A little more than two weeks ago, our students went to St. Petersburg to participate in the Goginda integrated expedition, organized by the Russian Geographical Society (RGO). Changing on the island is 2 weeks - from June 1 to 15. Unfortunately, in the first week, the guys could not go to the island due to meteorological conditions, but on June 6, the weather favored to be sent to the expedition.

For the week from 1 to 6 June, students visited a number of seats in St. Petersburg, including the headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society, Fort "Konstantin" and there also visited the air coils festival, the Nikolaev Cathedral and inspected the sights of the city. In addition, the guys were issued a stripe with the Emblem of the RGO.

All week, our colleagues lived on the ship near the military unit (the name of the ship, on strategic reasons, we do not give).

On June 7, the expedition arrived on the island already to the o'clock in the night. And the lighthouse glimpse in the fog informed volunteers about arriving at the place. But the guys waited not easy wear: 2 kilometers deep into the island, and then immediately was instructed to split the camp, install the tents and the white nights contributed to this. All work on the arrangement of the area took place until early in the morning. The guys went to sleep at 4 o'clock, but despite the fact that the rise was scheduled for 8 hours and nights on the Islands of the Finnish Gulf Cold, which made the guys warmly dress and spend the night in sleeping bags, in the morning they looked full strength and energy.

On the very first day, the island has developed unfavorable weather for planned events, so on this day a further arrangement of the camp was conducted, and in the evening the guys visited "in the dress" in the kitchen, helping to make dinner for all expedition members.

The expedition consisted of both veterans of search engines and ordinary volunteers of different ages from different subjects of our immense homeland: St. Petersburg, Moscow, Yakutia, Rostov, etc.

"From the very beginning of the expedition, we had friendly trusting relationships with colleagues on our environmental mission," says Oleg Timoshenkov, a student of 3 courses P.O. Geography, - Even when taking into account that we were the only students in the expedition, communicated with all participants At one level, which made it possible to achieve a better understanding in our business. It was especially our surprise to meet people who know the teacher from our university. "

With the first opportunity to go beyond the camp under normal weather, volunteers went to search for dumps of tubes from the shells of the Times of the Great Patriotic War. But at the time of returning to the camp, our guys got lost in the forest, and only thanks to the skills of the orientation and the competent leadership of the expedition organizers, they were able to go to the camp.

On weekends on the island, excursions were organized by the catacombs of the German military since the time of the Second World War. Next to them is a lighthouse of 1904 buildings, with funny name "Forgotten" on which only two people work. Raising him, a chic view of the Gulf of Finland opens, and on a clear day the shore of Estonia, which is about 40 km from here. They also conducted guys to the place of the crash of the aircraft "PE-2", which shot down German anti-aircraft gunners in 1943. Now at this place a monument is established in honor of the three crew members.

Upon the occurrence of favorable weather, all participants were issued a working form, gloves. The basis of the task was to clean the forest of the north shore of the island from the tubes of the shells and the shooting sleeves.

In the penultimate days on the island, reporters from the NTV channel for the program "Results of the Week" were visited. During the shooting, geophysicists were found, and a unique find was digested by the unique finder - an artillery anti-aircraft fire control unit (Poazo).

Our guys have found a number of artifacts with it: Alexander - German helmet, Oleg - Points of installation operator, which have been preserved in perfect condition, guidance instruments, part of the radio station and headphones.

"This expedition for me was a huge step in the knowledge of the history of my country," says Artem Agafonov, a student of 3 courses of ecology and environmental management. "Thanks to her I could personally touch towards it. military equipment that time".

For all the time spent on the island, the guys noticed that the island of Great Tyuters is not only rich in its historical component, but also a variety of natural landscapes. The forest occupies most of the island consists of mixed breeds. On the path of passing deep, the guys drew attention to growing pines, alder, fir. Shore is presented sand dunes, monolithic cliffs and boulders.

On the evening of June 15, the guys arrived in Kronstadt, where they went to the station. On the morning of June 16, our students arrived in Smolensk.

"Just unrealistic experience from the trip. Mass interesting storiesthat can be told to friends and acquaintances. Many interesting personalities learned during the expedition, got new useful contacts. We hope this trip is not the last, and if you're lucky, next year, in the next year, we will definitely go to the comprehensive expedition of the Russian geographical society "Gopen" again, "our travelers students are divided by emotions.

For the story, much space is not necessary. Its layers are visible here, as annual rings on the spikes of local pines. Here are the remnants of two large Finnish villages - Surkul and Kiskinyuly - now only foundations remained from houses. Here is an abandoned house - in the 20s of the last century, Goblands was a resort, and here, in the local casino, the rich Finns played. Here are the deposits of Rusty barbed wire, concrete fortifications and a sleeve mixed with the stones - a stern hello, the times of the Great Patriotic and Soviet-Finnish wars. Here in the books still lie mines and search expeditions still find the remains of fighters.

