Corfu island

This place is recognized as one of the most visited. Its second name is the Emerald Isle. A riot of greenery and bright colors really reigns here. The island is located in the west of the country, it is the largest in area. The climate here is conducive to relaxation for almost all 365 days a year. Spread out next to him beautiful parkfilled with many antique statues. Do not forget to visit the Church of Spyridon built in 1589. Pilgrims come here to call on the relics of Saint Spyridon, which are kept in a silver coffin. There are many monasteries, museums, Mount Pantokrator and a lot of interesting things on the island. If you don't know where is the best place to relax in Greece, then you can safely go to Corfu.

Rhodes island

This place was marked by the international organization UNESCO. Historians claim that people lived here in the Neolithic era. In any case, for tourists, this is an attractive corner of stunningly beautiful nature and a bright sun shining almost 300 days a year. If you love sights, there are many of them in Rhodes: both natural and man-made. Be sure to visit the Old Part of the Island, the Palace of the Grand Masters, the port of Mandraki, the city of Lindos with its abundance of architectural monuments, the Petaloudes Butterfly Valley, the Museum of Natural History and so on. You can go on for a long time. Believe me, your vacation will definitely turn out bright and eventful if you choose Rhodes.

Crete

Where is the best place to relax in Greece by the sea? Definitely in Crete. It is here that there are the best resorts, excellent infrastructure has been created, and the climate allows families with children to successfully and in the shortest possible time to pass acclimatization. In general, anywhere on the coast there are interesting sights and excellent conditions for recreation.

Santorini island

This place is famous among tourists for its exotic houses, made in blue and white, decorated with bright, colorful potted flowers. Santorini is not one island but a group. The main thing that distinguishes this option is the abundance of spa centers, comfortable beaches and a measured atmosphere of peace and tranquility.

Chios island

Thinking where is the best place to relax in Greece? Reviews of tourists recommend those who have already visited most of the country's places to come here. Chios is not yet very popular among Russian vacationers, but it's time to expand your horizons. Here you will be hospitably met by the locals, will amaze you to the core wildlife around, will delight you with the cleanest sea and comfortable beaches. The peculiarity of this place is in the complete absence of the usual tourist bustle of world resorts. Looking for tranquility and tranquility? Then you are here.

Traveling with children

If you have children, do not rush to leave them with grandmothers when going on vacation. Properly planned and organized trip even in the presence of restless toddlers, it will turn out to be exciting and filled with positive emotions. Present your child with a fairy tale.

The place you choose in Greece depends on the age of the baby.

  • Up to 3 years old. You need family resort with hotels offering babysitting services. It should have a large safe beach, a garden with soft grass on which the baby can run.
  • 4 to 6 years old. The best option is a house on an island with a kitchen and a cozy garden. A hotel with playgrounds and services for this age group of children is also suitable. But skipping long hikes to the beach is exhausting.
  • 7 to 10 years old. At this age, kids will already be interested in all kinds of entertainment. So look for a resort with a water park, an aquarium, an amusement park, etc. It will be much more interesting for a kid to go to the zoo than to wander through the ancient ruins.
  • 11 to 13 years old. Teenagers prefer outdoor recreation - active species sports.
  • From 14 to 16 years old. This is going to be tough for you. Usually children of this age crave beach entertainment and discos, and parents - to go to museums and relax in a siesta. You need to be able to find compromises, so it is important to choose a diverse resort.

Where is the best place to relax in Greece with children

Will suit you large islandswith well-developed infrastructure. These include Crete, Lesvos, Rhodes. These destinations are considered classic for tourists looking for opportunities to family vacation.

When traveling with children, accessibility is also important. From this perspective, you can prefer the island of Symi.

Avoid trips to islands intended for couples. You won't find the infrastructure you need on them. These include, for example, the island of Folegandros.

If we talk about mainland Greece, then the resorts of Halkidiki and those located along the coast of the Peloponnese are ideal for family holidays with kids. It is there that the shallow sea, golden, clean sand, maximum amenities await you.

How to choose a hotel for a family vacation

When going to Greece with children, carefully select not only a resort, but also a hotel for living. A good establishment should have:

  • Family cottages with garden and lawn.
  • Places for sports.
  • Babysitting services, instructors for training on the water.
  • Children's playroom.
  • A pool designed especially for toddlers.
  • Sandy beach nearby.
  • Children's menu in a cafe or restaurant.

And now we can talk about seasonal vacations. After all, at different times in Greece, the situation is different. And September for vacation is the best option.

