How profitable it is to fly. Tickets for the same train often differ in cost. According to the established rules of Russian Railways, they do not have a constant price and are regularly recalculated. How to buy the cheapest flights online

Tatiana Andropova

flies about 15 times a year

Flying by plane is not a cheap pleasure. But there are a lot of ways to save on air tickets.

There are different opinions about how long it is more profitable to buy air tickets. Some advise to do this as early as possible, some - 3-4 months in advance. But the company Aviasales decided not to guess and conducted a study analyzing the results of their search in hundreds of directions. And here's what happened:

It turns out that if you are flying in Russia or Europe, it is better to wait. Some airlines even specifically cut prices less than a day before departure in order to fill all the seats in the cabin. Although if you wait until the last, then there may not be any places for you at all, so it's better not to risk so much.

But it is better to buy tickets to Asia and America as early as possible. Usually, air tickets appear in booking systems 330 days before departure, that is, 11 months. So you can make a purchase right away if you are sure that you will fly.

The air ticket price depends, among other things, on the day of the week on which the flight is scheduled.

It is generally accepted that the lowest cost is for flights on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. It is on these days that a decline in passenger traffic is observed. Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday are traditionally the busiest days. The same rule applies to holidays.

We decided to check this statement and analyzed the average airfare prices for 267 destinations throughout the year. And in general, everything came together:

So it's better to plan the start of your vacation on Tuesday-Wednesday.

Low-cost airlines are airlines that sell tickets at very low prices and provide a minimum of free service. Food on board, baggage allowance, seat selection and other services are chargeable. This option is suitable for those who travel "light", that is, without luggage and with a minimum hand luggage.

Here is a list of popular low-cost airlines:

  • Victory;
  • Easy Jet;
  • Vueling;
  • Ryanair;
  • WizzAir;
  • AirAsia;
  • Jetstar.

Charters are non-scheduled flights that are usually ordered by tour operators. Most often sold as part of travel packages, but sometimes tour operators sell them separately at attractive prices.

You can identify charters in the search results on Aviasales by the corresponding inscription opposite the name of the airline:

Pros of charter:

    Low cost, especially if you buy a ticket the day before departure.

    Charters operate non-stop.

    They fly in rare directions (for example, Moscow-Innsbruck, Tyumen-Antalya).

    Tickets cannot be bought in advance, they are "thrown" into the booking system a few days before departure.

    Frequent delays.

    Fixed dates.

Fly with transfers

Sometimes connecting flights can be cheaper than direct flights, especially over long distances.

Stopover is the same transplant, only lasting more than 24 hours.

On Aviasales, such tickets can be found using the "Composite Route" functionality on the main page:

  1. The opportunity to visit another country during the trip.

    Sometimes the airline has to pay extra for the stopover.

    Not all carriers allow a stopover.

    You need to collect your luggage upon transfer.

Fly at night

For night flights (somewhere from 0 to 6 hours), carriers usually set minimum prices. The reason for this is the low passenger traffic.

    Planes often fly half empty at night.

    You can safely walk around the airport (go to duty-free, for example), because there are almost no passengers.

  1. Getting to the airport at night is difficult.

In some cases, you can save money by choosing a neighboring city as the point of departure or destination.

For example, here are the search results for tickets from Moscow to Pattaya:

Most cheap ticket will cost 22 330 rubles, and even with two transfers. Now let's try to look for a ticket for the same day to Bangkok.

14 938 rubles for a ticket with one stop or 16 505 rubles for a direct flight.

From Bangkok to Pattaya can be reached by bus in 2-3 hours, and it will cost a maximum of 200 rubles. Not a bad savings.

Non-refundable air tickets are those for which, upon voluntary return you can't get money. They are cheaper than usual, but you should buy them only when you are 100% sure that you will fly regardless of the circumstances.

You can find out if a ticket is non-refundable on the purchase page. For example, here is a screenshot from the Utair airline website:

More information in the article.

