Road trip and adventure

Plans for summer vacation this year was constantly changing. I was planning a long trip to Crimea, but a fresh loan for an apartment put an end to this idea. I was planning to drive around Kazakhstan to the valley of balls, but my wife could not go, and it is not entirely reasonable to go to the desert without a spare driver. As a result, almost a few days before the vacation, the main places to visit and an approximate travel route were outlined. Visit the historical festival in Tatarstan in Bulgar, then take a ride to our favorite water park "Zolotaya Bukhta" in Gelendzhik, then proceed to the region Mineralnye Vody, where to try to get to the Dzhily-Su tract, then home to Samara.

22 days travel in Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia in June 2019. Over 9000 km passed, 5 state borders. More than 50 interesting and unique places of Transcaucasia, as well as Russia - Baskunchak, Astrakhan, Derbent, Elista. Warm clean sea beautiful nature, unique historical sites, amazing cuisine and friendly people.

For two years in a row, we, a family of two adults and two children aged 2 and 4, have been driving in the summer by car to have a rest on the sea 3 thousand km from home. I think that our experience can be useful for those who are going to, but have never traveled long distances with children.

Initially, there was no Oman in the project of the fourth stage of the circumnavigation of the world. The Sultanate has appeared on our timetable as a fallback if we still do not get permission to travel through Saudi Arabia. From the moment of the initial request for a visa to Saudi Arabia more than a year has passed. The Moscow embassy said they only issue visas for Hajj or business visas. In fact, there is no tourist visa as a class in Saudi Arabia. There is another option transit visa but the Russian embassy is not authorized to give them. Further, from our side, followed by letters to the Foreign Ministry, contact with the Russian embassy in Riyadh. Gradually, everything began to plunge into the bureaucratic abyss, the chances of getting into Saudi Arabia became more and more ghostly. Realizing how this could end, we decided to add Oman to our itinerary before leaving. This is a continuation of the previous report about the world tour "Our World". Then we sailed from Iran to the UAE.

We went on this trip with the whole family - me, my wife Olya and children Diana and Timofey. Our car is the same - Kia Rio 2014 with a mileage of just over 160,000 km. Only now the car runs not only on gasoline, but also on propane.

Once again I check the list to see if I have collected everything. The difficulty is that you need to take the essentials, since a bicycle is not a car and you will have to carry it on yourself. A lot had to be donated, only a few warm clothes, a sleeping bag, a tent, dishes and spare parts with a tool for repairing a bicycle remained. And you also need gas, a burner, food for at least one day. In general, it was not possible to put everything in one backpack. As a result, I took one large backpack and one small one. According to the plan, the big one will go on the trunk, and the small one on the back, with the essentials, valuables and documents. Of course, for such trips it is better to take cycling pants, but I did not find them in Irkutsk and decided that I would buy them in Novosibirsk.

Back in the fall of 2018, my wife, children and parents and I decided to go on a car trip to the shores of Lake Baikal. The start was scheduled for August 3, 2019, and by that time everything was ready. But, as it sometimes happens, nature has made its own adjustments to our plans - literally a couple of days before the start in the Irkutsk region, due to long rains, there were severe floods. After a short discussion, we decide to go to sunny Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Why this direction? Well, firstly, because we already had a worked out and tested route, which, like the trip to Lake Baikal, fit into the 2 weeks of vacation available to us. And secondly, we, like most of the inhabitants of Russia, lacked summer, sun and the opportunity to swim. Actually, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan with their hot climate and equally famous lakes Balkhash and Issyk-Kul fully corresponded to our wishes. So, the decision has been made and it's time to go.

The trip was born as an improvisation. One day, sitting at home, we were having dinner, suddenly an idea appeared: to go to Western Siberia... We quickly packed up and set off the next day. We have not even figured out how many thousands of kilometers will have to go, on what routes. The most remarkable thing is that even with the money we did not really figure it out, there was only enough money for one way. We walked at a speed of no more than 75, around endless spaces that are monotonous and hypnotizing. The road is comparatively good, but it was not possible to resolve the issue with an overnight stay, we spent the night right next to the road. In Siberia, with hotels and places for a snack, the question is not thought out, you often have to do with dry food, which is not good. After Moscow, I have never run into any decent hotels. In the city itself, all cars are right-hand drive. There are hotels in the city, found a decent motel, rested and slept. More than two thousand kilometers have already passed. Schem on Barnaul, Altai is inhabited, there is civilization. Roads make a pleasant impression

