Nordwind Airlines was founded in 2008 as part of the major Russian tour operator Pegas Turistik (its structure includes, among other things, another airline, Ikar, operating under the Pegas Fly brand). The base airport is Sheremetyevo (Moscow). The fleet includes 24 aircraft from the world's largest manufacturers of such equipment - Boeing and Airbus. In total, they fly in more than two hundred directions. it charter flights to the resorts of the whole world loved by Russians, plus regular lines - both within the country and abroad, and also back.

General Provisions

  1. On nord wind flights, hand luggage must be scanned using special equipment and screened by authorized employees at the airport of departure and (possibly) arrival.
  2. Items (other than personal items) are labeled with a special "Cabin" tag. Check-in employees have the right to weigh and measure carry-on and luggage;
  3. The passenger independently transfers things to the aircraft and places them in the place provided for by the aircraft design;
  4. Only the passenger is responsible for the safety of items taken into the cabin, not Nordwind Airlines.

Nordwind carry-on baggage allowance

On regular flights

  • economy class: 1 piece weighing up to 5 kg, regardless of the tariff;
  • comfort class and business class: 1 seat up to 5 kg in the "Excursion" tariff, 2 seats up to 5 kg each in the "Promo" and "Optimum" tariffs;

On charter flights

1 piece weighing up to 5 kg. In this case, it does not matter what class of ticket the passenger purchased - the norm is the same for everyone.

There is no carry-on baggage allowance for children under two years of age who travel without a separate seat. An exception is the holders of economy class tickets issued at the "Promo" fare.

In any case, the size of hand luggage remains unchanged - 55 × 40 × 20 cm (in total - 115 cm).

Plastic suitcase size 55 × 40 × 20 cm

The figure is used by the overwhelming majority of airlines in the world and is not taken out of the blue. After all, the passenger must place an item taken into the cabin (bag, suitcase, backpack, package, etc.), or under the seat in front (not applicable for the first row and seats at emergency exits), or on a covered shelf located under the ceiling (small personal items and outerwear).

Stacking carry-on luggage on the shelf

Items transported in addition to the norm

Without charging a separate fee, in addition to the main piece of hand luggage, the passenger can carry the following items:

  • a second small item (a backpack, a handbag, or a briefcase with things inserted into a backpack, a handbag, or a briefcase, including, for example, a laptop). Dimensions and weight cannot exceed the established norms, and the design must allow to safely place this item in the cabin;
  • a bouquet of flowers (what exactly are its parameters - not regulated at all by the rules) of the "North Wind"
  • suit in a garment bag;
  • outerwear;
  • baby food that the child needs during the flight;
  • medicines and dietary food. As much as the passenger needs during the flight;
  • goods purchased by passengers in duty-free shops. They must be packed in a certified sealed and sealed bag with a proof of purchase (receipt). The dimensions and weight of such an acquisition should not exceed the above norms for hand luggage;
  • car seat, carrycot, folding stroller-cane and other restraints for a small passenger. At the same time, the dimensions cannot exceed the carrier's standards for hand luggage, and, in addition, such a device must be freely placed on the upper shelf, or under the seat in front; If this is not possible, the stroller will be taken to the luggage compartment before boarding, without additional payment
  • rollators, crutches, walking sticks, a folding wheelchair and other devices used to move a passenger with disabilities physical capabilities... The requirement is exactly the same as for similar children's things - for the duration of the flight, it is imperative to place these devices on a closing shelf under the ceiling, or on the floor, under the seat, which is located a row in front.

The folding wheelchair must be checked in by the passenger. For the duration of the flight, he will be temporarily provided with an on-board wheelchair. The maximum passenger weight is 250 kg, the distance between the armrests is 34 cm.

Important! It is unacceptable to force the passage of the plane, hold things in your hands, put them in places unsuitable for this, etc.

Carriage of liquids in carry-on baggage

It is possible, but subject to certain (and very strict) restrictions. They are, however, easy to follow if you read them carefully.

  1. The maximum volume of each container is 100 milliliters;
  2. A partially filled container is considered full. For example, you cannot bring a 150 ml bottle, if there is even 20 ml in it. It must be checked in or left at the airport;
  3. The containers should be packed in a transparent bag, which is equipped with a reusable fastener (for example, a zip-type) with a volume of no more than 1 liter.

Packages of liquids in carry-on baggage

During the aviation security control procedure, the passenger must take this package out of the bag / suitcase / backpack and put it on the scanner tape.