A round-trip ticket will be cheaper than two separate ones. The fact is that airlines mainly operate reversal flights. And by selling return tickets, the airline frees itself from additional search for customers.

It is better to buy such tickets immediately, because return tickets at a low price may not be available later. This option is suitable for travelers who are confident that their plans will not change.

Are you looking for cheap flights and wasting a lot of time ?! Here are some important tips that will really save you time, hassle and money.

1. Search for tickets on the Internet in “incognito” mode

Have you noticed that during the search, the price of the same flight changes several times, and in big side? This is a trick of many search engine sites. By using a cookie in your browser, the site increases the price of flights that you have searched for several times so that you can quickly decide on a purchase. Therefore, always search for the necessary flights in the "incognito" or private tab to see the lowest prices. Your old cookies are not used in the private browser tabs, so there will be no increase in ticket prices. Cookies are cleared every time you open a private tab. Therefore, in order to start each search for air tickets from scratch, close all incognito windows, then open a new one and start searching.

2. Use the best search engines

Another way to save on air tickets is to use aggregator sites. Modern air ticket aggregators present offers from hundreds of airlines from around the world, including low-cost low-costers and even charter flights... Airlines often offer aggregator customers lower fares (to actively attract new customers). Some of the most famous aggregators are Aviasales, Tutu.ru, Ozon travel, City.Travel.

In 2018, most of the low-cost airlines will also appear in broad search engines (aggregators). Nevertheless, do not forget about the targeted search for cheap air tickets on the very websites of low-cost airlines, sometimes there are promotional tickets there.

It is best to check prices for a specific flight in each (!) search engine (aggregator) to find the best deal.

3. Early booking of tickets

If you already know for a few months when and where you can fly, do not miss the opportunity to save on air tickets. Most companies offer tickets at basic fares several months before departure and are gradually increasing prices. The fewer tickets remain, the higher the prices.

4. Search for charter flights

A great way to save money on flights is to search for cheap flights on special services, where travel agencies dump their unsold charters.

Charters are a flight by a special order of a tour operator, it is irregular, departs at a specific date and time, which can easily be changed on the day of departure, you need to be ready for this.

Tickets for these flights can be found on the websites:

  • chartex.ru
  • tourdom.ru
  • aviacharters.ru

5. Use loyalty systems of airlines or airline alliances

Almost every major airline there is a similar program. It is relevant for those who always use the services of the same airline. For each flight you earn miles, which you can accumulate and buy tickets for, or use the company's privileges (business class flights, comfortable lounges, buying various goods for miles, etc.)

The most famous in Russia:

  • Aeroflot Bonus
  • Lufthansa Miles & More
  • S7 Priority
  • Miles & Smiles

Here's a quick guide on how to earn and use miles:

  1. Register for the loyalty program on the airline's website. We also recommend subscribing to the newsletter in order not to miss various special offers and news about bonus system... Typically, you will receive a plastic mileage card.
  2. Show this card at the airport at check-in for every flight. In some companies, miles can also be credited after the flight through the airline's website or app.
  3. Many airline loyalty programs are affiliated with bank partner programs, including debit cards. This way, you can earn double miles on a single flight. Also, with the help of such debit cards, you can save miles for the most common purchases in stores.
  4. The more miles - the higher the status. Comfortable waiting rooms, a separate transfer to the plane, an increased baggage allowance, the ability to exchange an economy class ticket for a business one, etc. become available to you.
  5. Stay tuned for special offers, some flights will help you earn 2 or 3 times more miles.

6. Buy tickets with transfers

Typically, these tickets are cheaper with regular airlines. The logic is simple - everyone loves direct flights and therefore buys them more willingly. That is why a direct flight will a priori be sold more expensive. For example, a Moscow-Berlin or Moscow-Vienna flight will cost more than a Moscow-Vienna-Berlin flight.