Where is the best place to relax in Greece in September

This month is chosen by many tourists from all over the world. Therefore, do not expect calmness and regularity at the resorts. The weather is warm, but the sweltering heat is gone during the day. The air temperature is around 27 degrees. It's not too cold at night. The temperature is about 18 degrees. The water in the sea along the entire coast of the country has not yet cooled down. Its temperature is about 24 degrees - excellent conditions for swimming. Thus, if you are interested in the answer to the question of where is the best place to relax in Greece in September, then you can choose any place. Climatic conditions favor this.

June - mainland month

This is how Greece is! Where is the best place to relax in June? After all, it is in this month that most Russians are waiting for their vacation. It is recommended to choose an area with a temperate climate. Such, for example, is the Halkidiki peninsula. The sea is already warming up enough, the air temperature during the day is at around 30 degrees. And a beach holiday during this period is preferable, as it is too hot for excursions.

Finally

Greece resembles a huge book with an old hardcover. You want to leaf through it, study it, and there are so many pages in it that you can always find something amazing and unknown.

Greece is one of the most popular holiday destinations among our compatriots. Greece has wonderful nature, delicious local cuisine, ancient culture, excellent tourist infrastructure, great beaches - no wonder they fall in love with Greece.

You can go to Greece whenever you want, but beach season there it does not last so long - from the end of April to October. However, in May it is still too cool to swim, and June does not always please with warm waters, but July is a wonderful month for trips to Greece in every sense. So, what is a vacation in Greece in July.

Greece is a rather big country, and therefore the climate can be divided into three types: Mediterranean, Alpine and temperate. So, somewhere there is more rainfall, somewhere less, somewhere in July it is already very hot, and in the mountainous areas it is cooler.

There is very little rain in July, as a rule, no more than 2 days, or even not a single one, and they certainly will not spoil the mood. As for the air temperature, then, again, in different regions of the country everything is different. It would seem that the farther south the resort is, the hotter it should be - but here again there are some peculiarities. For example, July is hotter in, in and than on the islands to the south. Summarizing, we can say that the average daytime air temperature in Greece is about + 29 ... 31 ° C, but sometimes the thermometer in some areas can rise to + 34-35 ° C, sometimes even higher. Perfect weather for beach holiday!

But nighttime temperatures vary. In the central and northern parts, and especially where there are mountains, at nights in July it is slightly cooler, if not completely cold - sometimes, it drops to + 8-10 ° C, but on average it is warmer, but in the more southern parts and on islands at nights in July is somewhere around + 20-25 ° C, which is very good for night walks.

In the middle of summer, gusty northern winds come to Greece. This is not a very comfortable weather, as the wind raises a lot of sand into the air, rips off beach umbrellas and carries away the things of vacationers. By the way, about the beaches! Finally, it is pleasant not only to sunbathe, but also to swim, because the water warms up very well by July, although such a temperature can hardly be called "fresh milk". On average, water temperatures off the coast of Greece fluctuate between + 24 ° C and + 26 ° C, with a slight warming towards the end of the month.

One way or another, even in northern regions Greece's July weather is very pleasant, summer and hot.

What to do in Greece in July

Well, of course, lie on the beach! There are so many beachesthat many countries can envy: with pebbles, and with sand, and on the islands, and on the mainland. Fortunately, the water temperature is already quite comfortable for water procedures.

Those who do not like rest exclusively on "seals" can be advised to try tours... More precisely, I would advise everyone to try them, because Greece is an amazing country, and Greek history and culture is unique in everything. Of course, at +40 it will be a little difficult to cut between ancient temples at times, but it's worth it, especially since not every day in Greece is +40 in July.

You can easily travel around the country on your own, by regular buses, bicycles, taxis. You can go simpler and more expensive way - contact the guide. But some sights that have stood here for many, many centuries are worth a visit. Some of the most impressive buildings are ancient amphitheaters, of which there are many throughout Greece. There is one, in, there is Athens, in - but many where. Great reflections on age-old history suggest greek temples - dilapidated or almost wiped off the face of the earth, or even relatively new and in good condition - there are a lot of temples in Greece. Of course, the most ancient are of the greatest interest. Among them temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion, the temple of Niki Apteros and the temple of Olympian Zeusin athenian Acropolis, temple of Aphaia on a hilltop above the resort town of Ayia Marina on an island, incredible temple of Hephaestus on the northwest side of the Athenian agora, temple of apollo in Bassah (one of the best preserved in Greece) and many others.