At one of the low mountains of the island, named after the inventor of Radio Alexander Popov, are many different monuments. It was from here that in 1899, Popov handed over the first radio signal - helped tie Gobores and Kronstadt and rescue the array of Armor-Admiral APRAKSIN.

At night, two lighthouse shine from the island - North and South. The southern, still pre-revolutionary, 1905 buildings, looks like it came from an old postcard. North - fat and striped.

On shallow water U. western coast The islands of the salty of the Oceanographic research vessel "Leonid Dyubin" - after 25 years of service, it was sold on scrap metal, but in its last campaign, the vessel disappeared from the transport cable and so saves from the cut for 16 years.

Among the forests and roads of Gogland, the docks of the Russian Meridian arc or arc strengthen are hiding. The network of 265 stone cubes was laid in the ground in the first half of the XIX century throughout the Arctic Ocean to the Black Sea to reveal the size and shape of the Earth. The works were led by astronomer, academician and professor Vasily Yakovlevich Struve, and they were so accurate that even their testing with the help of satellites in the 20th century showed the error in just 2 centimeters. Now only two points from Arc Struve are preserved on the territory of Russia - "Gogland Z" and "Myakipyllus", and both are here, on Gobland.

Now Gopland rests from its turbulent history: I detected, overgrown with pines. From the permanent inhabitants here - border guards, meteorologists, foresters and caretakers of lighthouses: the fifty and fifty people are permanently residing.

And around them is an eternal unshakable sea, measly beating about coastal stones.

Anton Yurmanov - Specialist of the Expedition Center of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, leads the first inclusive expedition of the Russian geographical society, whose purpose is to equip tourist trails and improve the state of the points of the arc streng. The dark-eyed and tanned, he seems like a hero of an adventure film: in his 24 Anton already hunted by plants in West Africa, South-East Asia, Oceania, South America, flew to the Arctic, founded a field of field collection of scientific materials for scholars Sample Crossing. On the island of Gogland, he is already the fourth time and the first as the head of the expedition.

In the camp there is everything for comfortable field life - two-bedroom tents, woven winks, dry ladies. Before the point of "Gobind Z" - fifteen minutes walk from the camp, and to get to the meakyllyus, you need to climb the moss-covered moss. It stands for a pedestal, a column of openwork ferrous metal. Some of the signs that indicate the direction. One of our tasks

Getting to Gogland is not easy, tourists here - once or two and turned around, and the first thought that comes to me after exploring the island: why change something?

The signs that you have seen also made one tourist, "says meteorologist Katerina, walking with us through the forest. - He came here and was very surprised that there were no pointers here. Then, already at home, he himself published a few and sent us.

Husband asked me if I want to live here, and I answered: "Of course I want!"

Katerina brews me his own tea made and pours a transparent yellow jam from the bank of local dandelions. Together with her husband, Mikhail and Son Semen, they moved to Gopen four years ago. Now Semen Six - he jumps around the house, packed into the leopard bedspread and catches the kitten Venka.

Once Mikhail came here to search expeditions: he now leads a search detachment "Corner" and perfectly knows the history of the island. Once, Katerina arrived with him. The island has conquered her at first sight.

"But just to put a house here and cannot live, you need to work with someone," says Katerina. - from the specialties affordable by the villagers - meteorologist, forester and builder of the lighthouse.

All places on the beacons were occupied, so the spouses went to the head of the meteorological service and left their contacts. Thought not call back. But a year later, in February 2015 a call rang - the rate of the meteorologist was released.

We thought for a long time, but in the end we decided to move. Many dream of old age in a house with a fireplace. Only here, maybe in old age, nothing will not want. You must fulfill dreams now.

Life in the house is adjusted: there is heating, water and the Internet. True, the toilet is still on the street, and instead of the soul - the bath. Even the parcels from Aliexpress reach the Gorean: True, it is necessary to order them to the address of the military unit.

We somehow put satellite television, and it was necessary to specify our street. It turned out that we have island and rooms of houses, and there are no streets! As a result, wrote that the street was central, and the house is the first.

Products also have to buy for half a year ago - but then the head does not hurt about what to buy in the store.

Why are you talking about the Internet, "Mikhail grins. - We arrived at romantics! Record: We live with candles, write pen, the child reads a letter with "Yates", soon I will start knitting!

Semyon, of course, reads not a letter with "Yates", but books about fish, animals and pirates, but his childhood is really not quite ordinary. He is the only child on the island, and in his six years behaves like a real man - at least half of the girls on the expedition regularly received bouquet colors from it.