In addition, there is a monopoly on many direct flights. Thus, only Aeroflot and the airline of the country of destination are entitled to make direct flights from Moscow. But connecting flights many airlines have the right to perform, and here the struggle for the client is already beginning.

If you need to fly to Paris, for example, look for a flight connecting through Paris. Moscow-Paris will be more expensive than Moscow-Paris-Rome. However, be careful in this case! Your trip will end in Paris, but your luggage can easily fly to Rome, so such trips are suitable for travelers with hand luggage.

If you travel frequently by air, be sure to purchase a debit card where cashback is refunded in miles. This is really very convenient and, most importantly, profitable.

You can see debit cards of Alfa-Bank (now they are the most profitable and popular). For example, with an AlfaTravel debit card, the cashback in miles can be up to 9%. And in the premium version - up to 11%. Miles can be spent on buying tickets for ANY airline and, by the way, the accumulated miles never expire, even if you have not used them for a long period. In addition to remuneration in miles, the bank provides the possibility of free internet in roaming, free cash withdrawals and much more.

The Travel debit card from Otkritie Bank will be no less beneficial for travelers. Among its advantages: a good welcome bonus, 4.5% on the account balance, a refund of up to 4 rubles for every 100 rubles spent, etc. Well, if you are not yet familiar with the topic of debit cards, we recommend reading our article

Want to know how to fly anywhere in the world with minimal cost? Today we will consider 11 ways to save at least a few thousand rubles on the purchase of air tickets. If you love to travel, be sure to check them out.

Choose the right time to buy

Experts assure that the most advantageous offers are found when buying tickets 3 or 12 months before the scheduled date. You can place an order on the eve of departure, but do not place high hopes on this option. Because not all companies are throwing away "last minute" tickets.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday are busy days for flights, so the cost rises. Try to plan your trip so that the departure date is early or mid-week. Don't rule out overnight flights as this is another way to keep costs down. For example, a morning flight from Sochi to Krasnoyarsk (1 transfer, economy class) costs 40,300 rubles. The night flight costs 27,400 rubles. You can save RUB 12,900.

Tip: Travelers find it easier to buy inexpensive air ticket on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday.

Remember that “in season” holidays are always more expensive. Before planning your trip, find out more about the destination of interest. It is more profitable to fly to some countries in winter, and to others in summer. Use a calendar low prices.

Become invisible

Interesting fact: the cost of the ticket depends on geographic location passenger. And also the device from which he enters the search system. It is believed that wealthier people buy Apple products. Therefore, if you log in through such a device, you will see more unpleasant prices than if you were using a regular PC or Android. You need to make sure that the system cannot recognize your data.

There are two ways to become invisible:

  1. Enter the site in "incognito" mode (available in modern browsers). This feature allows you to hide your computer data and request history. It opens easily, including by a key combination. For example, for Google Chrome, use Ctrl + Shift + N shortcut.
  2. Use anonymizers HideMe, TunnelBear. This is another trick to help hide user information. The software can be installed on a tablet and mobile phones... The service is free of charge.

Use ticket search engines

There are many websites on the internet to find cheap plane tickets. The advantage is that the system automatically finds the best deals. Your task is to make a choice and fill in all the fields correctly.

List of popular search engines:

  • Biletexpert.ru;
  • Aviasales.ru.

These internet services are simple and intuitive; you don't need to be an advanced PC user. When entering the main page, specify the initial data (from where, where, when). The search takes 1-2 minutes. The tickets found are relevant. When you find a suitable air ticket, you can place an order. Usually, ticket search engines redirect the visitor to the desired site, so they do not take a commission. But still, be careful.

Travel through low-cost airlines

The fourth way to fly cheap in Russia is to contact low-cost companies. They allow you to save money by offering only basic services. No hot meals are provided. You cannot book a seat, change the departure date or return the ticket. Also, the allowances for baggage and hand luggage are severely limited. Low-cost airlines, EasyJet, Wizz Air, AirBaltic, Rayanair are popular now.