In general, it is very interesting to visit athenian Acropolis - incredibly beautiful building of a hill in the city center.

IN Athens in principle, you should go with a separate excursion or set aside at least a day for a walk around the city. It is known that the first temples and buildings appeared in the archaic period. It is a pity that over the course of history, many buildings in Athens were destroyed, but the Greek government has repeatedly carried out restorations to return the place to its original appearance.

More modern buildings are also very interesting. There are a lot of cathedralsbuilt in the Middle Ages or in a slightly later period (for example, cathedral of the Three Martyrs (14th century) in (in Crete), the largest in Cathedral of Saint Spyridon (16th century), the main Orthodox cathedral - Cathedral of Saint Mina (18th century), etc.).

It is also very curious to observe how different religions have coexisted in Greece over the centuries. For example, in Rhodes there is a very beautiful and old synagogue Kahal Shalom. The few mosques in Greece also delight with their decoration - janissary Mosque in Chania(in Crete), tsisdaraki mosque in Athens, fethiye Mosque in Ioannina, old mosque Kara Musa Pasha in Rethymno (in Crete).

The fact that Greece has gone through a lot of wars and battles for territory affected the appearance. There are a lot of fortresses in Greece, now overgrown with trees and grass, but still harsh and gloomy, reminiscent of bygone days - Venetian fortress in Ierapetra (Crete), fortress Akronafplia (Nafplion), fortress of Argos, fortress Gardiki (to Corfu), fortress of Chios and many others.

Monasteries of Greece deserve a separate discussion. Tourists are especially impressive monasteries of Mount Athos in Halkidiki, osios Lucas monastery in Livadia, moni Tari and Moni Filerimu monasteries in Rhodes and many others.

In general, excursions in Greece are very different, and may include a very different "set" of attractions - orient yourself on the spot. If not excursions to antiquities, then at least museums... There are a lot of them in Greece. Lot archaeological museums, which is logical: you have to store all this beauty somewhere!

After being impressed by the temples and amphitheaters, go to enjoy the beauty of Greek nature. And she is in July, oh, how good! The Greek islands are especially beautiful, with rocky shores, mountains and gorges. For example, it will delight tourists with a number of mysterious gorges and caves, many of which are overgrown with myths (for example, Dikteyskaya and Ideyskaya caves).

You should definitely swim to the picturesque blue caves, on the island of Patmos look into the cave of the apocalypse.

Beautiful photos are taken against the background of lakes. When in Kefalonia, take a trip to underground lake Melissani (it's so clean and beautiful!), Corinth has lake Kurna (which is considered a separate attraction), in Rhodes - apolakkia lake, and next to Kastoria is located lake Orestiada (or Kastor Lake, where he likes to come and have picnics).

Well, it's over, lake Voulismeni... Maybe not so azure and picturesque, but very popular - there are many restaurants and bars on its shore, where it is so cool to drink Greek wine on a warm July night. This lake is located in a city in Crete.

About waterfalls greece you can hear less, but there are also a lot of them. For example, on the island of Samothrace and in Crete - however, they are difficult to find on their own.

Everything is clear with natural and man-made sights: there are so many of them that it is simply impossible to tell in one article. By the way, in Greece you can go not only on excursions and hikes. Greece is a lot of fun! Especially in particular tourist towns, where on hot July days they work with might and main clubs, bars and restaurants, as well as water parks in Greece (eg, "Aqua Splash" in Crete, "Water Park" in Rhodes, and also water parks in Naoussa, C - many places). You can feast and dance in Greece around the clock - fortunately, the atmosphere is favorable.

Thus, Greece in July is a great option for those who wish to combine a beach holiday with sightseeing and exciting entertainment.

The best resorts in Greece waiting for vacationers all year roundThe beach season starts in April and ends in October. It is not so easy to figure out exactly where to go - there are too many offers designed for a wide variety of guests. Greece is one of the most popular destinations to relax by russian touristswhile it really is amazing country with magnificent sandy beaches, unique architectural monuments (after all, the cradle of civilization) and most importantly - amazingly kind and sympathetic people. The Greeks have a special attitude towards us, tourists from Russia. A tourist from Russia for the Greeks is not only money, it is sacred. Choosing a vacation in Greece.

Perhaps this is historically due to religion, and maybe something else, but the fact remains. My wife and I have been vacationing in Greece for ten years now, have traveled almost all over the country and gained some experience of rest. For those who are going on vacation to Greece, I advise you to carefully read this article and maybe something will be useful to you.