At first, we thought to go back when the village would need to go to school, but then I realized that this makes no sense, "Katerina continues," now it's quite easy to study remotely: we are smoking a public school, but the lessons are conducted by Skype.

The boy seems to be suited: who will be from childhood in which you have a whole island?

In the meteorologist house, the family takes one big room. The head of the meteorological service lives in the next, the one who once called them back. Nearby - another employee.

Our profession is the simplest, "says Catherine. - We do not give any forecasts, just take the testimony. Shift - day after three: on shift every three hours you need to send data to St. Petersburg.

In general, no one in this family had no relation to meteorology. Katerina - a former chemist, Mikhail - historian. The victims of the profession studied first a month in St. Petersburg, and then - already in place.

In the courtyard of the house operates an automatic meteorological station. Fluggers are spinning on intricate towers, the booths "on the bitter legs" are torn. Most of the data collected by the meteorological station immediately go to the computer, but some of them need to be rechecked: the technique does not always turn out to be more accurate.

This is our sedimentary bucket, - Katerina takes out a large metal cylinder with a small nose from a container with petals. - Here during the rains, precipitation is flooded, then it remains to see their level. At the station there is the same electronic, automatic, but herself did not justify - the accuracy of measurement is not the same, now it's just standing nearby. So some dimensions are carried out in the same way as before, in compcruttle times.

On the island of Katerina does not bored: cooks jam from dandelions and cones, embroiders, prepares Ivan tea - on a lot, on the contrary, even not enough time. And somehow, I ordered myself a small industrial degree - so the gogland appeared their souvenirs. Now everyone can buy a wooden magnet, keychain or icon with pictures of the sights of the island. The sketches draws a familiar artist, Katerina prepares the material - Wooden Spies - and with the help of the decelerator transfers these pictures on them.

In the area of \u200b\u200bthe Southern Lighthouse, the glacier once inflicted stones, and now they swing the branches of pine. In the village of Camers about five houses. The village of quiet and unwashed, so I almost shudder, seeing a person's figure next to him.

Grigorschu on the appearance of seventy years. Wrinkling face, a checkered shirt is filled into pants, in hand - self-tutor, on the chest - a large silver cross. He is a southern lighthouse.

Well, what are you, young people, it seems that there are no life outside of the cities? - He answers a little bit on the question, what is it to live on the edge of the earth.

His wife comes to the rescue: already 19 years old the duty of the couple - the evenings climb the lighthouse and light the light there, and they can not imagine anything better.

The wife of the caretaker is a tired face, dark hair is tied in the tail.

We were 47 years old when we moved here, "the woman says. - once lived in Vyborg, I worked as an economist. I came somehow here in a military unit for an audit. And I don't know what I fell in love - in the stones or these, in these pines are cored ...

Having learned that the Lightak need a caretaker, she first tried to send her husband here, and then I went to explore myself. After pulled a husband with me.

He liquidator of the Chernobyl accident - he undermined health there, he was already hard in the city, "she explains.

Back to the city does not pull them. They go to the city every six months - for food soldering. And then - immediately back. They are better here.

The spouses ask them not to photograph and not to write names: "Lighthouse is a regime, military, we can not."

As always - the sea is noise.

The point Z is now built a common staircase, a rope railing is stretched on the mealkylus. We inspect the results of work from the open body of the Military Urals. The car shakes on the uneven road, the branches are harvested in the face. "Ural" stops at the beginning of the trail in the mountain - you can only go up on foot. A healthy person in good physical form is not difficult. It is difficult to realize that not everyone has the same opportunity. But Anton and Armen help Nastya climb on a steep slope. With eight years, Nastya is sick arthritis and walks on crutches. The girl grabs for the rope railing made on the eve, on two sides it is supported by the guys - and soon the most complicated behind. A bright sun warms on top.

We made impossible, - Anton notes.

About expedition

  • Volunteer Ecological and Eco-Welcome Camp "East Finnish Gulf" - a joint project of the Russian Geographical Society, the Volunteer Community "Hudsserfing" and the Expeditionary Center for the Ministry of Deferition of Russia. Carried out in the framework of the UNESCO initiative "Volunteers world Heritage».
  • This year, volunteers were able to enter the expedition to Gogland. limited features And volunteers older than 35 years old. Also, almost two thirds of the group made up girls, although only three years ago only young people could get into such expeditions.
  • Volunteers improved the paths to the triangulation points of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Arc Struve, laid the basic navigation network - now find the road to the attractions of the island using wooden pointers with manually screamed with inscriptions, collected information to create interactive map Islands and samples for scientific research. Geologists also took part in the expedition - perhaps later it would be possible to create a geopark on Gobland.