Make a false transplant

Direct flights are often more expensive than connecting flights. Therefore, consider options with a stop at an intermediate point. For example, you are planning to fly from Moscow (Domodedovo) to Frankfurt am Main (Germany). The cost of a flight through Munich starts at 32,000 rubles. If you choose a flight Moscow – Paris (Charles de Gaulle) with a stopover in Frankfurt am Main, you can save about 5000 rubles, since the flight will cost 27,000 thousand rubles.

Stay on top of promotions and sales

Log into the airline's official website and see if there is a promotion or sale? Perhaps there is a special offer for a ticket. For example, the usual price for a flight from St. Petersburg to Berlin with Aeroflot is 9500 rubles. Taking advantage of the S7 Airlines special offer, you can fly for 5,500 rubles. It turns out that you are saving 4,000 rubles.

Tip: Sometimes companies mistakenly list cheap tickets. In such cases, there is no need to call back the managers and specify the price. Place your order immediately. The flight is unlikely to be canceled; in extreme cases, the money will be returned.

Remember that you can travel inexpensively not only from the capital's airport, but also from other settlements: Yekaterinburg, Perm, Chelyabinsk. Don't forget about the Baltics, Helsinki. Periodically, they hold promotions and sales. You will probably find interesting options in them.

Shop online

On the official websites of many airlines, you can buy a ticket for the destination of interest online. Since organizations do not hire staff, they can offer a good discount. Such purchases are convenient and do not take much time. However, there are three nuances:

  • the site should really be official;
  • you need to carefully check the entered information;
  • an antivirus must be installed on the computer to protect personal data.

Observing safety rules, you will be able to order tickets online. This will save not only money, but also time. After all, you don't need to get to the airport and stand in lines. The itinerary receipt is sent to your e-mail.

Buying a round trip ticket and stopover

Another one good way save. Have you noticed that round trip flights with one airline are often cheaper? The point is, airline companies don't want you to go to competitors. Therefore, they give a discount.

It is also profitable to buy tickets with transfers or multiple connections. If you find a cheap flight that lasts 20 hours or more, take a closer look at it. Perhaps such a flight will be more convenient. After all, you can not only save a decent amount, but also spend time at the transfer point. Travelers often use a stopover. True, this service is not always provided.

Use bonus programs and cashbacks

Many companies offer miles to active customers. They accumulate when paying for services with bank cards, checking into a hotel, writing reviews on Tripadvisor, as well as contacting partner companies. Allows to reduce the cost of the flight.

Another option is the money saved thanks to the cashback. The bottom line is simple: part of the money spent is returned to you. Such a bonus is offered, for example, by the search engine Aviasales.

How else can you save

Baggage is not cheap. Therefore, choose the things that you really need. Carefully read the rules for the carriage of baggage and hand luggage (published on the official websites of airlines). Often you have to pay inflated tariffs for breaking the rules. Weigh the bags in advance and calculate the approximate cost. Some tourists do not do this, as a result, they overpay for the air ticket, or throw things away at the airport.

Of course, travel is best planned in advance. Then you will have enough time to familiarize yourself with all the offers, find the cheapest flights and organize your trip correctly. How do you save on buying plane tickets?

June 10, 2016

Yuri Belousikov

Prices passenger Transportation lately they are not encouraging, however, if you need to travel somewhere far, most often there is no particular choice. But you can not overpay and buy tickets cheaper. In any case, the railway - for sure! Here are some of the most effective ways to save money on train tickets.