Almost every fifth Greek has a Russian wife, and the most common female names in Greece are Katerina and Elena. Without going deep into this topic, I will say one thing that when you come to Greece for the first time, you will immediately feel that you are sincerely welcome here and you will love this country forever.
For those who are going to Greece for the first time, the following criteria for rest are first of all important: to be warm, sandy beaches with a gentle entry into the sea, the presence of taverns and shops and the presence of a promenade, i.e. places for walking. There are such places in Greece and there are many of them.

Crete. The road in the mountains.

In one of the taverns. Nice to spend the evening in such a stylized tavern.

Traveling around Greece by car, you can stop at one of these many beaches and swim. It's almost a wild beach. The entry into the sea is shallow and in some places there are even sun loungers and umbrellas

In Greece, you can not only have a great rest on the beach, but also make an amazing journey through time. No country has so many ancients antique monuments antiquity, familiar from childhood from history lessons. Everyone has heard names such as ancient Olympia , Delphi, Mycenae, All this and much more, no less interesting, are the most visited tourist spots... In any TA there will always be excursion tours in these cities and surroundings.
For those who are going to Greece for the first time, you need to know that a beach holiday in Greece is a different story. Beaches for every taste are at your service. If you remember the Bounty ad, this is just about the Greek beaches. Secluded coves with clean sandy beaches, clear sea and stunning mountain views. No one has remained indifferent to these beauties. Along with this, one must understand that Greece is a completely different vacation, not the same as in Turkey or Egypt. I would say that they are fundamentally different. If in these countries you can get all the pleasures without leaving the hotel, then in Greece all the most interesting is just outside its territory. In addition, in Greek hotels you will hardly find such a cheerful and stormy animation as, for example, in Turkey.

The swimming season (this is when all age categories can comfortably swim in the sea) in Greece begins in early June. By this time, the water in the sea is already warming up enough. True, not everywhere is the same. For example, in Halkidiki (northern Greece) the average temperature in June will be about + 20C, and in Crete (the most south island Greece), it will already be a couple of degrees higher, i.e. somewhere around + 23-24C. Of course, once in a while it is not necessary. Nevertheless, since mid-June every day the water on the entire Greek coast is getting warmer and warmer, attracting masses of tourists. At the same time, the air temperature can reach + 35C. If you are thermophilic plants, then in June it is better for you to go swimming on about. Crete, about. Corfu, about. or about. Kos. Only Corfu has a more humid climate than Crete. Although it is hot in Crete, it is dry and there is always a refreshing breeze.

Most comfortable for swimming in northern Greece this time is from mid-June. However, even at + 19C, water procedures are a pleasure for someone. The swimming season in Greece lasts until early to mid-October. At this time, the water temperature can be + 22-24C degrees, but the weather is already autumn. The rains begin, in the evenings without a warm jacket it is already cool enough and the cold wind will not bring joy.
Holidays in Greece is not only a beach, it is also an amazing journey along the coast by car , then anywhere along the coast you will find cozy sandy beaches with clean water and a gentle entry into the water. You can really swim wherever you like.

Cozy Greek beaches. The view is simply amazing.

Crete is the most popular and holiday destination in Greece. However characteristic islands - almost constant presence of waves. Crete is on the open sea and the sea winds are just catching up with the wave. With the exception of some separate coves, which are protected from the wind. These are places like Elounda or Bali.
Some inconveniences on greek beaches when entering the sea in some places it can be a 2-3 meter stone slab, which stretches along the entire coast. In such cases, it is convenient to use rubber slippers, which can be purchased in any resort town. But, it is possible without slippers. This plate becomes an obstacle only when the sea is rough. On quiet days, when there are no waves on the sea, you will calmly cross it and be able to swim without paying attention to this natural obstacle.

The photo shows this very plate.

Basically, all the beaches in Greece are sandy and with a gentle entrance. Water, as a rule, is clean and transparent. Prickly sea \u200b\u200burchins, which many have probably heard of, are found only among rocks and stones. You shouldn't swim in these places, because a needle prick of a hedgehog will bring you a lot of inconvenience. In Greece, all beaches belong to the state and you will not find fences and private territories anywhere. You can swim absolutely anywhere.
The insular part of Greece is no less interesting. Rest on the islands disposes to a calm, measured rest in silence and in the middle of a picturesque area. On the islands you can go fishing, diving or spend unforgettable hours on a yacht. The most visited Greek islands are Aegina, Poros and Euboea. From Athens from the port of Perey, they can be reached in a few hours by boat. And the famous purely Greek island with white houses, blue shutters and doors and mills is business card Greece. This is an island.

