Cape Formentor is the easternmost tip of the peninsula of the same name in Mallorca and at the same time the northernmost point of the main island of the Balearic archipelago. When the poet Miguel Llobera, who owned the Formentor peninsula, died, his land was divided into several lots and sold. And in 1928, Adan Diele, a native of Argentina and a passionate art lover, decided to build the "Hotel Formentor" on the cape, which was later visited by rich and famous tourists more than once.
There are several viewing platforms on the promontory with breathtaking views. The most famous of them is Mirador del Mal Pas, also called Mirador des Colomer, as it overlooks the small islet of Colomer. From here you can also see the outlines of the island of Menorca in the east, the Gulf of Figueira in the west and Alcudia with its sandy beaches on South. In the southeastern part of Cape Formentor, there is a cave with access to the sea. You can get into it through one of two entrances located 8 meters above the water level.