Consider the time you buy your ticket

The cheapest railway tickets can be purchased in the fall, as well as during may holidays, and specifically - on Victory Day, when you can save as much as two times compared to the usual price. But the prices for train tickets on other holidays are not particularly encouraging. We strongly advise against buying train tickets two days before and two days after March 8, at the very beginning of November, as well as the week before the New Year, and that's it. new year holidays... Also during the summer and in the first two weeks of September, ticket prices usually increase by 15%. The only type of tickets for which prices do not depend on seasonal fluctuations is luxury, but here, of course, there is no talk of any savings. If you express the general picture in numbers, then you can represent it in the form of some kind of plate:

So, the best way to save money is do not ride trains on holidays and pre-holiday days (with the exception of May 8 and 9 - these are just the most favorable days), in summer and at the very beginning of autumn.

Buy tickets in advance

This method is good for purchasing compartment tickets. With an advance purchase (up to 45 days for intercity and up to 60 days for international routes) the cost of the ticket is significantly reduced. For some destinations under this scheme, tickets can be purchased at a price up to 40% cheaper than the standard one. The rule here is simple - the closer the train departure date, the more expensive ticketso the best solution is to plan your trip in advance and buy tickets some time after they go on sale. But on the day of the start of sales, you should not buy tickets - at least for popular destinations: the price in this case will be higher than the one that will be set on the second or third day. But do not overdo it and try to buy a ticket at least a month before departure - in this case, you can count on additional discounts (usually 20%) on the upper bins in compartment cars. It should also be remembered that you will be able to save only if you buy at least 10 days in advance and no less, since when ordering a ticket closer to the departure date, a commission for registration will also be charged, which is not available with an advance purchase.

Take advantage of discounts

Discount tickets can be purchased for almost every destination at one time or another. Discounts can be due to various reasons (seasonality, lack of demand, etc.) - it is important for us to know only what they are. First of all, we advise you subscribe to news about various promotionsarranged. This can be done on the official website of the company, all current offers are also available there:.

For example, due to discounts it often happens that compartment tickets are cheaper than reserved seats (also thanks to discounts on top shelf space, which we have already discussed). And if you want to travel in a compartment even cheaper, then remember that from November 16 to December 24, inclusive, there is a special offer, according to which seats on the upper shelves can be bought with a discount of not 20% (as can be done when buying a ticket in advance) , and as much as 35%.

Another way is that if you are going to a stop that is near the point of arrival of the train, best to buy a ticket to the finalas discounts usually cover the entire route and you may overpay even though the distance is shorter. The same applies to the opposite situation, when a passenger needs to board a train at the next nearest stations after departure - in this case, it is more profitable to buy a ticket from the train departure station. Please note that additional discount can often be obtained when buying a round-trip train ticket.

There are cumulative discounts on bonus cards (under the "Russian Railways Bonus" program and on the "VTB-24 Russian Railways" card).

You can also use a card with the Cashback option - in this case, part of the money after the purchase will be returned to your card. And don't forget the kids' tickets! So, children under 5 years old can travel accompanied by adults for free, though without providing a separate seat. If there are two children, then the second child can be issued a ticket with a discount of 50% (the amount of the discount may vary, and details can be found on the Russian Railways website or by phone). Benefits apply to all children under the age of 14 - just remember to bring your birth certificate.

Book your tickets online

Today, there are already many sites that compete with each other to attract as many buyers as possible. Accordingly, the prices for tickets when buying on the site may be cheaper than if you buy them at the ticket offices of Russian Railways. At first glance, this is surprising, but it should be borne in mind that Russian Railways, under a cooperation agreement, provides significant discounts to its partners, due to which the latter can set more favorable prices... By the way, on the Russian Railways website itself, tickets are also cheaper than at the box office (no need to rent a room, pay for the work of cashiers, etc.).

One of the alternative sites where you can buy train tickets:

Save on insurance

By default, insurance fees are necessarily included in the price of almost any ticket. However, by giving up insurance, you may well save a couple of hundred rubles. By the way, few people know about this, but you can refuse insurance literally just before the train's departure (more precisely, at least 30 minutes before departure). Of course, it's nice to feel protected, but the likelihood that something will happen to you on the way is extremely small, and here you can also save money. By the way, the full amount of insurance upon the occurrence of an insured event is paid only to disabled people of the 1st group, as well as disabled children.