Traveling by car is always a celebration of freedom and satisfaction of your own curiosity. The trip from St. Petersburg to Berlin is only about seven thousand km, so we went to long journey... The first city was Vilnius. Very beautiful city ishko, small, but devilishly cozy. I especially liked the narrow medieval streets. I still recommend climbing the Gedemin's Tower, walking around Uzupis. We stopped in Warsaw, a big city, if not huge. I heard that during the war it was completely razed to the ground. Now the metropolitan gloss is present, a beautiful city. Krakow is all pretentious, bohemian and sybaritic. We ate in one restaurant, they are fed to the heap in the literal sense of the word, and all this for some symbolic amount. Prague is completely unique. I fell in love with this city at first sight. The views from the site of St. Vitus Cathedral are expensive. We walked along the Vltava embankment, visited the famous Charles Bridge, drank a local beer. Berlin and Saxon Sw

The Kaluga land is full of holy places, it really is the heart of the Russian land, so every summer we visit the shrines. Until now, we continue to travel and discover something new. In the morning we start not too early and head for the city of Zadonsk, which is located in Lipetsk region... The Monastery of Tikhon Zadonsky is a famous, prayerful place. The road to Shchepkin is of medium severity. The stretch is not long, but we are constantly walking along deep ruts. Then the M-4 road begins, the federal highway is a rest, we fly like on wings. There are cameras everywhere, the speed is better not to exceed, because you will catch "letters of happiness" all over your head. Somehow I already had the pleasure to get acquainted with these documents, no more reluctance arises. There are a lot of trucks, they significantly slow down the progress towards the goal. In Voronezh, the roads are good, we passed the city without long “relaxation” traffic jams were not observed. In Zadonsk, they bathed in a holy spring, and a bivouac was set up nearby. Roads on Lipa

There are a lot of wonderful places in Yakutia where you want to go by all means. But Nakhot is an absolutely exceptional settlement. Frosts in Yakutia of 40-50 degrees are common and swimming in a hot spring in such weather is an exceptional pleasure. We live only three hundred kilometers from this point, and my wife and I decided to go. The frost was nearly fifty, so we thoroughly prepared for the trip. They took the entrenching tool, fuel, and a sapper's shovel. I know a little about these places, I already had to travel along the local routes, plus the Internet helped, I read the reviews. In general, in a couple of weeks we thoroughly prepared, collected information and set off early in the morning. In Tynda, when the frost drove off, it was 40 degrees. The road was normal, it was warm in the cabin, we had nowhere to rush, so we set off at an average cruising speed. After more than a hundred kilometers we met the village of Ienga. Places here are sacred, very revered by local shamans. Stopped

Last year, we passed all the tests and exams, received a certificate of higher education, and decided to present myself a trip to Altai. My husband, mom and dad went with me. All our life we loved to go out to the Nature with the whole family, so the “tent” way of life was quite satisfactory for us. For a week we studied possible routes, so to speak, the trajectory of the "optimal flight". In the end, we stopped on a trip towards the southern border, where the famous "Martian Valley" is located. We calculated a trip for 10 days, the speed of movement was not important, because in front of us were fabulous views and picturesque landscapes. It was not possible to get acquainted with these beauties in the "5th gear" mode. We bought all the necessary supplies and clean water, they decided to make dishes on fires, so they overstocked accordingly, taking into account this genre. We were not going to go to a deserted land, interspersed with permafrost, settlements

In June 16, my brother had to go to the Krasnoyarsk Territory for work. And my sister also wanted to see the lakes of those places. An employee told her that in her family she went there, well, our madam wanted to))) Indeed, in Khakassia, there is an amazingly beautiful vodie with crystal clear water. But we were convinced of this later))) There were three of us. My brother went to work and my sister and I hitched on. Vanya had work for a couple of days, on Thursday and Friday, and we pledged cultural rest on weekends. We moved out of the city of Volzhsky at six in the evening, poured a tank of gasoline into our KIA in such a way that it would take ten liters per hundred square meters. So, along the way, we met a lot of eateries, motels, we took with us everything we needed from food, so as not to waste time on stops. There are also enough gas stations on the highway, we had enough fuel almost until Uzhur. The road is quite bearable, somewhere old asphalt, somewhere new, only the place after Chebula was pretty problematic. The dirt road is strewn

