jakarta after takeoff, but no one explains what motivated the commander of the ship for this return. The commander is obliged to inform the ground of the reasons for the decision to return to the airport of departure. Why they are silent is not clear. One can only speculate. It could be an explosion, a terrorist attack. Indonesia is not a very calm place. "

Flight recorders should shed light on the tragedy. It is known that the depth at which the liner is located is small - 30-40 meters, which means that it will not be difficult for the divers working at the scene to find the "black boxes".

The tragedy in the Java Sea once again makes one wonder how safe aviation is today. Our country can hardly be classified among the most accident-free states. The extreme and, as one would like to believe, the last Russian aviation tragedy occurred on February 11. An-148-100V passenger aircraft russian airline Saratov Airlines, which operated the Domodedovo - Orsk flight, crashed four minutes after takeoff in the Ramensky district of the Moscow region. Everyone on board died - 65 passengers and 6 crew members.

Probably a terrorist attack: Fuel tank of plane crashed in Indonesia found with explosion marks None of the passengers and crew members of the Lion Air Boeing 737 that fell into the Java Sea survived.

Later, experts from the Interstate Aviation Committee came to the conclusion that the crash was caused by incorrect data on the flight speed that the crew received. There were other air accidents, which miraculously did not end with the death of people. Honored pilot of the USSR Oleg Smirnov recalled them: “This year we have been unlucky. And we have a catastrophe, and very serious incidents in Sochi and Yakutia. These are events that only accidentally did not end in tragedy. We were lucky both in Sochi and in Yakutia - the planes were destroyed, and all the passengers, fortunately, were alive. I hope that these events will force our government agencies to pay close attention to the issues of aviation security. "

Government agencies have something to pay close attention to. Almost all liners of domestic airlines are registered not in Russia, but in Bermuda. Moreover, it is Bermuda that approves the work of Russian pilots.

Told about it flight director utair Airlines Andrey Sitnyansky : “If you are flying by plane, pay attention to the tail number. It usually says VP-B, VQ-B which means Bermuda registration. Russia is responsible for pilot training, but after we have checked the pilot and hired him, we must request a Bermuda validation, and Bermuda approves the hiring of a Russian pilot in the Russian company. "

The main reason why airlines register liners in Bermuda is tax savings, and significant at that. But it is tied to the safety of passengers, industry experts remind. First deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Industry Vladimir Gutenyov in an interview with the TV channel "Tsargrad" he said that the responsibility for the airworthiness of the liners is borne not by the government of Russia, but by the government of Bermuda.

But carriers, like the domestic cabinet, are hardly worried about this. Nobody is going to reduce taxes. At least native producers may not count on this. “When we say, this is our aviation industry, we support it, so let's at least make equal conditions,” Mr. Gutenev is indignant. “Our manufacturer, when launching a plane into the sky, pays VAT, and a company that registers a liner in Bermuda and takes it on an operating or financial lease does not pay VAT.”

Rosstat again caught on fraud with the income of citizens

And this is not all the curtsey to foreign aircraft manufacturers. From year to year, the Russian government zeroes import duties for foreign aircraft. That is why domestic carriers are diligently equipped with American and French winged vehicles. The endless statements about support for the Russian aircraft industry look like a mockery against this background.

No matter how high-quality the MS-21 turns out, if the airlines don't buy it, the matter will burn out. And the verbal interventions of officials, who, by the way, themselves prefer to fly on ultra-reliable ILs, will remain just another fiction put on the text of public statements. The tragedy that occurred near the island of Java, which killed almost 200 people, is another reason to think about the safety of air travel, primarily in Russia. After all, in terms of the number of plane crashes, our country is the alarming second in the world.

Chronicle of the plane crash Boeing 737-800 "Lion Air" off the coast of Indonesia

Passenger airliner Boeing 737-800, owned by the Indonesian airline Lion Air, took off from International airport Jakarta at 23 hours 20 minutes. There were no problems with takeoff, however, during the climb, the crew demanded from the air traffic controllers the possibility of making an emergency landing due to technical problems.

When approaching a turn, the plane suddenly disappeared from the air traffic controllers' radars, and the crew members stopped communicating.

In total, the aircraft remained in the air for about 13 minutes, which indicates that the problem that manifested itself was of an extreme nature.

Later, having arrived at the alleged crash site of a Boeing 737-800 passenger airliner, rescuers found the wreckage of an aircraft off the west coast of Java.

Preliminary versions of the crash of the Boeing 737 "Lion Air" in Indonesia

Experts who have already begun to investigate the plane crash are considering several versions of the tragedy, however, according to experts and analysts, the fault is, of course, a technical malfunction.

Engine failure

The version with the engine failure began to be considered by specialists investigating the plane crash with the participation of a Boeing 737 in Indonesia almost immediately. According to some information, when requesting the possibility of an emergency landing from air traffic controllers, the pilot of the crashed airliner said that the main problem was the disrupted operation of one of the engines.

Experts do not exclude that at the time of climb, a bird completely got into the engine of a passenger airliner, which disabled it, but this version has not yet been officially confirmed.

Control system failure

In addition to the version with engine failure, experts do not exclude that the failure of the control system could also be the culprit. This is primarily due to the fact that after a request for an emergency landing, the crew began to turn the aircraft, but the aircraft was never able to go on a return course, having crashed several kilometers from the west coast of Java.

Victims and injuries in the plane crash in Indonesia on October 29, 2018

According to data that appeared in various sources, on board the crashed passenger airliner could be from 178 people ("The Straits Times") to 189 people ("Detik"). Due to the fact that rescuers found a large number of debris at the crash site, the likelihood that any of the passengers and crew members on board could survive is extremely small.

Nevertheless, experts draw attention to the fact that due to the relative proximity of the wreck to the coast of Java Island, there is still a chance that someone on board will be able to escape.

At the moment, rescuers are conducting search operations at the crash site, however, except for the first victims of the tragedy, no survivors could be found.