Drive long distances with transfers

This rule, which is usually cited as an example when talking about air tickets, also applies to railway tickets. If you have to travel a day or two or even longer, work out a route with one or two transfers. With the correct planning of the route, the duration of the trip will slightly exceed the travel time of a direct train, and you can save a lot on this. Some sites already offer a dedicated transfer service.

If you go abroad, then it will be more profitable to buy two tickets: the first - from your station to the nearest border station on the territory of the neighboring state, and the second - already to the destination station (for example, Moscow - Brest can be divided into two sections Moscow - Orsha and Orsha - Brest). In this way, you can save very significantly on international tariffs.

Buy non-refundable tickets

As the name suggests, a non-refundable ticket cannot be returned if for some reason you change your mind about traveling. Exception: force majeure. However, if you are sure that you will go, then the cost of such a ticket may be significantly lower than the usual one.

Due to the fact that we travel quite a lot and, as a result, we constantly fly on airplanes, our friends and acquaintances often turn to us with a request to suggest how cheap it is to fly to this or that country.

We tell, sometimes we help to search for tickets, their registration and purchase, but now we decided to write detailed instructionsso that it would be useful to those who hesitate to ask.

In this article, we will not describe in detail how to book a ticket on a specific site, but will describe the possibilities of finding cheap flights.

When we lived in St. Petersburg, low-cost airlines were our favorite way to travel around Europe - and indeed, if there is an opportunity to buy a ticket to Europe for 10 euros, then in our opinion, it is simply blasphemous not to use it 🙂 We also used the sites of low-cost airlines to search tickets for domestic flights to the USA, and now we fly low-cost in Asia.

Low-cost airlines, a term that is a tracing of the English "low cost" (low cost), has firmly taken root in the Russian language. They are also called discounters and low cost airlines. Low-cost airlines offer very low fares by reducing the traditional set of services.

Many are wary of flying with these airlines, suggesting that the low cost could compromise safety, but in reality, the cost is reduced by other factors. Most often these are:

  • lack of food on board;
  • restrictions on baggage allowance;
  • lack of fixed seats in the cabin (this encourages passengers to board the plane as quickly as possible and shortens the intervals between flights);
  • use of non-main airports;
  • the use of one type of liners in the airline (allows to reduce the cost of maintenance and training of personnel);
  • inability to return tickets or change flight dates;
  • short direct flights - often no more than 3 hours
  • lack of air ticket offices - tickets search, as a rule, can be done only on the airline's website

Our favorite discounter at one time was the Irish company Ryanair, which operates flights to 27 European countries. Its main advantage is the availability of flights from Finland (Turku, Tampere and Lappeenranta). By the way, due to its proximity to St. Petersburg (220 km), Lappeenranta is jokingly called "Pulkovo-3" 🙂

The average cost of a flight between European countries for low-cost airlines is 30 euros, but we managed to find and buy tickets for 10-15 euros (sometimes they are generally sold for 1 cent, you only need to pay fuel surcharges).

Ryanair's management is constantly striving to reduce costs and thereby reduce the cost of the ticket (while making money on large volumes of traffic and on additional services), with their sometimes crazy ideas, while doing good PR for themselves. Here are some high-profile initiatives that the airline planned to implement :

  • fat tax;
  • standing chairs;
  • paid toilets on board

Ryanair, of course, is not the only low-cost airline, for example, you can fly from Helsinki using the services of EasyJet (we flew to Paris for 25 euros).