Many are ready to sell their souls to the devil in order to relax in such a hotel on the shore.

Most beautiful beach in Greece. Myrtos beach in Kefalonia

The most picturesque and greenest place in Greece is the Chalkidiki Peninsula, which consists of three small peninsulas, popularly called "fingers". In Halkidiki, the Greeks prefer to have their own summer cottages and country houses and go here for a weekend or after graduation. tourist season... The most picturesque peninsula in Halkidiki is Sithonia. There are many pine groves and forests, cozy bays and magnificent sandy beaches. There are practically no noisy and party places in Sithonia. Discos and crazy hotel parties are rare. By the way, the main difference between Greece and, for example, Turkey, is just a more relaxed vacation without animation, focused more on creation than on fun. Of course, in Greece there are hotels similar to the Turkish ones, but there are much fewer of them. In addition to the above, hotels in Greece of the 3 *** category can sometimes be safely equated with 4 or 5 stars of Egypt or Turkey. Also, in my opinion, most Greek hotels are not so pretentious and fashionable. They are most likely more peaceful. Simple and tasteful, in keeping with national traditions: white and blue.

It is very convenient to travel in Greece with a rented car. Unlike other European countries, it is much easier to rent a car in Greece, especially on the islands. You will not be required to have an IDP (international driving license) and will not block a certain amount on the card, as is the case, for example, in France or Italy. How to rent a car in Greece read here. At the same time, Greece has excellent roads, fairly calm traffic and loyal police officers. The very journey by car in Greece will give you only one pleasure. Traffic jams sometimes occur at the end of the week, when locals flock to the weekend and large citiesfor example in Athens.
Everyone who first came to Greece just needs to get acquainted with local cuisine... I must say right away that seafood in Greece is expensive. It is difficult to say why this is so. But meat and vegetables are available in any tavern and are not that expensive. The most popular Greek dishes are moussaka (eggplant baked with minced lamb), saganaki - fried cheese, souvlaki (barbecue), fried octopus, Greek salad and much, much more. Local olives, unlike our Russian ones (which are sold in the store), are all salty, without concentrates and very healthy. Don't miss your chance to nibble on pistachios. Greek pistachios are the tastiest. Also surprisingly tasty local "kozinaki". For drinks, you should try the traditional "" (wine with a resin flavor), the local grape vodka "raki" and aniseed vodka "ouzo". The latter, well, very for an amateur, the taste is very special. And, of course, the famous Greek brandy "Metaxa". In Greece, the cuisine is so diverse that it is possible to list only the most common and popular dishes. Otherwise, you will find your way around. On average, it will cost about 15-20 euros for one person to dine in Greece with wine or beer. By the way, in many taverns there is the so-called homemade wine. You just need to ask the waiter. In Greece it is allowed to produce and sell your own homemade wine. There is a wonderful drink called rakomelo. This is a local grape vodka infused with honey. As souvenirs from Greece, tourists bring olive oil, aromatic soaps, cosmetics, all kinds of dishes and much more.

Santorini

And this is Santorini

I know a lot of tourists who come to Greece on vacation who try to book hotels with breakfast or breakfast-dinner meals only. They prefer to dine in local taverns. For the money, it comes out almost the same, but you will surely get a lot of pleasure, become an expert on Greek cuisine and perhaps get better a little. is all natural and freshly prepared. And to get poisoned in Greece not with fresh products sounds like nonsense.
Recent times tourism business in Greece is more and more focused on the Russian-speaking tourist. Many shops and taverns are already trying not to hire staff without knowledge of the Russian language. Entering the store, they will immediately greet you in Russian. For me it remains a mystery how they define nationality. And since 2011, the Greek Embassy has begun to issue our tourists a multivisa for six months and a year, which has never happened before.
If, when visiting Greece, you are interested in getting acquainted with the ancient Greek history, then it is better to settle somewhere on the mainland of the country, more precisely on the Peloponnese peninsula. From here, all the main Greek attractions are very close to either side. You can order excursions, or you can travel on your own in a rented car or public transport.
How do you choose suitable hotel and how to understand its stardom? We do this. To begin with, we define priorities for ourselves, what is more important to us, the beach or "excursion" or both. If we go in summer, the beach will naturally come first. If it's off-season, then we are looking for such a new place where it is most convenient to travel. Those. presence near stops public transport and, in fact, the sights themselves. Choosing a hotel with a preference for a beach holiday, we try to be located near a small settlementso that in the evenings you can go somewhere, have a cup of coffee or go shopping. We try not to stop in the city itself, as well as on the outskirts or on the edge of civilization. By interactive map (basically it is "Google planet") we look at what terrain prevails in the selected area, rocky, flat, open sea or bays. All this can be seen on an interactive map. Then we choose a hotel. Pay attention to paid or free air conditioning in the rooms, paid or not, umbrellas and sun loungers near the pool. We never use sun beds and umbrellas on the beach, we always take an umbrella with us, and instead of sun loungers we buy straw mats. This is convenient because traveling by car we can get comfortable in any place we like. Then we clarify whether drinks are paid at dinner if we take a hotel without all-inclusive. If you are going to rent a car, you need to check the availability of free parking near the hotel. Well, and of course we read reviews about hotels. If more than half are positive, then we think that the hotel suits us.
In Greece in early summer, especially on the islands, you can get bitten by mosquitoes. Therefore, it is better to take fumitox with you or buy mosquito ointment at the pharmacy on the spot. Such preparations in Greece are of higher quality than our domestic ones and are made from natural products, not chemical ones.