We would like to tell you all about the wine paradise in the 4th Reich. In Belarus, they marinated us for only about 15 minutes, the Poles kept an eye on us, kept close to our faces for about 40 minutes. They muttered something in their hissing tongue and nodded their heads. We already began to think that we had a lot of drugs in the car, as well as plutonium and red mercury, but, fortunately, we were not completely suspected. They let go with God, but without a smile. It was already completely dark when we got to the familiar hotel (this was already our 5th trip). It was raining but it was warm the Velvet season... I recommend the Fus Hotel in Ozarów Mazowiecki, a suburb of the Polish capital, to everyone. We decided to sleep, there are many countries and hundreds of kilometers ahead, then, as he rests, he will work. We already have travel experience, we know that prices in Germany are higher than in Poland. Therefore, we decided to buy products in vacuum packaging and all kinds of juices and water. He also eats a subtlety that is worth knowing a little about. Gasoline on the Autobahn itself in Germany is noticeable

The whole family decided to make a grandiose journey of three thousand miles to the banks of the Seine in beautiful Paris. We have noted the key points - these are Poland, Hungary and Germany. We were driven by two people. One of us was resting in the back seat, I sat as a navigator. The driver closed his eyes for just a couple of seconds ... We stumbled into the bumper of the car in front of us. Minor damage, broken headlight and chewed bumper. All the same, an unpleasant aftertaste remained. In Poland, cars are removed from the scene of the accident, in our country it is absolutely customary - on the contrary, to leave "everything as it is" in order to draw up a correct protocol. The police arrived. Made up papers. Then we went to the station where there was a cash register. We paid a fine, the accident was our fault, there was no doubt about that. The price of the issue is only one hundred euros, all other costs are the business of the insurers. In the end, we reached the town, settled in a hotel, and rested a little. Let's go to main square walk. Krakow a little

We were informed more about the conquest of the moon than about Mongolia. All winter months we studied the issue, looked at maps, photos, videos, etc. Gradually, the enthusiasm weakened, there were various plausible reasons among the people. In the end, out of 10 people, only four "kamikaze" and two cars remained. We closed the ranks closer and decided: less is better, yes - better. From Khabarovsk to Mongolia, the path is rather big, more than three thousand kilometers, we thought it was even good, the cars would "warm up" on our territory, if any incident happens, it will be possible to fix it. The first day we waved 600 km without looking. Second day. The next day we got up very early, there was still no sun. We had a quick bite and hit the road. Somewhere in front of Chita, five hundred kilometers away, gas stations suddenly disappeared, they barely made it to some dilapidated gas station. We slept near the road right in the cars. Morning frost and high humidity. Chita was bypassed, they did not enter this settlement. The pass was steep, the road was bad

We started on Kia Rio from Moscow. I will note good track to Pyatigorsk, I did not meet the repaired sections, free movement without congestion, you mean traffic jams - in general, we drove without stopping. Stay overnight to choose a hotel in Mask-Pyatigorsk. He attracted first of all by the fact that it was erected right next to the highway. By the way, the conditions are excellent! Having rested, we moved on. Reaching North Ossetia, faced with the first stop, and then forced. The traffic police asked to stop so to speak. The usual check is supposedly. The people here are very welcoming - even at the post. After this all successful section of our path, we had to stand for 2 hours in a hopeless traffic jam. It was where the tunnel was. You will definitely pass it if you follow our route. We quickly passed the Georgian border, after which we could relax and calmly move to Tbilisi. When we "settled" in the city, we ate, drank, took a nap and went for a walk. IN