Aviation security control

  1. Each passenger can take only 1 such package with them;

Empty containers can be transported in carry-on baggage. But if there is at least some amount of liquid, the specified requirements apply.

Note! In this case, all gels, aerosols, pasty and other similar substances are equated to liquids. These are lotions, tonics, after shave products, soft cheeses (mozzarella, ricotta, camembert, brie, melted), canned food, and much more. Therefore, in order not to say goodbye to your property at the airport, you should carefully check all liquid for compliance with the established rules.

At the same time, the presence of the original packaging is absolutely not necessary. Therefore, you can pour, for example, shower gel or shampoo from a large bottle into a small one and take it with you.

Kits of compliant bottles and a pre-set size bag with a clasp can be found, for example, in large hypermarkets, next to suitcases, locks, eye masks and other travel goods.

Additional information The volume norms do not apply to baby food, dietetic food, and life-saving medications. V the latter case may be asked to show a doctor's note.

What you can't carry in carry-on baggage

  • edged weapons and firearms, as well as their imitations;
  • piercing and cutting objects - knitting needles, knives and scissors (including stationery), wire cutters, tweezers;
  • saws, axes;
  • dangerous razors (safe electric - you can);
  • corkscrews;

Note: This list is not exhaustive. An employee of the service exercising control at the airport of departure may “reject” other items if, in his opinion, the passenger can create a danger to other people, including crew members, with their help.

Overweight carry-on baggage

If the passenger wants to take with him into the cabin an item whose dimensions exceed the established norms in weight, or an additional item in excess of the prescribed amount, then he will need to make an additional payment.

  • for exceeding the weight of a single piece (more than 5 kg, but up to 10 kg) - 1500 rubles for domestic flights and 20/25/30/35 USD / EUR - for flights outside Russia, or in the opposite direction, depending on the tariff zone. The list of such zones and their gradation is established by the carrier (in this case, Nord wind airlines);
  • for carrying an additional piece of hand luggage (up to 50 × 40 × 20 cm and up to 5 kg of weight) - 1000 rubles on flights within Russia and 15/20/25/30 US dollars or euros - on international routes.

Note! In this case, prices in US dollars are applied for nordwindairline flights from airports located in Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Thailand, Israel, Mexico, China, Vietnam Cuba, Dominican Republic, as well as the countries of the Western Hemisphere. On the remaining lines between states, the North Wind uses the euro as its currency.

Transportation of musical instruments

If a guitar or other item is in a soft case and does not exceed the established limits for carry-on baggage, it can be carried in the cabin. If the excess still occurs, then you need to arrange the carriage at a separate passenger seat.

If the cover is hard, then there are no options - check it in luggage.

In 2018, Nordwind Airlines established a carry-on baggage allowance on its flights for many fares, which is the minimum allowed by Russian law. Other restrictions, as a rule, are international (but can be supplemented already in our country, by separate documents). The necessity of their implementation is not influenced by Nordwind Airlines - people who work at the airport are involved in control.

From those used by other carriers. Weight restrictions per segment are similar - up to 23 kg, but dimensions - no more than 158 cm in 3 dimensions. At the same time, Economy class coupons give the right to take on board personal items, backpacks up to 10 kg and one compartment in a special compartment, and in Economy Premium, Comfort and Business classes, register two seats, each up to 23 kg.

Having a need to transport a substantial amount of things, you should think in advance about the most profitable flight options. Payment in excess of the norm, as a rule, results in a substantial amount. Within the country, for an overweight of up to ten kilograms, you will have to add 2500, and if more, then 5000. For exceeding the dimensions: from 158 to 203 cm - 5000 rubles. and more than 203 cm - 7500. The third and subsequent segments per passenger will cost 7500 rubles. each. On international transportation, price tags are already indicated in dollars and euros, they amount to more impressive amounts, but not less than 100 conventional units.

  • What is allowed to take for free? When traveling with a child, it is convenient to take a stroller, a cradle, a car seat with you. Almost everything allows you to transport sports equipment without payment (snowboards, bicycles, skis, surfboards, fishing tackle, etc.).
  • For a toddler under 2 years old, for whom a separate seat is not provided, it is possible to carry luggage on board and luggage up to 10 kg.
  • According to the new rules air transportation Many personal items that previously could have been carried separately for free are now included in carry-on baggage. Accordingly, their weight is taken into account. This applies, for example, to umbrellas, phones, laptops, documents in a folder. This is worth remembering. Even if today an employee of one company closed his eyes to the camera hanging on your chest, this does not mean that tomorrow you will not be asked to weigh it along with other things.