There are also companies that fly from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland: Blue1, AirBaltic, Air Berlin, EasyJet, Ryanair, Wizz Air
Low-cost airlines in the USA: Frontier Airlines, Jetblue, Virgin America,
Asia: Airasia, Jetlite, Jetstar, Spicejet, Air India Express, FireFly, Fly Kingfisher, Tiger Airways

When looking for and buying tickets from low-cost airlines, you should be aware of the additional expenses that may arise during the flight:

  • service charge for payment by credit card;
  • payment for checked baggage;
  • cost of transfer to and from the airport of departure

Search for charter flights

Flights operated by carriers for a specific customer, such as a tour operator. Most often, charter flights are used to transport tourists on a tour. vouchers, but in cases where some of the vouchers remain unsold, the tour operator sells air tickets separately - usually such offers appear literally 1-2 days before departure.

To search, you can contact directly the tour operators working in the direction of interest, or search through the aggregators of charter offers, for example http://www.aviacharters.ru/

Minuses:

  • inability to buy a ticket in advance;
  • often inconvenient departure times;
  • possible change in departure time at the last moment;
  • only popular tourist routes;
  • service is not the best level.

Promotions on the official websites of airlines

It should be borne in mind that a flight with a low-cost airline will not necessarily be cheaper. "Normal" carriers also often have good propositions and promotions, so it makes sense to periodically review sites, subscribe to mailings. For example, we bought tickets from St. Petersburg to Rome and Barcelona for 8,000 rubles, and to Nice for 7,000 rubles. (price for a round-trip ticket).

General recommendations:

  • try to search for and buy tickets as early as possible - most often the price rises as tickets are sold;
  • "play" with the search for tickets - prices may differ depending on the day of the week and other factors (for example, tickets on Tuesday are often cheaper than on Friday) - if you do not have a clear reference to dates, the probability of buying a cheap plane ticket increases;

Ticket finders

There are a huge number of airlines and checking the cost of tickets in each is quite tedious. Instead, it is easier to use special sites "ticket search engines" (meta-search engines, super-aggregators). These sites search for tickets by airlines, booking systems and agencies.

They themselves do not have their own database and do not sell tickets, but redirect them to the website of the agency or airline. Often, with the help of such a search, a ticket can be bought cheaper than on the airline's website (agencies can give discounts from their commissions due to the large volume of sales), but it also happens vice versa, some take additional commissions.

The search for tickets for all super-aggregators is carried out by almost the same agencies and airlines, but the results are nevertheless often different, especially on indirect flights, where there are a large number of possible connections.

Most low-cost airlines are also searched for tickets, but, unfortunately, some of them, in order to save on agency fees, do not give information about their flights to search engines (for example, this applies to Ryanair).

In general, metasearch engines differ in three parameters:

  • coverage of airlines,
  • the convenience of use,
  • special functions;

Sometimes we use aviasales.ru, but more often skyscanner.ru - in our opinion, this is the most convenient and functional search engine. This service has a number of advantages:

  • most often gives the lowest price;
  • it is possible to search for tickets without specifying the exact city, for example, "Moscow - Italy" or "Russia - France";
  • ticket search works very quickly;
  • nice and user-friendly interface;
  • low price calendar (you can choose a date when biles on the same direction are cheaper)
  • subscription to price notification by e-mail;
  • the dynamics of prices in a particular city by months from which you can find out in what period tickets are usually cheaper;
  • list of special offers from airlines;
  • "smart" recognition of the entered city (understands names with errors, typos, as well as those typed in transliteration);
  • the ability to swap the cities of departure and arrival with one click (a trifle, but nice);
  • the creators of the site are also travelers and currently live in Phuket. This fact has little effect on the ability to find cheap air ticket, but explains the rich functionality of the site - apparently the guys took into account their rich experience in searching for tickets when creating the service

If you still have questions about finding cheap air tickets - ask them in the comments, we will be happy to answer.

Flight delay or cancellation compensation

This point does not apply to finding tickets, but it is also very important, so we decided to include it in this article. Few people know about this, but if you were informed of a delay or cancellation of your flight at the airport, either less than 14 days before the departure date, or you were denied boarding, then in addition to the amenities that the airline must provide, you can get up to 600 euros compensation.