I've been to Greece! We traveled from Volgograd, of course, but I will tell you the section of our journey starting from Turkey, because in our opinion it was the most interesting. Each of us has probably already heard that the Greeks are not very hasty)) But this is their only drawback, guys. In general, the country of welcoming people turned out to be. It's a little expensive here, but where is it cheap? In Russia, goods are not for the poor either. We drove in the summer month in July. We started in the capital of the Turks - Istanbul. Our dream was to visit, albeit in a small Turkish city, but remarkable for its beauty - they call it Marmara Ereglisi. The town is located by the Sea of Marmara. There, my wife and I managed to taste delicious tomatoes - small ones, you understand? I finally ate the kebab. Ahead of us was the border between Turkey and Greece. We drove to her quite well, admiring the beauty of nature. But the surprise for us was unexpected there. In general, we had to linger at the radio control point. Checking hard

The whole family of four / my wife and I, daughter and son / we go to the Baltic States by car. That summer we decided to go on a long journey again. Several times they lost the correct route, when sometimes they tried to go around and take a shortcut near Kozelsk. We got completely lost and made a decent detour. But that's another story. But they got to Optina Pustyn straight without any wanderings. After Moscow they went to Volokolamsk. After passing Volokolamsk, we stayed in an excellent hotel, very good, every year we stay here. Indeed a place with a very good aura and splendid rural scenery. Let's go to Pskov, the place is swampy, a lot of moisture, settlements almost not. Everything around blooms and smells like a real jungle. Only, God forbid, to break down in this wilderness, what to do then ... I would not be surprised if there are wolves and bears in the local forests. Near Pskov there is a wonderful village called Kobylye Gorodishche. Very beautiful place... And there are funny names in the Pskov region: the river Nebol

Everyone certainly adores this beautiful seaside city of Odessa with impressive charisma and rich history... Almost everyone has been in this famous city, we also decided to go by car in a small company. In the midst of years in the city itself there is nothing to breathe, to Chisinau more than a hundred kilometers and then to South Palmyra from Chisinau - 170. In total, three hundred kilometers must be traveled, the path is not so close, taking into account the scorching heat. The decision was correct: to go at night. If everything happens without a hitch, in the morning we will see the sea and a beautiful city... We drove without much haste, changed behind the wheel. The roads in this sunny country leave much to be desired, we had a laptop and air conditioning. While driving, we looked after free places in hotels, and found a suitable location. It is a pleasure to drive around these places at night. The smell of the steppe and fresh warm air are indescribable sensations and aromas. We stood a little at customs, where we were gnawed by mosquitoes the size of years

The beginning of autumn was very welcoming. The weather was summer, but there was no heat. My favourite time of the year. There was an opportunity to visit Norway, the city of Olseund, where good friends live with us. We planned for six days. We got to Oslo unnoticed. The road is very beautiful, which is probably why there are many lakes and forests. There were no questions with the customs, we left the small airport building and immediately saw growing cherries)) We were a little surprised. Still, Norway is not exactly Austria or Italy. Friends greeted us, we went to visit them. People live in Norway modestly. It's in their blood. No one is proud of their wealth. To see a Porsche or Mercedes on the road is extremely rare. These northern people are very practical and value, above all, reliability and functionality. It is more convenient for a Norwegian to buy two inexpensive cars, one to go for groceries, another car for a summer cottage or a picnic. In total, we had to wave six hundred kilometers without looking. The road is like glass, simple and

For a very long time we wanted to visit Baikal. We planned, gathered, but the weather and emergency situations made their own adjustments. A week before departure, I urgently had to change direction. They didn’t really want to go to Altai, as we had been there several times. But they heard about the very beautiful Issyk-Kul Lake. To the lake, so to the lake! There were no plane tickets, the train took too long. The family council made a decision: "We are going to Issyk-Kul, we are going by car." The approximate distance is 2200-2300 km.

In 2016, we were forced to take a break from our trip around the world. Then there was time to do more detailed route planning. Once again, taking a critical look at the entire planned trip, I came to the conclusion that we had greatly deprived Africa of attention. Yes, you can get to Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco, but this is not all of Africa. The route was redrawn: now our path lay at least to South Africa, and if we are lucky, we will get to Europe through West Coast... Now we were getting to the UAE through the already familiar Iran, but then the difficulties began.

Having traveled all over Russia from west to east, and some of its places more than once, tens of thousands of kilometers, a year ago I began to think about changing the class of the motorcycle. Traveling on the roads has become boring. A motorcycle trip in Mongolia prompted me to think about it. Beautiful country with a distinctive culture opens up just endless opportunities for travelers who are not afraid to move off the asphalt road into the steppe. I was finally convinced of changing the motorcycle class by an invitation from the "Sarmat" motorcycle club in Urai to take part in an expedition to the pass named after. Dyatlova on motorcycles - "Woodpecker Treffen".