In any case, in order not to get into an awkward or unpleasant situation, be sure to first clarify the rules of transportation of the company whose services you decided to use before you find yourself at the airport.

Several life hacks for novice travelers regarding the transportation of things inside the passenger compartments of low-cost airlines.

When preparing for air travel, choosing a destination, you should take into account your needs and requirements of the carrier in advance. Often more expensive tickets, if you need to take heavy bulky items on the road, you can save finances. On selected flights, directions, general terms and Conditions may change even within the framework of a particular carrier.

general information

Passenger baggage allowed by the carrier for carriage in the cabin of an aircraft is classified as carry-on baggage and must be marked with the "Cabin baggage" tag (exceptions in the Personal belongings section) issued by the carrier and carried free of charge, provided:

  • the weight of unchecked baggage does not exceed the norms established by the tariff,
  • the maximum dimensions for the sum of three dimensions and for each dimension in particular do not exceed 115 cm (55x40x20 cm).

For children under 2 years old traveling without a seat, carry-on baggage is not provided, except for the "Promo" fare in economy class.

Carry-on baggage during its transportation must be placed under the passenger seat. Above the passenger seat in the lockable luggage compartment, you can place small light things and outerwear of the passenger.

The responsibility for the safety of hand luggage rests with the passenger. In the event of a break in the flight specified in transport document, when disembarking from the aircraft, the passenger must take with him the carry-on baggage and personal belongings placed there.

Currently, at the airports located on the territory of the Russian Federation, there are restrictions on the carriage of liquids, gels and aerosols in carry-on baggage. This limitation applies to: water, drinks, creams, perfumes, contents of spray cans, deodorants, toothpastes, any other similar substances. Passengers are allowed to carry the above substances on board the aircraft, but only on condition that they are packed in containers with a capacity of not more than 100 ml and packed in a securely closed transparent plastic bag with a volume of not more than 1 liter. A passenger can only take one such package with him.

Detailed requirements for carry-on baggage can be found in the section on transportation of dangerous baggage.

Information on the carriage of animals in the aircraft cabin can be found in the section on carriage of animals.

Baggage carried in a separate passenger seat

Baggage requiring special transportation conditions (for example, valuable, fragile, fragile, fragile items) may be accepted for carriage in a passenger seat in the aircraft cabin if:

  • the passenger has previously agreed on this service with the airline,
  • the luggage has passed a special inspection for aviation security.

The passenger is obliged to pay extra space(passenger seat) at the passenger fare (in this case, the fee for the transportation of excess baggage is not charged).

The weight of the baggage should not exceed the average passenger weight (80 kg), and the dimensions of the baggage should allow it to be placed on a separate passenger seat.

Luggage must be placed in a seat by the window and secured with a seat belt. Baggage is placed in such a way that it does not block access to emergency and regular exits from the aircraft, does not block light boards for other passengers ("smoking is prohibited", "fasten your seat belts", "exit").

The baggage carried in the passenger seat is checked in by the passenger at the check-in counter, and a separate boarding pass with the seat number is issued for such baggage. The passenger is responsible for its integrity and safety. Baggage must be properly packed to prevent damage to the aircraft cabin equipment during transportation. The baggage packaging must have a device for attaching it to the passenger seat.

Baggage delivery to the aircraft board, its lifting, placement in the aircraft cabin, removal from the aircraft board and delivery from the aircraft is performed by the passenger carrying this baggage.

Personal belongings

As carry-on baggage, in excess of the established norm and without charging an additional fee, the passenger has the right to carry the following things:

  • a backpack, the weight and dimensions of which allow it to be safely placed in the aircraft cabin and do not exceed the established free carry-on baggage allowance or a handbag or a briefcase with things inserted into a backpack, or a bag, or a briefcase,
  • bouquet of flowers,
  • outerwear,
  • baby food for the child during the flight,
  • suit in a garment bag,

  • goods purchased in duty-free shops at the airport, packed in a sealed (sealed) plastic bag, the weight and dimensions of which allow them to be safely placed in the aircraft cabin and do not exceed the established free carry-on baggage allowance.

A folding wheelchair must be checked in by the passenger. To move around the aircraft, such passengers are provided with an on-board wheelchair for temporary use. The maximum passenger weight is 250 kg, the width between the armrests is 34 cm.

A baby stroller *, including a cane, is carried in the hold of an aircraft as checked baggage in excess of the established allowance. The passenger can use the stroller before boarding the aircraft. The stroller must be handed over for loading in luggage compartment just before boarding the aircraft.