Enjoy your holiday! I will be happy to answer your questions.

If the goal is the sea and beach holidays, then it is best to go to the islands in Greece.
I'll tell you about several places with clean sea, pretty deserted beaches and beautiful landscape around.
But first you need to decide on the time of rest and where to get the ticket.

When to relax in Greece

Best to go to the seaside before European holidays collapse.
If in June and July it is possible to put up with the crowding at Moscow airports, then in August most Europeans, with an average salary several times higher than the Russian one, go on compulsory leave.
And they do not go to their grandmothers in the village, but to the sea: to Spain, Italy, Greece and Croatia.

The consequences are not catastrophic, but they will pinch painfully on the thigh - where the wallet is.
Prices for everything go up one and a half times.
Therefore, my recommendation is this: for European seaside resorts try not to go in August.

Instead of August, it is better to go at the beginning, or even better - in the middle of September:
- sea is warm
- the weather is sunny
- prices are gradually decreasing
The only difference between September and August is that it gets dark faster outside.
But that's not a problem, is it?

When the sea is warm in Greece

Already in June, the sea on the Greek islands warms up enough to swim.
Therefore, the recipe for “when to go to the sea in Greece” is simple: from June to the end of September.
Addition to this recipe: from July 20 to the end of August, you will pay more for a beach holiday than at other times.

Where to get tickets in Greece

  • Take - if you are going to have a rest: Cassandra, Sithonia or island Thassos
  • Take - if you are going to relax: on the islands of the Ionian Sea ( Lefkada, Kefalonia, Zakynthos, Corfu) and on the islands of the Aegean Sea: Skiathos, Skyros, Syros and several dozen more.
  • Take it - if you are going to relax on the island Crete.

Point of entry - Athens

Why arriving in Athens is good:
- on the Athens direction there is a large selection of regular airlines flying from Russia.
You can see by playing with.

In Athens, you can rent a car by finding and ordering it on the website.
The cost of car rental in Athens is cheaper than in the resorts.

3 hours drive from Athens airport - port Hairfrom which you can get to the eastern Greek islands by ferry: (, Skyros, Syros).

You can view the ferry schedule and plan the logistics of movements on the website https://tickets.ferries.gr/

By the way, if you go by car from Athens to Volos or to the west, to the coast of the Ionian Sea and the islands Lefkada, Kefalonia, Zakynthos - you can stay at Meteora at night and see the "floating monasteries".

The site has a lot of material about places in Greece that are good for a seaside holiday - a beach holiday.
I'll just give you links to these places.

Where to stay in Skiathos

It is better to book hotels on the island of Skiathos in advance on the booking site.
We stayed in the Ostria apartments or in neighboring hotels (see the booking map) - a good place and a great beach.

Islands of the Ionian Sea (western Greece)

Islands Lefkada, Kefalonia, Zakynthos and Corfu are located west of the capital of Greece - Athens.
There are no regular flights from Russia to these islands.

Lefkada island

Where to stay in Kefalonia

In my opinion, the best place to base on the island of Kefalonia is the city Ayia-Euphemia.
Firstly, there is a large selection of accommodation, a good beach, boat rentals and a strategic position on the island.
All nice beaches Kefalonia is equidistant from Ayia Euphemia.

Crete

Crete the most big Island in Greece.
Located south of the mainland.
It is characteristic that there are cold currents near the coast of Crete, and its location in the open sea is a consequence of windy weather.
Below is a description of several areas in Crete.