For the third summer in a row we have been leaving home by car and wandering around the country (and sometimes around the nearby) for a month or two or three ... Usually, the goal is to visit parents, the sea, the mountains and, along the way, solve all sorts of different issues, the story of which will go below ...

Initially, the route involved a departure from Moscow to Barcelona, crossing the passing countries, then back. But due to a great desire to visit the Scandinavian countries, the route was changed: RF - Belarus - Poland - Czech Republic - Germany - Italy - Monaco - France - Spain - France - Netherlands - Germany - Denmark - Norway - Sweden - Finland - RF.

In the beginning was the word. And the word was "I want." I want warmth and sun, I want mountains and views, I want cultural and ethnic exoticism, I want to see new places. And all this must be crammed into 9 days of May Day holidays and a modest budget, which unequivocally hints that it is better not to dream about foreign countries.

I'll start, like our journey, right off the bat. First, about the car and preparation. Toyota Auris, 2014 on a variator, it was bought in April with a mileage of 98,000, in May it was run-in to the driver on a trip to Georgia, during which a similar collapse was made, as it was eating the outer edge of the right front. Upon returning to Moscow, the procedure was repeated in a normal place, and the problem went away. I changed the oil filters and put on the radio. The car is ready! :) For the sake of fairness, it should be noted that immediately after the purchase, the discs-pads were changed in a circle, the slurry in the variator and the oil.

The first days of August in the Leningrad Region were traditionally marked by bad weather without the slightest hint of summer, but there was still no rain, and therefore I decided that it was worth replenishing the Drom.ru website with a new article about a short trip to the EU country - Estonia. Leningrad region it borders on two countries of the European Union, I have already traveled to Finland on my Nissan Leaf electric car several times, even reached the capital, Helsinki, but I have not yet been to Estonia. Well, the time has come to fill that gap as well.

Having decided one day to take a car trip with his parents, it was decided to visit European capital beauty and fashion, love and romance - the legendary Paris. The path was not easy - 3000 km: Donetsk - Paris.

Were planned transshipment points in Poland, Hungary and Germany. Despite the fact that there were two drivers among us, I really wanted to relax and admire the sights of the countries passing by us.

We flew to Stockholm in a large company. An ordinary passenger car would not fit, therefore, in order to get to the final destination, the polar towns of Piteå and Luleå, it was necessary to rent a minibus. There are several car rental offices at Arlando Airport, but the car with the required passenger capacity was not available.

I had to turn to my Swedish comrades. They helped and ordered a Renault rental for us for 270 euros per day. Compared to the price lists of other companies, it is relatively inexpensive, especially since we have paid in a club. Each of the 9 people in our company had to pay 1200 Swedish kronor for four days of rent, which is equal to 120 euros.

Every year, at the end of summer, our whole family rushes to the shrines of the Kaluga land. But now the children have grown up, the youngest is studying at the medical university, so the crew of our car has decreased. But the day of the start has come.

Photo # 1. We finished in the evening, decided not to leave early. We are driving our route for 2 days. We always visit the city of Zadonsk. Here is one of the most sacred places in the Lipetsk region. The monastery of Tikhon Zadonsky is probably known to every believer. Therefore, we leave at 8 am.

So it's time for the chicks to fly out of the nest. This year, my daughter graduated from school and successfully entered the Volgograd Medical University. It was necessary to urgently take the documents to the admissions office, and we set off on our first trip to the city - the hero of Volgograd.

The distance according to the navigator is 547 km. After looking at information about the quality of roads and traffic jams, we decide to leave early in the morning. Our task is to be in time before 15-00. At our beloved Gazprom, we fill the 95th gasoline, under the traffic jam and at 8 am we hit the road. The road to the village of Chaltyr is easy. Although the track is one-row, it is wide. We are moving with the maximum permissible speed of 109 km / h.

Introduction: The main purpose of the trip was to capture in the early spring of three natural site: Lake Baskunchak, Mount Elbrus and the Terek River. Travel time: March.
